  1. An OK epsiode. Carol is creep AF. What kind of Carrie stunt will she pull at the wedding? Sahid is probably the funniest of the second tier Could 9 employees at the moment. Jonah really needs a hobby outside of the store. It also gets more and more unrealistic that he seems to have lost all his career ambition.
  2. Off the top of my head: S02E01 the scene with the bus ride to the FATB weekend. The original had a song (Gimme Hope Joanna by Eddy Grant), the international version just some instrumental music.
  3. Original Air Date: 01/23/2020
  4. If you are watching this on Netflix you don't even get the full load of 90s music. When I rewatched it on Netflix I realised that few songs had been changed in the international version, for legal reasons I assume. I was surprised that they chose Scarlett's Independent Love Song for the scene with Erin and James considering how raunchy those lyrics are 😃. Great song though.
  5. There was a rumor a few months ago that this is going to be the last season of PR because Karlie was too busy with other stuff. Back then I was wodering whether those rumors were planted to give someone an edge for contract negotiatons. Maybe the producer's decision to broadcast that Kushner comment had something to do with it too? On another note: the models this week weren't great walkers, were they?
  6. Thanks for letting us know about the Kenyan version. I checked it out and while, unfortunately, it is another two challenge version - which I always have troubles warming too - the presenters and contestants are a really pleasant and lovely bunch. Love the colourful aprons!
  7. Siobhan had a few good lines like when she said that what she will take away from this experience ... are a few of the bowls she has grown rather fond of and they seem to have more than enough of them around here anyway. I wasn't quite sure whether they tried to be in character for this or if thats how they really are. I've seen a few interviews with them where they seemed less like their respective characters but thats quite different from the stressful situations arising in that tent. My favourite part was probably Saoirse reading the technical recipe out loud in a full on Derry accent. The celebration scene at the end: you get a few more extra's in and film them more close up to make it look like a proper party and not just 7 people standing behin a table prentending to enjoy themselves.
  8. Season 2, here we go and how good it is to have a Northern Irish contestant - a rare sight. Shows where the contestants go home between episodes (like GBBO) hardly ever feature contestants from NI or the isles unless they live somewhere in England - I assume because it is either to expensive or time consuming to shuttle them back and forth. They have changed the layout which was a good call and gave the studio a much softer look which I find very pleasing. The kitchenettes in the first series looked so small and too bright. I also think that Angela Hartnett is a good addition to this show - even though she is professional and tough she has a warm personality and a pleasant voice. Wow, that first challenge made me soo hungry. I love pasta and will look up some of those recipes, especially Suzy's duck dish, it sounded great. I like pears but they are a very subtle flavour and usually very watery so I'd rather eat them raw. Even with a good pear crumble I find that the custard and crumble are usually the dominant flavours. The elimination challenge - again, a very tasty dish - marked the end for Sean and rightly so. He came across as a bit of a poser.

  11. Well, that was cute. Not sure how I feel about the opening bit but the girls were fun. As with all those celebrity specials there wasn't much when it came to the baking. While it was fun to have the whole crew there (minus Louisa) for this occasion, I don't quite get why people who have never baked anything in their life would be cast on a show like this. It always is such a mess. I find it much more interesting when its a bunch of celebs who think they are great in the kitchen and looking to get confirmation on their baking skills. Apart from Nicola, who came in as the odds on favourite but suffered a Steph, nobody knew what they were doing, their bakes looked a mess (even the trifles looked messy) and it was hard to pick a winner. And I still need that second episodes with Joe, Gerry and Colm.
  12. The second series of 'Best Home Cook' with Mary Berry will kick off on BBC 1 on Thursday 2nd of January. Angela Hartnett will replace Dan Doherty, who has been dropped amid sexual misconduct allegations, on the judging panel.
  13. As far as I know a 6th series has been confirmed and there has been a call for applications earlier this year. I haven't seen a teaser or trailer for it on the BBC yet, but they tend to announce those shows relatively close to the actual air dates. They have just announced the second series of that Mary Berry 'Best Home Cook' show, so I'd expect Sewing Bee to air when that is over (end of February, I'd say).
  14. In his presentation before the big (fail) launch, Richard thanks his mentor Peter Gregory and you can see a picture of him in on the screen in the background
  15. The Seamen special was a bit boring, wasn't it? Three old men on boats and nothing happens - besides them swearing a lot and the odd engine malfunction or fowled prop. Clarkson could have done with a hovercraft in those weed fields.
  16. It was an OK episode and before the big twist at the end I thought Jonah was maybe heading for positiona as a union leader or something like that. I need more Sayid and less Justine. The B plot with Jared, Mateo and Glenn was lame. Glenn's cow shoe was the least worst.
  17. The Belfast Telegraph has a few pictures from the Derry Girls special. Paul: "They weren't the best bakers we have had in the tent, but they were very entertaining and noisy."
  18. The BT has a few pictures from the upcoming Great British Bake Off Special featuring most of the Derry Girls (only Louisa is missing) plus sister Michael. It will air on New Year's Day on Channel 4 - I don't know when or if it will come to Netflix. Can we have a second episode with the grown ups - with granda Joe, da Gerry and Colm?
  19. The show got a bit repetitive over the years but they rounded it off with a strong finale - retrospectively it almost affirms that everything that has happened, even the annoying bits, happened for a reason. I have no complaints. '10 years on Gilfoyle' looked like a skinny Witcher. Of course Monica would go and work for the NSA. Thats my girl. How nice that they got Bill Gates to do a cameo in the final - he has done a few very small guest appearances over the years and his delivery is always pretty good. TVline has an interview with one of the show's producers and apparently Bill Gates is a fan and has consulted them on the show.
  20. I love that show, so many talented people! Dunno why Jay is still around as he does not do much work and isn't even in all of the client meetings anymore. The way all the experts, especially the adorable teddy bear ladies, handle their items (or plush-patients) even when the clients are not around shows such a deep understanding of their work what the items mean to their owners. For me, that show isn't just about the crafts though, I enjoy all the lovely personalities and the interactions between people. I was convinced in the first series that there was a romance brewing between clock expert Steve and the lovely ceramics lady Kirsten. (She is married though and there has been less interaction between them in later series, so I wonder if someone has had a word) Also love Steve's sister - she is a doll and it broke my heart when she repaired that rocking horse that took her back too loosing her husband. Gotta ship Brenton and Susie now ("can you make me a new heart?") People on Twitter, of course, love Dom and Will.
  21. Her parents' last name (and Midge's maiden name) is Weiszmann though.
  22. I've binged the whole show yesterday and as I can't keep the episodes apart I'll have to give my verdict on the whole season: a bit disappointing. It started strong but lost steam very quickly. Season 3 spent a lot of time on secondery stories - some worked, some did not and at some point Midge's mom (the actress playing her does such a great job) is not wrong when she pointed out that Midge's choices ended up affecting the whole family. The story with Joel's club and its downstairs secret got old really fast, although I like Mae as his new GF. The Vegas wedding annoyed me and I can't figure out if they want Joel and Midge to end up together at the end of the series or not. Susi's sidegig was set up to teach her a few lessons about managing, but the Jane Lynch character is really grating. As are Joel's parents: I don't find them funny anymore. It felt like there were more of those extended dance numbers this season and for me they tend to take the pace out of the episodes. Also, there are scene setups that are similar to AMS' other shows (the dance club Lenny took Midge too was very GG revival). On the other hand, I dreaded seeing Liza Weil in this show, but she did great, and Sterling K. Brown was a good addition too - especially when he sang on stage. Shame that we saw so little of Lenny Bruce, but the first episode where Abe got himself arrested for standing up to him was gold. It was also nice that we got to see more of Midge's routines and how she structures them. I wonder if Abe, the theatre critic to be, will have to review one of Midge's gig in the next season. Good to see Midge's doctor ex boyfriend again. I was almost hoping that they would get together after their blowout in the deli. This season was set out to give Midge and Susie room to develop their skills, to learn and observe. But for an arc that comes full circle in the end, dropping them off at more or less the same stage of their careers from which they set out in the beginning, it lacked the roller coaster ride in between. Edit: Who paid Susie's plane tickets when she went back and forth to be with either Miss Julie or Midge? Plane tickets cost a bloody fortune back then.
  23. Congratulations Sunny! For me, the Australian version is still the best Bake Off franchise out there because they stick to the intial format and their hosts and judges are actually pleasant to watch. I enjoyed the Dobos torte challenge because one of the best petite four I have ever had was a miniature Esterhazy torte, which is a variation on the Dobos. The original Dobos, as far as I know, is a light sponge with chocolate cream while the Esterhazy uses a nut sponge and vanilla cream. The showstopper, to be honest, was a bit underwhelming. I didn't really understand where they wanted them to go with the geometric assignment.
  24. I am a lot younger than Russ, and I owned the Butterfly single CD. I actually only threw it out a few weeks ago along with a box full of other 'what was I thinking' CDs when I was clearing out the attic. I can't even remember if I bought that myself or if it was my sister's ... nah it was definitely me sister's 😄
  25. Gwart hates Puddle of Mud - she is a Linkin Park girl. LOL This episode had a few good bits, and I am not talking about Russ Hannemann. Thanks for putting the tech part into perspective @chocolatine! Someone needs to take down Jinjang in the final episode. And Laurie's schtick is getting old now too.
