  1. This was really an exceptional episode. Even the music was more remarquable than usual, in my opinion. They are really doing a very good job at fleshing the clones' fate after the war and the transition towards stormtroopers. I really think that this series is completely underestimated, the quality keeps getting better and better.
  2. That is something that cannot be stated too often! They are all absolutely amazing in their roles and they fucking look their age, which is pretty rare...
  3. It was showed, but it could as well be an invention rather than an actual memory. The way it was shown (no sound, a bit overexposed) made me also think that it was a lie supposed to make Davies lose his flow. Like in the previous episode, I found it strange that they did not show was happened after that (the arrest for the previous one, the actual recovery in this one).
  4. Sorry for Diego Luna but on this one, I would rather Bob Odenkirk or Adam Scott win this award, as they were both amazing in BCS and Severance!
  5. I am with you on this one. I'm watching the show mainly because I am in love with the books and that I jump on every occasion to get back into this universe. But man is the show disappointing! The cast and visuals are good but the scenario and the dialogues are not... During this episode, I though multiple times that the situation did not make sense or that I was bored. So many jumps between plotlines, without much coherence or stakes, really. I guess by now, I am basically hate watching, which I find very sad 😢
  6. Or you can watch Severance 😉
  7. To nitpick, it is not Corellian, as it was manufactured in the Fondor Shipyards. But it is indeed in the same class of ships as the Millenium Falcon, albeit smaller.
  8. I am so glad for Ellen (And Will, also, his embrace with his colleague was very moving)!! She finally takes the chance to control her narrative and get ahead of everyone! I am really looking forward to seeing how this plays out in the longer run. And man, what a speech! I also quite liked the timelapse of the digging, it was really well done visually speaking. Even though the time jump did prevent us from getting important developments, I was not really annoyed by it, without knowing precisely why. Would it be that my expectations for this show are lowering? And even if the Aleida story has been neglected a lot during the whole series, I found that this episode took the time to flesh her investigation. Her interactions with her former boss at NASA really helped getting a better feeling of her thought process. Not a huge fan of the scene with the FBI woman but I am willing to forget it. I was genuinely surprised by the cliffhanger, even though I should know better by now. I find this new development both exciting (what's going to happen!) and a bit old (close to what happened on the Moon). So I'm waiting for what the writers have in store there. And of course, Danny... For a moment, I almost thought that they had decided to use the time jump to revert him to a decent person :-/
  9. Not yet, as far as I know 🤷
  10. Thanks, @PeterPirate! I'll be sure to check Ological's videos too, I already enjoyed some of his comments on Courtney's ones 😅. I loved the tone and style of the Polite Fights videos, though, I miss them quite a bunch... By the way, shouldn't this forum get threads like the ones on Slack, Discord or Disqus? It would make reading the comments much easier and faster as you could focus on the topics that are the most interesting to you...
  11. @Lalo Lives I agree that Courtney's videos are very rich and that she analyses in depth the character's evolution and the choices of words in the dialogs. Very high-quality stuff indeed, I hope she continues with other series after that. It reminds me a bit of the Polite Fight videos that were produced by the AVClub website at some point and which I loved watching after an episode of BCS. Their analysis of the choices in terms of camera angles and image colours were mindblowing, to me. Searching very quickly I found this example of these videos, about the Kim montage :
  12. Also an interesting article without real spoilers from the comics that lists the possible avenues the series might explore in season 2 : https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/paper-girls-season-2-what-to-expect/
  13. Also, how great was it to have the Jackie Chan Adventures playing on the TV where Francesca was plunging the sink?! It brought back so many memories from my childhood 😅
  14. Disclaimer: I did not read all the comments above, sorry... Also, when did this forum became a place to live-tweet about the episode? The shot that stayed with me was Gene at a literal crossroad after his call with Francesca. He was ready to go back to his Cinnabon life, I think, but could not resist trying to connect back to his Albuquerque one. Also, that was the shot that appeared in the "re-recording" of the opening title. And I join the commenters who do not think he got to speak with Kim in that phone booth, as his attitude did not match at all what I would expect from him speaking with her and matched perfectly him getting annoyed at someone for not putting him through. On the other hand, I might be in the minority but I did not care at all for the Jesse and Walt cameo. In addition to Aaron Paul not looking and sounding like Jesse in Breaking Bad, which was distracting, this scene did not bring much to the story. On the other other hand, the montage between Saul going to Walt's school and Gene breaking into the marks's house felt way more momentous, even if maybe a bit too on the nose. In both cases, he could have backed up, as someone was urging him too, but he chose to pursue it no matter what. I think the take-away message is that in both cases, this will ultimately mean his downfall.
  15. By the way, as pointed out by someone else in the For all mankind forum, the actor playing Larry, Nate Corddry, happens to also play a character named Larry in For all mankind 😁 I am already trying to twist my head canon so that both shows share the same universe 🤯
  16. @xaxat I thought the exact same thing! I found it both a bit confusing and very funny. As both shows deal with timelines, in a way, I was trying very hard to find a way that this could be the same person from alternate timelines 😅 I recommend Paper Girls, by the way, both the comics and the show, it is a nice universe with competent creative teams behind the two mediums.
  17. Funny thing: I binged Paper Girls (which I recommend heartily!) last week and a character (played by Jason Mantzoukas, for all the The Good Place fans 😁) has a long monolog about how the timeline is like a mixtape and that if you record too many times over it, the tape will eventually break. It definitely reminded me of the title sequence on BCS and how it slowly degraded season after season until this episode it stopped completely.
  18. Hard to say, as it is not at all a direct adaptation of the comics. So far, I have recognised elements from the first four issues (French issues, so probably each one is a concatenation of many US issues...) but they also have left a lot out. Larry does not exist in the comics, for instance, and the story does not go at all the same road, even if you find the same beats in both mediums.
  19. I do agree, that's a real pity! The show is very well done, with more than satisfying SFX, a very strong cast and a clearly competent writing room. The dialogs are often very witty and they manage to touch on powerful topics without it being forced (first periods and hygienic protections, trauma and grief, family expectations...). I really hope this gets renewed! Having read the comics, I know there is still a lot of very good stuff to adapt 😁
  20. I think they said that because it was very improbable for her to have been in the woods in the first place. She is not supposed to stray from her established schedule, being from a pretty uptight family.
  21. Funny to see the reactions to the first episode for someone who has read the comics. I get that makes me a lot less confused than people who discover this story. They seem to have changed quite a lot in the adaptation process so I think my knowledge of the comics might not be such a huge advantage! But yeah, Adult!Erin does not remember at all these events, so either she has not lived them at all or she had her memory erased at some point 😏
  22. I really agree with you, @PurpleTentacle! I had the exact same reaction when he mentioned aspirin. And Kelly should definitely have reacted, especially because women are told again and again to NOT take aspirin when having their menstruations... The fact that she is pregnant is similarly baffling. The writers are really chipping at my suspension of disbelief, this season. It really feels that a lot of stuff is happening for the plot's sake and not organically. Which is very surprising considering the first two seasons. Anyway, the science stuff remains highly entertaining and gripping so it still is a very nice watch. The idea to blow up the lava tube under the hab was a clever one, glad it worked. I just regret that Danny did not have to do something like sacrifice his oxygen for Ed and could not make it. Missed opportunity 😈
  23. On thing that took me out of it for a moment was when Jonny said that his mother had taught him the trick to smoke and blow the smoke directly into the air recycling system. She invented the technique when she was on the moon, not long before her death and I highly doubt that she would have talked about it during a visio with her family...
  24. I actually had a feeling that maybe it was more than friendship? The way Zoe said that one should be free to reveal herself for what she really is at her own time had a strong "coming-out" vibe, to me...
  25. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about "non-lethal" and it made me think of flashballs and their increasing use by the police (at least in France where I live). In the context of the show, I think that the effects such as pieces of walls being ripped off by these weapons are just there because it is visually striking. When they do hit the kids with the shots, they have less brutal an effect. I agree that Bruno's kicking in the face was pretty harsh, though...
