  1. You pretty much summed up all that is wrong with the 2017 version of Brooke Logan. I loved the scrappy college student/part-time cater waiter from the valley who had big dreams and a crush on Ridge Forrester. I cheered for the young woman who stood up to big mean Stephanie Forrester. I adored the chemist who discovered Belief. I admired the CEO of Forrester Creations. I have no use for this fiftysomething woman who walks around talking about her destiny.
  2. It really illustrated the contrast between the main characters. JC was wearing shoulder pads and lipstick to play a housebound invalid because JC is a star first and then an actress. And BD wanted BJ to "look demented" because she's an actress first and a star second.
  3. It always works best when all the panelists are in the studio, that's when it gets more conversational and naturalistic, and less contrived. I always that AM Joy was for people who don't watch MSNBC all week (like me), who like to get their weekly TV news in one lump. It's playing on Saturday morning while I clean up the apartment, and playing on Sunday while I'm reading the NYT. Perfect weekend fare.
  4. Klute was the last answer. It started with 'Fonda funds...'.
  5. I like the idea of a 10-12 episode show that only lasts one season, and Eyewitness was a great example of that. I hope USA continues to experiment with the form.
  6. Well, to some in the Catholic Church. My brother and his wife (lower case Catholics) asked me to be the godfather of one of their kids. I believe in a higher power, although I don't belong to any church. I accepted, because I know in my bro's case, it was largely ceremonial. There was a moment during the ritual when my nephew started acting up (God bless him!) while the godmother was holding him. I took him and he immediately settled down, the spectators responded with oohs and aaahs, much to the joy of my Irish-born (upper case Catholic) parents.
  7. But didn't Chuck do that on purpose, within earshot of Hannah, to create a "I'm a dad, I couldn't do this" schtick?
  8. Did you break out the red sharpie? :)
  9. Totally agree Medicine Crow! There was a time when the occasional Oscar Winner might show up, now we just get Jerry O'Connell and a fashion rundown. You could tape that in the studio in NYC.
  10. Actors don't make this decision, studios do. And I agree, she should've been in the leading category.
  11. I don't think writing an entry in the Modern Love series in the NYT qualifies as a huge success. Many first-time and only-time writers have achieved this dubious distinction. Chuck Palmer didn't like Hannah's blog. Everybody and their mother has a blog. I don't think the show is portraying Hannah as a famous/serious writer, or even a good writer. She's a young woman living in New York with a degree, a little talent and time to write.
  12. I stand corrected. It doesn't depend on the state, a woman could list the name Beau Rivage or Tawny Moore, giving the kid the dad's last name is a custom, not a legality.
  13. Not necessarily, they're Shirley's granddaughters. Shirley could have had a son, say Salvatore Spectra, and he had two daughters; Sally (named after his aunt) and Coco (named after Mme. Chanel). And not every kid has his father's name, Bridget Moynihan's kid with Tom Brady is named John Moynihan.
  14. I was getting creeped out when he was making the tea/coffee, I was waiting for a Cosbyesque slipping of the mickey. Guilty admission: I was swooning over that apartment: the doorman, the bookshelves, the terrace, the views!!!
  15. In total agreement, this goes beyond Andy's usual stupidity and middle school humor. This is callousness.
  16. Series 1 or Series 2 on Netflix next month? Will Series 2 not air on BBCAmerica?
  17. What a great article, thanks for posting it ByTor. Since we haven't heard from SF, I have to admit I was a little bit worried about her health, but it sounds like she's thriving! I love that she's still talking to some cast members, exactly the two I thought she'd keep in touch with. And how cool is it that Joanna Johnson got her old friend to direct an episode? So cool. I wish her a long and productive retirement.
  18. She did. But it returned to its original Spectra splendor as if by magic. Same thing happened when Brooke opened the short-lived Logan Designs in the same spot (remember she had a sauna/jacuzzi type of thing right off her office?). That too returned magically to the glory that is Spectra.
  19. Thankfully Alec admitted to Leah that he understood what she was talking about, that indeed he did speak 'shitfaced'. LOL
