Two women talking about a third woman can get brutal. The fact that they all do it is interesting. I absolutely love when characters in a show dump on acting. I find it kind funny in a dark way. A douche from a family of wankers…..Does kinda sum them up. You rob a jewelry store in a hotel you gotta take off your sweatshirt before you hit security gate. That is robbery 101. “I almost died but I got the room comped” could be the theme if the entire series. I think I am rooting for the monkeys.

That’s the thing about the kind of faith the show is portraying. Something bad happened to Tai and Van (they unintentionally caused the death of a guy) and then something good happened when Van’s diagnosis came in. The mindframe Tai is in right now she connected the dots of what could have been a coincidence and turned it into a cause and effect which pushes her deeper into the throws of a religion that she believed in as scared teenager.

This was a brilliant episode showing how far on the dark side the girls have gotten in both the teenage and adult timeline. Shauna is just ultra angry and Lottie being around is fueling her anger but that anger has been bubbling at the surface for a long long time. I am not a big fan of the hallucination theory or more to the point the magic theory. I much prefer the deep trauma bordering on mental illness that never quite healed for any of them. That being said I did really like the fantasy sequences. I also really like Lottie hanging out with Callie. And the sacred necklace makes an appearance in the adult timeline. It is important in the teen timeline as a symbol of who is being hunted but seeing it on Callie is creepy especially with Lottie saying it doesn’t mean what Shauna thinks it does.

The three women: I think two of them literally get by in their looks. One is an actress. The other I think married well. The third is likely the one who had to work hard for her money. It’s implied she is a single mother and a corporate lawyer so she works hard for everything she has and is likely the lowest on the totem poll because of this. This is good portrayal of toxic female friendship. I am still guessing that none of these ladies actually LIKE each other and the claws will come out completely during the vacation.

I love the relationship between Will and Angie and what the show is doing with it this season. Adding a bit of resentment that has been bubbling for awhile and maybe even though they love each other that they are just not right for each other. Marion may not be the toughest person in the room but she is also emotionally open which is something new for Will and might be what he needs. Marion is someone who feels her emotions and she wears those emotions all over her body. That might be good for Will at this point in his life. my favorite part was everyone carrying the generator up flights of stairs joking along the way. My other favorite part was when the cops finally got to the medical examiners room they just looked at the scene and were like “what do you need?”

Although a good episode my biggest issue about an episode about how prevalent Rape actually is in this country wasn’t focused on the three women in the group or even the rape victim (who had actually been on previous episodes) but on Remy and his feelings.

I am usually not a fan of procedurals but I kinda wish this was just a procedural and not watching shady people being shady. I like the chasing escaped serial killers a lot more the government conspiracy stuff. Maybe I am just not in the headspace. Still Kari Matchett is one of those actresses that when she appears on a show I take notice….so there is that.

Rewatched Season 2 (and I will likely stop there as I have other stuff to watch now) but I really liked the cat and mouse between Dexter and Doakes. I know she isn't a popular character but Lila was a fun addition and necessary because the show needed to giver Dexter another option to Rita when he hadn't made his mind up yet about how far down the rabbit hole he wanted to go with the relationship. Also the whole hunt for The Bay Harbor Butcher was done really well.

Haven’t learned anyone’s names yet so I am just going by vague descriptions. But I am thinking main family unit comes from an upper middle class area where they are the big time family. They are used to getting their way. Used to going to the same vacations where the staff bend over backwards for them. Where other people bend over backwards for them because they are the special lucky family of the area. THIS is a new place, new trip for them where other guests are just as wealthy and not particularly interested in them. You saw it with older brother flirting with the young lady. I am guessing back home it doesn’t take much. Take off his shirt and smile and he gets the girl. But here at The White Lotus in Thailand he isn’t as special as he thinks he is. My guess is his story is going to be him getting shot down time and time again by girls who frankly can do better.

When the promoter handed them their contracts they said something along the lines of it being a "career" and "life changing". In other words its not going to be part time gig work. Maybe entry level but something if they are careful they expand into a career. Once they age up a little use the money to get better educations or become the person who hands out the contracts.

How Dexter views Harry is essential to The Code. Dexter finding out that Harry has been lying to him would send Dexter into a spiral we know this because it essential did in the OG series. Not to mention being able to get to know Brian as a younger man may have changed the man Dexter became later. And if Brian was arrested all he needed to do was tell the truth and find one honest cop to listen. Heck Laguarta would have listened to his story. All he needed to do was tell her about what Harry did way back when and continued to do and it at bare minimum would have ended Harry's career but at worst would put an early spotlight on Dexter. All Brian had to do was tell the truth and Harry's lie would fall apart.

My favorite show about awful rich people having an existential crisis while on vacation (this time in Thailand) is back. I already want to kick most of them in their soft private places. Last time was guys trip. Now its the ladies turn. Although not family like with the guys it looks like the ladies are the long time friends who don't actually like each other. Fun Fun Fun. And then we have the family of douche bags. Dad looks like he might be shady and going to prison when he gets home. Wife pops pills like they were candy. Older son thinks he is the man. I am thinking younger son will turn out to be gay. Daughter is a bit a mystery and the one I can't put my finger on yet.

I am not a big fan of prequels especially ones that focus on the main character of the original series. That being said Original Sin was better then it was worse. Watching Young Dexter build his code piece by piece as Harry realizes the terrible truth that the boy he left behind in the container to save Dexter is the one person who can tear the carefully constructed lie he told his son about his life down. I understand why Harry never told anyone about Brian. No good could come of it. If Brian got caught then there is no way to prevent him from telling Dexter the truth that he wasn't in fact born a killer. That he was made just like all the others he has and will kill. Harry thinks he is protecting Dexter and arresting Brian brings the whole thing crashing down. As for Deb I think it is just hand wave in case there isn't another season and wanting her on the path she ultimately takes thinking it will bring her closer to the secrets Dexter and Harry have. SMG really didn't do much but then she is SMG and doesn't need to.

Hot Chocolate or human flesh. you decide.

Well there we go Shauna. The theory that Shauna treats Jeff so badly is because she is gay is at least being discussed. Heck I get it. There is like one guy left in the wilderness (not counting Coach Ben) and he is among the most fucked up so girl kissing will likely happen more frequently but then I can see Shauna killing Blonde girl who she kisses because Shauna kills those she loves. This is not a love story. Also it looks like the other theory that two distinct groups might be forming. Coach Ben might be bringing certain girls out of group think hysteria. Which will likely end badly. I missed this show.

Yay one of my two favorite shows is back!!! Honestly I think the show started season 3 exactly where it needed to. In the teenage timeline the girls have fully acclimated to their new environment. It has become home to them. I really liked Van’s recap and Shauna telling a darker version. Misty is still trying to find her place. Plus Coach Ben is still alive and likely out to do something problematic. But it does look like the girls are more or less acclimated and not even trying to get rescued anymore. The adult story starting with the ramifications of Nat’s death was also a good place to start. It allowed the group to mourn. Hey it looks like Shauna’s husband and daughter have become full fledged recurring characters. Tai and Van are acting like they are teenagers again. Maybe because they have this whole block of time they missed out on after being rescued so they never got to have that time in the real world together. But this is still Yellowjackets and a simple dine and dash has unintended consequence. Misty is in a bad place which can only mean bad things. Shauna is actually trying to be another to her daughter.

And everyone lives happily ever after...... I continue to appreciate the fact that Tory gets her happy ending because she really was my favorite character. I know that Miguel has always been billed as the new gen "karate Kid" but for me Tory's story has always been far more entertaining. I also like that Johhny's storyline comes full circle and he is able to finally get the win he was denied in the movies showcasing that this is ultimately his story. I am likely in the minority and never liked Sam so having one of the big central conflicts between Robby and Miguel be about Sam never rang true for me. And having Miguel push off his own future just to spend time with Sam is just weird. Yeah the contest stipulations were flexible as hell but I hand wave that as something devised to make everything more interesting. Doing the same thing over and over would be boring after awhile but having every contest be just a little different made things entertaining. My favorite non romantic pairing was the Binary Bros so I am glad they stayed together and both went to Caltech. Johnny finally got the future he always wanted. A family that loves him and a dojo that runs the way HE want it to run. He will always teach offense but he understands that maybe Daniel's defense strategy has its place. And they all lived happily ever after.

I do like that the show has not forgotten it is called “Cobra Kai” and has largely become a redemption arc for Johnny and the people he surrounded himself with. I was always kinda nervous it would be all about how good pure and ultimately right Daniel and his family always were and sometimes it has but ultimately it has become a story about what the lessons of Cobra Kai ultimately mean for the people who need to hear them.

Then the entire premise of Jill’s religion falls apart. Complete vigilance is needed to keep your perfect man’s eyes on you and only you. Sam to coworker : “My family is going on our third yearly two week vacation but boss won’t let me take three weeks off. What do you do?” Coworker “I wish I could go on so many vacations but I can’t afford it. Sam “Ask your church for money. If that doesn’t work find another church.” coworker “uhhhhh” Sam. “Also try asking the internet for money. That’s what Mahmo does.” Coworker: “uhhh” Sam “Your wife could sell plexus or clothes out of donation bins. That’s not a real job so it’s ok.” Coworker: “uuuuuuhhhhhhh”

Say what you want about how stupid and unrealistic this show is and it is deeply stupid and unrealistic even for an episodic crime drama but some of the visuals are pretty cool.

I really liked this one. I liked the overall story of two dudes trying to one up each other with random murders. The ending was a bit anti climatic but when you have to tell an entire story in about 45 minutes that usually are. Mention of Leopold and Leob which is a true life fascinating case in itself. Also personal stuff was kept to a minimum.

Life hack if you want a good price on a house or apartment find one where a violent crime took place. You can you usually get a good price on it. As for why no fix the bathroom. I don’t think Faith noticed. It was essentially a suicide so a few scratches on the wall are t really going to be a big deal. Also she did just move in. Almost every cop show / cop adjacent show does a Rear Window themed show. It’s a horrible trope. Then again I hated the movie so what do I know.?

Nice Faith centric episode. She told mom at one point that all she needed from her was a hug and later in the episode Will gave her Betty to hug. I really do like that both Amanda and Faith’s mom are still badasses. i actually really do like both Angie and Marion because i think Will needs some happiness in his life. Angie drama rarely plays out like you think it will. She isn’t a damsel in distress and Marion will likely be exactly what Will needs in a relationship.

Love the FBI chasing down dangerous and escaped serial killers aspect of the show. Hate hate hate the big conspiracy theory of lying because government shady stuff going on. REALLY not in the mood for government shady right now. But I do like the main character girl. I also liked the opening storyline and how it resolved with the last victim lady. One of the things I like is when the bad guy is a girl. So as of the first episode I am in a ok…lets see how this goes approach.

First off I need to confess that although I liked the movies, I had no interest in watching this series. Tried a couple of times but the first season was just nostalgia porn and I wasn't really into it. Maybe the time was right and I just needed something to binge the hell out of so I binged through this pretty quick. No doubt I missed a lot of subtleties because of that. The first two seasons I was tempted to drop the show because honestly I didn't care for Daniel or Johnny and their age old bullshit. What I did end of liking was ironically the karate brawls. I remember really taking note for the first time the one in the school. I thought that was really well done and just fun to watch. What also made the show fun to watch is that I often times kinda sided with Cobra Kai. The "good guys" were kinda annoying. Especially Sam. I really kinda hated her. She reminded me of "that girl" in my own high school with the doe eyes and helpless look who still managed to get several boys at once to drop their girlfriends to fight over her. I did understand Tory's rage. She had to work for everything she got while Sam was just handed everything and the one time Sam didn't get what she wanted (even though we later found out the match was rigged) Sam fell completely apart. Yeah Tory handled her rage badly and I think that is what made the Cobra Kai crew interesting. You (or at least I) understood their rage. Most of them were bullied kids or ignored kids. It was the adults in their lives who harnessed the rage for their own benefit. I also really liked Kenny's story. The and I understood why he didn't want to make peace with Anthony. My favorite character though was Hawk. The right amount of humor, strength and rage. I liked his story inside Cobra Kai and his reasoning for finally leaving. All in all not a bad show but I am thinking the ending will be predictable. The LaRusso's will win because they always win in the end and characters like Tory, Hawk, and Kenny will learn their lesson on how to lose with dignity because people like Tory, Hawk, and Kenny need to lose in the end.
