  1. Really good ending to the three parter. Stupid Home Alone kid. Of course he gets left on a sinking boat because he never pays attention to anything going on around him. Glad Lady Captain survived. Loved her reaction to Bobby’s heroics. Also really liked that the seemingly inept doctor came through in the end. Sucks that Lola is the one left holding the bag now that Julian is dead. With her criminal record she will likely do some time and Norman sticking by her is iffy this time. I did like that Julian was a criminal but not a complete asshole. Entertaining three parter. This bodes well for 911 on ABC.
  2. I am rewatching this on Amazon and not usually a fan of comedies but I find this one hits all the right notes and hate to think why the show wasn’t more popular and just wonder if it is a simple as people getting caught up in the Cuban thing, the remake thing and/or the Netflix thing? Not to mention the lesbian thing. It’s a it’s unusual that I like all the characters on a sitcom. But this show was actually both funny and heartwarming at the same time. Hard to do.
  3. New characters take awhile to mesh. Nina is a good fit because she has a history in the FBI universe and when the franchise does the inevitable crossovers Nina and her relationship to Scola will always be an easy bridge.
  4. I really liked Season 5 Episode 5: Desperate. All the characters worked for me and the story was interesting. Yes you can nitpick but I usually prefer not to. I liked the scenes with the teacher and the kids trapped in the mine and felt genuinely bad when teacher got killed and later when one of the kids walked past the kidnappers and said “they got what they deserved.” I thought it was a good moment. Yes it was fairly obvious that the dad was involved but it still hit all the right notes how quickly things devolved for him. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go down. No I didn’t feel sorry for him but I thought the reasons he did what he did made sense in a well…desperate way. Dude was about to lose everything so he thought up a crazy kidnap plan that got waaaaaaayyyyyy out of control. And I thought the escape from the mine was the proper amount of nerve wracking for this kid of show. Dont care about Remy’s back story.
  5. I watched in its original run and haven’t done a rewatch so my memory might be off but I do remember hearing that DC Comics (or whatever) held a pretty tight reign on the legacy characters and ended up making a lot of demands of the writers. If that is true the writers were limited in what they could achieve so kept writing what was safe but well….boring. I remember being very entertained by the Chloe and David pairing but then I always loved Chloe as a character and particular dark love storyline is the kind that I appreciate. I do not remember too much more about the season except that I groups I was a part of at the time were really pissed at the dirty done to Davis. …and not even just Doomsday. Davis.
  6. Everyone who isn’t in our main group/extended group (have we seen any of the non Maddie 991 group like Josh since the move to ABC?) are either evil or incompetent. In some cases both. And right now no one even in the 118 is believing Hen. So of course she has to be the o r to find Bobby and Athena. Although to contradict my entire post I want Lady Captain to do something heroic….and not die in the process. please 911 don’t kill Lady Captain.
  7. Damn it Lola. What have you done now.! But it looks like White collar guy is not all bad. If you don’t feel Bobby and Athena after this episode I have nothing to tell you. They aren’t perfect and danger is very much their kink but they do love each other. I wasn’t really feeling Hen’s story this week and thought it was just something to throw in besides the adventures of Bobby and Athena on the Titanic. Cash out guy really should have left without his money.
  8. It’s been awhile since I watched but I remember really liking The Chloe/Davis relationship and what it was TRYING to say about Chloe. Davis choosing her when Clark never did. I get that the show did NotJimmy dirty but I think it also did both Davis and Chloe dirty as well. It turned what could have been an intriguing idea into a mess.
  9. A bit anticlimactic but overall a decent mystery. I would much have preferred a story about a bunch of kids coming to the horrific conclusion that dad did murder mom after a terrible fight after weeks of them blaming her for something she did years before. But still this was a decent little story. It won’t reinvent the wheel or anything but I was entertained throughout.
  10. Saying “I loved you like a son”’might not hit the way you think it does to a guy who hates his father.
  11. Stan is being made to look hella shady which is either a red herring or because he is hella shady. Heck maybe both. Amy is kinda annoying but I think she truly believes in what she believes in. the confrontation scene with Stan and the town was well done. “What are you accusing me of?” “I think you know.”
  12. Logan and his fight with his girlfriend was really well done. He kept putting off telling his parents they were moving and even wanted to try long distance relationship with gf rather then move away from his parents….and his boat. Stan is a terrible liar. He is also kinda a jerk. That last lobb right at the guys face was definitely on purpose. Troy to Logan “do you think we’re this big happy family?” The fight Troy and Logan had in front of their sister was really well done. Stupid dog digging up clues.
  13. Oh good doing an episode by episode of this show. This kind of mystery is right up my alley and one of my favorite things to watch currently. So if it is half way interesting I am in. The Delenays looks like the typical family for this kind of mystery. Wealthy. White. Large enough to have enough red herrings and seeming close knit but with an air of something bubbling below the surface that the tennis matches picked at like an old scab. Always been a fan of Annette Benning and playing a recently retired married mother who disappears unexpectedly but we see in what amounts to flashbacks is going to be a fun roll. Hearing her talk about retirement is disconcerting….but probably true. Taking in a stranger for the night is ill advised. Letting her stay indefinitely is what murder mysteries are made of. Oh wait….
  14. So the episode is about when to keep a relationship alive and when to let it die? Lola and Norman…I love when the show brings back past characters. Athena coming up with a mystery just to avoid being alone with Bobby. Actually that would be a fun 12 episode mystery on Netflix. Just saying. now that the terrorists have arrived Athena and Bobby will have something to talk about.
  15. Two of the key reasons reality tv is so profitable is that the people on it are NOT considered actors so they are nit in the actors guild or protected by it. It means two things really in this case. The producers likely went to uneducated poor desperate people and offered them more than minimum wage to make asses of themselves on tv. The second thing is that children on reality tv are NOT protected by Hollywood child labor laws because they are technically not part of Hollywood so Mama June likely got a check for Alana’s work and put it in her own bank account and it is completely legal. This is one of the many huge reasons I vehemently dislike any reality show based on cute kids. The kids have zero protection and zero rights. And worst of all by the time they are adults themselves the money is almost always gone.
  16. The Wheelers always were fun. Abby’s joy at seeing someone from her dad’s past and then the whole thing with the psychic was well done. I liked that Dan said the secret phrase. This has always been about Abby and Dan but this made it more so.
  17. I was thinking that it really is a sad world we live in that a father/son activity that was actually pretty cool and educational would be second….and third guessed. Because Ormwood using what he knows to show his son how cool science and math could be should be applauded….but the world we live in.
  18. I am actually enjoying Ormwoods story. What we have here is deeply flawed people. Ormwood cheated on his wife and is just now realizing what that might cost him. He is not a bad dude just one who like he told his son (paraphrasing) ignored responsibility too long and is now trying to make it right. And yeah making a gun for your kid to take to school might seem like a cool project and it was a cool thing for them to do but it will probably get the kid in trouble.
  19. I want Will Trent learning Spanish have a payout by season’s end. Like some big bad guy speaking Spanish and giving some big clue or location and Will pretending not to understand but does.
  20. I watched this on a whim and it was better then I thought it was but then this kind of gothic mystery is really my type of show anyway. I really thought Ruth Wilson and Daryl McCormack played their rolls well. I also really love the small town cop who had a history in the town all his own. All in all a really good mystery and it ended pretty good as well. I liked that the ending was bittersweet and that there was no supernatural aspect to it. Just a mentally ill woman/woman deep in trauma who murdered someone and then in forgot where she hid the body. All in all a pretty decent story with a good ending.
  21. Unpopular opinion but I think this might be my favorite of the FBI’s. I enjoy the COTW more on this show even with the high turnover. I discovered all the season on Peacock of all places and rewatched the Jess Lacroix episodes and I found most of them at bare minimum entertaining. I liked his gf that he got the last few episodes and wish that story could have continued. plus I really like Hana. Remy is good enough even though his personal story does nothing for me and much preferred Jess and being a single father learning to live again over whatever is happening with Remy and his dead brother but it is still not enough to sour me on the show.
  22. Holy crap Batman. Just found out some of my family might be planning a trip to Punta Cana in the summer. I was invited to go. Plans have not been finalized but……is this maybe I should start my gofundme page now or try to get you all to send me grift money for my vacation.
  23. Will and Angie are most likely endgame. Season 1 was there in large part to highlight why they were bad for each other. I already see this season is going to be more why they have stayed friends all these years. You saw it in the pool scene. They know each other. And when Will told Angie he wanted to date Cricket she acted rather adult about it. These are two people who have been down a long road together.
  24. I REALLY want to like this show but I think it falls into the category of tv I don’t like. Zero sum shows. Those shows stuck in their own VERY limited premise. In this case it’s generational poverty. No one can get ahead. Darlene the vegan has to take a job in a meat plant because she is sooooo desperate for a job and becomes obsessed with saving the life of the rat living in her house. The entire situation now is about hopelessness and I just don’t find comedy in that. Now as a drama…… I liked the original because although Roseanne and Dan were terrible with their money the show ended with a shred of hope that even though both her daughters made mistakes they were working their way out. The new iteration has Darlene’s kids not even having that shred of hope. I got tired of Shameless for the same thing and that was a drama. Why would I like it in a comedy?
  25. I think the show just wanted to have “a moment” between Bev and Jackie before you know real life happens. It was a beautiful moment considering all the iterations of the show have one thing in common and that is Bev never being the mother Roseanne or Jackie wanted/needed. This was just a “sorry….now I am going to ride off into the sunset” moment between Bev and Jackie. No need to read too much more into it then that.
