I think my post about Gerrard not being such a bad guy was minored a bit. Evil like everything else has layers. Bobby could work with Gerrard and offer him something better than revenge on Hen. Plus Gerrard is still a firefighter so his loyalties would align more with Bobby than Ortiz. Yes he got something in the end but Ortiz was the worse of two evils so I am ok with the way Gerrard’s arc ended.

Slow start and I am glad the show isn’t going with the evil politician making the 118 split up story because that would have been baaaaaaaaddddddd. I am glad that Gerard turns out to be not such a bad guy after all and ends up switching places with Bobby so Bobby can go back to the 118. Also it is nice when a couple can say how they feel and no one gets hurt feelings. Bobby not wanting to live in a house that Athena’s ex designed makes sense and Athena agreeing they should design the new house together is what adult relationships do.

The cast of this show is always really good and “Accused” is better than most at telling both/all sides of a particular issue. Road Rage is a real thing but it usually comes from some other place. Some other stresses in your life. That all being said April was way out of control. Buuuut on the other side the guy who cut her off was driving like a maniac was a douchebag and it was only a matter of time before “something” happened. Side note : Taylor Schilling’s characters really like going to prison.

Yeah this is probably going to be a hard pass for me. Not a big fan of prequels. I didn’t like Young Sheldon and I really don’t like this. Gibbs has always been a problematic character to begin with and setting a series so soon after his wife and kid’s death is going to just highlight how problematic but also praise his worst traits. I did however like the idea that he failed his psyche but because of the time period and other factors it was swept under the rug.

I think this show really WANTS to be something but it just hasn’t figured out what yet. I am trying to think back to the early days of 911 and what I thought about that show and thinks This show wants to be the high seas version of that but it is getting lost in a boring romance plot when it could be focusing on whatever weird week is going on this week. I am curious if the show will do a gay week. A bunch of high income gays/lesbians written by RM would be a hoot.

Great end to the disaster plane crash epic. I know some people don't like them and sometimes they don't work but when they do they are fun to watch. I thought this one worked really well especially part 2 but part 3 also was really fun. I loved the kid and actor guy. Plus I love how the old couple continued to be helpful. Athena and Bobby are a mood. Really thought the scene where the plane stopped right in front of Bobby standing on the stolen fire truck was really well done. I actually forgot there was a story going on with the guy who killed Athena's old cop boyfriend but I liked that it was quickly ended. It was really just a way to get Athena on the plane so she could save the day. Yeah I get people who don't like Athena might get annoyed with Athena the hero but this is that kind of show. Athena IS A HERO and Bobby will always be there to save her. That is kinda the point.

Honestly I watch this show for the guest stars. I will skip a week if I don’t care or if I haven’t heard of the main star involved. It is nice to see that prison hasn’t cost Felicity Huffman a step. She always was my 2nd favorite Desperate Housewife. The story seemed vaguely realistic but the acting was solid which makes up for it.

There is a newish trend I have noticed over the last few years. Maybe since Covid or maybe since everyone has their entire life online. Well anyway the trend is highly educated women romanticizing the tradwife lifestyle. I mean in theory it sounds great. You sit at home do a little laundry. Maybe make hubby dinner but mostly the day is yours. It probably sounds like heaven to Bri. No responsibility except laying under her husband a couple minutes once a week. It’s when the kids start coming that the tradwife lifestyle gets real but by that point it is far to late to tap out without some serious ramifications.

I am not sure what this show is trying for. It is not a romance and it is barely a murder mystery. I actually liked Stana Katic character in this. Don’t care even a little about a bad accent. I would 100% be fine with a horrible accent if this show was better but it’s so…..bad. Stana Katic was the best thing in the episode.

There is also literally no stress to have sex. The exact opposite. This courting seems to be the best time for the female in fundyland. You get all the benefits and none of the drawbacks. You aren’t even left alone with your supposed love. The minute you tie the knot however it is the reverse. All the drawbacks none of the benefits. Jill’s “smell you coming” story might sound sweet coming from anyone else. We all have those weird stories that mean something to the people involved but don’t translate well to internetland. That being said everything coming from Jill has this eery vibe to it. She just makes every sound like it comes from a stepford wife who gets kicked out of town for being too stepfordy.

“9-1-1 what’s your emergency?” “Yeah uh…about that…does anyone in dispatch know how to land a 747?” By this point Bobby and Athena should be able to travel just about anywhere and anyway they want first class for free. of course Athena is going to land the plane and of course kid is going to help heR. I really liked the moments of all the bit players helping out each other and we get a meet cute with girl with dog and panic man. BOBBY ANSWER YOUR PHONE! The team Captain speech made me remember that is us how Yellowjackets began. I can’t wait for season 3. Love that Bobby is not the least bit surprised Athena is flying the plane. “What else would she be doing.”

Show has its issues but the monologues especially by Niecy Nash are on point

Ok disappointing that no one is commenting on this. But considering this is a CW show it’s not half bad. It has potential. But then I tend to like shows focused on females that are t strictly romance. There is a possible romance but it isn’t necessary for the plot. It can go completely of a cliff real fast but for now I am in.

Mattie might not be too old if she was a partner. Then again not the law field but my brother made partner in his company and has to retire at 65. There us a bunch of reasons for it one being turnover in partners means that the company will have new ideas instead of being stuck with old ones. That being said Mattie isn’t going for a partnership. She is applying for what is basically entry level and that is definitely something you would side eye at least a little.

The romantic aspect is still the weakest aspect by far. No chemistry at all. Plus I hate the trope of cop who leaves a date to solve a crime. I would have dumped his ass. The mystery aspect was better. I am always happy to see a cylon on my tv. I am glad Aaron Douglass has gotten a decent part in this.

Oh come on people. Slide looks hella fun. Water is a bit dirty. Actually a lot dirty. But Little Chaos Theory would have definitely gone down the slide at least once. The slide wouldn’t have been the issue. The water….maybe. Now looking at it grown up Chaos Theory just thinks that there is no way I would net neices and nephews anywhere near that death trap. Being a grown up sucks.

There is a certain amount of suspension of disbelief needed for the premise to stick. One of the weird things I have noticed and hate is that people’s ability to handwave “details to move plot forward” has almost completely vanished. Not sure if it has always been the case but I blame reality tv. I think it is just a small detail of old lady wants back into workforce with semi real resume. I think that is one of the things the show did fairly well. Kathy Bates didnt just expect a job she bartered for it. “Let me work on case. If I am useful then hire me.” If was good tv logic. Plus I like the whole “no one sees old women coming” aspect of the premise. The mystery of which lawyer buried information is something that can only really last a season before it needs to pivot in some way but it is a good season long mystery and Kathy Bates’s character true identity maybe a couple seasons but the show has promise.

Not sure if it’s intentional or not but Neicy Nash’s character reminds me of John Lowe from AHS Hotel. They have the same troubled intensity. Also a lot of the camera angels are making me think back to the cop hunting themselves trope. I continue to enjoy the relationship between alcoholic cop and earnest reporter nun. And some of the shots are actually really well done. I get that this isn’t for everyone but it is intriguing and spooky and I will continue to watch.
-
Alcoholic cop and earnest nun solving a twisted crime. I kinda dig the idea. I am usually a fan of Ryan Murphy’s stuff and this has potential to be creepy fun but It also has the potential to pretty quickly fly off the handle. That being said I am so far enjoying the mystery of it all.
-
Less Ryan Murphy more Shonda Rhimes but in a bad way. Maybe better put if Ryan and Shonda Rhimes had a baby that inherited all their worst traits. So so much wrong with this. And I am not even nitpicking. I hate it when people nitpick. “That’s not how that machine works….took me completely out of the show.” I just think the show should have avoided the obvious romance and focused on the rescue stuff. Plus I like the concept of “work like a captain. Play like a pirate.” And would actually like to see more of that. if this is a glorified romance I am tapping out.

Beenado - ha. Athena now must protect the dude she actually wouldn’t mind murdering. Athena doing the flight hop. Gerard does not like Buck who is actually being very competent. And yay boyfriend is still around. Poor Eddie and his unfortunate mustache. Bobby does Hollywood

Saving souls is hard work! edited to add: The weirdest thought entered my head after seeing picture of Rid girls behind bars. If the Rod girls were in prison they would at least be fed and probably better food then Jill makes. Prison food which is notoriously bad is still better then Jillslop. Plus the outfits are a step up….but pants….so we need to reconsider.

Looks like the typical police procedural with a consultant because cops can’t be trusted to solve their own crimes. At least the reason why the woman is there makes some sense. She is the kind of smart that makes living in the real world difficult but couldn’t help herself and helped solve a case and cop in charge offered her a job. I mean it makes some sense.
