  1. There's a song with samples in it I love and at one point it's a woman saying "You think you're big? You're not so big." And I think of that often watching reality teevee. You think you're big Chenelle? You're not so big. She figured that saying straight out that she was in no way ever risking her vote on the way to tribal tonight would make Omar 'save' her vote for her then she could go ahead and risk it to get the extra vote. Not quite. She thought she was the puppetmaster and as she said 'my social game is so good that I decide what happens even when I don't have a vote.' How'd that work out for you? She thought they'd just go for her crazy 'Guys vote/girls vote' split for no reason but it was the only way to save her ass. Turns out, you're not so big.
  2. I'm really sorry I can't come up with any other word to describe the young guy but 'dweeb'. I mean "cute and sexy" would not be adjectives I'd chose for him!! But then they've been dating since they were 17 and are 21 now? You can project a lot of things onto people when you are that young and have been dating that long. I mean I don't see him as a hunka hunka burnin luv like she apparently does. She obviously has never really considered other guys to connect with before... Oh and did I mention how freakin' young they are? I mean they needed a ride from mom or rode their bikes for their first date at the town fair.
  3. Similiar yes, I guess he's a mixed martial arts announcer. Most wrestling announcers have a 'character' and/or side with the good or bad guys so they tend to be more umm expressive? I dunno about MMA announcers I guess they have to sound excited? I just don't buy this guy though... like if you r voice goes 1 to 100 he always starts at 80 and goes up from there and it annoys me. They are doing it for charity money (which is Metta's excuse to stay on this show so far...) and yes they are in 0% peril but fear they may be killed at any moment. *eye roll* Good night good work, we'll most likely kill you in the morning.
  4. She has a full Daria tattoo on her arm which is just like having a 'Warning: Drama Ahead' sticker on her arm...
  5. The announcer is a wierd combo of a super expresssive and unique voice that at the same time sounds completely detatched. I've not heard anything quite like it. Were I looking for a host I'd have said 'Okay, NEXT!' after his first read-through in interviews. Not engaging/warm just... odd. The other stuff I can overlook for a 'poke at' but I'm not sure if I can handle the hosting. ETA: Oh, and I've seen this movie about Metta who may quit at any moment before and didn't like it the first time!
  6. My thinking on Maryanne is like my thinking on kids especially in the super cute stages... I love to take them to the park and chase them around and get in tune with the wonder they see in life and... then have them go home with their parents. It's not a 24-7 kinda thing which I know I wouldn't be able to handle. That's Maryanne. She seems crazy fun to be around and a little infectious what with that smile to light up the place but then I like turning off my tv and her not being next to me when, say, I'm trying to sleep.
  7. In the beginning the second there was to be people needed for running she got herself ready to go without really being 'nominated' she just flew on out of there... so yeah she obviously thinks of herself as a big asset to the tribe but her opinion and reality? Might not exactly match up.
  8. Okay... so... Lithium needs near constant blood work to make sure you don't enter into 'Lithium Toxicity' territory. The issue I'm sure was that they could in no way get said testing for him while on the island. It did seem as though he looked up 'How long does it take Lithium to exit your body' on the internet and attempted a self-ween which was mighty dangerous. I say it was a self-ween because he seemed to be taking the 'it out of my system now so nbd' angle not understanding things a doctor would have told him about the process. They couldn't have another Hantz situation where someone really loses it out there and is a danger to himself and others. Lithium is also one dehydrating bastard just as a side effect let alone exacerbated by, say, living on an island with no food and hard to attain water. Granted it was 30 years ago when I was a teenager that I was on it. I couldn't take the constant bloodwork and my newness to the whole mood disorder thing and coming to terms with it etc. A doc that wanted to push his own research not my health quickly led to me pushing into the toxicity range. Not a fun thing. Not something the show could risk. Going off lithium, especially on your own, can have huge mood rebound repercussions down the line. He was 'a few days' from that possible no meds rebound period when he told them 'Oh btw I just weened off Lithium.' It seems a little careless of the show to play 'wait and see' and a lot careless of him (and his health mental and otherwise) not telling. His was obviously a story they desperately wanted to tell so they let his health potentially slide for a few days then decided it was not a good call. Mental health IS health people. I fear the lesson here though will get lost in the transgender discussion which is a shame.
  9. BTW - It seems that each of these are containing peeks at individual couples before mid-month when the full episodes drop. The first two were different even if they may look the same in a listing!
  10. Yes, this little present dropped onto my Tivo from the teevee gods yesterday. Whoo!!
  11. So you could say that she also "lost" the vote, pretty on-brand actually!
  12. Well, as I've said from the get-go I like Meischa and I was happy to see her win. I was MORE happy to see Toddprick NOT win though. I am cool with Carson winning fan fave too. As I've said before imagine the horror we would have been presented had he not been there to kind of light the place up. I know he's not everyone's jam but he's not putting on an act he's just that way and I respect people that are that sharp when it comes to comments of the top of their heads. So good for you. And thankyou Todd for the copious eyerolling, I feel ya man. Of course, I love me some bitter reality teevee jurors. This can only make me hope someone else casts this summer's episode because whoooboy this was NOT a good casting.
  13. IIRC he's been sober 7 years and Todd has been for 20+?? But yes it is very cool of Todd.
  14. Hah, I wonder whatever could have changed his mind??
  15. I was SO hoping Todd would win that comp after getting out to a lead... oh well. I'd have loved to see him have a chance at being the one to send Toddrick home empty handed. I am though a little upset/surprised that he said he'd vote for for Toddprick to win on finale night. Did I hear right that they aren't doing a three part HoH for the CBB final?
  16. Totally missed this episode until I decided to maybe give the clip show a shot and wondered why I had two recordings on my Tivo. Shows you how eagerly I await the next epsiodes... anyhow... I can't NOT comment on the slow moving trainwreck that was Toddrick's 'performance'. What in the entire fuck? I would feel bad for him I guess, but I really dislike him. I'm too indifferent to his me-me-me shenanigans to say I hate him or that I felt sorry for what a damned fool he was making of himself.
  17. Man, can you imagine if Carson wasn't there what a joyless dirge of a season we'd have been 'treated' to (or even more joyless...) Oh and yes the male UFC fighters are even worse in regard to weight cutting. It came up from amateur wrestlers always needing to "make weight" so it's pretty ingrained. Some are trying to change it and fight closer to a 'real' more healthy weight but change is slow to come.
  18. I kept looking at the time left and shaking my head that it wasn't over yet... lots of FF tonight even more than usual!! That was really an excruciating episode. And of course we know how they LOVE to do these big intricate showings of how the person who everyone knows is going home MIGHT not be actually going!! This one was even LESS believable than most. And the Veto was straight up guessin' as if it wasn't hard enough then they added extra items, changed the item colors and all kinds of other shenanigans as if the straight up moving around wasn't enough! I'm with Lamar on this one, 'C'mon man!' indeed. There are four weight classes (the lightest is new) in the UFC for women. Meisha is fighting in her return to the UFC in a lower weight class after previously being in her more natural weight class. This way she is the bigger competitor come fight day and has a percieved edge. But it's of an oft debated safety how they 'cut' to get there. It's a lot of sweating and depleting yourself until you get on the scale. After that you can re-hydrate and bounce back a bit before the fight. But yeah, I respect the dedication on her part. She may not be a sparkling personality or wit, but I think she is very interesting person.
  19. And that he revealed his plan to vote her out while they were all casually sitting around. He is the ultimate wild card. You never know what he'll do next! It's like how pro poker players say people that have no idea how to play are difficult to play against, you can't plan on them doing the 'normal' thing. I have to say I'm glad Todd woke up for the comp. Unreal he got every drink right. But I have to say I love his voting style "Evict Shanna!" and he's out of there. That's so comforting after being bombarded with post-voting shoutouts for years.
  20. That was just so... odd. And a tidge repulsive... I mean he was really gettin in there, and then the apparent stacking and unstacking of the bit off pieces? *shudder* I was waiting for him to lean over to Todd and say "Wait a minute this show goes out LIVE??? [shocked pause] Yea sure, next thing you'll tell me that people can watch us 24 hours a day!" She initiated a few quick hugs then beat it, fuming, out the door without even taking her bag she wanted out so bad.
  21. The best thing to happen here was that we got a welcome back from the fish tank and I picture someone behind hte scenes yelling "Cut to fish! CUT to FISH!!!" that thought entertained me more than did the whole sad episode. My I guess unpopular opinion here I was happy to see Kirkpatrick bounced. I guess he was tripping on his 'integrity' but I was getting sick of his smarmy attitude and over-evaluation of his own gameplay. Man this season is weak... especially considering the number of people that obv. have/had no idea of what the game is or even the basics of what is happening... hello Kattan, Todd and esp. Lamar.
  22. There hasn't been such a dazed and confused HG since good ole 'wrong side of the vote again face' Fessy. Kris Kattan seems to live in his own little land of confusion. Did he say 'If she wanted to stay why couldn't she?' Well Kris that's because you voted her out, remember the vote?? Okay, do you remember what you had for breakfast? Maybe? It really was sad to see so many people not even give the comp a real try. That was shameful! Meischa Reiley should target those floaters instead of this do-or-die mission to get Carson out. She can obviously win any comp she's allowed to play in. She will need someone else to come through with a win next week now, or she's in trouble. The question isn't can you win, it's SHOULD you win. Though I agree, it's not like her target can be any bigger. I think they're partly miffed she's trying to bust up this little vacation with the stars everyone else is living. She's a constant threat until back doored and they can then all live out their little vacation until the most popular kid wins. Ugh.
  23. Well, you know what they say... if life gives you melons... you might be dyslexic! The only signs that I found harder were the ones that weren't in white, some blended in more due to that.
  24. I bemoan the loss of the key wheel every episode I see people go up on the bluetooth screen. Those looks of relief when someone before you pulled your key but you thought you were in trouble were gold... BRING BACK THE KEY WHEEL!!! The HoH did load the wheel but it started with the HoH determining who was the first person safe and that person pulled the next key and passed it along 'Kris, you are safe.' and so on. I think that's what was meant.
