The pressure on those four oldest girls must have been immense. The boys were feral, and learned their trades by tagging along with JB. All of those boys got financial assistance to launch their businesses. No way they could do it on their own, like the Rod boys are forced to do.

I do think JB has yelled at Michelle behind closed doors. He's admitted to having a temper. He probably yelled at the kids, too. But Meech disciplined the kids with her eerie whispering. I imagine the kids were comforted by their sister moms after discipline. I believe they were trained not to cry, but I bet Jana, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger wiped away some tears.

At least JB didn't physically abuse Michelle or verbally abuse her in front of the kids. That we know of.

Kelly seems to be staying there during Jane's treatment. Michael has been there, but it's unclear how long she stayed. Gil's siblings are there, but I don't know how much help they provide. Hopefully, they are around most days. Kelly can't stay there indefinitely.

I think the word that best describes Jill's emotional state is mercurial. She seems to change rather abruptly at times.
