  1. My memory is that Ardelia said it to Clarice at some point. I don't have the episode on my DVR anymore otherwise I could pinpoint it more specifically. I would be happy to be proven wrong though so let me know if you catch it too or if I need to clean my ears more thoroughly.
  2. Yeah, 1993 was more "I sent you a message on your pager" time in my mind. Will be curious to see how carefully they control for these types of mentions and even with the production design choices.
  3. I get WHY they set it in 1993 in order to explore the immediate aftermath of Buffalo Bill and Hannibal Lecter and how it impacts her development as an agent. But there was a moment when someone mentioned texting that took me completely out of the story. I was a teen in 1993 but could you text on those big brick-like mobile phones? It just seemed like a sloppy overlook.
  4. She played Nicole, Luke's wife, on a bunch of episodes of Gilmore Girls. I had to stop and look her up on IMDB because it was driving me crazy.
  5. This is where I am with this. While there is a part of me that thinks, "She's 39 years old and isn't suffering from dementia or incapacitated in any way" I know nothing about her other than what has been presented to me via the media. But if there is any parent that should have some role in a convervatorship, I think it is glaringly obvious it shouldn't be her father. I've always been a fan and have followed her career pretty closely (not like the kids protesting outside of the courthouse closely but closely enough) and was always saddened by the way she was treated. Way back when I even wrote a nasty gram to Entertainment Weekly regarding their coverage of her and they printed it. #ShiningLifeAchievement Having some of the worst of it condensed into a single episode was almost too much. I found it all incredibly sad.
  6. THIS. I could not get past the stupidity of not simply exiting the shower OR given the fact that it was one of those "right over your head rain fixture" thingys simply moving out from under the spray. That shower was plenty big enough for him to move away from the water.
  7. No, I totally get it and this last year hasn't helped AT ALL. I have no recollection of when things premiered, what is actually eligible, etc. And some groups altered the eligibility periods. Time is just one big, amorphous blob. I barely even know what day it is.
  8. Thrilled for Jodie but just reminded that Season 4 hasn't even started filming yet. I'm going through withdrawal! 😭😭😭
  9. Normal People was eligible for LAST year's Emmys and sadly, took home none. All I can recall of the nominations was Paul but there may have been a writing nod in there too.
  10. Caught up with a couple of these over the weekend... Counterfeiting was absolutely fascinating. Watching the process of manufacturing these counterfeit bills was just mesmerizing. It's not something I've ever given much thought to given all of the stylistic bells and whistles they've added to U.S. currency over the last few decades - I guess I just didn't realize that it was still such big business. Steroids was absolutely disgusting. I have a thing about needles so watching a constant stream of injections is not my idea of a fun Sunday night. 🤢 Also where do these people get their ideas about body image from? I found all of the users and competitors to be physically grotesque. I know the bodybuilder world has different standards as to what constitutes an attractive form but 🤮. But it was interesting to see her sources be so open and unmasked in comparison to the other episodes.
  11. I had to change my DVR setting because it was picking up the First Looks but not the actual episodes. I've only just seen the Fentanyl episode and it was jaw-dropping. You couldn't pay me enough money to get that close to that stuff. And I've always heard rumors about drugs being smuggled in coffee to confuse the sniffer dogs but who knew mustard was a tool in their arsenal as well???
  12. I binged this over the weekend. With the first 2 episodes I found myself wishing for a more experienced filmmaker to take the reins but realized that would have completely negated one of the primary purposes of this. I don't think a more objective documentarian would have secured these interviews or evidence and I also realized how important it was to witness Madison's maturation throughout the show's progression. His father is a GRADE A asshat and in my humble opinion, a murderer. It's telling that everything we saw/heard of Jeffrey was either archival footage or obtained surreptitiously. His "denials" smacked of "this is why they can't prove that I did it" rather than "of course I didn't do it." Every other person whether they were under a cloud of suspicion or not, looked Madison in the eye and stated unequivocally that they had nothing to do with the murder. And I'm no body language expert but I believed them. Sure, I had some doubts as each new strand was revealed but ultimately, nothing that was presented was as damning as Jeffrey's own behavior. Woe is me, I'm such a victim. GTFO with that nonsense, you selfish, lying prick. I really do wish for his own sake that Madison finds a way to cut ties with him for good. I'm not sure what's up with the Madison PD but they certainly botched the entire investigation spectacularly. I don't know what the murder rate is like in that part of CT but everything about how they approached this read as suspect to me. Not suspect in that I think they had something to do with it, but I just don't understand how you have a primary suspect a few days after the murder as well as DNA evidence and then sit on your hands for 10 years. Something stinks in suburbia. Oh Aunt Conway. I sincerely hope she gets the help she so obviously needs both for her alcoholism and her abandonment and resentment issues. Something tells me this family won't have any problem following CDC guidelines and avoiding a big family Christmas gathering.
  13. I agree. I would have peed my pants and then ran. I was curious whether she had any type of personal security with her aside from the crew because some of those meetings were SKETCHY. I definitely noticed that too. It made sense to me though as the Jamaicans talked about imperialism and colonialism and reparations and working for peanuts at luxury resorts, etc. Not to say that it excuses their behavior but their motivations were, I think, easier to stomach than simply, "I want to make a lot of money" which Moshiko was not shy about. This is why I NEVER answer my phone unless you're in my contacts or I'm expecting a call from a vendor or service provider.
  14. Has anyone else watched this? I watched the first episode last night which dealt with the ubiquity of scammer operations in Jamaica and Israel. You know, the super sketchy calls you get from an unknown number that tell you you've won $19 million and can claim it by forking over a measly $100,000 "processing fee"? It was simultaneously fascinating and terrifying. I'm looking forward to future episodes.
  15. That was the intention but just like with Big Little Lies, everyone involved is just thinking 🤑. Although I can't imagine this was a cheap show to produce. I wouldn't watch a 2nd season.
  16. This definitely worked better as a binge for me but man oh man, what wasted potential. As the final credits rolled I just kept saying, "That's it? No, really, that's it???"
  17. Finally finished this last night and I think I'm officially ready to put my fascination with these people to rest. I don't need second seasons of any of them.
  18. India and Catherine appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday. India said that at the sentencing hearing the judge had indicated that he was prepared to sentence KR to 54 years. And then the witnesses spoke and KR called them all liars and expressed no remorse and then...🤭
  19. In one of the interviews with India I've read she denied that anything sexual or romantic happened between her and Alison. BUT she said that Alison wanted it to happen. 🤷‍♀️ India and Catherine were on Tamron Hall's show yesterday. There were a LOT of technical difficulties with the interview but it was very heartening to see that their relationship seems to be in a very good place now.
  20. Post sentencing interview with India: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2020/10/keith-raniere-nxivm-india-oxenberg-court From the article: 🤬 But on Monday, the night before the 29-year-old would face her 60-year-old abuser—the NXIVM leader who subjected her and other women to depraved acts of physical, emotional, and sexual trauma under the guise of self-help—Oxenberg received two surprising voicemails. The messages were from a former good friend and NXIVM member who was still loyal to Raniere. The friend said she was calling from outside the hotel where she believed Oxenberg was staying. In the voicemails, the friend emotionally pleaded for Oxenberg to meet her and talk. “That really threw me,” Oxenberg told Vanity Fair Wednesday morning. “She said, ‘I just really miss you. We had something special…I would really like to talk to you.’” She made an even more desperate grab for Oxenberg’s heartstrings, the actor said, alleging that her mother was unwell and she needed a friend. “It was intimate,” said Oxenberg, who did not respond to the messages. The next morning, Oxenberg saw that she had missed another call from the NXIVM member. While walking into the Brooklyn courtroom for Raniere’s long-awaited sentencing on Tuesday, Oxenberg felt a tap on her arm. It was the former friend again. Fortunately, a courtroom guard intervened—safely ushering Oxenberg inside the courtroom.

  22. According to Frank Parlato: "Keith Raniere has been sentenced to 120-year in federal prison. The sentence is not actually as bad as it sounds because, with time off for good behavior, he’ll only have to serve 102 years. There were also a lot of special probationary conditions – but those will only kick-in after he finishes serving his prison sentence." Sorry, not sorry, but I LOLed.
  23. Victim impact statements can be found here: https://frankreport.com/2020/10/27/last-updated-300-a-m-the-sentencing-of-keith-alan-raniere-with-frequent-updates-as-the-hearing-proceeds/ Rot in hell.
  24. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET. I know that India intends to testify and I'm hoping a BOATLOAD of these other women do too. 🤞
  25. I think this was the first time I learned that his given name is Anthony. How does one get from that to Nippy? Tony, sure. Ant, I can see it, maybe. But Nippy?
