In the interest of full disclosure, I've never warmed up to Bindi's dancing, and at this rate, I probably won't. I just can't connect to it. And then there's the irritating fact that the judges will consistently give her undeserved high marks. So basically, her and Alec are the ones I want out of the competition next (and considering Carlos is still in, that is a tall order). I also don't like the fact that she shills for SeaWorld, though I probably could've overlooked that if I liked her dancing a bit more. That is how I interpreted it as well, they all did not quite fit in there and he graciously gave Sharna some seating space. Just poor timing. Edited to add that it was the first thing I saw even from the choreography clip before the dance, definitely a lot of similarities but I don't think Mia Michaels holds a trademark on dances about things that overpower you. I liked it and thought it was similar but not quite plagiarism. YMMV. Yes--the phrasing doesn't sound right even with the different context. Even with different wording, it sounds douchey. Just focus on yourself, dude.

No kidding. I know this is not the same show, but I just finished watching a 48 Hours show about an asshole who killed his wife (he had been given an ultimatum by his mistress to choose one woman to stay with, so naturally his solution was to kill his wife, foreseeing the added bonus of a 100k insurance money). The victim's family was grief-stricken and exhausted, but came to the decision to support the DA in offering a plea deal for a 16 year sentence. The arrogant jerk initially indicated he would accept it, until the day of the plea when he suddenly changed his mind and plead not guilty. Lo and behold, they go through the trial, and he was found guilty, and got life w/o parole. He is appealing, but I from my POV he was guilty as sin, and was glad justice was served.

I think Noah will have Sharna choreograph his Freestyle as his wedding dance; his girlfriend participate in one or two 8-counts of it, 'murica will go batshit crazy and he will win that tacky mirrorball trophy. Hey, this show redefines "anything is possible".

Yeah... I have absolutely no sympathy for the shooter. This was premeditated and announced. He even said he wouldn't hesitate to shoot cops. He sounds like a psychopath. The kid was also breaking the law by going into that garage, but I don't think he should have paid for it with his life. Jail time? Sure. But not his life. There were much better ways for the shooter to have handled this, and now he's gotta pay the consequences.

Anyone else catch the cast on the 2015 PaleyFest? (See link here if interested https://screen.yahoo.com/live/event/paleyfest-la-modern-family) I enjoyed the interview and camaraderie, and there were a couple of funny stories (to me the funniest ones this time around were Sofia's). I did get a slightly uncomfortable vibe from Ariel having to answer a question about her growth and maturity on the show and how she related to that. Then an older man in the audience was comparing her to Sofia Vergara--it just looked to me that she was not feeling it and at some point after the Sofia comparison even Sarah Hyland said she was not comfortable. Maybe I am reading too much into it....

Well that was thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks for posting, I usually have some difficulty finding the latest YouTube video, too many clips on the afterbuzz site. Mark was awesome. Such great insight on his part and very constructive feedback, great to see that side of him. He struck me as being very genuinely caring and committed to the show. t loved Anna's feedback as well. And I feared what Suri would do as the host, but she did a great job moderating.

I loved the twinkle in that one detectives' eyes whenever he described the escalating level of fear "frick and frack" had. I am so glad they all got their assess handed to them and justice was served. I did not catch how many years each has in their sentence, but I hope it was enough for them to never be able to taste freedom again. So the "aspiring hitman"/personal trainer killed someone to buy furniture from a store called "The Couch Potato"? Wonders never cease.

I had not even realized this show had started until about two weeks ago, not sure how the premiere passed me by since I had made a mental note to check it out just because of Taraji; I am one of those Person of Interest fans, and I hated that they killed her off. Luckily I was able to catch up with the episodes with the Fox app. And so far, I am loving this show. Taraji and whoever plays Portia are hilarious, and the rest of the cast is great also. I hope this doesn't go the way of Revenge, which I loved in its first season but got on my nerves pretty quickly into season 2, so I stopped watching it. I think the 13 episode seasons will bode well for the show in this sense.

Wow, I was not aware Rob Wade was even involved with the vision of the show. Interesting, but it doesn't bode well for the "ballroom content" on the show.

Manhattan Love Story - General Discussion
A.Ham replied to Primetimer's topic in Manhattan Love Story
Looks like ABC released the remaining episodes on their site (you do have to sign in using your cable provider's verification). They had up through episode 11 listed as available. I haven't seen them yet but plan to do so when I get a chance. -
Looks like I spoke too soon also! That was a lovely standard dance. Thanks show!

Pasha has been on the Mother Ship, Strictly Come Dancing, for a few seasons now. Anya had done it as well though I don't believe she has a celebrity this season, she does a pro dance every once in a while, though. . This. It's a move towards choreography that is more crouching tigresses than actual ballroom, in search of a fickle audience they've never had and are not going to get. Not in a consistent basis, anyways. All these pro dances choreographed by non-ballroom choreographers like Mandy Moore, in addition to the less than classy ones from Sharna, are not appealing to me. Would it kill them to have some (gasp!) actual ballroom content from the pros every once in a while? Maybe 4 pro dances per season? That isn't asking for much, is it? I don't mean to be so pearl clutchy, I am all for variety, but it seems to me that all we get is some diluted mishmash of ballroom-lite with everything else they feel like throwing in. I feel like I am watching the same choreography over and over.

I nev understood the term "hate-watch" until about the 4th season of this show. I always figured if you hate a show, just stop watching it. I must've been in a masochist mode all along, but last night was the straw that broke the camel's back. This show just reminded me of that horrendous, insufferable movie "August: Osage County". The people you root for, which are not many, just have the worst luck at every turn. The writing is so horrible and inconsistent, yet it feels like the writers think they are oh so clever. I am exhausted and done.

"Of course, for all I know, CBS might be planning the biggest crossover event of all time, when every freaking CBS procedural ends up teaming up to stop a threat. Although, I would pay money (OK, not really, but close), to see the Scorpion crew meet the Person of Interest gang. Sly and FInch interacting alone, would be must see TV. Walt though, would have to watch his mouth around Reese and especially Shaw!" Ok, the quote function does not work for me on the tablet, but this is made of pure win. This must happen now, all of it. Seriously.

S16.E03: John Cleese, Taylor Swift, Kevin Pietersen, Neil Diamond
A.Ham replied to maraleia's topic in The Graham Norton Show
Whenever I see Neil Diamond all I can think about is a news story from a couple of years ago that talked about Neil writing that song for Caroline Kennedy. Now, that song was before my time, but if my calculations are correct he was a grown man at the time and she was a child. Even the newscaster commented on the "eeewww" factor of that, since apparently the lyrics were not age appropriate. I tend to ignore Taylor Swift so I tuned her out for the most part. I did think it was funny that she wanted to know where to track down the New Zealander and Graham had to settle her down... -
I remember people having issues with last season’s pro opener to Jason Derulo’s “talk dirty”, but it really did not bother me, not the moves , not the costumes, not the song—I probably would have felt uncomfortable if the “lyrics” from 2 Chainz had been included (gosh, that feels like it was ages ago). This is to say that I don’t usually feel prudish about the numbers on this show, but tonight I did with the opening pro number. The outfits made the female pros look rather skeevy (which is a high bar given that we are used to seeing them in little clothing). I ended up having to fast forward through it. Anyways, I’m gonna try to limit my pearl clutching for now. Speaking of skeevy… oh, Michael… Here’s my theory: Michael took one look at Witney’s face and decided he needed to dial the creep factor about 10 notches right there. I am glad he did, but he still came across as a creepster. I could be wrong, but I feel like Emma does not feel comfortable around Michael, but does with Tommy. And that was her not-so-subtle way of letting America know. Yes, and then Erin had to go in and throw a little shade saying “I got good at getting 7’s” or some such or other (like she was low but still a point higher than him). I want to give her the benefit of the doubt and think she was trying to be helpful and it just sounded kind of wrong when it came out of her mouth. Having said that, I feel Jonathan was done a disservice by getting an overly ambitious routine, which lead to him not being really ready for it and for me to be really concerned for Peta in that routine. I certainly hope he survives next week. I really like Sadie's dancing in general (even though I could take or leave her family), but tonight for me was probably her worst dance. She looked really gangly, her legs were a bit too separate, and the routine was frantic. She'll come back and kill it next week for sure. Hmmm.. who did I like? Alfonso, but I agree that looked much more like a Paso than a Flamenco. I liked Lea, but probably not as much as I was expecting. On the contrary, Antonio was not the trainwreck I was expecting, but he did not have a high bar to meet. Tommy's mambo had its issues but I still prefer him over others (ahem, Michael). The rest were forgettable for me.

I like his enthusiasm, but the over caffeinated eyes have got to go. They kinda freak me out.

The show laid it on thick with pointing out how much the victim just loved her sweet angelic daughters. That's how I knew they killed their mother within the first few minutes of the show. The grandma was very young looking, if I were her I'd be concerned about any possible early release.

I would give my yet-unborn first child to have Wade Robson back as a choreographer. He is truly missed on this show.

http://variety.com/2014/tv/news/qa-nigel-lythgoe-and-tom-bergeron-on-the-state-of-reality-tv-1201219384/ Interview with Nigel Lythgoe and Tom Bergeron. I love how Tom is referred to as "charming host" and Nigel is referred to as "British judge" in the intro : )

I loved this episode, probably because there was a lot more diversity (after last weeks's ballroom ban I felt today made up for it). Happy for Alla and Serge in particular, I saw them live a few weeks ago and they were fantastic. It's shaping up to be a great season!

Me too! I searched to see if they would show or mention their names, but of course, the show did no such thing. I was particularly interested in this couple because the guy is a dead ringer for a friend of mine, and I want to rib him a bit for it. No, I did not see the Jay Leno resemblance, but now I can't un-see it, lol. Oh, well, maybe we'll see more of them in the callbacks. Please return, nameless ballroom dancers! I did like the snippet of dancing they showed for them.
