  1. Yup, me too. I thought "you're not actually going to believe they're going to go away so quietly". They had already started with vandalism. Time to call the police just for that.
  2. I really thought the actress was a Maggie Q doppelganger.
  3. So I know I mentioned last week that I had felt sorry for Xochitl for a minute there but that did not change my voting for Jason. She was probably getting the votes all along then. I mean, I’m not completely mad at the results but I guess out of the women she was a worthy winner. I did like her dances, except the samba. I remember watching her intro package and thinking based solely on her practice that she wouldn’t make it long, but then she surprised me with a solid Cha Cha. i did have to laugh a Milo’s “let me know how it feels” comment,
  4. Both of which were my favorites to win and not just be third place / runners up. Mya lost to Donny Osmond, whom I did not connect with, but he had enough voters that did, apparently, in that season. Normani placed third to David Ross, which was shocking to me; Rashad Jennings, the winner that season, was in my opinion not as technically good as Normani, but he clearly had more people voting for him and he had charisma as well. And he had the football background which seems to be a positive for the fans of this show.
  5. So I am not an ardent voter of this show... I did not get into voting until I perceived Lele to be in danger and that was the night she was voted off. This past week I threw votes Jason's way because I the scoring wasn't going his way and then crossed my fingers that my voting wasn't going to turn out like Lele's and I would be the kiss of death for my favorites. I was very happy he was safe. And then I must be feeling really sensitive because seeing Xochitl's face about to burst into tears made me feel bad for her and made me wish I had thrown some votes her way... I don't love a 5 person finale but I was glad Xochitl was spared. I am just curious who is actually getting the votes.
  6. Not sure why I am even spending time watching this, pretty sure I am hate-watching at this point. The lead characters are either insufferable or being humiliated. Ugh indeed.
  7. Ah, gotcha. I usually fast forward through anything that is not dancing (that makes it a 20-30 minute show) but last night I started watching earlier than usual so I could not fast forward as much... So, camera hog it is then. Me too. They were great but did not even win in their category, which I was not pleased with; particularly because the couple they lost to were less than impressive.
  8. I caught him smelling his armpits twice during Xochitl’s interview with Julianne. Well, my mom was the one to first see it and she was cracking up. No sure if he was purposely camera hogging or what, but there he was.
  9. Right? At some point they would have gotten a sizeable bill. There's no accounting department (or even person) at Hastings?
  10. Really bummed about Lele. I only saw one mistake dismounting from a lift, not several. I would have preferred she stay over several others. Then they lowballed Jason. I hope that doesn’t become a trend. I am once again an outlier, but I thought both Ariana and Charity needed a lot more oomph. It’s like they were marking their movements or something.
  11. Ok, I thought I was the only one that didn't always find humor in her crass behavior. She's certainly popular but not for me.
  12. Ah, this reminds me of an obscure West Wing reference: Toby Ziegler: We're gonna see to all those things. In the meantime, at a time when the public is rightly concerned about the impact of sex and violence on TV, this administration is gonna protect the MUPPETS! We're gonna protect Wall Street Week, we're gonna protect Live from Lincoln Center, and by God, we are going to protect Julia Child!
  13. For those who are interested, the Strictly Pros did a dance for Len as well for his retirement that he was able to enjoy: Strictly Come Dancing 2016 Final They also did another video this year remembering him as well A tribute to Len Goodman - BBC Strictly 2023
  14. So there are at least 3 celebrity ballroom dancing shows airing at the moment: DWTS--Tuesdays Strictly Come Dancing--Saturdays Mira Quien Baila--Sundays For me, the absolute best one is Strictly, the OG of celebrity dancing. Love that they still have great professional numbers in Ballroom styles as well as outside of Ballroom, like Jazz and Contemporary, etc. They have excellent Pros and do a great job of putting a show together. They have great routines but they don't make the DWTS mistake of throwing everything and the kitchen sink at a dance. Mira Quien Baila is a bit... low-rent. The stage seems smaller, they don't have any ballroom experts on the judging panel (one of the judges is an actress). The costumes are disappointing to me, or at least for my taste--my nitpick about them is that I do not need to see that many bumcheeks when watching people dance. Some of them outfits would make Edyta blush. On the other hand, they do have more authentic music as well as a lot more variety of Latin Rhythms, like Regional Mexican, Quebradita, Merengue and Bachata. They also do hip hop and urban dances, though those are usually rather disappointing. They have some good pros on their roster, so you can see some good dancing from time to time.
  15. The Len tribute already had me misty eyed. Then the pros all finished and looked at the chair he sat in all those years and tears were streaming down my face. RIP Len Goodman.
  16. Oh, you're right--I think she asked Maks in a rapid fire type of question to name the most annoying celebrity he had or some such. He clearly did not want to do that (don't blame him at all) and ended up not giving her a name. But she did try.
  17. So I just discovered that Cheryl Burke has a podcast! I am loving it! Interesting that she is already saying she's getting some push back, even an email from one of the Pros. I don't see anything wrong with what she is doing/saying. She talks about her experiences and gets others to talk about theirs; so far she has had Sharna, Brian Austin Green, Max, and Tom on. Tom was wonderful as always.
  18. You may be on to something here. But, not being too nitpicky, I am not sure if I want to watch a whole night of disco. If you throw in other genres like Hustle, West Coast Swing, and more non-traditional ballroom genres, that may make it more interesting. The list of genres they could try is quite expansive. I have always wanted to see Bachata acknowledged on the show as a dance form on its own, but that would veer us back to Latin night. Emo night--don't we already have that? Most memorable year--or as I call it, the Hardship Olympics. I have no objections to a new romantics night... Overall, non-Disney theme nights would be a welcome surprise.
  19. 😄 😄 😄 So on the first show I loved Lele and Mira, but both seem to be fizzling out. Lele needs more finesse and to not go so hard 100% of the time, and Mira needs a boatload of confidence. Maybe Mira is better suited to ballroom than to Latin. Jason, on the other hand, keeps going up in my estimation. He is just delightful. Also liking Xochitl's progress.
  20. Right? Who even has that kind of time? No wonder his house was a pigsty.
  21. Just watched “Losing Faith”. This was new to me. Holy $#**. What a manipulative, sadistic monster Jennifer is. She really took advantage of Darrin’s vulnerability with his PTSD. At some point the detective said they exchanged 24,000 messages. Dear lord. I was rather skeptical when they were going on about how Jamie was not the man people said he was, especially when they mentioned Jamie was texting Darrin from Jennifer’s phone. Uh-huh. I was also curious how they got all those pictures of young Darrin-likely he had spoken to Dateline staff to give his side of the story. She got her unsuspecting husband killed and a decorated war veteran to do her bidding in blind belief. Complete scum. I can’t imagine how Darrin’s daughters feel about all this. They are also collateral victims here.
  22. I had this on in the background while cleaning so was not watching directly, but from the get-go I got creepy vibes from stepdad and it didn't get any better from there. Poor kid.
