  1. Isaac's crush on Jo is a watered down version of George's crush on Meredith. wash, rinse, repeat, but not nearly as interesting or well done as the first time.
  2. Penny's a big girl. She could have just up and left that party at any time. She could have pulled up maps on her smart phone to figure out where she was and called a cab, phoned a friend, whatever. Even with Callie insisting she stay, even with Meredith trying to hold it all in, Penny knew that Meredith was just as uncomfortable as she was, if not more so. Callie didn't chain her to a chair. Penny could have left, but she didn't. Just like Penny could still have transferred to a different hospital regardless of Meredith's "blessing" telling her to not be late on Monday. Therefore, when she gets crapped on next week and beyond, I'm not going to feel sorry for her. Because she knows the situation that she's walking into, she knows what she's disrupting, but just like at the dinner party she's going to stay anyway.
  3. The time for Penny to have told Callie her connection to Derek was when Penny told Callie that she was transferring to Grey Sloan. Because clearly Callie knew that before the dinner party as she said, "I thought we were going to wait to tell everyone", and obviously Penny knew that Derek worked there ahead of time when Callie asked her about it outside and her lame excuse was, "It's a big hospital". How is any of that okay? And how is any of that Callie's fault? She didn't know that Penny knew Derek, but Penny knew Callie worked at the same hospital as him. Penny is an idiot who is being set up for a major redemption arc. Meredith is going to rise like the sun that she is, and Penny is going to become an amazing surgeon, and almost everyone else will take a backseat in screen time in favor of all the new characters that have joined the show in the last year.
  4. Fair point, she may well have. But it's still singling out a certain group when really the character touches on multiple fandoms that it could come from just about anywhere. My main point is that it's off putting that she singled out a particular fan base, no matter which one she was talking about. She's lucky she doesn't get crap, but then again that's only because no one is really "passionate" about Stephanie. lol
  5. I totally agree. And it's what frustrates me most of all. In all honesty, Penny's one appearance has laid enough seeds of drama for Meredith and Amelia and even Callie to where she no longer needs to be around, except for the fact that the show is going to milk this for all that it's worth and this will be "the arc" of the season. I just wish yet another new character addition wasn't coming at the expense of the 14 other series regulars who most have had very limited screen time. And this is not including the addition of Martin Henderson, whose character will also be front and center at some point.
  6. The only thing that is off putting about Jerrika's comment is that she emphasized "certain fans" as opposed to fans in general. Like Deanie87 stated above, she would be getting crap from a multitude of fanbases, yet Jerrika seems to be singling out one: Calzona.
  7. This. The last thing this show needs is another new character, and yet here we are. And Penny should've gotten the hell out of Meredith's house a whole lot faster than she did, but alas now the plot device is on the road to getting the Meredith Grey Seal of Approval. But first they are going to milk all of the drama they can out of the situation. So I guess between her and Martin Henderson's upcoming arrival, more screen time will be cut from others in favor of the new kids. By far the best part of the episode was Meredith first dropping the bomb and then Meredith and Amelia's heated exchange.
  8. Because Callie is currently being used as a prop for a random visiting character. It's a shame this show, with it's legion of cast members, is unable to utilize the characters they have effectively.
  9. The episode title isn't usually direct reflection of what happens in the episode, it's more like the theme of the episode. So it could be as simple as the theme being what happens when you don't speak up. That sort of thing.
  10. I think the season finales are actually scheduled for May 12th. So there may be a 2 hour Grey's episode sometime this season. But I've also heard that Grey's is 24 episodes and not the rumored 25, so who really knows for sure until there are official announcements.
  11. I actually hope that DeLuca doesn't go Peds, if anything because the show's been-there-done-that with the "guy who isn't into Peds going into Peds" with Alex. But this show recycles all the time, so, it's probably going to happen. The tip off? DeLuca's backstory into "I like kids, but"... these writers don't do subtle.
  12. I'm good with the new interns so long as their roles stay this way, servicing the story to bring back teaching moments and adding random funny/lightness. The second we start learning why Tommy does x,y,z and the name of his first pet, I'm out.
  13. Except Leah's ire was towards Callie, not Arizona, since she reported Callie to HR. And on what grounds would Leah have to sue Arizona anyway? Leah got fired a considerable amount of time after her fling with Arizona ended, and it was because she couldn't cut it. That's no one's fault but her own. Arizona's cash strapped because the writers, for whatever reason, want her to live with an intern. You know doctors don't make commission on their surgeries, and Arizona must have a contract with a guaranteed salary. There's no reason why she can't afford her own place except for idiotic storytelling.
  14. Hello pedestal, meet Maggie. She's going to be (forced) up there for quite awhile.
  15. Shonda just tweeted: "This season #TGIT #GreysAnatomy music is an interesting selection of covers. At least until I change my mind." Can she change her mind now? No bueno.
  16. George, Reed, Charles, Lexie, Mark, Heather Brooks, Derek. And Ellis, I mean she technically counts.
  17. Catherine said Bailey would be going up against an outside candidate.
  18. Owen's not Chief anymore (not that he was ever really a good one, in my opinion), maybe the title of his Topic should be changed?
  19. I feel like that hasn't been Shonda's M.O in the past few seasons, or at least it hasn't seemed that way as sloppy as they've been. LOL Though it seems like she's learned a lesson with PD's exit/the death of Derek in that she's "seeing how it goes" not only with storylines but with couples as well, because you never know when an actor will want to leave or some backstage shenanigans will force changes in the middle of the season.
  20. Hilarious! This is all I will see now. So does that make Sofia Zola's Kimmy Gibbler?
  21. If Shonda doesn't know what she is going to do with Martin's character, then why the need to hire him for a series regular gig? I understand the need to have some more male blood roaming the halls, but they've just added Ben and there is the new hot intern. Fine if it's necessary to have another male attending, but if you don't know how you're going to utilize him then why add him on full time? And how many rooms does Ellis' house have? Meredith, three kids, Amelia and Maggie. I don't think this show really knows what it's doing anymore.
  22. We know Justin is in the first episode because he was in Kelly McCreary's pictures that she posted with him and Sara last week. He's probably just talking about being back at work today. And Camilla tagging a picture with #reunited could be because it's the first picture of the season she is posting of the two of them for the public. Ya'll are reading way too much into a silly tweet.
  23. I actually liked Owen with Emma. Marguerite Moreau is a fine actress and I thought her and Kevin McKidd had some nice chemistry. Owen and Emma started off slow and if it had gotten a chance to, it could have become something pretty great IMO. They could've kept Marguerite on as a recurring much like they did with Jason George for however many seasons it's been. But of course that potential lovely pairing got sacrificed for Cristina and Owen's last romp before she left. Now we're stuck with Amelia, who, though already a Shondaland character fixture thanks to Private Practice, has somehow jumped all the other characters before her to basically be second-position to Meredith. And now with Derek dead, Owen/Amelia are probably going to be billed as the next!great!romance!
  24. I don't think that was always the case. I believe Shonda once said she had an idea of how to end the series, but then it became the show that would never end and now it's so far off from that point. Not to mention, I'm sure at least half of the characters that were a part of that plan are no longer on the show. So yeah, now it's anything goes and there are no guarantees for endgame romances or happy endings. Now it's "let's see where the characters develop organically". Because no doubt had Sandra and Patrick still been on the show to the very end, both MerDer and Crowen would most certainly be endgame. Since they are now no longer, and they arguably were two of the top couples on the show, no other pairing is truly safe. Except for maybe Richard/Catherine.
  25. Jesse, Sarah Drew, Kelly, Caterina, Camilla and Jerrika's contract are not up at the end of this year. (Well, not entirely sure about Jesse and Sarah... if they officially became regulars in season 7 and signed for 6 years then they will be up this year as well.) Kevin either had to resign after 9, 10 or 11, depending on if they gave him a 5 6 or 7 year deal. We just never heard anything about it. The major contracts up this year are Ellen, Justin, Chandra, Jim and Sara's.
