  1. I watched Joe & Mika on Colbert last night and while Joe dominated the conversation (as expected), what got me was Mika holding a wine glass during the interview. Really Mika? You can't even have a television interview without a wine glass in your hand? Was she taking sips when the camera was on Joe? It just comes across as so lazy and unprofessional. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that before, not even with a water bottle.
  2. Wow, that was really bad. I thought Sheldon Cooper was the most obnoxious and unlikable individual on Primetime TV, but we have a new contender. This show is just not funny at all and the character of Chad is the type that just makes me want to punch his face every minute he's on screen. Desperate, pathetic, cringe-worthy, rude, needy and obnoxious. If he were real, he's the type of male living in a fantasy world who in a few years would be shooting up malls, etc. and his Facebook page would go on and on about how he can't get a girlfriend. He needs to see a shrink ASAP. The only positive character seems to be his mother who so far, is very patient with him. One wonders how he grew up with this mindset when she seems to care about him and is not a stereotypical clueless and uninterested mom. I will not be watching future episodes.
  3. I laughed out loud when even Willie acknowledged at about 6:10am that if Mika were here, she would have shut down their sports discussions about "7 minutes ago." Everyone seemed happier and much looser without her there constantly trying to shut everyone up. Even Dr. Fauci said he was a Yankees fan. What I want to know is (assuming Joe was serious), what is Mika doing in the South of France? Is the country even open for vacations and is it Mika's habit to take vacations alone? I doubt it's a Know Your Value seminar in the South of France!
  4. Being a life-long Sherlock Holmes fan, I checked it out but found it to be utterly dreadful. The look is marvelous but the story was boring and the constant anachronisms kept taking me out of it. All I kept saying was, "Nobody refers to girls as "birds" in 1890's London, referring to a boyfriend instead of "your young man", etc. Also, to my knowledge, Dr. Watson was always a gentleman and NEVER a totally obnoxious dick! I found this even worse than Enola Holmes.
  5. I'm not a soccer fan, but it was pleasant this morning to have Roger Bennett and Joe discuss the games and the panel discussing baseball without Mika trying to shut down the conversation within the first 5 seconds. It only took about 5 minutes total. When you have a 3-hour show Mika, there's no reason to try to suppress all sports conversaion because you don't like it. I also enjoyed Nathan Lane's interview during the last half hour. God, I am so ready for Broadway shows to return. I live in New York and that was a staple of my life. It cannot return soon enough.
  6. I adore Linda Hunt and the Hetty character, but after 3 seasons, this has to end. If she can't be on the show more than once or twice a season, bring in someone new to run the team and have her show up as a special guest star occasionally. It makes no sense to have an absentee boss like this. Also, can I just say it's bad enough when Ne;ll wears jumpers, but these Amish/Little House On The Prairie dresses have got to go. I keep asking myself, "What woman wears this type of clothing and more importantly, where do you even buy it?" Unless she's making them herself.
  7. It sucks that we have to wait until the end of this year/early 2022 for Season 9 due to Covid. Normally, we'd be getting the new season on PBS here in the States right about now.
  8. I live in New York City, but my satellite service gets Connecticut PBS and they started showing season 10 last night.
  9. Mika doesn't read books, like sports, watch movies or television comedies/dramas. What the hell does she do all day? Is it wall-to-wall politics 24/7 with her? BORING! Talk about total opposites as far as Joe is concerned. Does he have to go into a separate room to watch sports, movies, tv or listen to music? I can just imagine Mika telling him to shut it off if they were in the same room.
  10. I, too, thought Joe would go after Matt Gaetz at the top of the show today but once he made the comment that he's know the family for years and Matt's dad donated to his campaign back in the day, I knew he wouldn't say a bad word about him. So I guess if they end up with incriminating evidence against Gaetz, it'll still be all hugs and kisses from Joe.
  11. This show really suffers when Willie Giest isn't there. As far as I can see, they haven't even commented on his absence. Is he on vacation or what? I find he really picks up the slack on covering the news because it's obvious Mika can't even handle reading a teleprompter properly.
  12. It is driving me nuts that no one on this show is wearing a mask indoors and especially outdoors. It is constantly distracting me as I'm trying to figure out why. Are they in an alternate reality or what? I can't focus on anything when every character is walking around outdoors without a mask and not social distancing. What gives? Even the mothership (NCIS) had the characters wearing masks in the last first run episode.
  13. We all tend to comment fairly often about how Mika can't read the teleprompter and mispronounces words, and maybe it's just me, but has anyone noticed that she also seems to have the same problem when speaking off the cuff? In the last week I've noticed many instances where she was just talking or responding to a discussion and kept mispronouncing the words. It's not something I tend to be aware of with other news people like Rachel Maddow, etc. or news people on other channels. Am I reading too much into this or has anyone else noticed it as well?
  14. Mika really annoyed me this morning. Roger Bennet (a UK sports announcer for soccer) came on to talk soccer with Joe. I've never heard of this man before but he does have a unusual way of speaking when it comes to sports. His language is somewhat flowery (for lack of a better word) but enjoyable. Joe was also enjoying himself. Would it kill Mika to suck it up for the 5-8 minutes of the segment and not act like such a bitch? She kept trying to cut the interview short (as she usually does with anything sports-related), but she just straight up said, "Can we get him off?" She was totally serious about this and implied she found the guy creepy. Why, because he had a Scottish accent and used unusual prose to describe sports that you never hear in the U.S.? I found it incredibly rude on the part of Mika to make disparaging remarks to a guest like that. Just because she doesn't like sports, or tv, or movies or any other form of entertainment doesn't mean the viewing audience might not be interested in what this sportscaster has to say from across the pond. She was be a joy to live with!
  15. Joe's 24-Hr. security is not just because of Trump criticism. Once Trump fell out with Joe & Mika, he has taken every opportunity to call Joe a murderer and like everything else, his cult buys into it. Not a day goes by on Joe's Twitter account that someone doesn't accuse him of being a murderer. It's always a random comment(s) in a thread that is about another topic. There are a lot of crazies out there (as we found out last week). I'd want security too in that situation.
  16. I thought Joe acted like a jackass this morning. The minute he opened up the floor to the other guests on their opinion of whether or not they should go ahead with a trial, etc. I knew there was going to be a problem. Anyone who disagreed with whatever Joe felt on the subject was going to get it. Was it Tom Nichols or someone else who stated that Congress was capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time (referring to the trial & doing their regular business)? Of course Joe went nuts. Joe only seems to want to hear comments from people that share his opinion. I'm no fan of Mika's, but that sarcastic comment to Mika about is it okay to drink his coffee - frankly, if I was there, I would have slapped him.
  17. Does anyone know why Trevor Noah is taking a month's vacation? He doesn't come back until January 18th and has been off since December 17th. Doesn't that seem excessive given the amount of time he's off during the year? Even Colbert, Fallon, etc. haven't taken that much time off during the holidays.
  18. I agree that Leslie Jordan was the best thing about this episode. Mayim's character is way too hyper. Is that they're way of saying she's eccentric? Fine, but it just comes across as too much. And don't even get me started on Swoozie Kurtz. I always liked her, but her face has become a cautionary tale for Botox overuse. She could barely open her moth. It was beyond distracting. I'll give it one more episode, but I doubt anything will improve. Bottom line is, it's just not funny.
  19. What the hell was that I watched? That was not NCIS: Los Angeles. This show needs to either get new showrunners and bring it back to what it's about or cancel it immediately. Hetty is basically gone, Nell is running the place without any real promotion except a say so from Hetty, Everyone seems to be living in an alternate reality where Covid doesn't exist. No one wears a mask. Callen and Sam never seem to team up anymore. In fact, no one does. The less said about Nell's outs, the better and Eric needs to be punched out ASAP! What an obnoxious jackass! I used to love this show and it's characters. Now, I can barely watch it. It's a horror show.
  20. You know, it's one thing to not bring in the Hannibal Lector character for this series, but to ignore him completely is utterly ludicrous. Clarice made her name on solving the Buffalo Bill case and her association with Lector. To ignore it like it never happened makes no sense. To not even have one character at the FBI comment on it in passing in the Pilot is insane. No one says they have to bring it up every episode. Just mention it in passing in the first episode and then move on. Not doing that is just a slap in the face. I wouldn't be surprised that if the shows' ratings start tanking, they'll have a special "event" episode where they find a way to bring in Lector just to increase the ratings.
  21. Maybe it's just me, but I have a problem with Joe leaving in the middle of his own show this morning to go do an interview on The Today Show. Wouldn't it have been better for them to tape the interview and run it? Joe just leaving like that comes across as yet another example of how he just doesn't seem to give a damn and does not appear to be serious about his own program. What next - a musical performance on CBS This Morning or some other show where he just leaves his own show for 15-20 minutes. Willie and Mike Barnacle had to conduct a book interview this morning from 8:30am - 8:45 because Joe wasn't available.
  22. I'm done with this show. I've watched it from the beginning, but it's become impossible. I love Hetty, but it's 3 years now that Linda Hunt has only done a few episodes a season. If she can't work full time any more, get a replacement or just have her guest star occasionally as retired Hetty. It's ridiculous to suggest that she is running NCIS when she's never there and mentioning her name a half dozen times an episode as a reminder is just stupid. I don't like the 2 new characters to the program and it seems like they can never have the full cast on at all anymore. Nell goes away for several episodes, now Eric is gone for weeks (in addition to Hetty). I hate this! This show hasn't been good since Owen Granger left. I like these characters, but the writing is all over the place. And yes, I agree, they are obviously living in a world where Covid hasn't happened. Who walks around L.A. without a mask like everyone was last night? And the less said about Nell's dress, the better.
  23. Just as a sidenote - Joe was off Monday & Tuesday. Wednesday he tweets that he just spent the last few days binge-watching the latest series of The Crown. Is it wrong that my mind immediately went to, "Did Joe take 2 days off to binge-watch The Crown?" I would have no trouble believing that.
  24. Good Lord, these people! If even half of the way the royal family is being portrayed is realistic (and I tend to believe it is), they are repulsive. What a bunch of self-entitled snobs and clueless jackasses. And Margaret Thatcher - It's just 24-7 work work work with her. No wonder her husband was always portrayed as a jerk. What did he even see in her? She's seems completely unable to relax and enjoy herself ever. It's truly sad. I found myself yelling at the TV screen, "Get out, Diana, before it's too late!" No amount of money, jewels, clothes, etc. could ever induce me to put up with all the crap she had to put up with and deal with these horrible people on a daily basis. Screw em! I will say the actress portraying Diana is doing a marvelous job. She really captures her well and the re-creation of the clothes are fun to watch.
  25. I was surprised that no one (including other MSNBC commentators like Maddow & O'Donnell) didn't bring up Trump responding to a question by Savannah Guthrie that he didn't answer by smirking and saying "You're cute" in a condescending way. I would have stopped him dead in his tracks and called him on it. He never would have said that to a man. Or have we just reached the saturation point on Trump's sexist pig behavior that no one even bothers to bring it up anymore. I thought for sure Mika would have said something with a KYV tie-in.
