The Wendy Williams Show - General Discussion
Jeanius replied to David T. Cole's topic in The Wendy Williams Show
Forget the snack and grab yourself a extra-large coffee because you will need it to get through today's recrap: Wendy's giant purple bazooms come bouncing out with Wendy not far behind. I do love that shade of purple, but the size of those things frighten me. I found out later on The View that the co-hosts were wearing purple for Spirit Day - to raise awareness of LGBTQ bullying. Wendy did not mention that, I wonder why? She has PLENTY of time to mention anything she wants. She often sits in silence for what seems like AGES with that tsk-tsk disapproving look on her face, waiting for the audience to clap for whatever nugget of wisdom just dribbled from her mouth. I will say I liked this outfit more than the ones she has worn lately. Maybe the purple was a coincidence. Anyway, she bounces into her seat, nearly giving herself a black eye from one of those melons, and shushes the audience immediately, as she has a Verrrrry Important Tidbit to divulge!! OMG - WHAT??? DIDDY AND CASSIE BROKE UP!!! Wendy felt some kind of way about this. She does her usual analysis of the situation - Cassie benefitted from dating such a rich guy. She is also concerned that Cassie will be completely lost trying to navigate the world. Does she know how to apply for a mortgage? Get insurance? DOES SHE EVEN KNOW HOW TO BUY A CAR???? Yes, these are important things in life, but Wendy rarely discusses how the people involved might be heartbroken, and not concerned with mundane things that may or not even apply to this gal. With Wendy it is ALLLLL about the money. Cynical and hardened. I am guessing Diddy may have dispensed a nice group of parting gifts on Cassie, but who knows? "How do I feel? eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh, I'm sad." She hopes they get back together and get engaged, married, and have a baby on the way soon, because Wendy is a sucker for all that. That sums up what Wendy feels is important in life - get married and have a baby, mostly because that is how you extract money from the guy - have his baby. It is her go-to advice for any woman dating a rich guy. Next up - the convoluted story of Drake, his baby momma, Pusha T, some dude named 40, and I guess Kanye is in there somewhere. I did not get much out of that whole story, only to be annoyed with the picture of the baby momma sitting on the beach that Wendy LOVES to post, claiming WE want to see it. Uh, no. I have no doubt we will hear more about this fascinating story AND get to see Sandy Bottom again soon. Next up is a report that an autograph of Britney Spears will be auctioned - some page from her yearbook back in seventh? grade …. Wendy went on and on about how exciting this was, how wonderful Britney is, blah blah. We get to hear (AGAIN) that Wendy owns a $5000 Joan Rivers brooch. BFD. The audience is very quiet through out, and even Wendy realizes that no one GAF. After a loooonnngggg pause, Wendy says, "Uck. It felt like I had to ague with you to convince you how exciting it would be to own Britney's autograph." NEXT Next we get Wendy discussing holograms of dead stars and how stupid that is, in regards to Amy Winehouse's father floating the idea of an Amy hologram. I got nothing. The muscles in my face have slackened, and I think drool is running down my chin. She segues into a story about Michael Jackson once pitching the idea of him starring as James Bond. This was a WTF story, as it involved guacamole dripping from Michael's hat, and down his face. What I got out of the story was Wendy guffawing, "Huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh." "Hot Topics" ends with a report that Ben Affleck's ex-girlfriend's mother didn't want her daughter to date Ben. Well, they already broke up so who cares?? Guest today was Algee Smith from "The Hate U Give." For some reason, Wendy calls him long and lean, when dude is clearly short and lean. She is nice enough to him, but a bit too flirty. My takeaway from today is that Wendy makes a lot of weird noises. Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh!!! Plus, I need a life. -

Lol!! Thanks??? In all honesty, I have been inspired by the folks here that have snarked before me. Yesterday's snark came easy - Wendy was a freezing hot mess. Today was a real struggle - Tepid Topics indeed - until she zinged Van and showed her nasty streak. I don't feel bad critiquing Wendy - she doesn't hesitate to tell us exactly how she feels, and her insights aren't all that deep. In her mind the Almighty Buck rules. I find it amusing that she thinks her pronouncements are so profound. She thinks she is the Answer Grape (showing my age again). Also, just realized Halloween is on a Wednesday, not Tuesday. -

Today's show: Wendy wears tights with some kind of plaid apron-looking thing on top. (Actually shorts? and leggings?) I guess the key is covering up those skinny legs, because she didn't complain once about the cold studio today. I will give her points for acting more professional today. Uh oh!! Minus points for immediately blotting her lipstick on her card. Ewww. She starts out polling the audience about what they watched last night - BET Awards? noooooo ….. Lyrica and what's his name? nooooooo ….. The Connors? well, sort of. Wendy spends several minutes telling us all about the show, but that she doesn't care about the show, while letting us know that it's on every Tuesday night at eight. Next up, it is Horseface versus "Tiny Whiny" (Did she mean to say Teeny Weenie? I don't get the whiny part - though I can imagine the lil mushroom whining that No One wants to go for a ride lately.) I did enjoy the clip of Melania left without an umbrella. Love the way her face falls into bitch mode. He is a real Horse's Ass, that one. We get a story about some random make-up artist having a beef with Cardi B, 'cause Cardi was a meanie. This is a Hot Topic???? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Wendy digs around the bottom of the barrel and comes up with a story about Kenya Moore and her gift-grubbing ways. Wendy is often fixated on age. People over 40 shouldn't expect much in the way of gifts. IMO, age has little to do with it. I was taught that if you want to give a gift, you give a gift. One does not ask for gifts. That is tacky. I'm okay with a gift registry - but you do not demand that folks give you an item from the list. I was NOT in favor of Wendy's solution - that you donate to charity, in the person's name. That is not a gift - that is YOU getting credit and a tax donation. Unless the person asked for donations to a particular charity, I say NO. Wendy goes from ragging on Piers Morgan (a two day old story) to bringing the focus back to her - she used to bring lil Kev to work in a high chair back in the day. She made it sound like she strapped the high chair in the car, then wheeled the high chair across the street and up to her studio. She didn't like strollers. I guess it ended up being kind of a cute story, but I can't get the image of Kevin being strapped in a high chair instead of a car seat. Probably just Wendy's sloppy story telling. Wendy talks about Gaga's engagement and focuses on ages (again) and compares Gaga's two engagement rings, and we learn (remember, we CARE about what Wendy likes) that she does not like colored stones for engagement rings. Earth shattering stuff. Are you bored yet? I'm boring myself senseless. Thankfully, Van Jones comes on to talk about something a bit more serious (not that we tune into Wendy for serious news, but I could feel my IQ dipping dangerously low) although he did talk about Kim K and he got in a dig at Kanye visiting the White House mainly for attention, versus Kim trying to get something done (prison reform). Wendy manages to be rude, asking Van, "Where were you? In the kitchen??" Van looked shocked, like, the KITCHEN?? Wendy seemed clueless how awful that sounded, "You know, like getting something to eat!!" But the real kicker was when she suddenly asked him, "Were you at the strip club last night? I am distracted by a piece of red glitter on your face!!" WTF????? All in all, a lackluster show only highlighted by Wendy's crassness. -

Today's show - Wendy could not have made it more clear that she did not want to be there - after prancing out in some leopard? spotted mini-dress with a front pack? she started complaining about the October weather - it's either A/C or heat - hey Wendy it's better than freezing snow - and how cold the studio was … and how she hates Halloween, and gourds - GOURDS? man she is a pill - and got in some boasting about her measurements: 42-29-38 - she really thinks highly of herself, doesn't she? Big deal about your measurements - you look weird, sorry. Do you know she hates Halloween? I think she is afraid she will faint again, and she is being triggered by the lead up to Halloween. And, not only is Halloween coming up, get this - it's on a Tuesday!! Tuesdays are the WORST!! Is she ever happy? Maybe when Tuesday the Halloween is over, she will calm down. No more A/C either. Still cold, though. It's a bitch, y'all. Hot Topics were dull - Bethenny Frankel news …. Jason is the devil, but probably a good father. Jason disappointed her. Wah. More "Hot Topics" - Wendy got her mammogram. I think half of the show is about her - she thinks pretty highly of herself, but also seems to hate herself. And most everyone else. Next up, Joe Guidice being deported and oldest "dawter" pleading his case on InstaTwit or whatever place she posted her sob story. Next up - more complaints about the cold - "the wind is driving" and "I need gloves" and "Oh god is it time to go home yet???" Seriously? GO HOME Wendy - GO TO SLEEP. Dr. Drew is on. He seems sad and tired? I haven't kept up with him. He is now sixty - and I relate!! It feels weird. Maybe why he seemed scared, or something. I'm scared, too, Doctor. I'm home watching Wendy and writing about it!! Hate watching. Ugh. I noticed Wendy doesn't really believe in love. It's all about using people and "the come up." Pete could not really love Arianna - it was about the money. Nah, I was with Dr. Drew - guy thought he was in Love, plus folks are right to be concerned about his mental health. Wendy thinks she might be a millennial ??? Riiiiiight. Wendy has Words of Wisdom - "stop being addicted to love and love yourself." I think Wendy has been disillusioned about love, and tries not to care, and tries to act like she is So Together and All That. Ask Wendy - AWKWARD with the woman whose husband lit up around her best friend. I think it got to Wendy on some level. She was nice to the blond lady. I will give her that. She was rude to the lady who taught or something about the Pacific Ocean. Her advice was good enough, but she was rude about "getting a map to the ocean" or whatever she snarked. Wendy - time to go home!!- 9.3k replies

Live With Kelly And Mark - General Discussion
Jeanius replied to Shermie's topic in Live With Kelly And Mark
I personally don't believe the allegations, and I have the "feeling" that "most people" don't either. I can see what "both sides" are trying to convey, perhaps. I am 100% behind the people who are now deciding it is a much better time in history to reveal past abuses that we now hear run the gamut from mild to horrible. Because humans are the same, yet very diverse in how they view and experience life, one person's "horrific" experience may sound like No Big Deal to another. I have had "metoo" experiences that I do not believe warrant criminal investigation at this point, and maybe not even back when it happened. I personally see a fair amount of Gray Area, Miscommunication, Different tolerance levels, etc. When I decided to work in a traditionally Man's Field (engineering) I braced myself, in a sense, for dealing with that on a daily basis. Consciously and unconsciously I adjusted both MY behavior and my reaction to other's behavior. I had to speak up to get the same pay for the same job, and I had to almost be on alert, especially when your instincts tell you you are dealing with Real Jerks that seem to barely be able to control their impulses. I was also LUCKY I did NOT experience anything "too horrible." I continue to feel lucky, but there is always a level of "gotta watch one's back - lot's of creeps out there." I do think some of the first people who were "outed" have suffered consequences that they maybe don't deserve, and that is an unfortunate, but an inevitable? part of the process. Lots of interesting debate about what IS harassment .... how DO we determine what actually happened, when there are no eye witnesses. Many folks look to other evidence - did the person say anything to anyone else at the time ... Have other's come forward, and are they "copycats?" Does the story "ring true?" This story lacks a lot, at this point. Like many have pointed out - one person? with a story does not a conviction make. The point about Ryan "being okay" is that he DOES have the money to defend himself, and I imagine a big support network. I thought it was poor for people to say they would avoid him at the awards shows ... he IS "innocent" until proven guilty, and this rush to condemn and judge in "Social" Media is a reflection of our Instant Gratification Society and our unwillingness to face serious problems with our society that have been festering for a long time, and we all can point fingers at our collective failings. And on the other hand, the Social Media has been a source of collecting and publishing "evidence" in the form of cell phone texts, videos, recorded conversations, photos, etc. It has helped corroborate some of the victims stories, and led to immediate confessions and admittances of guilt - "Well, you GOT me!!" Other people manage to cover up their deeds, and when it is one word against another, well I believe in erring on the side of innocence, because that is how I view our justice system. I am thinking that Ryan may benefit from the "backlash" that IS pushing back at this idea that all these types of assault are somehow equally bad and lumped altogether, and that some of them are simply NOT AT ALL TRUE. And I hope rational thinking will help folks sort out the "truth" when people with other agendas try to use the momentum of this movement for their own purposes. I am not even a fan of Ryan's - and maybe he turns out to be a "Matt Lauer" type where some people will just never "wrap their heads around" how a person can be such a Jekyll and Hyde, but my "gut' just doesn't see it (and I DON'T wish to imagine him in his tightly whiteys, thank you and I'm sorry). -
I think folks can choose or not to choose to watch or support ANY actor/celebrity for any reason. I don't get why anyone has to explain to Whoopi (who consistently irks me on this issue) that she or any other actor is not entitled to the next paycheck. Yes, Whoopi, "there but for the grace of God ..." especially when Joy mentioned Mel Gibson. I GET that Whoopi had a big drop in bookings and maybe even cancellations when she "stepped in it." Her career can end at any time - like the majority of entertainers, many of which NEVER "hit it big." As I am somewhat practical minded, I am of the opinion that folks that DO come into Big Coin in their careers should bank as much as possible and FUND those lean years ahead - FUND your retirement account. (Really, we should all do that, but it is hard enough to get started in life making regular coin like most regular folks) And I get that expenses are super high and net pay isn't the millions that are reported - but DAMN - Whoopi SHOULD have EFF YOU $$$ saved up. Yes, she has a large family, etc. Take care of Numero Uno, and minor children - the rest is to be carefully spent!! I don't care how rich you are!! Money IN, and Money OUT, Easy come, easy GO!! So, Kathy G can also STUFF IT - she made MILLIONS and I used to watch her in her glamorous home - how much did she spend on plastic surgery ALONE??? I have ZERO sympathy - go live off your RETIREMENT money - near 60? PLAN AHEAD. And I did not find her stunt all that OMG!! Yes, "shocking" to make a point. It was when her pocket book was feeling a bit more empty that she panicked. And looked weak. "I'm sorry." Oh well. I may even "support" folks, and NEVER go spend my discretionary money on, say, a movie to "show my support." I spend money on a movie if I think it might be fun. If I don't think Mel Gibson is talented, that may be the reason I don't go see his movies. Could be ANY NUMBER of things. I really can't believe how expensive movies ARE!! Let alone some popcorn, pop and a box of snowcaps. Meghan is just strange - I can not figure out her thinking - poor fit, sour face - I hope they are just "being polite" and they will decide to let her go "soon." Perhaps a Mutual parting of the Ways - bring on Ana, or Yvette. Or both - dump Whoopi while "we" are at it.
-
I confess I still don't "know much about" Meghan - and I have the same "Why HER?" reaction many of you do as to her "achieving" a seat on The View except that she is Daddy's Little Girl. I just don't understand her Point of View, and her rambles and rants that intertwine her FEELINGS about being "left out" or whatever don't help. Sounds immature. Maybe I'm dense. I did guess a glimpse into what makes her tick when she was so dismayed at the allegations against - was it Moore? and she was all - "Oh, Joy you must LOVE this." And she alluded to the "heroes" she grew up admiring - the Bushes? Her father, I'm sure. It sounded like this was the FIRST TIME she had ever heard of Hanky-Panky on the Right. Joy tried to set her straight. This has been going on since forever!! I think she put her father and all her heroes on a pedestal a long time ago, and in her mind, this was linked to being Republican and/or Conservative. In her mind, being on the Right means being right - right-minded, and that includes a strong dose of morality thrown in. She had built up mere mortals into something more. And when your heroes end up looking just as low-minded as those "looser" liberals on the Anything Goes Left, it starts to chip away at the pedestal you put under your heroes. I remember growing up and having the wool removed from my eyes, and hearing about neighbors who weren't the nicest people after all, friends who weren't friends, Priests or other religious figures that were caught doing the EXACT OPPOSITE of what they preached. Having your trust in someone broken. Learning about hypocrisy. Being disillusioned. Being more skeptical about what comes out of people's mouths, and watching their actions more. Perhaps Meghan is having her eyes opened a bit more to the ugly underbelly of human nature, and it is not a political issues, unless you claim YOUR party is the Morally Superior Party. I have lived long enough to see plenty of Bad Behavior on all sides. I guess I just decided I don't like Meghan on The View based partly on her relative inexperience with Life. She is, as Regis Philbin used to say, The Young One. I'd rather have ANY ONE of the frequent posters here be the fifth seat!!

When people say, "Listen, ...." as Lisa Bloom has done more than once, I listen, but I tend to be skeptical of what is about to come out of their mouths.

Lol. All in the Family. I remember my Dad would sit down and watch, which was a rare thing - he was not the kind of guy that sat and watched TV as he wasn't into sports, and most of the stuff was "junk." It was amusing to me, as in some ways, Archie reminded me of my father - his gruffness, for sure. My mom was a bit like Edith, in that she was always trying to placate Dad, to keep him on the jolly side. Looking back, what a great show, what a great cast. "Gee our old LaSalle ran great," - took me forever to figure THAT one out!! I tried Clancy's Ranch-style tortilla chips last night - I have been munching and crunching everything in site as the cooler weather sets in - hoping they would be good - Dang!! they were just fine. This morning I poured some Friendly Farms milk in my coffee. HOW FRIENDLY ARE THEY, HUH??? Daughter tells me THIS MORNING that her Latin teacher is having the kiddos bring in cereal to eat - she provides the bowls and milk, lol. It is Block Day today - the classes are 90 minutes. Good thing I bought TWO boxes of Pumpkin Spice Cheerios at Aldi's yesterday. I had already opened box numero uno and had begun munching on THAT ONE. Daughter has a bunch of red hair, so I gave her the box and decided to call her Pumpkin Cheerio.
-
I went to Aldi's today! I enjoyed it. Didn't see too many holiday goodies yet. I did see some chocolate bars, and I bought some Knoppers crispy hazelnut wafer bars. YUM!! I picked a smattering of items to try - green onions, baked beans, Brussel sprouts, lasagna noodles, ricotta, ketchup, macaroni and cheese, pasta sauce ... all brands I didn't know. They had Pumpkin Spice Cheerios for $2.49 - we just finished a box - they are pretty good, and I'm not a pumpkin spice freak. I have always liked cinnamon and all the spices that go with it, so by definition I like "pumpkin spice". Just not pumpkin spice EVERYTHING. I also picked up a frozen gyro "kit" - since moving to the Cleveland area, I have been digging them every now and again - might fix for dinner tonight. Comes with the meat, the bread, and the tzatziki sauce (my boyfriend and I are immature, and we call it "titty sauce"). Also bought a large pumpkin for $4. Would have been $10 at Heinen's, our local chain. I shop mostly at Heinen's. The local store is pretty small, which I prefer at this point in my life. I LOVED Wegmans. I knew I would miss it terribly when I moved, and I did. I eventually got over it, for the most part, lol. I have been back in the last six months, (my paramour lives in the Rochester area) and it is still The Bomb, but the newest stores are YUGE. Like ginormous. It was like, crazy, man. I used to live near one of the older, smaller ones, and I loved the size, loved everything about it. They built a Super Wegmans around the corner from the old one. It's wonderful, almost a village unto itself. Just makes the whole shopping thing more of an Ordeal. And I get overwhelmed at times by the sheer selection of items. And all of the prepared foods!! Anyway, back to Aldi's - thanks for all the info on it - I appreciate it!! I had fun, and it felt like you guys were with me :)
-
I am going to try Aldi's now. I have a lot of choices where I am. The local chain is excellent. Prices a bit high but not that bad, especially if you shop the sale items and try and stock up. We also have Giant Eagle, which bought out Tops years ago. I really don't like it - and I think prices are high. We also have Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and Aldi's. Aldi's is a bit farther for me to drive, but I am looking to trim my food bill a bit. Oh, and we have Costco. I used to make fun of Costco, but I started shopping there with my mother-in-law, and I was converted. They have some cool stuff. Back when I had three kids at home, it made more sense. I have a tendency to take stocking up too far (i.e. we don't want to become a hoarder, now, do we?) so I haven't shopped there in over a year. Plus it was a whole "ordeal." I had to gird my loins, so to speak, before going there. I would come home with mountains of paper towels, tissues, snack foods, nuts, dried fruits, oh my all kinds of stuff. I used to live in Rochester, NY, home of Wegmans. I believe it often wins Top Grocery Chain, maybe for it's size category, on a national level. That's a whole other post!!
-
Oh, Cricket my heart goes out to you. I saw your post in the Shopping Channel thread. Big HUGS to you. Cricket, I will be thinking of you also - funny how I feel so very fond of the folks "here." I do believe we help bolster each other as we stumble through this thing called Life. I do hope the different treatment has a positive effect. Prayers and virtual love to you.
-
Whoopi to Meghan: "I have a few books for you to read." Meghan made a face. Dang, she made her point at least three times. I liked Sunny's - "You're not the only one ..." Meghan is uber annoying. Looking for "sparks."

Live With Kelly And Mark - General Discussion
Jeanius replied to Shermie's topic in Live With Kelly And Mark
I was thinking that I sure was off on a tangent - you can almost see the gears spinning, or the smoke pouring outta my ears. Yes, I was stumbling around the issue of "men" - fathers - and their children. Happy Father's Day, you guys!! My own bias would be for a father to be involved in his children's daily lives, as well as for the mother - or both parents - all parents?? Lol, too easy to step on land mines. My father was around every day, but distant emotionally. Other dads may not be around so much, but still manage to be a "good dad." Who is to judge? As a mother of grown kids, I know I have made plenty of mistakes, and I still haven't figured it all out. When you think you have, you often get a curve ball thrown your way. Back to the show!! I did watch some of host chat on Friday - I noticed a bit of editing choppiness. I recall thinking that they got into a discussion of Kelly in her role as a parent, and it seemed Ryan complimented her on her and Marc's success as parents. Kelly stated how proud she was of her kids, maybe? I remember thinking it was eerily like what I had been blathering about ..... I was musing about what seems to be a contradiction in what Ryan says he wants - to have more time to balance having a family - versus taking on American Idol in addition to Live!, his radio show, his other endorsements - and he has a girlfriend - and at age 42, maybe he would not want to be too much older than his children. I'm sure he is a big boy and can figure it out. Seemed to be some pressure from Kelly for Ryan to settle down with Shayna? I sensed Ryan didn't like when Kelly was pushing that topic. He doesn't mention her much, does he? I noticed they cut that part short and jumped to a different topic. I didn't like when Kelly seemed to be prying into Michael's personal life either. On the other hand, it is the nature of a daily talk show that they get into their lives outside of the show. -

Live With Kelly And Mark - General Discussion
Jeanius replied to Shermie's topic in Live With Kelly And Mark
She has more moments of real-ness, and I think Ryan brings that out in her. "Even if" she feels threatened by him, career-wise, I do think they have a "friendship" or close enough relationship forged over several years that does make her feel at ease sitting next to him. He is good at being consistently "who he is" - in a sense, he IS his body of work. He is good at maing folks feel at ease. He has had a few long term relationships, but I can see why he hasn't "settled down" by age 42. For one, I don't think men have to "worry" about age-related baby issues, and while he might desire a family in the abstract, and be more ready for one in the coming years, he certainly is a man who defines himself by his work - as many men and women are - no shade being thrown - I am a firm believer in "doing your thing" and living YOUR life. UNTIL it involves others, like, say, if he HAD had children, and found he didn't have the time to spend with them - and we can get into the whole Quality versus Quantity Time, and how men of the past eras did not always spend much time with their young children. NOT to generalize - my husband said they rarely saw Dad, BUT he still was a major figure, and they DID go to church, have lots of family dinners, etc. Children are adaptable, and there are many ways to make a family "work." One thing I always "admired" Kelly for was her devotion to her family and children. No, she was not a Regis, going out every night as he did. She sure gets out a lot, even if she doesn't relate her stories well, AND she is a "regular mom" a lot of the time - she clearly was and is very hands on with her kids, and having three is a lot of work, even if she had help. I am envious of her high level of energy - she fits a lot into her life, and has made the most of her "talent." I can "hate on her" and I have dumped on her majorly over the years, and still find her a gold mine of snark and weird psychological issues, which is why I sometimes STILL watch this show, even though I "quit it" years ago. I have to give her props for somehow staying in that co-host chair as long as she has, and for racking up the multi-millions. And beyond the speculation some of us have done, her marriage has not shown a hint of cracking. They APPEAR to be a solid couple with a decent set of kids, given their extreme wealth, and Actor/Actress "lifestyle." No marriage is perfect - sure they have problems, but their seems to be a bedrock foundation to their relationship I find endearing. Even if they are both weird, they both came from "ordinary" beginnings, and while the $$$$ went to their heads at times (I am sure I would change some if I had the Big Bucks) they are both fairly ordinary people. Really - they BOTH make good on the meager acting skills they had/have. They make a good team. Doesn't mean I enjoy listening to them (when Mark co-hosts - he bores me - they both do) except to get the hints of some of the little cracks they do have in their relationship - like I said, no one is perfect. I will probably tune in a bit more, as I like the relaxed summer vibe, and the Grill Friday stuff (fooooood) and I think the Ryan is the best co-host for her out of the three. The best for HER. And I clearly have my own issues, since I still watch the dreck on tee-vee, including this, The View (another CrapFest I keep wondering how it stays on the air) etc. I rather like The Chew, but then I want to spend the day cooking and eating, plus by then, I am finally getting my rear in gear and "getting a life," lol. Am I mellowing out in my doddering years? Eh - I'm sure my Bitch Mode will be back - I am clearly procrastinating - thank you Previously!! I sure can't quit YOU!! -

I would not want to be his girlfriend. "... the 42-year-old had been talking in recent years about a desire for more balance in his life, settling down at some point and having a family of his own. (He currently shares a townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side with his mid-20s girlfriend, Shayna Taylor.)" Another insightful quote: "he believes his identity is still somewhat wrapped up in the show, and the idea of being replaced would destroy him." -

I'm going to say something positive about Friday's show - I enjoyed it. I remembered that they do a grilling segment on Fridays during the summer, so I checked it out - I really liked that segment with George Zakarian. I was inspired to jazz up the turkey burger I made later that night. Host chat was not obnoxious. Kelly spoke about Michael turning 20, and the things he loves to do, career-wise. I know he got a tremendous leg up with his parents, but I like how naturally Kelly spoke when she was talking about him at length. Ryan IS rather pleasant. The part with Cat Deeley was also okay. I used to watch SYTYCD back in the early seasons, so it was nice to see her again and get some idea about her upbringing, if it was a tad on the boring side. It was a bit amusing that Kelly thought Cat's accent was "posh" - and Cat briefly spoke in her original accent. Also nice to see Ryan and Cat chat a bit - they admire each other and it shows. Kelly stepped on one of Cat's stories, but Cat was finally allowed to finish - her interview did not feel rushed. In all, a pleasant and nicely paced show. Not too rushed. Not obvious it was pre-recorded (none of the awful choppy editing that sometimes happens). Kelly is still my least favorite part of the show, but she didn't suck. -

Hey y'all - Kelly has horse teeth. She told us. (Again.) They found a cockroach. Someone screamed. Kelly thought someone died. That's funny, right? But no. A cockroach. Kelly picked it up with TP and tried to flush it but the toilet doesn't flush. Ryan wanted a picture. They showed us a picture of a cockroach in a toilet. Wow. They talked about rats. Fun fluffy morning drivel. Or dribble, if that floats your boat. Drool? Spittle. Rinse, lather, spit. -

I will sound like the old broken record I guess I am. It wasn't that Regis mentioned the ducks who ate - gasp - breadcrumbs. Yes, it was eye-rolling after twenty-seven times. THAT WAS THE POINT. Regis could STILL tell ME about the damn ducks eating a freaking piece of toast, and I would probably roll my eyes and say something about "You and your ducks!!" You either LOVED HOW Regis told his story - it did not matter so much what he was talking about - or I guess he was just another doddering old fool. He talked about a LOT of things. Getting lost in the city with Joy, Hellon Wheels, barely controlling her on air disgust. It was such a REAL moment - like sitting at the kitchen table with them, or sharing a drink and getting the skinny on what goes on at the Philbin household. And he went out near EVERY NIGHT to see and do LOTS OF COOL ACTIVITIES with RICH AND FAMOUS PEOPLE. And he was SOMEWHAT humble. HE was not the Big Stah, and he knew it - NOT like Kelly, who thinks she should have a residency playing Peter Pan on Broadway, I suspect. And this whole article on the long career of Perky Kelly - BARF. Regis may have wished he stayed on, but I am happy for HIM that he left and did not have to deal with the likes of Ms. Ripa any longer. Regis was too good and too nice for HER. I know his heart is in the live TV, but he is better off where he is. Even WITH the Cold Bitch he married. She has class, and I think loves the Old Bastyard, deep inside. The same way I feel about my Dear Departed Sainted Mother who does not have to see the current state of our country. Would have broken her heart. I think my father saw it coming and got out even earlier. I have zero interest in Ryan Seacrumb or his darling dog. I am sure he is lovely, and I know he is miles above her. I won't watch her suck up to him, and strut out thinking she is Hot Sheet, when I find her to be a lukewarm cup of piss. -

Sergio. No seat for him. Later, Kelly BITCHED about the lack of chair. Then, it went down hill from there. She was mocking production, like ol REEEEEGE used to do. Still same show. Show sucks with or without co-host. Unless they strike gold with a magical unicorn co-host, it will play out a few more years (?) out of sheer momentum I suppose. And guests. -

Kelly's probing question for Scott Eastwood: "Does anyone hire caterers for food on the set? Who has the best trailer? 'Cause we always talk about that. Do you work out for an upcoming role with any sort of shpecial routine?" Scott: "I always eat healthy and think healthy." I googled him, because, YUMMY, and I saw in 10 seconds that he is on the cover of Men's Health. So yes, Kelly - he is just as focused on health and fitness as you are, Miss Twig. Only he seems normal. -
Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Jeanius replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
I would be a whole lot more surprised, thinking about a bit more, if she did had ended up staying in the marriage and NOT having another baby. Why would she do that? It is funny to me that folks seem to think she should Do This or Do That. I certainly get the critiquing of her actions, but the OH! MY! Anna did it and got preggers! outrage weird. Anna's mind works like Anna's mind works. 1. She has Baby Fever. She married Josh and had FOUR M's. Then the sheet hit the sheets. When she didn't cut and run THEN, her window of opportunity narrowed. Once back in the Family Compound, it's back to what she had and WANTED before. BABIES. 2. Religion and her relationship with God. Maybe she believes he is sufficiently rehabbed. People seem to think that once a cheater, once a molester, always a whatever. Anna and her cult don't think that way and never have. It's ALL about God and his miraculous ways. God can heal Josh, no matter WHAT any earthly creature has to say about it. So Anna has plenty of support to believe what she believes to keep her marriage and FAMILY together. AND have more babies ASAP. Every two years until she is out of eggs. Maybe for HER, it isn't so much about money. It's Babies. She needs more. The easiest way?? With Josh. OR, she will have to start over with some other dude. In her mind, that may be near impossible. I just don't see her as being so different than millions of women all over the country, staying in "unhappy" marriages for a myriad of reasons. Her reasons are as old as Sam Hill, and have a lot to do with women, having babies, and being DEPENDENT on the father of those children. In ways other than emotions, finances, etc. And when you are birthing babies, nursing babies, you are in your element (if that is your thing - I have had three, so have some experience in the matter. I also had the "sense" to say NO to the fourth!!) and it is a biological feeling that can't be replicated so easily. I much preferred my children to grow up, and I found them more fun and interesting as then got older and could communicate better. I DO think it is sad when women in general, like Meeechelle and Anna, seem to prefer the infants. THAT, to me is a big core issue, and something difficult to address, especially in the culture she is in. She is right where she wants to be. Every women (and man) makes compromises in relationships. Or, deals with the Debil himself (!!!!)
