  1. notice that in israel's picture, his bib is to the left side of him. guess she didnt want us to see it on him?
  2. one thing to keep in mind is that, at her age (i thought you said 13), she has a legal voice in court so IF you were to try to legally get custody of her, her wishes would be taken into consideration. if you could document that you support them 100% as you do, that may play into your favor. i am raising a grandchild right now - its no piece of cake, let me tell you. but the reason i hang in is because of this boy. who else does he have to count on? it sounds like your niece is in similar straights. bless you and your hubby for the strength you both share in your concern for this child.
  3. this is exactly how i read her posts. she may have had trouble conceiving...not everyone gets pregnant the first time they do the deed. my daughter in law wanted a baby so very bad. she had endometriosis, 4th stage. her odds of conceiving without assistance was zero. it is completely reasonable that jinger may have had similar issues and is so grateful for the baby she finally had. its also reasonable that she may have used birth control and was ever so happy to finally get to have a baby. you ladies summed up my position perfectly. i truly do not think she is being disrespectful or preachy at all. i think she is just a very happy mom.
  4. someone said that robyn had gained weight ....in the TH part in the beginning (as far as i have gotten so far) she looks very pregnant (like 5-6 months) again. anyone else think so?
  5. she IS special ---no doubt about it.
  6. nysha, wasn't it you missing your sister? any update? we have a local teen that's been missing for almost two weeks. fbi is now involved as are a national human trafficking taskforce. made me think of the missing sister.
  7. that setup at target looks just like my target....we have a starbucks right around the corner from the deli. i can relate to your g-baby!
  8. but did ya'll watch football? i am not a big fan of the sport - give me baseball any day. however, yesterday afternoon was a day of incredible football. GO RAMS!
  9. i became a christian at that church and learned with chuck smith as head pastor. i got baptized in the pacific ocean! one of his jr pastors was greg laurie of harvest christian church and the annual harvest crusade. when i knew him, he was 20 and had long hair. i cannot see jeremy going this route - he is too formal where they are in casual attire at calvary and its offshoots.
  10. and you didnt even stop by!!!! hope you at least waved.
  11. i also left teaching. i was a para-pro, not a credentialed teacher but certainly did the job of teaching special ed students daily. i loved my job and my 'kids'. but the admin was so difficult for me to work with at my final school site. i was undermined daily, watched, even brought to tears a few times. my lead teacher had the same issues. we were a team that transferred together to that site when the school opened and it was never good from the beginning. i finally had a physical/health reason to leave so i did. i was sad about it but so glad to be away from the tension of the admins. sadly, they forget that we are there for the kids, not the kudos.
  12. i am american and it doesnt really affect my day-to-day. we are not government employed so our paycheck is not held back.
  13. i love SAS shoes! i have a couple pairs and want a couple more in different colors. otherwise, its 100% sketchers tennies for me all day, everyday. have had two surgeries on my feet (bunions) and have sadly gained 100 pounds so my feet really pay the price!
  14. speaking of hansen (which i heard of from my students many years ago and then my kids) does anyone want to know that my husband got me tickets to see donny and marie in vegas? now that, i am excited about! ETA: i saw them when i was 18 in vegas and i was one of the lucky girls that received the purple hat from donny. i still have it to this day although i couldn't tell you where it is right now.
  15. just dont ever leave your drink unattended....i speak from experience here.
  16. oh i just didnt mention the screaming matches my grown boys got into, first son #3 with my hubby and then #2 went off and #1 tried to be the voice of reason. right now #1 and #2 are talking to me but #3 has not responded at all. not his style either. dont feel alone!
  17. on topic sort of, but its been awfully quiet in duggar-land.... two whole months with nothing happening that matters. so guess what? had christmas with all my kids - i did tell you that texas showed up? well twin#1 brought the creepin crud with him and now 4 of us are sick. hubby, grandson and i are each diagnosed with sinus infection requiring antibiotics. all had fevers etc. but it has triggered my lung disease and even on steroids i am so short of breath. started breathing treatments today and that has helped some. i cant cough anymore - it hurts my ribs. i have almost no voice and i am tired like no other. but i wouldnt have traded a single minute with my texas babies! the real bummer thing is my friend is staying here who is going to need surgery in the next couple of weeks for removing a cancerous tumor in her lung - getting sick will screw with that but the damage was done after she got here so she is just washing and praying. welcome 2019....
  18. just saw it! AWESOME!!!!! that aquaman actor ...o.m.g!!!
  19. got a sweet gift yesterday -- my texas kids arrived safe and sound! i was so happy to see them. they are with me for only 2-3 days but i will take it. my family celebrates together on christmas eve so all will be here tonight with the exception of my hubby's girls. they are busy. i am so happy. blessings, my friends.
  20. addressing the issue of no money for gifts: one year, just after i had filed for divorce from my abusive first husband, i was broke. he gave me nothing, i had 4 kids and had not found a job by that time (it had been only about 6 weeks since we broke up). so i took my kids to our family christmas empty-handed because i had nothing, literally, to take. i felt mortified to do this but it would be the only christmas my kids would get that year. my family was awesome! kids and i were gifted, and i received a check from my grandmother that bought 2 weeks worth of groceries for us! i cried literal tears right there in the living room in front of all of them. i am certain that i am the only one that remembers that christmas out of my whole family - yet i can picture the details. i think it was so reassuring to me that my family loved us for ourselves, not for what we could bring to gift them with.
  21. the picture of jill and jessa has to be hands-down the best photo of them i have ever seen.
  22. WTH does this mean from the post at the top of the site: The conversion of many forums to topics means all the “small talk” topics for smaller shows won’t be crunched into the condensed show topics and will be removed. If you have any bon mots in Small Talk areas, you may want to save them for your scrapbook (in the future, the general idea of “Small Talk” will be covered by a new clubs feature but we’ll have more on that later) and what, pray tell, is a bon mot?
  23. i don't see that at all. some people are just naturally more exuberant about things and some have probably had the emotions and feelings trained out of them. they look happy to me, just not as outwardly all-over-each-other as some of the newlyweds have been.
