i think like an open house where the girlfriends/family can come over and see the new baby while they are 'sipping' tea or whatever...
-
looked at that house....omg hideous. it has great possibilities but needs a total gut job! dont even get me started on that pool.....gag.

someone said something similar earlier this week but i have already instructed my computer-savvy children to at least go here and fb to let everyone know when the Lord takes me home. no sense is just disappearing and no one knowing why. i suppose i should also explain my genealogy sites to someone someday that may have an interest in the future. another thought i wanted to share....i write a blog with the hope that i can share my thoughts and experiences with my grandchildren even after i am gone. so what i do each year, in january, is upload it to a blog-book making site, order a hard copy to be mailed here and then it sits on my desk shelf waiting for the day when one of them is interested enough to read it. i include photos and fun memories but i also share my real feelings on things too. i would have LOVED something similar from my mother or grandmothers. so, there's that....

Name a New Topic: Suggestions for JD and Abbie
zoomama replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
JD and Abbie: Captured Before the Rapture i love this one! (and i might add that i am a firm believer in the Rapture....) -
totally confused, myself.
-
omg! surgery? that is no bueno. you better listen to the doctor!!
-
well said! i hadn't given them credit for being 'children'; i mean i knew it but i just didn't think about it when watching them parent the way they were parented. everyone has a breaking in period as a first timer.
-
nope, he is going to school next week hopefully. ya know, i read some of the posts here and feel guilty for whining about some of the stuff i do share. i have to remind myself that i have it better than many; therefore no place for complaining. you all are so sweet to listen and love on me anyways!

hello friends, your cheery Nurse Noni here to say that wyatt is on week 3, still wet coughing up a storm, especially on exertion. his doctor is consulting with 'infectious disease' doctor this a.m. and i await that phone call. in the meantime.............i currently have pneumonia myself and feel awful. breathing with this on top of double lung disease is a challenge, but i got in to my doctor immediately as soon as i realized it was more than my usual struggle to breath. he started meds right then and there (read that as 'a shot in the bootee'). hoping in a few days i will feel energy again , at least enough to clean up around the house.
-
very good points. i think the decision is made. home till next week unless the doctor says something different. i dont feel great about him going this week at all. you just pushed me over the edge and helped me decide.
-
yep - i am at the almost very end! hmmm, about wyatt. well he is ok sitting in his chair playing video games. then he gets in bed and rests a while and back and forth. he coughs much more when up and about the house . so no, i dont really think its a good decision to make him go to school this week. i am concerned tho about him not starting with everyone else though, because of him moving here at thanksgiving last year, starting mid year as a 'new kid' and never really fitting in was a huge issue last year. we had all (teachers and counselors too) kinda held the hope that starting this year with all his classmates at the same time would be better for his mindset. but i cannot control his health so i will probably approach the school and ask to let him start next week, hoping that his coughing will lessen enough to NOT be a total nuisance for the teacher.

oh that is a BIG day in our house!!! we were married that day in 1999, then on 'the' 9/11, we were blessed with our first grandchild. ( unfortunately we did not get to share in her childhood...long story there).
-
natalie, i hope you dont mind but i shared a bit of your post with an online friend who child is coming all the way across the usa to my neighborhood to go to college. i thought your words would be an encouragement to her.

well happy august birthday to you HFC!!! i am a virgo too (and very much as a virgo is described). however, if you saw my house about now, you would disagree. doctor called this a.m. unexpectedly and said we need to come in this morning for another x-ray. also said its gonna be a day-by-day thing for wyatt. not sure he will start school on wednesday now; waiting for the follow up phone call about the x-ray. then i am driving tot he school to make whatever arrangements the doctor suggests.
-
thanks for asking! well.....he went back to the dr yesterday and the nasal swab was negative for viruses. that means its an 'atypical bacterial infection'. his ears and sinus' were full of fluid and drainage as well as his lungs had pockets of fluid. his 02 is stable at about 92 so they sent him home with a new antibiotic, probiotics, continuing breathing treatments and steroids. they no longer prescribe cough meds for under 18 (codeine is a no-no) so he is still coughing up what is left of his lungs. he is released from p.e. for a month, has open potty privileges at school due to the meds. (school starts wednesday but i am not sure he is gonna make it). he will need an inhaler for school too. and....he sees the doctor on wednesday afternoon to decide if the other antibiotic is necessary. i did notice an improvement in his demeanor today -- more energetic and social. that said, he put himself to bed at 7:30 tonight. no 12 year old does that!

i have been following this family on their fb page.

we thought we'd get a lot of rain last winter but not so much. just enough to green up the hills so they can burn now.
-
guys -- its going from bad to worse around here too. first, grandson is still sick. apparently, the antibiotic was not the right one and a week has been wasted. he now has a double ear infection on top of the pneumonia! the coughing is a mess still. they did a swab to see what the germ is, i guess to determine what med to give him. dr said to expect TWO antibiotics when we got back tomorrow. his 02 is dipping so i am monitoring that. if it stays low, i am to take him to the ER. and if that weren't enough, we live within reach of the 'holy' fire currently going on in southern cali. today especially, there is so much smoke you cant see far ahead...and the smell. we are in no danger but get the affects from it and can see flames in the distance from certain areas of town. my son who just closed on a house out there is the next area in line to voluntarily evacuate. the good news is, he has not moved there yet. the transaction has turned out to be a bit fraudulent with the reports/inspections/disclosures made by the seller and the home is uninhabitable in its current state. so, possibly no harm, no foul if it were to be in the burn area. for his sake, i hope not. he really wants to settle the problems and fix it to move in. so now, i am going to try to nap just in case i have to run to the hospital.
