  1. There was a lot of great quick gags. Cleveland, 'yes we all have a gun.' Ostrich Terminator killed me.
  2. Homer's been way more drunk in public before, so I figured it was for peeing.
  3. Wow this was good. I loved the chicken - bird is the word double joke. And the Swinton joke. The chase from T2 was fantastic.
  4. I don't think they've done much parents versus kids episodes. What a great callback. I liked the manager was all in on the con.
  5. Excellent callback. Why did Homer get arrested? Was it peeing in the drain?
  6. If you don't get it sliced right it just doesn't work.
  7. I'm glad the show went there. That's sliding all the chips into the pot. A lesser show would have half assed it to make Walt more sympathetic to the viewers. But you get Walt all 'say my name'. It was really early on and blink and you'll miss it.
  8. In The Walking Dead first season, Merle, Daryl's brother was shown to have blue meth in his back pack.
  9. I actually got to be part of a test group for a pilot. It was on a special channel, like I had to select 00 at a certain time. Then they called me after and asked a whole bunch of questions. I never knew how I got selected, but I really had a blast.
  10. Oh, I was rooting for Walt 100%. You don't beat the likes of Gus Fring on accident. In the end, I did think he 'got away with it' too.
  11. The Wheel of Time finale really fell flat for me, last paragraph not withstanding. That didn't actually bother me. So 25 years of reading the series just isn't going to fly.
  12. Certainly believable, but they kind of did that with awesome-o. I could buy Cartman being q though as a way to troll people and it gets out of control.
  13. TPTBs said right from the start that the show was about Mr. Chips to Scarface. I think that laid out the expectations for me right there. What bothers me about tv is that so many characters are bad a their jobs and somehow are just still around, or that is played for laughs. Not that everyone on tv has to be the best at their jobs ever, but competent. Well, Walt was very very good at his job. That's what I really liked. Without spoiling, Better Call Saul isn't what you think, if you're thinking it's a show about Saul doing shady cases every week. Also he caused the zombie apocalypse.
  14. It's my local pbs pledge drive so no Chateau tonight.
  15. Again, it's suffers from not giving it its due. The whole plot with Varys could have been way more exciting with more time. He was sending out messages about who Jon actually was, but we never saw much of that. I don't mind about the Night King being dispatched like that because it gave Theon absolution and it was awesome. Plus a lot of people did die and the wall fell, so I think that was as much as you could do with that. It's just it was THE PLOT of the final season, and there wasn't enough there there to sustain the season. All the other Dany stuff could have made for a richer season. To be fair, at the time, all fantasy books were basically Lord of the Rings. He broke the mold in terms of not every series has to be a trilogy and there could be a lot of 'playing in your world.' You'll see the Wheel of Time (which was completed but because of the same dragging out, the author died before) is similarly laid out. With all the descriptions of the food and the rides here to there. I'd give him credit for making fantasy more character driven, but I think he bought too much into his BS and you do have to finish the story. I don't buy the books because I learned my lesson with the Wheel of Time (25 years).
  16. There seems to be a lot more recipes out there now due to the show.
  17. Butters seems and odd choice for that. I would have bet on Randy or Cartman getting into all the q business.
  18. That's fair too. As it was said above, she was all in on 'the people welcoming her home,' and you have Semly laying out 'people really don't give a shit who is on the throne', blink and you'll miss it. They missed a good opportunity (at the expense of filming at night I swear I couldn't see half the last season) to get into Dany thinking she deserves the throne, or what governing actually means to 'common people'. They did a great (if creepy) job about the people/slaves she *did* actually liberate out in the west or wherever that was, so her buying into people really wanting her to have the Iron Throne isn't unreasonable. It's a shame because for one, you have viewers sticking with the show for so long, poring over details and enjoying all the characters, and while you don't make the show based on what the fans want, you drop the ball on some really interesting social commentary that would have taken longer to do in terms of show hours, but I think viewers would have been fine with taking in as part of the final season. I didn't necessarily want Jamie to die either, but her and Cersei's ending was just flat.
  19. This is the aspect of the show I enjoyed. I make my own marinara, but that's about it. I don't get too much more fancy than maybe adding some sausage to it now and then. When they were making the zucchini pasta, I was like, 'huh, I never thought to do that,' when Tucci was basically saying the same thing about how he made it. That's something I'm looking forward to trying. I do simple meals because I don't have a ton of time, but I'll spend a Sunday morning in the kitchen to make some prepared meals that I'll have over the course of a month or so. I guess the fundamental point is that the cooking is accessible.
  20. I know they showed an island at one point so I thought it was there. I think what I like is that Tucci isn't any more of a chef than I am. I like when he says, 'oh, I didn't try making like that. Oh, you add nutmeg?'
  21. That's a fair criticism. I think most people that watch TV at a place like this weren't calling bs on Dany being the villain. It was the sloppiness. Something like this - her turning on the common people - could have used a slow burn of a few more hours of the final season. There really wasn't anything ooc or to really call bs on. It's just I think it was a letdown that the same plot beats could have been more polished.
  22. I don't really watch food shows, but I do like to cook, and I'm Italian so I figured why not? I like the history and geography woven into the show and how the food is inherent in that. I do like good food that has simple ingredients. I don't watch a ton of TV and it's a fun show. I liked when they were on the island and there was the big storm so they had the place to themselves. Everyone was like, well we were going to cook anyway! My grandmother apparently made tripe for my mother and uncle. I just can't. We always had prosciutto at holidays growing up. Can't really get it right here. You need it paper thin sliced.

To be fair, I think Portland laid in hard to the hack-a-Shaq, and Shaq drained just about all his free throws to put the game away.

Iverson was *great* that year. They even beat LA once in the Finals.
