  1. Having lost 81 pounds since February, most of my pants, skirts and slip have safety pins holding them smaller!
  2. Does Hunahpu mean stupid? As soon as I lost my tarp I would have been in the jungle scrounging for palm fronds or big leaves or anything to plug up the huge gaping holes in the roof. I know they lost their hatchet as well so that's why I said scrounge. I don't care about anybody this season. Well, maybe Reed and Josh, but other than that, hate them all!
  3. Hulu doesn't carry NCIS. You'll have to use CBS.com.
  4. Bronson Pinchot was in this episode? Who'd he play?
  5. I think tank dunking to establish body fat would be awesome! I'd watch that!
  6. I too, have a friend who is a cross-fit nut. She wears knee socks too. She also injured herself rather seriously while doing cross-fit, which I hear is quite common. I don't bring up cross-fit with her because I just don't think it's for everyone, or even most people. I just watched the entire last season of TBL and I don't mind Bob at all. Jillian on the other hand seems to be a piece of work. Getting caught giving her team caffeine supplements against doctor's orders! What a wack job! I don't know anything and even I knew that was awful.
  7. Thanks everyone who mentioned that many of the pros are also LDS. They know that when you are performing, you wear the appropriate costume/uniform. They also know that these dances are just a performance. They have nothing to do with real life or beliefs. I understand the difficulties of non-pros like Sadie. She is not a performer and she is young. But as someone mentioned before, don't sign up for the show if you're not willing to do what is required. I really think that TPTB need to steer away from such young contestants. That would alleviate a lot of the problems. I really want to love this show but TPTB are making it really difficult. P.S. - Hated Pitbull! I could not understand 3/4 of what he said.
  8. This has been eating at me for the entire season and last season as well. I am a Christian, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A Mormon. Regarding modesty, other Christian faiths have nothing compared to the LDS faith. If you are a faithful member, you don't wear anything sleeveless, no bare middles and nothing shorter than just above the knee. I bring this up because as far as I know there have been three practicing LDS members on the show. Marie Osmond, Donny Osmond and Gladys Knight. We never heard them complaining about costumes or the nature of the dance. Why? Two reasons, well maybe three. 1. They were older and more mature. 2. They were all performers and as such knew that costumes are like uniforms in athletics or swimsuits in swimming and diving, and you wear what's appropriate for the circumstances, within reason. 3. They did not feel the need to be media whores where their faith was concerned. I feel that this show has gone way overboard with the skimpy costumes and the sexiness of the dances. The outfits that last season's Candice and this seasons Sadie wear are a refreshing breath of air and very much appreciated by this viewer. However, the path taken by the family, the producers, TPTB, to get to these costumes and dances is embarrassing and annoying to watch. One mention at the beginning of the season would have been sufficient to explain the modesty for the entire season. Frankly in this case, I'd be more concerned about the age of the contestant rather than the religion of the contestant. Okay, I think I got that off my chest.
  9. I just finished binge watching season 15. No, I did not binge while I binged! I wanted to see this Rachel that everyone was talking about. Well, I saw her. Whisky Tango Foxtrot? I wonder if she is swimming at all. I've never seen a female swimmer look that anorexic. She looked terrible! Even her face looked awful. Tumi on the other hand looked fantastic! I wish I could have seen her on Say Yes to the Dress!
  10. What a great thread! I'm really glad to be here. I've been morbidly obese for my entire adult life. About 13 years ago I hit my highest weight about 370 and decided to change things. I lost about 60 pounds but for some reason that I can't even express, I stopped. I regained some of it but thankfully never went all the way back up. This past February I had a really awful vertigo attack and went to the emergency room. They took my readings and asked me if I was aware that I had high blood pressure and diabetes. I had to answer no because I had not be getting regular medical care. That was my turning point. I'm 55 years old and don't want to die young. I started using Sparkpeople for tracking and inspiration and started to walk. I've lost about 75 pounds so far and have about 100 more to go. Portion control and tracking/logging are they keys I think to successful weight loss and maintenance. I have to disagree completely with your therapist. Like I said, I'm 55 and losing at a nice steady rate. My doctor is very happy not only with how I'm losing but with my labs as well. The site I use for logging and info has tons of older people who are losing weight, many of them as much or more than I have. We are never too old to improve our health!
  11. Ah Mike! That elimination really got to me. I'm a little teary. I hope he does go on a run at last chance canyon. Good for Emmy for signing up and doing the 5k's!
  12. I walked away and did something else before the first round was even over. Boring!
  13. I've heard it called cauliflower ear. It's from repeatedly being pulled, punched and torn. Blood clots form and blood and puss fill the spaces of twisted cartilage. Someone once asked Randy how it felt and he said it felt like hell.
  14. Yes! That's it. Thanks Fishcakes!
  15. How many people would seriously leave their car doors open even if they were running to hide for their lives? Not me! I want a live battery in my car when I get back and I want the car to actually be where I left it!
  16. While I'm glad that Blake is there to nip this weight in the bud, she is so immature and annoying. I'm an olderish person and really hate watching shows with teens and early twenty somethings on them. Lori is extremely winey. Get over it Lori! I'm kinda surprised she wasn't voted out. I just want to add that I never have a cheat day. This new way of eating IS my lifestyle. I'm sure that if I were to try to eat a bacon cheeseburger now, I'd probably throw up or at the very least have a stomach ache.
  17. There has been a commercial on tv that had the song with words like "follow me into the jungle." I've heard it on a truck commercial also. Does anyone know what the title of the song is or it it's even a real song? I would love to have it as a work out song!
  18. I noticed her look change as soon as Carrie Ann said that stuff about Sadie's father maybe not approving of the dance.
  19. Ya, Rod was extremely irritating. That laugh! I feel about actors the same way some people feel about clowns. I don't trust them.
  20. Thank you for saying this! I too am the wife of a retired military member. I did several deployments with multiple children and one of them was handicapped. Regarding Kenny's 5 minutes in the Corps, not everyone is cut out to be in the military so he needs to let go of that past venture. His constant harping about having been a Marine was juvenile. On the other hand there's a saying: Once a Marine, always a Marine. I can sympathize just a tad with Christy and her relationship with her mother. I grew up with a similar sort of Mom. She had no idea the things I did or went through as a child. I don't even bother to share them with her because I know she'll say the same old things: I didn't know or I did the best I could. However, Christy's attitude really sucks. She didn't really embrace the opportunity given to her. I think that one of the great things about this show is how they break the weight loss into smaller goals. It's very daunting to look at the big picture but smaller goals make it totally doable!
  21. Seriously would they please make sure these girls have good, no-bounce sports bras. Sara could have put an eye out with those things bouncing all over the place. Women are not doing themselves a favor by skimping on the bra! Rant over! Sara is so beautiful and she has the greatest cheek bones! Holy Cow doing a whole marathon! Wow! Her sister is a real piece of work.
  22. It looks like an Enell sports bra. Very good and very expensive. Good for her for getting a good bra although at her 90 day weigh in it was clear that she needed a new one. I know that feeling. I finally had to break down and get a new one after about 60 pounds down. http://www.enell.com/enell-sport
  23. I'm not wild about the armchair therapy either but I was expecting a heck of a lot more from Blake than that.
  24. Ya, ya, I know I'm really late to the party. Regarding his sister's death. She obviously had a seizure disorder and was on medication. My son also had a seizure disorder and took medication everyday. I don't know if all meds are the same but my son's meds were a blood level med. This means that the med is effective when there's a certain level in the blood. Missing one doss would not affect whether or not my son had a seizure and he certainly would not die if he missed one doss. Like I said, I don't know the particulars about David's sister but it just seems weird that he blames missing a dose of medicine for her death. David is a very good looking guy and I love his enthusiasm but he's a mouth breather and that kinda drives me crazy! The meeting with his parents was really annoying too. Mom seemed to say the right thing after awhile, that it wasn't David's fault, but his Dad! Ugh! He was so full of platitudes and didn't say anything comforting to David. He looked great at the final reveal. I think he's one of the first guys that I've seen lose so much weight and not still walk like a fat person at the end.
  25. I was looking forward to this show but lost interest just after the guy was murdered. It seemed like they were trying too hard. Can't wait for Survivor next week!
