Heroes Of Cosplay - General Discussion
Izzyboy replied to David T. Cole's topic in Heroes Of Cosplay
Yeah, she's a tiny little thing, I could put her in my pocket! I think she's my fav though, i've really liked the 3 costumes she did this season. And I don't mind hanging out in the shallow end of the pool and admitting I've got a crush on her! Overall a nice ending to the show. its not a perfect show by any means, but it does at least give some insight as to just how much work a lot of cosplayers do to get things just right. -
I almost wish Donny wasn't on this season just because he has to be around all of these douchebags in sheep's clothing. Of course, that's pretty much every season on Big Brother... At least Frankie had enough sense to give a side eye to Devin and Caleb's paranoia fueled rantings on Donny's supposed super spy past.

Heroes Of Cosplay - General Discussion

I thought this was Jesse's best costume by far and I'm glad he got recognized for it. I think its funny because I was watching an older episode when he was The Mandarin and I actually thought, "you know, that guy should try doing Thorin..." Carl has good ideas but his execution is too sloppy. Compared to the other cosplayers his lack a lot of refinement...and choosing "dark" or "macabre" characters isn't an excuse for that. -

I've just now gotten into this show. I knew it existed and I can't believe I never gave it a chance as (while not a cosplayer) this stuff is right up my alley! I haven't watched this episode yet (have it on the DVR) but can't wait to watch it! -
Totally agree...she's immensely popular and especially with my friends are aren't book walkers. Even with my friends that are she's pretty popular, two of my friends named their daughter after her... I didn't mind them not bringing Lady Stoneheart into this season. I had no expectations of what "should've" been shown though. I don't mind waiting!

Seriously! I couldn't stand having to hear Tyrion drone on and on with "wherever whores go...". I'm so glad we don't have to sit through that in the show because it really soured me on his chapters in the book.

Loved the season finale. The fight with the skeletons was more intense than I thought it would be when it first started. Now that Stannis is at the Wall that makes both of their stories so much more interesting which is obviously a good thing. Just knowing we're going to get interactions between characters that haven't spoken before is something I'm looking forward to. Speaking of new interactions, I love how they handled the Brienne/Pod and Arya/Hound encounter. That whole scene was the highlight of the episode for me. Kinda surprised we didn't get the line from Tyrion to Jamie about how Cersei has been treating him like shit and sleeping around behind his back. Although they never really showed much of that except for Lancel so I guess it would've came out of nowhere. And now our watch begins to season 5. On the bright side...we'll never be as far away from next season as we are right now! :)

S04.E09: The Watchers On The Wall 2014.06.08

Almost forgot to mention that I'm glad we had a Ghost sighting tonight! I actually cheered outloud when he burst from his pen and started mauling people...lol -

Actually I think it was either Grenn or the guy next to him (the one that was scared) that mentioned the giant was already as full of arrows and it hadn't even fazed him. Makes the fact that they were able to stop him all the more impressive. -

I know right? They did well in showing that even though he's kind of a prick, he really does have the Night's Watch's best interests at heart. We may not agree with his methods, but he's just doing what he feels he has to do. And he was a badass in the field of battle... Janos Slynt on the other hand...HATE. -

Ugh, sucks to see both Pyp and Grenn fall. They've been two of my favorite supporting characters in the series. At least they both went out well. Overall I was impressed and happy with the episode. I'm sure it'll draw a lot of comparisons with "Blackwater" since those are the only two single location episodes to date, but I think it held up well. John Bradley was particularly good I thought. -
Leroy checked his pockets and nope...he was all out of fucks to give. Attaboy RoyLee!

I'll join you guys in the shallow end, I've always had a crush on her! I like that CT always roots for her as well. I think she appreciates that CM is a figher. Laurel needs to be knocked down a peg or 10. Unfortunately I don't think it'll happen this season.

S04.E08: The Mountain And The Viper 2014.06.01
Izzyboy replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Game Of Thrones
That's kinda of how I feel. If it makes for a better character than I don't mind the show speeding things up a little as far as Sansa's concerned. I couldn't bear to read through most of her chapters but as far as the show goes I love seeing more of her character now. -

Wow, Oberyn's death scene lived up to the book in my opinion. Pedro Pascal was so good in that role. Its a shame it had to end so quickly, but he brought that character to life in a way that few else in this cast have with their characters. And poor Ellaria Sand...having to see him go like that. I'm wondering where they're taking the Grey Worm/Missandei relationship. It says a lot when I'm more interested in that relationship than anything Dany is doing... I'm also wondering if next week's episode will only be at the Wall a la the "Blackwater" episode where it stayed at Kings Landing the whole time... I'm so much more interested in Show!Sansa than I am Book!Sansa. -
Haha, the reactions to another Blood vs. Water here are kinda funny...back and forth it seems. I don't mind it as long as the returning players are good ones. Hopefully they're only ones coming back for the 2nd time and we don't get people on their 3rd and 4th time.

I liked the movie a lot as well. And I agree that the human characters were pretty bland, especially . I appreciated how they treated Godzilla as more of a force of nature, something that was going to do whatever if cared to do. It wasn't good or evil, it just had a job to do and had to see it carried out.

Poppy Field Movies: Once Is Not Enough!

Gladiator is forever being reran on TNT/TBS and I stop and watch it every damn time. -
So true, I love it when the show is able to use the book dialog unaltered...and in the hands of the actors playing Tyrion and Oberyn its absolute gold. Speaking of actors, I have to say that Sophie Turner has come a long way since the show has started. She's really delivering in her scenes and I'm as interested in Sansa's character as I ever have been, a large part due to her skills. I also love the job Rory Mccann has been and is continuing to do with the Hound. His talk with Arya could've felt really out of character, but they've done a good job developing the character to the point where he could actually open up and show some vulnerability. Awesome stuff.

Really loved the finale and I'm so happy to see this how end the season on such a hot streak! I think having Fiz survive was a misstep as it really could've added gravitas to the episode and would've further pushed Ward to "irredeemable" status. As it is though, it obviously leaves the door open for major permanent ramifications with Fitz...and maybe Fitz himself not being the happy go lucky guy we've all come to love. I actually liked that we didn't get scene with him at the end, it leaves us guessing as to just how bad he is. Loved the Garrett revival fake out. Sorry to see the character go, but great way to go out!

S04.E06: The Laws Of Gods And Men 2014.05.11
Izzyboy replied to Mya Stone's topic in Game Of Thrones
Absolutely. I can't believe that back in Season 1 I used to think he was a weak link. I chalk that up to his character not really having anything to contribute to the overall plot at that point though. Once Allen got to deal with more material in Season 2 and on he's really thrived. I'm much more interested in Show!Theon than I am Book!Theon solely because of Alfie Allen's performance. -
I think we all still remember CT carrying Bananas like a backpage so I can understand why Teej said it! Bananas is a tool, but I do have to give him credit as he has proven himself to be a top notch competitor, moreso than some of the other people he's usually aligned with in my opinion.

S04.E06: The Laws Of Gods And Men 2014.05.11

Really enjoyed that episode. And of course Tywin had a plan in the back of his mind He's always playing a long game, and getting Jamie out of the Kingsguard and in Castlerly Rock is exactly that. Great tension with the trial, Dinklage's performance was really well done I thought. LOVED seeing Braavos in the opening credits! I've felt they've been a little lax in updating the opening credits this season, but it was great seeing that appear as a new location. Definitely a deviation with Yara/Ramsey/Reek, but I enjoyed it and it added a change of pace to that storyline and gave Ramsey a valid reason for prettying up Reek for his future plans. -
I liked this episode as well. I'm hope the series keeps up the momentum and goes out on a hot streak. I think ending with momentum and a summer to really evaluate who and what the characters should be next year could really improve things!

LOL, you beat me to the joke! I really liked this episode. Yeah, not a lot of things made sense, but I don't watch OUAT for logical and well thought out plotlines...I mean these are the same guys behind Lost! :) It was a briskly paced and entertaining episode so I appreciated that.
