  1. This most recent episode was only 1 hour. They've started Mama Medium in the 2nd hour slot.
  2. I thought I remembered the same thing. But, I was too lazy to try to find the episode. Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy.
  3. I remember falling out of our car as a child. I can recall a car driving over me, but, not actually hitting me. I understand that since it was a busy 4 lane road it would have been more dangerous for them to slam on their brakes. I was unhurt and my parents came back for me. They also tied me to a tree when my mom cleaned our trailer. We lived on a lake and every time she finished cleaning inside the door and went to the back I went in and destroyed the kitchen. A family friend and my little cousin, both, drowned in that lake. It sounds horribly abusive what she did, but, I could play throughout the yard, she could hear if I called for her, but, I couldn't get in the front door. I'm alive and don't begrudge my mother, a young woman with doing what she had to. I wouldn't actually do it myself, but, early 70's were a different time.
  4. Damn that is one whole lotta hotness right there.
  5. The show started when Bill and Jen were first married and moved to Houston. They rented the apt. and seemed to focus on paying down debt before they became homeowners.
  6. Jay Leno, anyone. If your kids are fed and clothed and not being neglected, your bills are paid, I believe you should be able to spend your money how you wish. That's the joys of a free, capitalist society. Bill and Jen take good care of their kids and dogs. Let them enjoy the money they work for. Their kids will have college funds and always be well taken care of. Those $80,000 cars and renovations create jobs. Whether the jobs are primarily in the US or overseas, it's a job. I wish the jobs were in all in the US, but, I can't control corporations, or even my children, for that matter.
  7. I think Elizabeth looks more like Amber this season. She really is beautiful. Jonah is the image of Trent.
  8. Continuity, especially, in uniform is important. Jason shaved for the notification, but, while still in uniform on his way back in the talk with his daughter, he has scruff on his face and not just a shadow. That totally threw me off. Did anyone think of West Wing, "Two Cathedrals" when Brothers in Arms was playing? I will forever connect that show with the song, but, it was the perfect song for the final scene tonight. I guess Jason's mom will be staying to take care of the kids now. But, won't they have to move off base?
  9. Kate and her husband joined them in New Orleans. I'm sure they drove because they have 3 cars and it's easier to take than to sell and buy 3 cars. Jen really enjoyed having some "me" time. Good for her. She works hard. As for living downstairs while they reno, it's kind of smart, they are paying a mortgage on the house, might as well live in it, rather than pay the mortgage and rent elsewhere, which they were trying to avoid by not building. I'm sure they will limit the hours of the builders and they may coincide with Jen's hours so she won't really be there while they do most of the banging. I hope Kate and her husband are living elsewhere. It was very sweet of them to move their lives to continue working with the Kleins.
  10. I think in this case the bio dad wanted his son, but, as a long distance truck driver, he knew he couldn't do it alone. It was sweet that he said he'd bring the son to the bio-mom when he could. He did seem to still have some anger, but, he's trying to move on. It was so sweet that the adopted parents came to the meet. It was full circle. I always wonder how the adopted parents feel when they find out the kids meet their bio family. My mom had a baby at 16, in 1965, that her mother made her give away. She never forgot her. I was able to find the daughter in 2010 and they met. The daughter even traveled to see my mother when she was dying. She begged me not to pull the plug until she got there. I would never have done it anyway. This show resonates so much with me. The room gets awfully dusty when the parties meet. Despite my sister's adopted mom not wanting them to meet years ago, they were very supportive when we connected. On one of our visits we spent time doing ancestry stuff and it was awesome to see her connect with us in that way. Aww poor Tara and Priscilla. Priscilla gave her away,, hoping she had more of a loving mother than herself and it didn't work out. Those two are gonna love up on each other and do just fine.
  11. There is a series on Netflix right now, Sisters, in which the fertility Dr. was inseminating his patients. His daughter, whom he raised, in fact, had sex with one of those children in the pilot. Its a great show, if anyone is interested in that sort of show. It's an Australian show.
  12. Might be subconscious, he did grow up with like 7 or 8 older brothers and sisters.
  13. My dad was a diabetic, but, his number was 259 so he was pretty much safe anyway. My boss, an attorney, has told me that his son, born in 1967 literally saved his and his ex-wife's life. His number was 31. As a husband and student he got a deferral. It was discovered sometime during the pregnancy or delivery that his ex had a tumor. She lived and went on to have 2 girls when my other boss (the son) was in his teens. My uncle was 165, but, he enlisted so he could enter with his friends. My grandparents moved from Pittsburgh to Florida in May 1970 and he didn't want to get drafted down there. I'm not sure he ever left the US though. He worked in some kind of office logistics. I remember spending summer with him and my aunt in Georgia in the mid-70s. He was still serving at that point and later used his GI bill to get his accounting degree at the same college my uncle (who served in probably WWII) did. I never knew how the draft lottery worked. I just spent time explaining to my 19 year old son how it works and how his diabetes is slightly different than his grandfather's. But, he told me his T1D would still preclude him at this point. The basics of T1D are the same, except the insulin. In my father's day, insulin had to be kept cold. Now, once you open the dispenser pen, it only needs to be kept room temp. I am glad the whole episode was not war scenes. I'm curious as to how Jack and Nicky's dad became an alcoholic. It's sad to see the cycle continue. Poor Kevin.
  14. Last season they were looking into buying a new house. I wonder if they sold the old one before they completely had the new one.
  15. Terry serpico. Frank Sherwood from Army Wives.
  16. Ben must have had a job as a professor or similar prior to the trip. When he was in Manhattan, he looked at his phone and there were job listings for Lecturer, Professor, (or similar) when he was led to the Adio's father. So it seems he was looking for a similar position.
  17. 1. The froyo was end of first week not day. 2. The open house was near Pgh. Randall lives in NJ. So not same house.
  18. He grew up in NJ so I doubt his parents up and moved when he was drafted. He went to Penn State and that was in the middle of PA. I thought I saw younger siblings so that may be why the parents didn't attend, and, it was the day before Christmas Eve. You know she was busy preparing for the Feast of the Seven Fishes. (I think that's what it's called, my Italian cousins all celebrate it on Christmas Eve).
  19. He caught the immaculate reception, Terry Bradshaw threw it. The owner of the team, Mr. Rooney, didn't even expect the Steelers to win. He was in an elevator win it happened and came out to all the excitement. I didn't think Jack and Rebecca were together for like 8 years before the kids were born. That play was in 1972 and it looked way too warm at the carnival, yes, she asked for hot cocoa, but, that was 12/23. In the 'burgh it's freezing at that time of year, same as the super bowl. Although it does make sense that Jack would have just been home from the war for 6 months at that point.
  20. So i finally watched to end. Immaculate Reception. Best play in the NFL ever! Is this the precursor to Kate getting pregnant. WHO is She? Where is Kate? Yes, Deja's dad was the guy in the bike shop.
  21. Just started watching and at first I thought that maybe Franco Harris was Deja's dad, but, the timeline would be off. He was HUGE when he played in the 70s. I'd be more inclined to think her dad was a more recent player like Kordell Stewart as he played for my Steelers from 95-02. Franco was drafted in '72 the year Kordell was born and played for the Steelers until 1983. So he'd be more likely to be the father of the big three than Deja.
  22. It is still my absolute favorite show. Do rewatches, several a year.
  23. And if you don't write a will, your partner will not receive spouse status in the eyes of the courts.
  24. I worked with a woman who changed her name to match her son's father and her son. They never legally married, probably for benefits, but, presented as married and with same last name no one knew if they didn't tell them.
  25. Ive never heard them say why. But. She was probably young and it sounds like Angel was a preemie with special needs. Too much for her to handle. We can never know what issues someone has, but, it was nice she was there, and she got s corsage. But, Tish is his mother in all ways that count. I even heard him call Tish mom. My grandparents raised my nephew. My sister was 17 and couldn't. She later had 3 kids, 2 she raised. He called Gram mom.
