  1. I think Marge is naive to think her ex won't care. Just because they haven't been married in a long time doesn't mean it won't matter. How many affairs did she have? And what about those kids she is trying to mend her relationships with? Will they not care either? If you are going to write about it, let the injured party know beforehand. Even Jackie said that in hindsight she should have given Jennifer a heads up about her spoiled children article. And that didn't come close to being an issue like infidelity. I guess fame and money always win out.
  2. I haven't watched the episode yet, but forgive me of my ignorance: Is "housekeeper" no longer an acceptable term? What the heck is in it's place? Primary domicile domestic manager? I'd think that housekeeper would be more acceptable than cleaning lady or maid or "the help."
  3. Run, Tre, Run. Between the road rage incident and this, go far away.
  4. I actually wonder if it's because Nonna's passing was not expected. Nonno was always the one with the health problems, we saw it throughout the years. Remember Juicy saying that one of these times he wasn't going to come out of the hospital? They knew they had limited time with him and honestly probably got more years with him than they ever anticipated. But Nonna was the healthy one. The stronger one. She was supposed to be around longer. And quite frankly, even when she went into the hospital, they probably expected her to come home. So there's an added trauma there of watching the healthy one die. I think Joe hid behind his work when it came to his father. I think he had a lot of guilt over what that relationship became over the years, probably including things we never saw, and that's why he really did not seem to make the time. He always said "I'm working!" but I call bull. I even remember him complaining to Frank about Teresa and his dad, thinking he'd get backup from Frank and Frank saying no, you're wrong, you have to make the time. When the entire Giudice/Gorga feud was going on, it was all about the younger generation mending their relationship, and that was somehow going to miraculously fix the other issues. But it doesn't work that way and I believe that relationship was forever dented. So in some ways, there might have been an element of relief for Joe when his father passed. It sounds awful, but the feelings around losing your parents are more complex than you ever realize until you go through it yourself. As for Antonia growing up, it literally makes me sick the way they treat this. It reminds me too much of Danielle taking Christine to her first gyno appointment. I remember when Gia asked for a bra and Teresa taking her shopping, it was such a relatable moment. Tre peeking in the dressing room and Gia yelling at her to get out. Such a mom-daughter THING that happens all the time. But with the Gorga's - ugh. It's so misogynistic, from both of them. Didn't Melissa make a joke about taking her to the gynecologist and if it turned out she wasn't a virgin she was grounded or something like that? How about empowering your daughter with information, confidence, and allowing her to be comfortable coming to EITHER parent with any question at all. I don't doubt that when my girls get older they'll come prancing down in an outfit we don't approve of, but my husband sure as hell isn't going to be touching their stomach and talk about locking them up in chastity belts when they do or whatever. The old school italian mentality about raising daughters is not cute, and while it is old school that doesn't make it acceptable, and people need to STOP making excuses for it.
  5. I was reading that Jackie said that once the fight was done, that she was so relieved that she was drinking and all lovey dovey to Tre because it was such a relief. She said it didn't all make it to camera. You know what else didn't make it to camera? All the stuff she said in interviews that she and Evan went through post rumor, deciding to stay on the show or not, etc. She said in interviews early on that she was really proud of the process they went through, how they handled it, and came to a decision together and we would see it all. We didn't see a thing. Andy is not going to waste camera time on somebody considering quitting (the audacity). I mean, Jennifer's lame family dinner made the cut over that. I have wondered about Kathy and Richie. Covid robbed them of their comeback. But I agree, that was an excuse for the party, nothing more, nothing less.
  6. What a boring episode. I think the reason this season is so dull and manufactured is because there was nothing dramatic happening coming out of covid lockdown. Even the Marge/Jennifer fighting feels overdone. The only emotionally legitimate moment of this episode was seeing Milania comforting Audriana.
  7. Honestly, I think that they make these comments because after both parents are gone, it is an incredibly lonely feeling. It doesn't matter who is around you, if you are married or divorced, surrounded by kids or no kids, even if there are cousins, aunts and uncles near by. It is lonely. And the sibling(s) can best help recreate the feeling of that specific family unit. At least in my experience. But it can go other ways. Joe probably feels the same way about Melissa and quite honestly if Tre and Juicy had made it as a couple, she would be saying it to him as well. Basically it comes down to a giant void that you desperately try to fill with the people that were closest to them and the people thay are closest to you Sometimes that overlaps. But I am not sure I am explaining myself well. I hear them say "you are all I have left" and I get it. The peck on the lips, however? Not so much.
  8. Yeah, I don't get the attack on Jen for Bill's success and their subsequent lifestyle. Melissa didn't work for years and screeched about a gold rolex, teresa didn't work for years, jackie isn't exactly churning out the columns these days, and we watched 2 seasons of divorced Dolores letting Frank pay her way. At least Bill is legit as far as we know. He can explain what he does beyond "working!" or "business!", nobody has gone to jail, been disbarred, etc. Jennifer gives plenty of reasons to dislike her if you are looking for them. Being the wife of a successful plastic surgeon shouldn't be one of them. Especially considering how many women in this area sit alone in ugly mcmansions while their husbands go to work and their nannies cart the kids everywhere because they are too exhausted from getting their nails done, powerwalking and doing tiktok videos. No I am not joking. If she is going to ride Jen for her husband's success then she should be hating on a lot of people in the area, and probably a majority of her social circle.
  9. So I remember it being that allegedly Evan has a girlfriend, and that it's not the first time he has heard it and that his house always has women talking. It was never clear if he heard it before or after. His expression and delivery was also...something. Frank said he didnt believe it, said let's take a vote, all said no way except Joe B who hemmed and hawed and said he was 99% sure it never happened. So the reframing of the night doesn't quite fit the actuality. Or at least not how I remembered it? Edit: Just remembered I have the episode recorded on sling, I am going back to watch, wasabi and all. Edit again: Joe B says I've got no details, the rumor was that he's got a girlfriens. And to be quite honest with you, I've sort of heard the same rumors (note: either joe tripped over the words or the bravo editing monkeys were playing around because the words "the same" are jarbled - it sounds like editing, truth be told) JoeG (TH) - holy shit, Joe just dropped a bomb! Bill says - Joe, are you revealing your source? JOEb - i mean, to be quite honest with you, in any given day there are 10 women in my house and none of them talk quietly.
  10. OMG the taylor ham was the highlight of the episode. And yes, it's Taylor ham. The people who call it pork roll just don't know what they are doing and are super confused in life. 😘🤪😇 Taylor ham, egg and cheese is probably the most popular of the taylor ham breakfast sandwich out there, however I highly recommend trying taylor ham and swiss on a bagel. It is life changing. It's much closer to bacon than breakfast sausage from a flavor standpoint. Maybe a cross between bacon and canadian bacon? But better! I don't know what to make of this Evan and Jackie thing. She is a wreck. And I'm now at the point of thinking that if it is so ridiculous in your mind, then why is this the continued reaction. I can understand the initial reaction. But the continued reaction just doesn't match her narrative. I think Jackie deeply loves Evan - to the point of desperately loving him (not necessarily a bad thing). And I think he represents an element of stability that she didn't have growing up. Her brother had special needs which puts a strain on any family, she struggled with her weight which turned into an eating disorder, she and her sister never had a relationship, her parents don't live together but are still married, both "went away," etc. Enter Evan and things start to come together. Her eating disorder begins to heal. They have 4 beautiful and healthy children. They live in a good town, in a nice home -- life gets easier (although nobody said being a mom was easy) and more stable. So I think she loves Evan. And I think anything that shakes that stability, shakes her to the core and cuts deeper than it might the average person. Combo that with the relentlessness of Teresa, the fact that there's nobody who is 100% on her side (hence her "why are people yelling at me, what did I do???") when in the real world they probably would be, and Jackie is a mess. I also think she's gotten thinner. Is that just me? The more curious person in all of this is Marge. Jackie's reaction might be highly emotional, even moreso than we might expect (although as an emotional person myself, I might be acting the same way for all I know, I've never been in a scenario like that), but Marge is way over the top angry. I can only assume that it's going to come out that she somehow was involved. Somehow the clip of boys night that they played back didn't feel right. Either they clipped it too short to not capture all that he said or they showed it from a different camera angle so you couldn't see Joe B's expression when he dropped his little bomb, but it wasn't just his words, it was his delivery as well and that replay last night was not the full delivery. And while she's correct that Jen wasn't there, Marge wasn't there either yet is demanding and insistent that her version of the exchange is right. And JoeG and Frank are not sitting there saying "Joe didn't say it" they are saying "we don't believe it." There are nuances happening around that entire discussion that haven't been revealed at this point in filming. I thought it was interesting that Teresa was quaking in her boots about having to talk to Evan and GOOD FOR JACKIE for not letting her slip out of that one. I have said from the start that EVAN should have called TERESA and that would have stopped this shit in its tracks because she would have been all bothered and flummoxed and backed down right away. Put me in the Dolores and Frank camp, their quick "hey, this was a great dinner party!" exchange made me legit LOL . And honestly, I also like Jen and Bill. I loved her pink and black outfit. And again, I lol'd at the entire neck massage vibrator thing. Speaking of laughing, did anybody besides me laugh at Melissa throwing a platter of cheese at Teresa and she just didn't move from her seat? I mean, how much drama are you surrounded with that someone throws CHEESE CUBES at you and you just keep right on talking??? May I never reach that point in life. Did anybody watch the show after RHONJ? Caroline was talking with Andy about reality tv and I thought she said some interesting things about production. So did Luann from NY. Luanne said "kill them with kindness." Caroline said "they become almost part of your family, they are always there, but on the flip side you know what they are doing, so you want to be careful around them!" I'm of the belief that this entire thing was planted by production because they needed drama coming out of covid lockdown and perhaps production doesn't particularly like Jackie that much. My understanding is that reality show production crews want full access -- not a regimented, carefully controlled image that Jackie is trying to dictate? Just a guess. I do think Marge is complicit in this somehow. Maybe it went from Marge, to production overhearing, to Teresa or something. Am I the only hoping that these ladies see how much better they look in a more natural look and stop with the heavy extensions and caked on makeup? Hey Jackie - let that natural curl loose, why hide it anyway! Jen, lay off the makeup and stop with the coiffed hair! Melissa, embrace those pretty flowy dresses and trying to dress like Antonia! Teresa, why are you styling yourself like Cruella? I don't know, I think these ladies are so much prettier when they are less done up. Mainly because when they are, they look so harsh. I mean, Jen looks 15 years younger when her hair is loose and wavy and she wears lighter makeup, or no makeup at all.
  11. You mean something like "first you went to jail now, you are reduced to waving dildos around and cursing at everybody, your poor dead parents must be so ashamed." Or "I am so glad your parents, god bless them, aren't here to see what you've become.: Or "i feel so bad for you, everybody you love leaves you - Joe is in Italy and moved on immediately, your parents are both dead, Joe and Melissa only care because of the cameras, and for the sake of the kids. Oh, your girls? Give it time, people usually go to therapy in their 20s to deal with the shit their parents put them through. You're going to be all alone, you are halfway there already and are too dumb to even realize it." It would be cruel, but damn if Jackie threw something like that her way, the table would probably flip through our tv screens.
  12. Right. Although I am not sure his delivery of the "i've heard it before" statement makes sense in the context of hearing it being discussed after the fact. That is the spin Margaret tried to give it but honestly, it feels a little weak. That said, while I still think her face is confusing to look at, Margaret is awesome right now. She is calling it all out.
  13. I grew up in suburban nj and kids started hitting the nyc club scene (limelight, palladium, etc.) as young as 14/15. Most just lied about where they were going, came up with a reason to stay out late, etc. If it was easy to access here, imagine if you were a child star in the 90s in Hollywood. I had no idea that the angst of the 90s was so universal, it felt so isolating at the time. But if you think about it, it was everywhere. In our music, in our clothing, etc. We were literally wrapped up in angst. I didn't put that together until watching this. I am not sure if I am totally squicked out by Charlie Sheen or if I kind of love that she has such fond memories of her first consensual time and that he, of all people, made her feel so safe and content. Not sure if others watched this and found themselves saying "i did that too!" or "i wore that too!" but I totally had that teddy bear diary and my now hubby and I have the same magical "it's snowing in yankee stadium" baseball story. And I also lay in a field stoned out of my gourd many a time in the 90s while waxing philosphical about our collective purpose as humans. To quote David Arquette - life got better.
  14. From your mouth to the feds ears. Just saying. I have been skeptical of that since day one. I remember there was a reunion where somebody asked Melissa what Joe actually did for work. She couldn't answer. She stumbled around saying he was very successful. I can say flat out what my hunny does. So can everybody I know. Jackie can say Evan is in finance. Jennifer can say Dr. Aydin. Dolores can point out former lawyer and now a house flipper. Marge can say contractor. Melissa? Where there is smoke...that is all. Speaking of Dr. Aydin, you would be surprised what plastic surgeons get called in for. I know a woman who fell and needed a few stiches in her forehead. They had a plastic surgeon do it. Why? Because it was a woman who cut open her head and a plastic surgeon would have the experience to do the stiches to minimize scarring as much as possible (they didn't even offer the option, they just automatically had a plastic surgeon do it rather than one of the ER docs.). So even a little thing like that can need require a plastic surgeon at a hospital.
  15. It is a different house all together, they "upgraded." It was in the press a while back. Melissq has also said she prefers a bay house to a beach house. Truth be told, a waterfront house in Tom's River is going to be much more affordable than beachfron LBI. They got that one for under $1M. Put 3000sf beachfront with a pool and you are looking at a much different price point. https://realityblurb.com/2019/07/16/exclusive-rhonjs-melissa-gorga-and-husband-joe-buy-975k-new-jersey-shore-house-see-photos-of-inside-and-the-beautiful-views/ They are also building a new, smaller house in Franklin Lakes. Melissa said she doesn't want the huge house again. Honestly, it sounds to me like they are trying to lower their overhead somewhat.
  16. David is never going to propose to Dolores. He will have a million reasons why and keep moving the goal post. But he will never propose. Cameras or not. Dolores has some choices to make.
  17. JHC this episode was boring. I kept checking my watch to see when it was going to end. I am also not understanding the purpose of this realtor storyline. Are they testing her and the british assistant to see how the audience responds? I'm going to give them both a big fat thumbs down. Here's my thought on Jackie. While her sensibilities are still all offended, she's making the wrong move by not joining these gatherings. Because Father Andy doesn't like that shit. You show up and fight some more. Or maybe you pull out once. But not continuously. And her cherry picking who she's willing to talk and film with isn't enough either because nothing happens that way. Hell, her shoot with Melissa didn't even make it to screen, they showed maybe 8 seconds of it. She should know better. You show up for the drama no matter who is the target. Okay. Now. Can we please talk about the fashion choices at a pool party? Because that was one of the most tragic things I've ever seen. WHAT were all those people WEARING and WHY would they do that to themselves? I'm asking this so sincerely. I don't get it. It must be absolutely exhausting spending that much time and money on looking that absolutely terrible.
  18. Okay. Somebody help me. WHAT did Margaret do to her face???
  19. I am rewatching rhonj, just got to Jackie's first season. She and Evan both look really different. Just saying. We know she had her teeth done, but she has clearly had some other work. Just not sure what. And we know from the press that Evan lost some weight, and he grew in the facial hair. That might account for tbe difference in appearance but I won't lie I wondered if he had some suble work done too. Somebody go back and watch - the episode right after the oklahoma trip. You get jackie and evan talking while she folds laundry. It is a big difference.
  20. I'm going to go with he didn't. I don't know why, I just don't see it. He seems like a pretty committed family guy. But he also seems like he really just wanted to be along for the ride on this show, every time the group gets together he seems like he doesn't quite fit in or want to be there. Don't really blame him either. Of all the husbands, he's the least famewhory. Followed by Bill. Here's the thing about the hair extensions. They are everywhere! Walk down the UES and everybody from the 15 year old to the 70 year old grandmother all have the same damn hair. It's one thing to be on trend. But eventually trendy becomes basic and boring. Eventually the hair extensions trend is going to go, or maybe it has, and we'll see something different. Or maybe it already has gone and I've been in my house for the past year and have no idea. I'd also love to see people embrace natural styles again. Melissa and Teresa have curly hair, bring it back! I suspect Jackie's hair is naturally wavy or curly. I'm so tired of mermaid hair, OR slicked down hair. What's wrong with natural wave and curl if you have it? All of these women think they are so unique and such individuals. They are a dime a dozen. Especially in northern NJ. Throw a stick and you'll hit a botoxed, lip filled, mermaid haired 40 year old squeezing into her 15 year old's ripped jeans - as if that's a mentally healthy thing to aspire for. I often worry that this generation of women is going to hit 70 and the mental health aspect of this is going to rear its ugly head when they see what they've done to themselves. Sometimes I love Jackie's style. Other times, when I see things like denim bows, I cringe. She often goes the 80s route and not in a good way. Not to mention, this was the summer. Summer in NJ can be MISERABLE. Who wears skin tight jeans and a tank top when it's 92 and humid outside? WHAT has Marge done to herself? Just before watching this episode, I watched the episode in Milan where Siggy gives her half-assed apology for calling Margaret an anti-semite because she said Hitler's name. That was OG pigtailed Marge in those seasons and the difference in her appearance is jarring.
  21. I felt bad for Evan. He seemed so completely BEFUDDLED that people weren't more offended on his behalf. He also seemed embarrassed and like he had no interest in the 2nd party and Jackie needed to stop talking about it and just let people have a good time. That was how Evan was going to move past it. I thought Evan's explanation that there are things that he wants to do in life where your name and reputation matter and that something like this could be really damaging was a heck of a lot better than Jackie screaming that he is in finance (yes, yes, we know) because I still stand by that most people don't care about a super rich finance guy having an affair in and of itself. I am still bothered by Jennifer's reaction to Marge having sex with her boss when she was 22. What Marge was ultimately describing was a climate of sexual harassment. Her older male boss who was in a position of power and influence in an industry that the 22 year old Marge had wanted to be in since childhood asked her to sleep with him, and she did because it was awkward and uncomfortable and a different time. Translation: she felt she had no choice. Then Jennifer says "omg you keep that stuff private!!!" No honey, you don't, especially if you don't want to. You scream about that shit from the rooftops so that the 16 year old working in the ice cream shop this summer to save money for college because her family can't afford to send her doesn't feel like she has to sleep with her 21 year old boss or risk losing her job. That is why these conversations are so important. Joe and Melissa are boring and predictable. Who is the new cast member, the realtor or Marge's assistant with the half british, half jersey accent?
