This is an incredibly interesting read along those lines. Incidentally, both AuntiePam and DonLogan were on the old HBO boards with us during Deadwood's run, and as you'll see, he has further cred. He worked tirelessly to save the show. It seems that Milch's story changes with his mood.

I think so too, and that's saying something considering Rossi wasn't particularly likeable when he first joined. He was kind of a jerk, actually, but he came around and his transition into a solid, even beloved teammate is definitely a writers coup. With Emily I think a lot is owed just to Paget herself. She's so natural and realistic, you really couldn't help but like her from the get-go, and she built on that throughout.

JLH looks like she's seen a... wait for it... GHOST!

That's the spirit, SSAH! My gut tells me she'll be okay. I'm not having any violently rejective Seaver-esque feelings about her, and everyone so far has said she's cool, so we'll see. Really liked Blake, and would love more than anything to see the above suggestion come true: Emily and Elle back in the same episode... but I won't hold my breath for that one. My focus is Reid of course, and to be honest I could use a little more Hotchner in the mix. A lot more, actually.

Ha! We're just the opposite JMO, I'd like to help him muss it up more. ;)

I like Matthew, both his positioning and his fucking awesome anchor sock. Love his 'mad scientist just had sex' hair, and his tentative smile, all very Spencer. Kirsten is pouting. Joe does look amused. Shemar looks intense. JJ looks bored. JLH looks positively morbid. Thomas looks serious, though that's no surprise.

The introduction of Blake went a long way in re-establishing REID as a force to be reckoned with and appreciated as a vital team member. I'll always be appreciative towards her character for that reason, but also because she brought a calm confidence and professionalism that was very welcome in a new cast member. If anyone had been marginalized in s7 it was him, and I was glad to see his contributions brought back to the forefront as the team, one by one, remembered his gifts. I'm not saying that's the sole reason she was brought to the show, she wasn't a prop... but it didn't hoit. ;) I also liked how when her and Emily finally met, it was genial and warm. This show has never tried to give us "catty women co-workers" trope, and I'm always glad for that. Our people have always gotten along. At least, in service of the story.

Emily continues to be important to the CM family, but Blake brings her own special touches and talents to appreciate. I take it you haven't heard what's in store for 10?

I don't know how they are quantified, but it's based on a celeb's name and face recognition, familiarity, and popularity. Meaning how likely are people to watch just because so-and-so is on 'Show X'.
