Okay so I've watched it twice now... and I'm still unclear what they charged Cowles with. Purchasing dead body parts? Is there a doctor Frankenstein law? Is that even a thing? Or was he just going to get a bunch of press and shamed, his family in pieces (so to speak)? He deserves to go to prison, I guess for trafficking in human remains (also just plain being a freak of nature)? But did anyone catch the actual charge? SO many question marks in this post. :P

Season 10 Spoilers, Speculation, and Stabs in the Dark!
Wilowy replied to Wilowy's topic in Criminal Minds
I can see him being annoyed with her for not being able to get past it, considering she saved Reid's life. And in Morgan's world, that's happened a dozen times over, so I can understand him having a hard time with her being wibbly about it. He's more pragmatic and probably just feels if she hadn't pulled that trigger, his little brother would be dead, so what's to worry about. It could also be he's worried about her being in danger by going to see this guy, closure or not. -
I think Reid should've been involved in the discussion on the plane, but other than that throughout the episode he was very present.
-
The Goobies were awards that Matthew gave out to cast and crew in 2010. Little statuettes that were for things like "Worst Haircut" and the like. Here's a video and I believe they were an extra on the dvd. Adorable.
-
Yeah, I asked some people but nobody seems to know why. Bummer.
-
I think it's a bit extreme, zannej, to say Reid got short-changed. He had firsties with Callahan, and got everyone back on track, and figured out the horse thing. I'm not saying I don't always want MORE of him, just that it was a really good teamisode, and I don't think it's an indicator that he got or will get shafted. Love Hewitt isn't A-list, that's true, but she's made it abundantly clear that she's in Moonves' lap. I expect she'll get whatever she wants from her tenure on the show, I just don't see any malevolence in her. As others have said, time will tell. As far as AJ goes, I get almost a sense of relief from her. Like "Oh yay, maybe I don't have to be so tense now." If JLH's influence has the effect of relaxing everyone a skosh, I'm cool with that.
-
What I mean is that I doubt she'll be underutilized. We've seen no indication of it. I'm pretty sure they know what they have. My only fear is that Reid might get short changed. Let's hope not.
-
I don't know that it would come to all that. JLH seems to know that she's low man on the pole for now, and it doesn't seem as though she's looking for the big responsibility of being the show's lead. And I'm sure she's not looking to bring any ugliness into the mix.

JMO, I've noticed that too, how in some pics he looks fit as ever, then in others he's really beginning to show his age. With the exception of Matthew, who's bulked up (for him), I think everyone is thinner. At least Thomas isn't scary-gaunt any more like he was beginning of 8. Let's hope JLH doesn't hop on that train and get all bony. -
Anyone know why they took season 9 off Netflix? Might it be because ION is getting ready to air it?

Cute snap of AJ and Joe at the chat yesterday. They were pouting because the others weren't there.
-
So this interesting thing happened when I was taking a screen grab... I really hope we get to see her soon.
-
Also liked that this happened. All is not well in Reidville.
-
Something else I liked was that they didn't pair Kate with Reid right away. I liked that she was with Hotch and Rossi mostly, and then her scene at the end with Meg felt natural and warm. Oh, and on-board too with those that mentioned the Andi Swan connection. While I hope that does NOT mean we get Seaver inflicted upon us, a Swan appearance would be welcome, indeed. Very pleased with this first offering of the season.
-
I still think JJ's the female lead, but that may change as Kate hits her stride. I kind of hope she takes a while to do it, I like that she has a learning curve and isn't all perfect out of the gate.
-
The girl is her niece, that's pretty much all we know just yet.
-
I've always sensed an overt hostility towards JJ by some that frankly, I don't get. She's not a bitch (except to Reid for s7 and I screamed about that) any more, she's not a horrible person... she's just a career FBI agent trying to have a life. I like both JJ 1.0 and 2.0 and hope she continues what they started last year, in finally moving forward with the integration of those two sides of her personality. kdm07, I'm glad you like her too, although we part ways on the 'ship' topic. I LOVE her with Reid, and write about them almost exclusively. ;P

As far as I care, she can let fly with whatever she wants. I like hearing hints and hopes from the showrunner. Like it or not, she's in charge, and is the one person who can toss out anything she feels like. She has no more duty to stick to any pie in the sky hopes than anyone else, but I like hearing her musings, nonetheless. Now if she comes out and says "This is fucking going to happen, full stop." then we have every reason to expect it and call her on it if it doesn't come to fruition. But if she is just tossing out hopes and maybes? Fine, I'll listen, and I'll respond if they are awesome enough. And maybe that is what they do, anyway, as a matter of sussing out public opinion. Not to say they always listen, but say if Erica says "We're hoping and we're going to try and get Jane Lynch to return this season for a guest appearance." She has planted a seed, which most of us would respond to one way or another, and they get all this feedback from the viewers, and still she has made no commitment to actually do it. So it's kind of brill. -
Her hair was pretty bad. I guess it might be because she usually has rockin' hair and she didn't want Kate to be about that. I also like that she's slightly above-weight for the television norm. Go, curvy girls!
-
Ha ha, oh normasm. I guess you won't be tuning in for any more episodes then? ;)
-
I was going "Where's Reid" when they were all talking about their scars... I expected him to walk past, blowing on a cup of coffee and say "Yeah, well I died." before taking his seat next to Hotch. heh.
-
Well, that happens to the best of them, even Hotch. I liked this first ep a lot more than last year's. Excited to see where it goes!
