  1. Agreed JMO, that it should have been JJ to present the case, it would have been a really nice moment for us fans, too. I immediately thought that when Kevin (da fuq?) showed up to do it. I can see him stepping in on Garcie's keyboards for a bit, but presenting the case? And acting like he's done it before? I didn't buy that. *edited because the case isn't the profile*
  2. I don't know for certain, but I think the Kevin thing might have been deliberate. Contract negs would be starting any time now in case there's a next year (which there will be), and he isn't one to make waves, considering all he does outside of CM is go be Xander at genre conventions. The PTB may have wanted to gauge viewer reaction to him taking over Garcia's spot to use as a bargaining chip.
  3. I loved that actor though, wasn't he amazing and weird with the goggles and the black underwear? And the gasoline trail to kill the guy in the box... I know it's been done a billion times but it was really effective here. Was this the first Asian UnSub they've ever had? I can't remember at the moment.
  4. Yes but then the REID and the Morgan and the talking and the LDSK that absolutely cannot just fall away... we need to encourage this with the writers so they KEEP DOING IT! Honoring the previous years educates them into what we keyed into, and what we loved about Pre-6! I think Janine gave us an engaging, interesting episode. I fucking LOVED that Morgan was there at the end, are you kidding me? That was gorgeous! And I don't care that Pen may have been making that trip for selfish reasons. We all do things selfishly sometimes, they don't always have to be perfect. Loved Aaron being the 'glue' in this ep... he just was, he helped keep everything cohesive and on-point (and omg he kicked in a door!), and he was gorgeous. Kate fit right in, and I really like her with Rossi. I happened to like his remark about their 'love child', and Derek's calm "I heard that" as he came in, hand on Rossi's shoulder. Actual co-workers make remarks like this all the time to one another, and please, they've all been through the fire together. It was okay, and it was meant as nothing more than a warm jab and an affectionate acknowledgment of their closeness.
  5. Wow, so I did really like this one, and I was completely caught up in the story... I love how everyone was all mixed up with each other at different times, I loved that Morgan and Reid got their moments, I loved the LDSK mention, and the insight into what Spencer did after shooting him. And I really liked that Morgan showed up for her, despite his reservations, in the end.
  6. Asinine? What was asinine to you? I thought the UnSub was pretty creative, and functional, which isn't ever the case... and I didn't think the Garcia scenes were schmaltzy at all - and the end... can you really say it didn't touch you to see Morgan there? I knew it was coming, but Penelope didn't. It was lovely. And I missed her at her post. Xander can fill in once in a while, but I missed her.
  7. Hmm, so James Colby Baylor was the UnSub in "Penelope", and Greg Baylor is the guy who tried to kill her and Spencer? ...
  8. I wrote a poem about his long hair. I just love this look... relaxed and confident, my favorite type of Reid. He's in character here, but jusssst barely veering into Matthew. I really love what he's wearing too (it's that damned fob again!), although I'll bet he would've preferred they kept his darkeye.
  9. Yeah, guys, he is still fit as the proverbial fiddle, but he has dropped some pounds, big-time...
  10. Janine is really hard to peg for me. Sometimes I can't believe the shit she cranks out, like oh my god that ridiculous The Inspiration or the torture-porny Proof... and then she'll bust her ass to do an excellent offering like The Edge of Winter (where she did double scripts!) or a solid one with a sympathetic UnSub and a great Reid scene like With Friends Like These , or one that fares better on rewatch like The Pact. She's just all over the place and I'm hoping tonight's episode caught her on a good week.
  11. Leaving this here because jesus fucking christ, but also... does it look to anyone else like he's tilted? His shoulders look straight, but... is it maybe because that backshadow is slanted? I dunno, he looks like he's doing the Michael Jackson Smooth Criminal lean.
  12. Halloween UnSub. ;)
  13. Like when Spock says about Kirk in STIII: The Search For Spock, "He's a man of deep feelings.", he's not speaking to his gender, but about the emotions. :)
  14. Well, no, what I meant to say was exactly what I said up above. You telling me what I meant to say is dismissive and inaccurate. So I mentioned she's a woman. She is one, and I don't think that I have to leave that out of anything when talking about her. Perfectly fine to have any and all the feelings she's having, and I don't for one second think she won't come out of it stronger. People don't react to different situations in the same way every time. I think it's something that is worth exploring in her character. You're right about one thing, I do like her.
  15. Oh my point wasn't meant to be that all women act like her, but that her personality is totally that and you can't discount that just because she's a woman. This is extremely upsetting to her for whatever reason and you or I shouldn't impose our ways of coping onto her. She's never been a bastion of uber professionalism and Hotch well knows it, and doesn't care. Like he's said many times, 'she gets the job done'. Well, that doesn't mean she has to be a robot in every situation. She's always worn her heart on her flamboyant sleeve and I don't see why she has to be all stoic all of a sudden for this instance. So she takes a few days off and goes to deal with it... I don't see anything wrong with that. Also, who's life is on the line in this instance? I didn't pick up on that.
  16. Oh no, like usual you are totally wrong. ;) And like usual you totally think I am. I look forward to the day we can agree! :D
  17. *sigh*, you're probably right. Oh well, what's to be done except 'carry on'? :)
  18. Ha, well, as is the norm-asm, we disagree, on every single point. You have no idea if Janine is even taking that tack. I love the gigantic leaps in judgment you nearly always make before having seen the show! Tomorrow and tomorrow, my friend. We shall see! :D
  19. Sweet! I like your scenario, but what about everything Morgan says to Garcia? I don't think he's lying to her... and ugh - I might officially be tired of talking about this. ;)
  20. I hate it when they do that. A&E will show eps up to 100, then skip it to show The Slave of Duty instead. Blerg.
  21. I don't see why some are saying she's 'incompetent', all of a sudden. If anything, I've seen complaints everywhere that she's TOO competent. "Depending too much on Garcia...", "Garcia's magic computer...", "Garcia has all the answers...". Just because she's freaking out right now doesn't make her less competent all of a sudden. Women are allowed to have emotions, feel weird, act weird, attach importance to things others may find odd, and see things differently than others. She's still Penelope, she's just going to go through something for about 45 minutes. I think we all can handle that, and in my opinion, should be supporting the character instead of tearing her down.
  22. Of course you can. Confession trumps trial.
  23. Or... she would've gotten him drunk and nailed him. Awesome.
  24. Take umbrage to? I think you mean take 'liberties with'? I don't see any of the writers getting offended by the legal process. And they do attempt to explain the rapidity of the guy's situation. What I do take umbrage to is your analogy of the BAU as executioners. They kill UnSubs regularly yes, when they themselves or someone else is being attacked, or such attack is imminent. The use of deadly force is standard and expected in their line of work when warranted, especially when other lives are at stake. The only person who actually executed someone was Elle. ETA* Oh, I see what you mean - Janine taking umbrage with the actual death penalty itself, not the due process. I see...
