  1. I forgot to comment on the stuff at the end with Nancy’s other daughter Michelle, and Nancy talking about trying to convince Lauren to cop a plea. It appears Nancy and Michelle still have a good relationship but there seemed to be an underlying sadness at the end of the scene. And we didn’t hear from Lauren herself except through the reconstructed trial testimony, though we might hear directly from her next episode And that defense attorney still trying to defend NXIVM and ignoring the abusive treatment. I’m glad the lead prosecutor weighed in on the Tourette study and how a good therapist can use cognitive behavior to alleviate the symptoms and that NXIVUM’s abusive practices were not good
  2. It seemed Isabelle had/has OCD and I don’t know what else so I’ll bet that had a lot to do with her tics or making them worse. So if she got control of her tics but not her OCD and other issues, I’m not surprised other stuff came up that she had to deal with, including stuff with her parents. Along with stuff that already existed, she has to deal with being abused by NXIVM. How is NXIVM doing a good thing with Tourette’s if they abuse the person along the way?
  3. Episode 3: I was beginning to think they were spending too much time on the Tourette study and its supposed success and wasn’t sure how it would tie in with the rest of the series, and then it took a dark turn and showed how it tied in. Isabelle talking about how she felt controlled and shamed while trying to be cured was heartbreaking and of course showed exactly the devious practices NXIVM were doing. Her parents were something else and their acceptance of at least part of NXIVM because it supposedly helped her definitely wasn’t helping her heal It was also interesting to hear from Nancy saying she felt afraid of Keith and felt she couldn’t speak up around him. I’m glad she started getting therapy, but that seems to go against everything she and NXIVM taught, so I’m not sure how Nancy is reconciling that with her lament in a previous episode that a lot of people were helped
  4. BARB ratings are in for the BBC/iPlayer 7-day numbers: 5.295 million viewers and 5th overall for the week. Pretty good catchup number So with 7 day ratings, 5th overall for the week, 3rd on the BBC behind the 2 Strictly shows, and 2nd most watched drama (behind Doc Martin)
  5. But the good thing is, we don’t really have to worry about that as David is only here to lead the 60th specials
  6. I too liked the Frank and Danny stories. Frank really had a sticky problem on his hands with that louse of a former PC. I guess in the end he went with full honors and speaking at the service in order to uphold the office. And I too liked the widow who clearly endured a lot. And I really like the psychic lady even if I don’t believe in that stuff and I like her chemistry with Danny
  7. Given that the Doctor gently turned her down in Legend of the Sea Devils and just wanted to remain friends (though that was a bit ambiguous at the time) and live in the moment, Yaz likely realized that seeing how things went with Ace and Tegan and with the Doctor regenerating, it was time to leave. Some of it was implied but given the Doctor liked her back but was too afraid to have a relationship with her (from Legends), it seemed only a matter of time before Yaz realized it was best to leave and go live her life. The Doctor likely felt the same way, hence her wanting to regenerate alone. The Doctor is a hero to so many in the universe, but is a mess in her personal life and can't really get close to most people. Also, the Doctor dropped Yaz in the same place the other companions were meeting; Dan or Graham mentioned she supposedly had a mysterious invite like them. I don't know if that's the same place (Croydon?) Yaz dropped off her group after the Doctor lost consciousness
  8. I would love for Bob to return. It would be interesting for Sam to tell him about Sas or find some way for him to communicate with Sas directly through some sort of spiritual ceremony of some sort
  9. There’s not been much comment on Molly’s sparse description of Heaven. She describes it as perfect but says she’ll melt if she says more, which is interesting
  10. Netflix has renewed the show for a 4th season with a twist: Liam Hemsworth will replace Henry Cavill in Season 4 https://deadline.com/2022/10/liam-hemsworth-to-replace-henry-cavill-in-the-witcher-season-4-1235158299/

  16. I’ve seen opinions that the Telegraph is putting out bad information about that or misunderstood some info. The press release only has Disney+ as the distributor. Bad Wolf and BBC Studios are the co-producers
  17. Chibnall said one of the main reasons he chose Ace and Tegan was they were more a modern type companion
  18. The reason they went to these doc shows in the first place was to help keep viewers when there wasn't breaking news going on. They could probably reduce the more fluffy stuff and beef up actual news reporting, but as I said above, it sounds like they want to just cut back, not eliminate altogether, and cut costs
  19. That sucks because I've really enjoyed a lot of their films and doc series. It sounds like they won't stop entirely, but they will reduce the output and try to find ways to do it in a less costly manner. It sounds like they want to do more in-house as apparently 3rd party commissions keep increasing in cost
  20. There's the 60th Anniversary/Series 14 Production News topic you can check on occasion
  21. They already filmed the 3 David Tennant specials starting this past June for a few weeks and there were some casting announcements beforehand because they filmed in public for some of it so they didn't keep it quiet Not just the 14th season, but also the 3 60th anniversary specials before it and the rest of Ncuti's era after that
