  1. I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. It leaves the men characters to shine and that’s how TPTB like it.
  2. All the props to Jane Elliott today, who was fabulous in her scenes with Violet. Can’t wait to see her against ME on Monday. Why would Jagger bring a bottle of champagne to Carly’s office for them to drink it? So unsexy. I do like the fact that they’re both playing each other but Out of Sight, this ain’t. Anna wore a lovely dress, but her need to keep dating Valentin is driving me up the wall. She’s tried again and again to get dirt from him and she always fails miserably. SB’s face when he saw them really showed my exasperated feelings about the situation.
  3. It was so much fun to see Mac and Felicia, Robert, Anna, and Maxie together again - all original and long time actors on the show, so happy to be back together. My eyes keep going to it in every scene and I wish he wore longer sleeves because as popular as the look is (soccer players galore), I don’t get it and the religious character of his tattoo sleeve keeps bringing me back to the actor, away from the character. I’m probably repeating myself but the spiralling out of Finn reminds me of how they got rid of Julian (bringing him down by repeated humiliating events) and I don’t like it, even though I have no use for the character.
  4. I looked for the info but couldn’t see anything confirmed, are Carson and Raven really leaving or is this just another fake out? With the filming delay and the revolving DOOL Door, I can’t keep up.
  5. In addition, between Sydney and Tabyana, Musk bought Twitter, dismantled the moderation group and cut most of the staff to create a cesspool of misogyny and racism, inhabited by paid bots. If a person wants to send out racist crap, or pay bots to do so, it’s the best platform for it. (I still have an account because good people I’ve interacted with for years remain and it’s the best way I have to reach Purolator and other companies.) Edited to correct spelling mistakes.
  6. I’m not part of the concerned about her daughter, and don’t see the point of arguing over our opinions, but I would say that it’s because of Ari’s own words in minimizing sexual assault if it’s to her financial benefit.
  7. Surprisingly, I like having Anna and Jason interact. SB can also use on her the “what can you be thinking?” expressions he usually reserves for Carly. I was also on board with his acting when he gave Anna the ultimatum because it sounded like he was protecting her but the writers had him say “Carly” instead and all was lost. Sigh. Anna protecting Valentin and throwing Hot John to the wolves, is killing me.
  8. We don’t know this about any person we see through a screen, and few in real life. “Decent values” to one, can also be different for another.
  9. This storyline came on so suddenly, no spoilers, but I think it screams “actor needs to be gone for a good bit”. 90 days is such a weird number though.
  10. I can understand about personal financial benefits (I hate it, but understand it). What galls me is the “keep grabbing my p*ssy because you’re paying me enough, no, not *you*, I’m going after *you* because that was the old price to keep my job. And why should I care about anyone else experiencing the grabbing?”. ETA. In thinking about it more, the logic is clear even if it’s not to my liking. It’s disappointing, internalized misogyny or not.
  11. Ouf. There’s a snippet of an interview where Ari Z, who initiate a wrongful dismissal suit against her employer, involving sexual harassment claims, dugs deep on liking a powerful sexual abuser and rapist because things he did as a President were really great and her pocket book was in better shape. I’m finding it profoundly depressing.
  12. I went back and glanced at the history of the Heather character (since the 70s!) and although I loved Robin Mattson and like Alley Mills, that character is irredeemable and should be done. Forever. Done.
  13. They wrote a whole piece about that one tweet. Slow week? 🤔 https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/bryan-craig-teases-possible-general-hospital-return-as-morgan/
  14. Lucky played by Greg Vaughan? I think he’s leaving DOOL…
  15. The writers chose to make Finn a jerk and absolve Jason for him staying away from his kids FOR CARLY, at the same time. Hate it. They succeeded in me moving from “get Finn away from my screen, Fizz is so blah” to being p*ssed about what happens to them. That’s an achievement, I guess.
  16. IIRC MEK was told he would no longer be needed on the show which I think is too bad. He could’ve done a lot more than being linked to Lucy’s shenanigans. It didn’t help that they made his character a douche lawyer by selling out Nina to Michael of all people. I also always thought it was too bad they made Laura his sister because they had nice chemistry. Kevin is fine but it’s a soap and we need more soapiness.
  17. I listened to the Daytime Confidential podcast and I mixed them up. Dan O’Connor was fired and is now on DOOL. Chris was the fired/rehired or never left writer. He apparently was at the awards but didn’t accept because he “had a wardrobe malfunction”.🤔 Ah, that show…
  18. I see these award shoes as a rare opportunity to publicly thank and offer visibility to the very hard working behind the scenes people so actors (who get a lot more limelight) standing in the back of the group if they prefer, is fine with me. I also shallowly want to see everyone and their outfits so I’m torn. 😂
  19. I commented on the Press thread. FV looked exactly the same last year. Maura West was there but we only saw her when CM showed his chest for a skit with the presenters. The head writer being a co-writer who was supposedly fired, then retained in a lower capacity felt weird but I guess he was a HW for the scenes submitted and might be again? Although I thought it was Korte now…
  20. Outside of the Directors Emmy, I don’t think GH deserved any of these awards (neither did Michelle Stafford for Best Actress or Torsten Kaye for Best Actor so I’m an equal opportunity curmudgeon). I can’t access The Bay or Neighbours, but I know the competition for writing and best show from Y&R and B&B, is very weak. I hear DOOL submitted the scenes around Victor’s death (John Aniston) and a lot of great performances happened there but everyone was snubbed. I also saw LW front and centre during the acceptance speech, everyone else was further. FV looked just as weird as he did in December and didn’t mention Johnny’s passing (someone who presented or accepted an award did though, I can’t remember who).
  21. Laura Wright and Steve Burton presenting Best Actress category. LW went on and on about how happy she was that he was back on the show. He was more demure and task oriented. He looked quite good in his all black tux. Felt like they were channeling their characters which was… a choice.
  22. I watched all the day after episodes this week (will watch today’s tomorrow) and enjoyed most of the storylines. I’m just so over “X is not dead” happening every other week. Over it. Over it. Over it.
  23. And accepted by fired/rehired or never fired Dan O’Connor as Head Writer clinches it.
  24. First Emmy goes to Robert Gossett for the second time in a row. Someone wuzrobbed (Wally Kurth? A. Martinez?)
