  1. When I was watching I thought Kevin actually did pick up on what racist lady was getting at. I wondered if he just wasn't sure what to say or felt it wasn't worth saying anything. I'm sure he has had that happen with Randall and gotten the "that's your brother?!" reaction a hundred times before. Although I can also how he might also see it as that woman was just a bitch having a bad day. I've had moments like that when I have been in a group with white people and someone is glaring every time me and my native girlfriends are laughing or we seem to be getting poorer service and had to explain why to the white people with us. I felt for Miguel when Randall walked away from him but I can also see this exactly how the issues with him and the big three started. It felt like he was trying to be Jack not just trying to help. Which I don't think Miguel even realizes he is doing but at the same I can see exactly why it pisses of the Big three. That's what makes this show so interesting is that they keep peeling back the layers.
  2. April, Bailey and Catherine Avery from Grey's Anatomy are all Christians and protrayed positively on ABC. There actually Christians on all Shonda Rhimes show. Frankie and the rest of Hecks on The Middle were all regular church going Christians. Geena has been portrayed positively so far and her religion is just a part of her character. I wonder if DJ's issues are less of the more typical depression/PTSD and more of the told his CO to fuck off one too many times variety. Residual anger and just not being good at following orders could be why he wasn't allowed to reenlist. It would be very Conner of him. I feel like if he was having PTSD or depressive issues we would have seen hints of it last few episodes. Losing your mother would set things like that off. Although I think the writers are just hedging their bets to see how much rust Michael Fishman is capable of shaking off
  3. I also know in some cities firetrucks travel with ambulances essentially as back up. It safer that way for everyone it's hard for a two person ambulance credit to do crowd control or treat multiple victims. There is also the fact that people will try to rob ambulances so having more people around discourages that too. Plus if the fire crew is needed then they are already there.
  4. I wonder if it's what Roseanne Barr's grandkids call her. She did tend to bring her home life to work.
  5. What didn't I love about this episode? Hen is awesome. I liked that Michael was hanging out with Hen and that their kids have playdates. It's something shows forget sometimes when they play the "cast as family" angle, that it means their actual families should know each and have their own relationships. I love that Hen walked away but came back. I love that Athena caught the bad guy because of his burns. I even liked Maddie's story. The only con was not enough Bobby and Athena.
  6. I don't think that's true. Darla has been in jail and strung out most of Blue's life for one. Ralph Angel for all his faults has at least been there for Blue. Also as long as his name is on the birth certificate Ralph Angel is Blue's father legally. St Joe is the only home Blue has ever known. Aunt Vi's speech about finding Blue in a shed when he was in Darla's care would go over like a lead balloon in family court. All of this would count in Ralph Angel's favor in court. At best Darla might get partial custody but I could see a judge putting her on supervised visitation given her history if she screws up in court.
  7. As a battered wife though her husband would have kept her isolated its a pretty standard part of the abuse. So she might not have a lot of pre Seattle friends left. I do think Linc ties into that part of her backstory though. The he new her on medical school. Didn't he saw where he graduated from in the premiere?
  8. There is a difference between being sociopathic and simply self involved. I don't see any sociopathic tendencies in Zoe she is a very emotional person. Not every selfish person is a sociopath. Also we have seen Zoe care about something important to Kevin when she insisted on showing up for his birthday. I do think she is somewhat selfish but so is Kevin.
  9. Yeah I assumed he was Autistic especially with the hiding that's something that kids on the spectrum do for comfort. I loved Alex tonight he went a little rogue but he got the job done. He's not OCD Bailey or calm and cool Richard. Or even a blustery Owen. He is Alex and he is going to do everything he can for his patient even if he doesn't play by the rules. I'm amazed Maggie lasted this long. Also technically telling Mere could be considered a consult. At least until Amelia and or Owen overhears them talking about it. I'm actually looking forward to seeing Andrew/Mere. I always assumed they hired him with a romance with Mere in mind. He is a really good guy Mere deserves that. Even if its just a stepping stone on her journey.
  10. Especially considering since her mother conceived natural fraternal triplets. That usually mean there is some kind of genetic pre-disposition to having multiples anyway.
  11. I don't think she sociopathic, I just think she (like a lot of indie film types) takes dim view on Hollywood glam. She doesn't want to get sucked in to being Kevin Pearson's Girlfriend and not being her own person. (Its a nice parallel to Rebecca actually) Which is really easy to do when dating a movie star. I think she likes Kevin a lot but doesn't like what he does that much. Its an interesting conflict for them going forward.
  12. This show feels like its trying to be The resident but is lacking in a likeable supporting cast. Lead doc isn't bad but he has way too much plot piled on him. I liked the black cardio surgeon but he just feels like another Benton, Pratt, Burke and many other uptight black male doctors before him. I might give it another episode if I'm bored but I don't see this lasting the season as is.
  13. From what I remember when they went to his office he runs some kind of IT or special effects company.
  14. I was thinking it might tie in to Randall's mother's story. As Franco's sister (I'm assuming) is running out the door their mother yell's "Don't get pregnant". Which is exactly the kind of subtle foreshadowing this show likes. Or it could be Harris or his family is connected to Randall's mother in some way.
  15. I always had Adora down as Narcissistic personality disorder myself rather than sociopathic. I suspect thats Amma to actually. Sociopaths don't usually care about being "Mama's good girl". Its part of why I think she can be saved. The fact that she cares what people think means she still has feelings. She also has Camille who loves her which is something most psychopaths don't have going for them. Also in regards to sociopaths in general yes there is a genetic aspect to it and Amma certainly could have have gotten that from Adora but its not as inheritable as something like bipolar. You don't become a sociopath without the environmental aspect and the genetic predisposition. My point was that a parent being a sociopath doesn't mean you will be one much like having an alcoholic parent doesn't means you will be one. Its also worth pointing out that there are sociopaths who are functional members of society. Its a mental illness and while it isn't curable it is treatable.
  16. Children actually are not generally diagnosed as sociopaths. The human brain doesn't really set until around age 26 and so the DSM strongly discourages diagnosis before that point. Its generally thought that because thier minds are still malleable with enough treatment they can be somewhat normalised. Amma would be considered a child exhibiting psychopathic traits and given lots of therapy. Its also worth noting that Amma new to hide what she did which means she knew what she did was wrong. Most sociopaths don't really understand that. They usually think everyone would run around strangling people they're just to stupid or scared to do it. Sociopathy also isn't really inheritable. Its more like diabetes you can inherit certain traits that make it more likely to get but its not guaranteed. Environment plays a bigger role in the development of a sociopath which Amma has in spades. There's actually some research that suggests sociopathy and psychopathy are what happens when kids experience PTSD and trauma from an early age for an extended period of time.
  17. I actually thought she was trying to protect Amma by deflecting Adora's attention away from her.
  18. I wonder if that actually was what happened and Adora had a partner. My money would be on Anne's father (because Adora has been so protective of him) or the history teacher because he's a raping asshole. They came together because Adora saw they are a like and possibly even groomed him.
  19. Yeah that's why I rolled my eyes a lot during this episode. In reality a shooting like that in Sussex(a pretty quiet part if the country) would have triggered a massive country wide response. Transportation would be shut down the media would be showing the car on every channel for days. Not to mention how they would get all those weapons into a country with some of the tightest gun control on the planet.
  20. I still think it was Marco who hired Mia to kill Baz. Smurf had set up Baz to get taken out by Pope when she told him about what Pope did to his wife.
  21. I fully expect Netflix to pick this up. Its trending on their app almost constantly. It fits better with their brand than the Expanse (I almost wonder if that might be part of why they passed on it. The Expanse was much more expensive too). Its still a critical hit which Netflix needs right now.
  22. The radar station was miles from where the attacks were happening and the station was focused on the beach,. The team had a fair amount of time to plan a strike. In fact rushing in without a plan would have been suicidal in that case. It would have helped if they had been able to show how well defended the station was but I'm guessing that was a budget issue more than anything else. You can review the actual mission carried out by the SOE for the most part on Wikipedia though. The Canadian documents regarding the mission have all been declassified. The team really didn't have a prayer of taking the station without explosives or back up. In fact in real life none of the agents involved made it off the beach. Having read about the mission the show was actually fairly accurate with the exception of the team being able to escape. Gestapo agents and German officers changed sides throughout the war for a number of reasons. Some for political reason others for more personal ones. There were even some who were just plain bribed. There were 77000 Germans executed by the Gestapo for various acts of resistance throughout the war and thousands more sent to prison camps. Most were not targeted by the SOE and were part of the German resistance movements or committed their own acts of defiance. Its hard to say if a team flipped a Gestapo agent at this point of the war specifically, since the British SOE files are still classified. It has been said though that the Casablanca Conference was partly a cover for German resistance to meet with the Allies and that was only about six months later. So its likely there was some contact between the SOE and Nazi officers sympathetic to the Allies at that time.
  23. I actually think Bram may have put him and Gracie in a position to be thrown together with Snyder again. Which is interesting because weirdly I can see Gracie being the reason he finally flips on the IGA. Snyder even seemed to give a damn about Bram even if the feeling definitely isn't mutual.
  24. I wonder if Mexico was the destination. Mexican banks might not see a problem with legal pot money. I think the woman in house in the desert were up to shady shit. Hell if they were near the border white boys with bags of money would immediately make me think drug runners or human traffickers. I do like that they didn't hurt her. Its shows that "We don't hurt people" isn't just lip service.
  25. Its likely not every person flagged by the algorithm can survive the process. Human biology being as varied as it is some probably would have a genetic variation or biological quirk that makes them unsuitable for whatever process the outliers endure. Or it may be these two were on the lower end of end of expectations for outliers (weaker or slower than most or something like that) so were veiwed as easy canon fodder.
