  1. The discussion of "fat girl's socks" reminds me of the time on Friends when Ross was making a list of pros and cons between Rachel and the other girl and one of Rachel's cons was "she has thick ankles". Never mind the other horrible stuff that was on the list... it seems that when she saw the list, "thick ankles" was the thing that most offended her. So I guess maybe talking about a "fat girl's socks" is supposed to be some kind of intense insult. I am glad that other people are finding them old looking, from the start I thought they were about 45 and was very surprised to see they are both supposedly 37. I think they look really bad for their age. Too much time spent in the tanning booth, too much steroids (wouldn't be surprised if she's taken some as well, she was Mrs. Galaxy), too much cosmetic surgery (she's a cosmetic dentist, it would stand that she is in favour of procedures). Personally, I don't really get why they are such a slave to their own vanity. He's an orthodontist, it's not like he needs the overbulked body and blindingly white straight teeth (probably a lot of caps/crowns involved) to get patients. As for her? Seems like a very vain and shallow person. I don't get at all why she was supposedly so concerned about the children when she seems so concerned about the superficial.
  2. Unless it's a final two and he and Jaclyn are the final two. Rob and Amber were a couple by the time of the live finale, and he proposed and it didn't matter who won.
  3. Why is Beady Eyes still there with Hope? Yes, he found Hope and took her to the hospital. But once Wyatt showed up, he should have left immediately. Because, you know, Wyatt's her husband. But nooooooo, Beady has to be there because he's "concerned" about Hope. Of course he's not just biding his time hoping that Hope will dump Wyatt now that there is no more baby. When that doctor asked him if he was the husband or the baby's father and he just sits there and stammers.... ugh. Why couldn't he just say he is Hope's brother-in-law?
  4. Are we going to be seeing more super powered heroes and villains on this show now? That's the show I always wanted to see, a better done version of Mutant X, Misfits of Science, and all those other failed superhero live action shows, and set in the Marvel Universe. Because if they don't add any more supervillains (Blizzard, Deathlok and the darkforce guy with the cello player... Blackout?) notwithstanding, and it's just SHIELD v. Hydra, well, Skye/Daisy could easily take them out. I wonder if Raina turned into some version of Tigra or one of the other Cat People.
  5. I'm trying to figure out Deacon's motivation. Why is even still here? Is he just biding his time waiting for Brooke to get back from wherever she is so he can propose to her? I gagged yesterday when he was talking to Wyatt and telling him that Wyatt doesn't understand the things a parent will do for their child, and that when Wyatt and Hope have their baby that he will understand. I had to rewind to make sure I heard him right. Deacon, absentee loser sperm donor, telling Wyatt about what it's like to be a good parent? The father who wasn't around for 16 years and is now father of the year? The father who deliberately sabotaged his own daughter's wedding in Italy. Yeah. He's the perfect person to be giving parenting advice. I don't understand why Wyatt didn't respond to that. Deacon is so gross. The actor has really porked out, he's like Thorne in putting on the pounds. And at 50 years old, isn't he a bit too old to have that floppy hairstyle? I fear that they are rehabilitating him to be one of Bell A's most outstanding citizens? Why? He was always a con man.
  6. It seems that 95% of the montages involve Hope. Hope with Liam on the beach. Hope and Liam laughing. Hope and Wyatt and his trailer. Hope in Paris in the park, getting stood up. We just saw the Hope and Wyatt jumping into the ocean clip for what, the 50th time now? We used to have a Liam and Steffy montage on a near daily basis. But once Jacqueline Wood quit, they stopped. So hopefully once Kim Matula exits, even if they recast, it's buh-bye to all that "wonderful" Hope and Liam and Hope and Wyatt footage for the montages. Bradley must be crying right now. But you know what this means. More and more and MORE of Rick and Maya on that median strip on Rodeo Drive! More Rick and Maya on the couch!
  7. I think anyone can change their name for pretty much any reason. It's how the basketball player Ron Artest became Metta World Peace. And didn't some joke candidate who was running for office legally change his name to "None of the Above"? In addition to the copious montages... is it me, or is the stock L.A. aerial footage increasing in length? Yesterday we were treated to extended shots of.... a freeway. Seriously, it's a 22 minute show. I appreciate seeing the exteriors of the buildings or houses (Brooke's House, Forrester, Quinn's factory) to set the scene. But the random shots of a freeway or a building downtown.... so much filler. Between the montages and the stock footage Bradley probably only needs to write a 17 minute show, and he's apparently having trouble doing that.
  8. Well, it's happened three times now. Liam was Liam Cooper (Cooper was his mom's name) and they changed his name almost as soon as the paternity results came in to William Spencer III. Marcus was Marcus Walton (Walton being his adoptive parents' name) and he was adopted by Eric Forrester and promptly became Marcus Forrester. Never talked about the Waltons ever again, and never considered changing his name to Marcus Barber once his birth father Justin came back into the picture. He called Eric "Dad" and Justin "Pops" and pretended like he had never heard of these Walton people. And now Wyatt has become Wyatt Spencer. No doubt a large part of that was because that's what Quinn wanted, but still.
  9. Yes, Hope is supposed to be world famous, to the point where she gets chased by papparazzi whenever the show remembers that she's supposed to be this irresistible celebrity. I agree that I thought the doctor was in character, it was hilarious to me how she just said "there's no heartbeat, I'm sorry" and then she and her staff just turn around and walk out with nary a further word. I don't think pregnant celebrities get special treatment at hospitals unless they make their own arrangements. Some years back a friend of mine was a medical resident in OB. A former Tiger Beat type teen idol on some show from the 1980s came in with his wife who was in labour. He started barking out instructions, saying he wanted a security guard posted at either end of the hall and one outside the room. The staff just looked at him blankly and he did the old "do you know who I am" thing. He was told to go hire his own security guards. As for Hope, I suppose this was one of the times where the show decided that she's not as famous as she supposedly is. I too, am fairly certain, that he's now Wyatt Spencer, even though he's still listed as Fuller in the credits.
  10. The doctor was an older Asian woman. Because everyone knows that the extra on soap operas are always Asian for anything medical related, and black for anything law enforcement or courtroom related. Rolls eyes. It's a bit ridiculous to me that this is Los Angeles, and there has not been one regular Asian character on this show since Lindsay Price maybe 10 years or so ago. And I know there's almost no chance this show would actually cast an Asian male. The only regular Asian male characters on soap operas that I know of were Keemo Abbott and Ji Min Kim on Y&R, and they didn't last very long at all. I'm assuming that once Kim Matula departs, Hope goes off canvas to rest or whatever. Where does that leave Wyatt and Quinn and Deacon? Their entire life on this show revolves around Hope. Or Liam? Maybe they all disappear.
  11. So they are not even trying to be subtle about it anymore, are they. "Shocking tribal council" and "biggest blindside". That can only mean that either 1) Jaclyn flips on Jon and Jon is voted out, or 2) Missy and Baylor flip on Natalie and Natalie is voted out.
  12. The last two winners, Tyson and Tony, engineered the boots of many of the jury members. They both still won. They were the best players. And it helped that they were up there with followers. Tyson had his two alliance members. Gervase who was seen as a complete follower. Monica who had the opportunity to make moves but in the end just followed along. Tony was up there with Woo, a dim bulb who was nothing but Tony's lap dog the entire game. I see Natalie beating everyone. Jon beats everyone except Natalie. Keith can beat everyone except Nat and Jon. Jaclyn beats only Missy and Baylor but that's only because those two are so disliked. And if it were a Missy/Baylor final, they don't need to vote because Missy would just give it to Baylor.
  13. Everyone on the show acts like they make candy. They are PhD students in Food Science at Madison. Essentially, they are analytical chemists. Per the CBS website, one of them does research on ice cream. The other does research on sugar free sweeteners in candy. I guess one of them could be a "Candy Girl" but the other one isn't. It's Brooke and Robbie that seem to have started the "Candy Girls" name that even Phil has now picked up on. But I imagine Brooke and Robbie wouldn't have started calling them that if they hadn't to some extent self-described themselves that way.
  14. He is an orthodontist. Someone who puts braces on people. I don't think he is an oral surgeon, I'm not sure if there are additional requirements for that. He certainly doesn't seem shy about tooting his own horn, so... Here is his webpage: http://www.ramanortho.com/staff.html. It doesn't say anything at all about him graduating from medical school. If he had done so, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind he would put it on his bio. If he had attended any bit of med school at all as a requirement for his dental specialty, I have no doubt he would put it in his bio. "Dr. Raman also received training at the University of South Carolina Medical School." Or something like that. Misti's bio for her own practice (cosmetic dentistry) is strange. I guess she is in the area of dentistry that is all about vanity, so maybe it is appropriate for her to tout that she was Mrs. Galaxy and was on the Amazing Race.
  15. Once the women's alliance fell apart, I think she was smart to remain in the background. She appeared to be a physical threat amongst the women, she did well on that push each other off the floating raft challenge (where Baylor got hit in the face) and she could have been perceived as a threat. But she sat back and let them pick off others who were more outspoken. While I agree that it'd be difficult for a couple to make a final 2 or final 3, it's happened before (Rob and Amber). I don't think she "needs" to make a move on Jon, and if she does, I would hope she would consult with him and they make a decision about who has a better chance in the final vote. Frankly, I think Jon has a better chance. He might be disliked by a few but at least he has played his game and done well in challenges. Even if Jaclyn joined with others and voted out Jon, I highly doubt it would be considered "her" move. It'd be considered Natalie's and Jaclyn would get no credit for it. Unfortunately for her, I don't think anyone will ever view her as anything except Jon's second vote.
  16. He might be a good self-motivating competitor, but some of the things he says and does grate on me to no end. The thing with the thumb in particular, and the "five first place finishes" and the "team dominant" talk. I don't blame them for this. Just because previous races only had two U Turns doesn't necessarily mean there couldn't be another. It would seem a bit unfair with only four teams left, but this Save thing was new this season, so nothing can be assumed. Also, it could be just a simple reason of staying on Amy and Maya's good side. If there was ever a situation where Maya could help them (telling them about a better flight, giving them directions, etc) it's better that she not dislike them. Frankly, I thought Maya was extremely naive for believing Brooke's story that "we thought you had already looked there". Brooke and Robbie had just found their clue, Maya point blank asked them if it was there, and Brooke said no. How could she possibly have thought Maya had already looked there? That wasn't what Maya had even asked.
  17. For all the hype, I was disappointed by the "infamous switchback". Colon and Crasstie are one of my all my most disliked teams. I wanted to see more of his spoiled behaviour, and useless Crasstie doing nothing. Brooke and Robbie were very impressive during the fish task. None of the other three teams would have been able to do this as quickly as they did. The scientists don't have the muscle, Misty doesn't have the muscle, and Bethany, well... That said, I do think they made a fatal mistake in choosing the biggest field to plow. Very interesting setup, I suppose the point was to punish the 4th place team by leaving them the biggest field to search. Instead, the team that arrived first stupidly chose it. By finishing last, they may have doomed themselves on the next leg depending on how long their speed bump takes. For some reason, it never occurred to me that Misty and Jim had kids. Granted, they are only 37 (I had thought they look about 45) so it seems natural they would have young children. But the show hit us over the head with it. Misty and her odd "I feel so bad for these poor brown people, it makes me feel SO LUCKY to be white and rich and American" and then Jim with his "I put together lots of things for my kids". These two seem so extremely vain (Jim with the steroid induced muscles, Misty with her perfect makeup and hair, both with the ridiculously straight and white teeth), I just can't imagine them taking the time to take care of people other than themselves, let alone helpless children. Was there a Roadblock that got edited out, or did this Switchback task replace it? Seems odd to me, this season seems to have had less Roadblocks, earlier in the season we were speculating it was Bethany-related.
  18. What was the point of the guy dying his hair to try and disguise himself? He looked exactly the same, but with different coloured hair. Supposedly he was a natural blonde (something that per Lucas most women would kill to have) but he dyed his hair dark brown. In the flashbacks, he looked like a guy with naturally brown hair who had a bad blonde dye job. When he was on the autopsy table, the hair on his leg was just as dark brown as the supposedly dyed dark brown hair on his head. They should have just done away with the dyed hair bit. If the girl was so enamoured of marrying into the British aristocracy, and if the father was so keen on the idea of his daughter marrying a British aristocrat, wouldn't at least one of them have googled the guy to see what his family was like? Their family seat was supposedly this huge castle in Devonshire. Wouldn't one of them have googled the place and seen that it was not occupied by the Cavendish family?
  19. Nat did not vote out Jaclyn because she is preternaturally fixated with the idea of blindsiding Jon. She wants badly to blindside him just as he blindsided Jeremy, so he knows what it feels like. If she got Jaclyn out then he'd be on the alert and it wouldn't be as satisfying to her because if she got him out he would know it was coming. Poor strategy on her part. At this point she is so obsessed with making it a blindside that she didn't make the better move. She is too emotional about the fact that it has to be a blindside. She wants payback. But she seems to overlook the fact that Missy and Baylor participated in the Jeremy blindside.
  20. Baylor has no reason to want to vote out her mom. Unlike Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, Baylor isn't in any danger. Her alliance is firmly in control, and her suballiance doesn't have any issues apart from Missy's loyalty to Jon. Ciera was in a precarious position, she was in the minority and was trying to prove to the others that she could be loyal. In the end, she voted out her mom and lost anyways. Is there any confirmation of whether it will be final 2 or final 3? I only started re-watching Survivor with the first Blood v Water, so I have no idea if jury numbers mean anything. Would they possibly have 3 finalists and 8 jury members? Tyson's win had 3 finalists but I can't remember the number of jurors. If it's final 3 and it's a couple (Missy/Baylor or Jon/Jaclyn) and anybody, I tend to think that the "anybody" would win. But they can't count on that. Natalie is counting on taking Missy and Baylor to the end because she thinks it will be an easy win for her, and she's probably right. But if they got to final 3 and there was one more boot, Missy/Baylor would each have a shot at booting Natalie.
  21. Natalie had the discussion with Baylor where she said she was going to vote out Alec instead. We saw Baylor basically saying "why Alec, I wish you would consider keeping Alec, we can easily get him to vote with us". Baylor was designated to vote for Alec. She could have switched her vote to Keith but I guess she didn't want to upset Natalie. People are saying that Jon has this big ego power trip going, but Natalie's is just as big. Somehow she has got it in her head that she can engineer boots when she wants. Baylor is a follower. It seems Baylor is more loyal to Natalie than Missy, because she didn't tell Missy that Natalie was going to change her vote. She also hadn't told Missy about Natalie's idol. Natalie made a move just to shock Jon and make him feel less comfortable, but I think it was a poor decision. She did it just to let everyone know who is calling the shots.
  22. When Natalie, Jon and Jaclyn were on the big bed, did Jon say that "if" he won the money he'd move to Vegas and go to sommelier school? Or did he say he was already going to do it. I heard Natalie say in her TH that Jon wants the money to go to sommelier school and she was kind of dismissive about it. Well, it appears that he actually did move to Vegas and is going to sommelier school. Not sure what to make of that.
  23. Does anyone follow the comics? I haven't read comics in a long time, but there was a recent storyarc called "The Worthy" where there were some heroes and villains who find these mystical hammers. Touching them transforms them into these possessed beings called the Worthy. What happened to Mack seemed very much like that. Especially after I believe Raina mentioned something about being "worthy" to Skye. I don't think Mack is dead either. I didn't care for the actress at first, but she has grown on me. I like the idea of Mockingbird. Her ex, Hunter, is English, not Australian. Did anyone else wonder why Agent 33 hasn't fixed her face? Did it get stuck like that? Why doesn't she put something over it or use makeup or a scarf or hood or something. Pretty hard to be inconspicuous looking like that.
  24. I can understand why Natalie says that... she is trying to go final three with Baylor and Missy. Really though, it's her idol that she will use for the benefit of her alliance. The only reason why she had to say that "they" found it is because Baylor was helping her look. She sent Keith (?) to go get water so that she could look for the idol. But Baylor was there too so she had to have her help look. And it was Baylor's original clue from Exile that she shared with Natalie. I found it interesting that as Natalie was squealing and digging it up that Baylor tried grabbing at it and Natalie pulled it away. I'm interested in what happens between Baylor and Missy. Baylor seems very attached to both her mom and Natalie. But Missy is attached to Jon. The moment Natalie decides its time to get rid of Jon will be very telling. I'm assuming the injury thing with Missy next week is a red herring.
  25. I was wondering about the third Idol too. Keith, Jon and Natalie all had one. Keith and Jon both used theirs. One gets re-hidden on Exile. Jon finds it. Reed gets voted out. Next round, Alec goes to Exile and Alec gets voted out. Shouldn't the other played Idol have been re-hidden, at least during the round Alec got voted out? We didn't see Alec on Exile at all, so not even sure if he got the same clue Jon did or a new clue. Odd.
