  1. While I've always liked Eileen Davidson, it's disappointing to me that in a year when voters finally appear to have decided enough is enough for Chipmunk Cheeks, that Katherine Kelly Lang still can't win. I hope one of these days she gets recognised. And while I don't think Kim Matula and Lindsey Godfrey are master thespians, I can't believe they both got beat by the twit who plays Summer on Y&R, as that girl is possibly one of the worst actresses ever to appear on the show. Here is a particularly appealing red carpet photo of Windsor Harmon. Well, appealing if you are into cadavers. 1) Hasn't the whole blonde frosted hair on guys fad passed? and 2) When you're 50 years old, shouldn't it have passed for you ages ago? http://www.trbimg.com/img-53a765c9/turbine/la-et-daytime-emmy-awards-2014-20140622-008/500
  2. While I agree with you that the mixing and matching annoys me to some degree (most notably in the case of Havok, who we are supposed to believe was a teen in 1973 which makes him way older than Cyclops), I don't necessarily think that Rogue and Bobby are supposed to be teens. Anna Pacquin is 31 years old, she's long removed from her days as the 12 year old kid from "The Piano". I'm not sure how old the characters in the comics are supposed to be anymore, but I always thought of Scott, Jean, Hank and Warren as around 30. Bobby I thought of as several years younger. Rogue was about 5 years younger or maybe early 20s. Storm is early to mid 30s, and Logan of course is ageless. James Marsden is actually 40 now. I think if there was a miscast, it was that he is too young or Famke Janssen is too old.
  3. I enjoyed the movie a lot, even if much of it doesn't make sense. Magneto decides to work with Charles to prevent Mystique's death. Since Mystique's death led to the acceleration of the Sentinel programme, giving them that adaptive ability, which leads to the death of all the X-Men in the future, including Maggy. Then for some reason he has a change of heart and decides he wants to kill her anyways? As much as I like Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Lawrence, this movie was way overrun with them. It was like they were the two main characters, with a side helping of Maggy. X-Men should be an ensemble. I'm curious as to why they made Jackman shave or trim his chest... since Wolverine in any continuity would never do that. I liked Quicksilver but I didn't like his look. Those goggles were just awful. I liked the new characters, especially Blink. She was way cool. I don't particularly care for Warpath or Bishop but it was nice to see some more diversity. Who were the two mutants at the army prison besides Havok and Toad and why were those two particularly chosen? One is labelled by IMDB as Ink. The other is just "Mutant Soldier". I wish Storm had a bigger role. I know Halle Berry was pregnant, but at some point in some future X-Men movie, could she please have a bigger role? Halle Berry was "Catwoman" in the standalone movie, which many have tried to forget about, but it still counts.
  4. Ridge looks like he has brain damage or something. So strange. No one asks him where he's been, how he survived the fall, where'd he get those angelic white clothes, where he's been staying. Disappointed that the episode didn't end with "how's Mom" or "take me home to my wife, I want to see Taylor, Phoebe, Steffy and Thomas". Or better yet, "What happened to my hair and my face? I used to have a mullet, a can of black dye, and ginsu cheekbones." And that white outfit highlights even more how fat this man is by soap standards. He looked like a barrel.
  5. She seems to have some kind of official administrative assistant type role although I'm not sure what her actual title is. She does seem to have some actual responsibilities. An episode or two ago, when Mark confronted her in the hallway and semi-apologised about not telling her about Jack, she excused herself and said she had to make some calls or something like that. But I'm not sure why a daughter acting as First Lady for her widowed father would be considered "sick". It's happened more than a number of times in history. Thomas Jefferson was widowed when he became President; his daughter acted as First Lady. Andrew Jackson's daughter-in-law acted as his First Lady. I think there are several other examples, for example, when the President's wife died while he was in office and the daughter took over, but those are probably the best-known ones. I paused and slo-mo'ed several times... from the emo swept over hair and the green shirt it certainly looks like him, but I could be wrong.
  6. I was thoroughly bored by this episode. The hour was pretty much filler. The only thing that advanced the plot was Kate getting information out of Simone. Up until the final minute, the entire thing was a snoozefest. Let's see. Jordan? Don't care. Russian guy knowing what he has on Mark? Don't care. Mark being insecure about his penis size compared to Jack's? Don't care. Navarro? Don't care. Adrian? Don't care. Chloe and Adrian's relationship? Don't care. I don't particular see the absence of a silent clock as meaning anything one way or the other. Frankly, even though he was the President, even if he is indeed dead, I don't think Heller is particularly deserving of a silent clock. This is a show seen through the eyes of Jack, and Heller hasn't exactly been a friend to Jack. I am surprised that the previews completely spoil the fact that Ian buys the farm. At least give us some degree of suspense.
  7. There was a policeman just outside Yasmin's door. Kate had to show her credentials before going in to talk to her the first time. When Kate came back and asked where Yasmin was, it appeared she was unguarded, but I chalk that up to the panic/confusion in the wake of the evacuation order and the fire alarm that Kate pulled. But I agree, as soon as that order was issued, an officer should have grabbed Yasmin. When Margot issued the kill order on Simone, Ian seemed aghast. But then he seemed gleeful when he thought he killed her. Or was he just proud of himself for making that tough shot?
  8. I loved hearing one of the classic 24 lines, "We are running out of time". Although this time it was said very calmly and not in the usual urgent shouted manner. Great episode. Although hardly any Chloe. And sorry, but I can't bring myself to care an ounce about Jordan. Don't know what Navarro is up to, and I don't really care. It takes away from Jack.
  9. I missed the appetizer part of the Cancer/Carbon Monoxide battle, I came in during the entree round. What was the backstory behind the carbon monoxide poisoning, how did she get it? Was it responsible for that weird grey streak dye thing in her hair? Apparently there are some rules on getting cut? They have to stop work until someone bandages it? I'm assuming she didn't get any kind of time credit. Hated that she partly blamed the cut for her poor looking dish. I think she said if she hadn't gotten cut she could have had more time to make something better. Well if she hadn't been so careless she wouldn't have gotten cut. I haven't watched Chopped in a long time, when did they start making this show into a sob story battle? I didn't like the Asian guy solely because he kept talking about how he needed the money because he got cancer and lost his sense of taste etc. Maneet looked like she was about to cry in sympathy. Chopped used to be one of the few reality shows that was purely about presenting the best product without any of that social/interactive crap. It was about seeing how chefs coped with the strange ingredients in the baskets and how good they were at being creative and thinking spontaneously. Now it seems this show has added this element of "and presents the best sob story". I'm not liking it.
  10. Count me in as another who loves Clue. I have seen it close to 100 times and it never gets old. I can quote every line of it. I read about some remake in the works. Was curious if it was going to be a completely new story, would it still be a comedy, would the only thing in common be the board game it is based on, etc. Then I read it got shelved and was disappointed. I also was very disappointed that there wasn't some kind of 25th anniversary DVD with special features, etc. Sad that some of the actors have now passed.
  11. I'm a little lost on how MI-5 was involved. Is it because Jo Portman told the Prime Minister that Heller has Alzheimer's, so they didn't trust the operation? Then they did surveillance on Jack and saw Kate's body in the trunk and thought he was betraying the U.S.? So they thought they would come in and save the day? MI-5 on "MI-5" was nowhere near this inept.
  12. I'm not understanding how Bill knew for certain that the sudden bank was going to eject Ridge from the helicopter. What if Ridge had also buckled up? Are we to believe that the shoulder belt on the outside seat was broken? What if Ridge had climbed in first because it would be easier to help Brooke in once he was inside, and she had ended up on the outside? And why wasn't Ridge buckled? He sat down, the helicopter certainly took some time to get up in the air. Meanwhile he's just sitting there with one hand on the strap. Such bad acting, the actor clearly and deliberately threw his arm away from the strap. The fall was hilarious. The look, the body position, everything about it. I don't agree, why shouldn't Katie have been the first one called? Despite the situation and the disagreement between Brooke and Katie, Katie is Ridge's fiance. I absolutely thought she should have been called first. And then Eric. Massimo doesn't deserve a call, he hasn't bothered to call or write Ridge or inquire about any of his grandkids in about 5 years. Taylor??? She moved on with Thorne. Someone else can tell her. If she was really still into him, she would have resurfaced as soon as Ridge dumped Brooke.
  13. I can't get over the stupidity of Brooke willingly going off with Ridge. I get that he was holding her hand/wrist, but if she didn't want to go, then she could have SAT DOWN. Instead, she willingly allowed him to take her away. So stupid. Maybe they are going to recast Ridge and get rid of Greaseball. Not that I want Ronnnnnnnn Mossssssss back, I loathed him and his mullet. But he was comedy gold. I love posting this clip, it never gets old. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jEsshy26N4 There's nothing remotely entertaining about Greaseball.
  14. I don't think Margot's message was broadcast to the general public. It just went to the intelligence community and Open Cell hacked in so they could watch. If it had gone to the public, there would be mass hysteria as everyone and his sister's dog attempted to leave London. Kudos to those of you who suggested Navarro as the mole. I don't fully get it though, he's the station chief. Apparently Kate's husband got too close so he planted evidence to disgrace him. But why? If they even try to insist that he's Al-Harazi's brother, that is way too unbelievable. There's no way they could get me to believe a Hispanic guy is actually Middle Eastern. Then again, I thought the Russian whoever he was looked Indian. Felt really bad for Farrah and her daughter. Why couldn't Simone have just told them to leave town right away? She clearly didn't want to kill her. I hope the daughter survived. So happy that the sensationally hot Miranda Raison finally got to speak. Her voice and accent are just as amazing as I remember them being on MI-5. I'd love for her to have a bigger role. I'm curious as to why Michelle Fairley is listed as a guest star. Some seasons I thought the baddie is listed as a regular. I hope this doesn't mean she has a short lifespan, although at this point there are only 6 episodes left. I also just recognised the guy who plays Simone's brother is the actor who played the resentful brother on "The Pillars of the Earth". I loved the ridiculous of the technobabble exchange between Navarro and Jordan. Something about a Phoenix Rebirth? I thought Kate and the CIA had a perimeter in the episode when Jack went to the apartment complex looking for the guy that got killed by Simone. Or maybe I am making it up.
  15. I truly don't get the Ridge storyline. He dumped Brooke but has decided that he can still control her life? What part of that makes sense? Hopping on a plane to go halfway around the world to "bring Brooke home"? Isn't that a little extreme? How about CALLING her first? "She's a Forrester." Uhhh.... not since he dumped her again for the 50th time. If Brooke had any resolve, she's going to tell him he wasted his time and send him packing. Of course, she's going to do that teary squint and be all touched that he flew all this way and probably run off into the desert with him. I also don't understand this... at the end of yesterday's show, she was just about to walk down the "aisle" on the beach. He's in his jet making its landing approach. Is he going to spy the wedding from the plane and demand the plane land on the beach? Parachute out the door? To rescue his Logan? Pffffftttt.
  16. I think Jordan is an obvious mole candidate, he's so obvious that it's too obvious. I'd be surprised if Steve were the mole. In Season 1, I firmly believe that Nina ended up being the mole because they were making things up on the fly as they went along. She had been way too helpful in the investigation and actually did things which advanced it towards her reveal, so that made zero sense. After 8 seasons, and especially since this is a shortened day, I would hope that they would have thought things out more and not make Steve the mole. I think Steve went on the raid simply because it's Benjamin Bratt, and he's a semi-known "name", and they wanted to give him more to do. I would be happy if there was no mole. There doesn't always have to be a mole. Besides, isn't the mole-like figure already indicated as the creepy British guy, Chloe's boyfriend? He purposely set Jack up to be caught.
  17. Ironically, I have been noticing Miranda Raison's name in the guest star credits. She of course is best known as the beautiful agent Jo Portman from the British series Spooks (known as MI-5 in the U.S.). The past few episodes I tried in vain to identify her, and last episode, I think I finally noticed her. She seems to be something of an aide to the British Prime Minister, but I don't recall her speaking at all. There is a weird vibe between Kate and Jordan, he seems to be infatuated with her, so I agree it is likely that he could be a mole. I said this over on another board, but I was surprised at the quick and light 10 second patdown of Jack that determined the flight doohickey wasn't on him. What if it was in his shoe or his underwear? The bad guy from Season 2 stripped him naked and forced him to eat something that made him vomit up the contents of his stomach, in an effort to find a missing microchip. And then to not even ask further questions about where the thing was, or to search the room? Poor.
