I do wish more awards had been given out on the show, but the ceremony was already long enough. i know that every year they have to make choices what awards to show beyond "the big ones." the problem with the AI/Beatles song is that it was such a gimme. Who wasn't going to give the award to the Beatles? It just wasn't fair to the other nominees. tbh, i'm almost surprised the Beatles didn't win the other award in which they were nominated. I'm not a Rolling Stones fan, so i also thought that award was ill suited.

I enjoyed all the performances, many by artists I was not familiar with before. Shakira is amazing.

yeah, that is a big concern. there's so much stuff being signed via executive order or just being done that the dems (the only opposition, the gop sure isn't doing anything but enjoying watching everything get broken) can only do so much and its terrifying what might slip through the cracks and hurt people before an injunction is filed.

Ep 3 - I think Peggy Noonan was nothing but an echo chamber for Bill, not much substance. The panel is underestimating Elon. He’s more dangerous than they give him credit for. And they still don’t seem to get that just because trump doesn’t have a filter that doesn’t make him a good president, just an unfiltered idiot who doesn’t take the time to be a decent person. I do agree that Gen Z doesn’t realize that dictators are bad ideas . They soon will. was Bill trying to say that Europe was used to invasion by immigrants? I wasn’t sure. and bill, you are not that much older than me, but a lot of things you didn’t see growing up, I and my friends did. And believe me, things were not all that great before then just because you didn’t see them.

Rob should try to convince the traitors to murder Derrick, then at the roundtable get everyone to banish Danielle saying she is trying to frame him. give the faithful more blood.

He had a construction job for some time. but yeah, he makes his money doing these reality shows. its good gig, easy work for a couple of months, take the rest of the year off.

I think the jury was split up, half to one side of the judge, half to the other. i saw people in regular clothes on the far sides of the front of the courtroom, i think that was them. Definitely the courtroom is set up differently than in the US. I have some french relatives visiting in a couple of months, i'll ask them if they know. The whole trial procedure was so different, it was quite startling. I agree that the movie is definitely ambiguous both in exactly what happened to cause Sam's death and whether Daniel's second testimony was 100% truthful or not. As the son of two writers and a weekend to "decide" what he wanted to do, he could have decided to adapt his car story to favor his mother's defense. Of course, this is exactly why in america witnesses are usually barred from courtrooms until they testify and usually not allowed to testify after hearing what other witnesses have said (because they can then say new stuff in response). I have always believed that dogs have a 6th sense about people, so it says something to me that Snoop came right up to Sandra afterwards and cuddled with her. the young actor who played Daniel did a fantastic job.

i was surprised this was a movie, I was expecting a series. I hope it gets picked up as a series. It was a good "pilot" if so. Definitely didn't hold back from killing a "group member" off the bat and i liked the mole plot. A series would develop the other characters better, as they really need it. I had no real understanding about the other group members other than Omari Hardwick's (given my familiarity with the Eugenics war).

So that was in episode 2 with Stephen A. Smith and Ro Khana. Ro said that Trump ordered cancer research stopped. I’ve been trying to find support for that. Apparently it’s from his order restriction on suspending NIH research grant reviews which is believed will affect the budget for cancer research. The biggest complaint in Episode 2 was the continued harping on the Dems for so-called virtue signaling where I guess some people were more concerned with pronouns than getting the best message out. I didn’t see that myself but maybe it was more obvious to those behind the scenes. Clearly oftentimes the right message did not go out and the Dems need to do better on that.

Episode 1 Starts off with Rick Caruso who complained he didn’t win mayor of Los Angeles (after changing parties twice) and how he would have totally beaten those fires into submission before they burned the Palisades to the ground. Sure Jan. Then we got Erin Perrine and Larry Wilmore. Erin makes the false equivalency that hundreds of thousands of people donating a million to Harris means the same as a couple billionaires giving the same to Trump. Or that pardoning hunter biden was the same as pardoning people convicted of serious crimes. Or something about influence which was also ridiculous. Larry tried to push back a little but he was not very effective. Bill is right. Baldoni can play Luigi in the movie. so far, doesn’t sound like bill will push back much against trump. Guess we will see. Not sure what more fire trucks would do if the problem was lack of water.

LSSC: Season Ten Episode Talk
Hanahope replied to shapeshifter's topic in Late Show With Stephen Colbert
I think the problem with a lot of "pundits" who were part of a prior administration (like James Carvel - Clinton administration; the PSA guys - Obama administration) is that their opinions are colored by what things were like during the time they were part of the administration. things of changed and they are no longer privy to a lot of behind the scenes information. They don't have the information they had back then. they don't know exactly what Biden had to deal with. So their opinions lack full information. And they aren't in trump's cross-hairs so they don't know what its like to deal with that either. -

They went to a lot of places that didn’t get featured. NZ looks like such an amazing country. I’d love to visit

S02.E03: The Eagle and the Sceptre
Hanahope replied to paulvdb's topic in The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power
I was thinking Sauron didn’t seem he had to do much once he convinced Celebrimbor to let him back in. Cele has quite the ego and Galadriel didn’t bother telling Cele the whole story about Halbrand/Sauron. -
I think Rob acted too soon. Should have let Nikki get voted out, kill off another, like Bob H , then let Ciara take the fall. Then can point the finger at Wes . No need to give the faithful blood. All that does is give the traitors worry about backstabbing each other

S03.E02: Revenge Is a Dish Best Served Cold
Hanahope replied to AntFTW's topic in The Traitors (USA)
If they accepted Rob then I think the person who was “exiled “ would have been the new traitor too. -
They do, but not usually right away. They definitely will eventually, but early in the game they tend to protect each other. At least they have in the US games.

Kind of late here to respond, but I think forcing him to participate in pullinh Harris over for questioning which led to his death.
-
Most of them appear to be similar to or the same as games I saw as a kid except for diachi(?) (the envelope looking one that the recruiter does). The most different one was the five colored pieces game, but it was played somewhat like a game of jacks.
-
I think I recall the old man saying at least some of the games were his favorites.
-
Considering how much they search the players I’m sure they know about it and just figured it would add more randomness and chaos to the games. They don’t really care who or how someone wins and very likely the player on drugs won’t win in the end anyway
-
In-ho was a former winner and now works at the games. Just unsure when and where he started . Has he always been the front man? Did he get promoted after the old man died? I agree he went into the games for money to save his wife but she died before he won. That is probably why he went back into help run the games
-
Ah a cliffhanger, of course. Was 246 shot in the shoulder? Was a bit hard to tell, but I think so. By 11? Will she save him somehow? and of course In-ho would kill Gi-hun’s friend. He was always going to sabotage the rebellion attempt. should have expected the boat captain to be the mole against Jun-ho’s attempts to find the island. Of course In-ho would have him save his brother. Did he clue in In-ho about other things that Jun-ho told him or the other blabbermouth? guess we have to wait a while to find out
-
And the fight is about to start. Who will survive the night? Jin-ho is just playing with them. So many islands…..
