  1. I have a bad habit of watching shows, with only ~80% of my attention. This episode, I didn't even realize there WERE three older brothers. I just saw Colin (with the ridiculous balcony hair) and Not Colin. Later eps were super confusing, as even once I realized they were two different people, I never did figure out how to reliably tell Anthony from Benedict. Oops. Aside from that, however, I loved this show and was immediately sucked in. I stayed up all night Friday, because I couldn't make myself turn it off before the end. The brilliant Duke of Hastings casting was a big part of that. That man is utterly delicious.
  2. Unpopular opinion time: I like this version of Nadine (so far) more than the Nadine of the book or the original miniseries. There's a very good looking, powerful, superhumanly charming, MAGICAL man who has appeared to her periodically throughout her life, both in dreams and while she's awake. He's promised to make her his queen once they are together. I don't find it "one dimensional" or unrealistic at all, that she'd be totally ensorcelled. I do agree with hating the inexplicable relocation of Mother Abigail though. Just one in a series of both bad and completely unnecessary changes they've made to this version. I do feel a tiny bit sorry for Harold (of all people!) for the changes they made to the trucker scene. In the book, Harold and Frannie were already traveling with Stu and Glen, when they ran into the "zoo keepers." That whole "sit here while I rape your friend or I'll beat you more" thing was pretty on-brand for Harold, but still. He wasn't a big enough schmuck in the book, they had to add stuff? Oy. (Nothing in spoiler box - I started to box book info, and then realized we aren't doing that in this thread. Couldn't figure out how to delete it!)
  3. So... I don't hate Fessy's decision. Short term, he gets the skull. Long term, he's probably bought himself another season. And since he's not generally very dramatic, that's a big deal. Was it the smartest move, the way it played out? No. But "smart" is not, has never been, and will never be his strong suit. Also, I'm still in the shallow end of the pool that I jumped into gleefully during BB20. He's hot. Fire hot. It's reality TV, I've got to get my enjoyment somehow, and it's not going to be from these people being spiritual role models. 🤷‍♀️
  4. Josh is a ridiculous crybaby moron.* But aside from him, I think you answered your own question: camera time. * I'm still scarred from BB19.
  5. Thank you for the perfect opportunity to use the repurposed wow-->vomit react!
  6. I agree but if she did get surgery, that doctor should go before a fucking ethics board. She is not even close to ready to pursue it. Source: many years of watching My 600 Pound Life!
  7. I just checked her FB, and the March 3rd post is deleted. So you're probably right. (And an intern at Bravo monitors these boards pretty closely. Hi, intern!)
  8. I don't know how much would be "don't know what you're missing," vs how much "don't know wtf is going on." 🙄🙄 It really was a terrible choice to do it this way.
  9. Yeah, the time-shift is robbing the story of much of its creep-factor. But I felt like this last episode was less-crappy than the ones before it with that, so - hope springs eternal - that improvement will continue.
  10. I just finished ep 3, and it's MUCH better than the first two. Probably because I'm super biased: the structural fuckery was toned way down and it had more ASkars. Amber was given something do do, a nice surprise after her dud intro last week. Book stuff:
  11. I liked this ep even less than the first one. I usually like Amber Heard, but I don't think she's being put to good use here. Larry's story was fine but boring, pretty much how I felt about his book character. The non linear structure continues to piss me off. It feels very second year film student, complicated for the sake of being complicated. Gee, looks like Larry's in danger, I wonder if he'll die? Oh wait, no, we just saw him arrive in Boulder. 🙄 Book stuff, spoiler flagged just in case: Lloyd's story was too brief, but semi interesting. Flagg is awesome, and i find myself getting annoyed that I have to wait until the last few minutes to see him. I'm in this one until it's over, but I see lots of snark in my future.
  12. On a scale of one to fucking infinity, how photoshopped is this picture? That barely even looks like her.
  13. I think the smirk was, "This is the last time I'm contractually obligated to see you."
  14. I think the original plot line was a combination of jealousy/control issues about Buddy, and jerkface refusal to move to Charlotte (how dare he have a life!!).
  15. A couple of seasons ago, we decided the Wow react would be used for vomit on the Big Brother boards. People didn't use the Wow much, and bonus: it's already green. 😉
  16. My friend group must just be filthier than average.* I didn't even notice all the fucking swear words, until a couple of mentions here. * Spoiler alert: that was a humblebrag. We are wayyy above average.
  17. He's creepy as all get out in the book too. If anything, the tv character is significantly better looking and a little less scary.
  18. As I expected, I hated (!!) the time structure. But Marsden and ASkars are both great, so I'll keep watching. The shot of was my favorite of the whole hour.
  19. To be fair, "dignified" has never been Whitney's strong suit. #understatement So this is perfectly on brand!
  20. Unfortunately, one per week, for 10 eps total. (Someone check me on the total?)
  21. Thank you for this. I *cackled* several times, most notably at this: "Without the rampant boozing, The Challenge is just American Ninja Warrior starring people who can’t spell." That is GOLD, right there.
  22. Hell, I like Wes most of the time, and that was still hilarious. TJ's uncontrollable glee was just a bonus.
