Worst of Friends: Your Least Favorite Moments
Inquisitionist replied to Madness's topic in Friends [V]
Yes, Ross is two years older (I think) than Monica. I hadn't noticed that hair continuity problem, but will look for it. -

You've never had perishables delivered by express mail? There are ways to make them hold up quite well. It's been a while since I saw this episode, but I think the point of having it shipped was for it to be found and stolen by the Friends. -
Yes, some of the reviews I was able to track down from the time of The Miracle's release mention this backstory. Wikipedia summarizes the original play's plot as: The movie does indeed update the setting to the early 1800s, but it's apparent to viewers that the statue has "taken the place" of the missing postulant. I don't know if this was part of the original production, but the movie also has the local populace suffering terribly during from drought and other calamities because the statue is no longer available to "intercede" on their behalf. Oy vey.

Did anyone catch The Miracle recently? I vaguely remember watching this with my mom when I was very young and into movies about nuns. Now... I can't believe the Comcast description gave this 3 stars out of a possible 4. It's pretty much a howler. But Roger Moore was pretty.

David Schwimmer will be appearing as a love interest for Debra Messing in 5 episodes of the Will & Grace reboot. Story in Variety, among other places. -
This article suggests that Lisa Kudrow is still friends with Aniston and Cox, and was invited to Aniston's small wedding to Justin Theroux.

I didn't see Suzanne as devious or obvious. Her behavior showed some confusion and ambiguity that I found realistic for a young woman in the early 1960s. I liked her.

Phil Rosenthal, co-creator/producer of ELR, has a video on IMDb in which he discusses his top 5 "food movies." I'm disappointed he didn't include Big Night, which is my favorite food movie, and the film that introduced me to Allison Janney. -
I've never seen Up the Sandbox, but there are a lot of positive user reviews at IMDb.

Worst of Friends: Your Least Favorite Moments

I rewatched the final episodes of S7 and opening of S8 recently. I had to Ffwd through Rachael's birthing scene. First, there's no way Rachael would have been allowed to go that far past her due date, and second, the doctor would have known the baby was in breach position before active pushing even began. Yet they wanted to portray this in such a "realistic" way with Jennifer Aniston all sweaty and scrunched up with her knees almost to her face. I just couldn't take it. -

Did Aretha invent the "mink drop" that evening? Too cool for words. -

The only Aretha Franklin album I ever bought was 1985's Who's Zoomin' Who? I'll be dancing around my living room to Freeway of Love this evening. Thanks for that image, Aretha! RIP. -
S2 is my favorite as well. I prefer to forget that S3 existed.

The One With the Thing: All Episodes Talk

I wouldn't say Joshua scared easily. The guy was just coming off a divorce (papers not even signed yet) and Rachel acted like a crazy person around him. -

Re-watching Season 4 on Nick@Nite, I've noticed that Phoebe got really bitchy and mean during her pregnancy, which they others understandably sloughed off as hormone-related. But did she just remain mean after giving birth? Or had she morphed from sweet and ditzy to mean and judgmental earlier than that? -
"This is our daughter, Dottie. And this is our other daughter, Dottie's sister." This movie had some very funny lines that conveyed so much about the characters very succinctly. Eminently watchable!

A Very English Scandal - General Discussion
Inquisitionist replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in A Very English Scandal
Hmmm, doesn't seem to be generating much of a following here. I enjoyed the series less as it went on. For me the most interesting part was the actual relationship between Thorpe and Scott, but the mini-series dispensed with that pretty quickly. The 2nd installment in particular felt very slapsticky. It bounced back a bit with the trial in the 3rd installment. I thought the scene where Thorpe/Grant explained the "why" of his relationship with Scott to his barrister (punctuated with background scenes of was very effective. -
