  1. And there's no one back in the home office to check in with her regularly? The woman she replaced at the last minute (who actually spoke French) is pregnant, not brain-dead.
  2. Ugh. I stopped watching this with about 9 minutes to go and I'm not sure I can go back and finish. Emily's fucktacular stupidity is too cringey for me.
  3. Thanks! I'll try to catch up before then so I can join in the conversation!
  4. Have only watched the first 3 episodes so far and didn't want to be spoiled so I'm holding off on reading the entire thread. But I have to say that the Weeping Madonna of Dog's Piss almost had me peeing my own pants. 😄 Sister MIchael's reactions to the young priest's ridiculous utterances were priceless.
  5. Well, Phoebe's doctor was watching Happy Days during her delivery so... sitcom rules?
  6. Thanks! I will keep an eye out for it!
  7. "Someone ATE the only good thing going on in my life!" Definitely one of my most-watched episodes along with TOW the Videotape.
  8. Does TCM ever show The Big Street? After seeing Being the Ricardos, I'd really like to watch it. It's $2.99 to rent on Amazon Prime.
  9. I've been rewatching the series while convalescing from surgery. I'm in S3, and I've encountered the same incredulousness re Running with Scissors that I felt originally. The previous episode ends with Aidan saying "I love you" and Carrie reciprocating. Even Samantha believed you've crossed a line if you sleep with someone else after this happens -- and Carrie seems remorseful and ready to stop seeing Big. But then RwS opens with Carrie and Big blithely meeting all over town and ultimately getting together in Big's own apartment where Carrie has the temerity to hang around casually showering and making herself at home until Natasha returns. I do believe this episode is where I started to kinda hate Carrie.
  10. Found MM streaming with limited ads on something called FreeVee, which I accessed through Amazon Prime. This morning I watched the last 3 episodes of S6 (Favors, The Quality of Mercy, In Care Of). What an exceptionally strong trio. A lot of funky stuff happened before that in S6, but this finishing run was among my favorites.
  11. I've watched the first two episodes of Imma Tataranni on Amazon Prime Video and hope to see a few more before the show leaves that platform. I may have to try MHz later, as it also carries the Montalbano series that I've wanted to see. The actress who plays Imma, Vanessa Scalera, reminds me of Frances McDormand: strong and no-nonsense, not conventionally beautiful but she commands your attention. I also like that the series is set in the far south of Italy, a region (Basilicata) that is lesser known to tourists, though I'd definitely like to visit one day. This article provides a nice overview of the series and of the area.
  12. Brett Goldstein has been hosting a podcast called Films to be Buried With for quite some time. Recently I listed to the episode with Toheeb Jimoh which was recorded after S1 finished filming but before it aired. They were both adorable and so funny. As Toheeb is like 100 years younger than me, many of his movie choices were things I hadn't heard of, but I'll definitely look up his starring vehicle, Anthony.
  13. I cheated on Mr. Inqui by watching S2 on my own, so now I have to pretend I'm seeing episodes for the first time when I watch them with him. That was a real chore for this one...
  14. It appears this was postponed due to Covid. The event finally took place on June 9 and will be televised on TNT this Thursday, June 16. The 5 surviving "Von Trapp" children from the movie The Sound of Music led a singalong of "Do Re Mi." ❤️ Charmain Carr (Leisl) and Heather Menzies (Louisa) are both deceased. 😢
  15. The last-minute increase from 10 to 12 episodes for season 2 does explain some of the odd pacing, but not all of it. Does S2 cover just one season? Clearly, I don't understand UK football, because last episode, Richmond got knocked out of the semi-final round for the FA Cup, which sounds like a season-ending thing, but then the season goes on?
  16. I hope you get to! I had the pleasure of seeing it 3 times in Chicago -- and would go again!
  17. Diamond Dogs forever! And really, Ted, what did you do wrong? She had a good time, right? 😉
  18. Jason has more depth as an actor than I had realized. Ted's panic attack shook me. And then we got the team spelling out "Hi Boss"! Brilliant.
  19. Did Ted sacrifice something in the fire? I'll have to go back and check. It would make sense, I suppose, if he didn't as the "curse" predated him. I'm having some trouble hearing the dialog at times, despite having the volume on my TV cranked up way higher than is necessary when I watch anything on Netflix or Hulu. Tried the subtitles option but they lag the dialog pretty badly most of the time. Seems to work better on my phone.
  20. I like that Rebecca is more nuanced than the bitchy club owner in Major League, who was also out to destroy her team (though strictly for financial reasons). Lovely camaraderie between her and Keeley. Their exchange regarding the nude sunbathing photos was priceless! Coach Beard is... surprising.
  21. Ted bravely eating the hottest Indian food EVER was a hoot! Kudos to Jason Sudeikis for making us really feel Ted's reactions.
  22. Oh my gosh, so sweet when we see that Ted has been baking those biscuits himself. Loved his talk with the diva player who scored the only goal against Crystal Palace.
  23. After hearing about this show for almost 2 years, I've just started watching, courtesy of a 3-month free trial subscription to AppleTV. Liking it a lot and I've managed to rope in Mr. Inqui as well.
  24. Hard to believe he was. The guy was elected president of Harvard Law Review about 7 months after meeting Michelle.
