  1. Yeah I was scratching my head too. Now I’m trying to remember what happened with Darlene- did her water break too? She ultimately had a c-section didn’t she? I felt like things were more dire with her than with Becky.
  2. I can see your point but I have a counter point. If they do still love each other and they are now present in each other’s lives on a regular basis, they could definitely be friends and parents and remain super close but also know that that relationship is over as anything more and move on in their personal lives. Or they could decide to try again, but come at it from a different angle. There are no rules for growth- it’s up to them to decide what they want and how to approach a relationship moving forward. Which yeah, Darlene having a relationship with 2 guys and not letting the other guy know isn’t the best start, but also nothing is hopeless if people are willing to change. We just have to see if they are willing or not. I definitely do not want more of the same on and off. But maybe they can figure out a way to finally stay on (some honesty might help there Darlene).
  3. I remember the two things that made me laugh the hardest- Darlene and Jackie “looking for Harris’s earring” with the couch cushions, and “you are confusing having a baby with stealing muffins”. Regarding the awkward love triangle, my opinion since Roseanne season 10 has been that in-story David and Darlene still love each other, but out-of-story JG obviously couldn’t be on the show, but somehow they would find their way back to each other once he was free. That seems to be exactly what is going on here.
  4. Bev’s mother’s name was Mary; DJ already named his daughter after her.
  5. This episode had me laughing out loud. And crying. So good. And I’m glad they addressed the fact that Harris was also a preemie.
  6. Infidelity I’m guessing is Darlene between Ben and David, and weed... Harris perhaps?
  7. https://www.google.com/amp/s/ew.com/tv/2019/08/25/big-bang-theory-johnny-galecki-teases-return-the-conners/amp/ The pic he posted is from the ep 2, the one I saw filmed. So hilarious!
  8. Ok- please skip this post if you don’t want spoilers. By the second episode, Becky has had the baby. It’s a girl and she is a preemie. I’m assuming it’s addressed that Harris was a preemie in the first episode? Unless that was re-written. It’s not addressed at all here. Also the warm-up guy said the baby is named “Bev Rose”. The entire audience “awwwww”d at that. I’m not sure if it’s Beverly Rose or literally just Bev Rose. We hear DJ calling the baby “Bev” at the start of the ep. Becky is having a terrible time- she feels like an awful mother, she isn’t sleeping, she can’t pump any breastmilk (until she does, then promptly spills it)- Lecy does an EXCELLENT job in this ep. I was in tears. I also don’t know if Bev (older Bev) is still around or not. Dan does some great parenting with her. John Goodman is a legend. Mark has had his first kiss with a classmate. They get in trouble for pda and have a meeting with the principal (who is played by the same actress who played Mark’s teacher last year). The other boy’s grandma is basically a homophobic bully and her grandson denies everything. Mark is very hurt and in another emotional scene we see him taking his nail polish off and wishing he wasn’t gay. Darlene and David do some great parenting with him (lots of great parenting in this ep!) Which brings me to the love triangle- yup it’s there, we all predicted it. So I’m a bit confused bc the warm up guy said that Johnny wasn’t at last weeks taping, but I’m guessing he had filmed some scenes beforehand that they had shown to the audience, otherwise this would have come out of nowhere. At any rate I almost pulled my sisters arm off when I saw Johnny put an altoid in his mouth bc it’s obvious why he would do that haha. Apparently he had Darlene have been sneaking around and sleeping together, and only Jackie knows about it. Ben doesn’t know Darlene is also with a David and David doesn’t know that she is also still with Ben, and everyone else still thinks she is just with Ben. Ben notices her being really anxious and recommends she gets therapy. Jackie advises her to just pick Ben, but Darlene is torn. Since things seem to be going so well from David’s POV (getting along, great sex, great co-parenting), he wants to tell everyone that he and Darlene are back together. In order to prevent him from doing this, she pulls out the first thing that comes to her head, which is what Ben told her (and this is the thread that got pulled from last season bc Blue mentions it too)- she tells him first he needs therapy. He agrees but says she needs to go too. And Jackie is like what is wrong with you, the therapist is going to be able to tell you are seeing 2 guys, Darlene is like #crap. Lol So my guess is we will definitely have a therapy ep or two in the near future. Which is actually good bc if they are going to make it work, they need therapy. I’m still leaning towards David and Darlene ending up together in the end, but you know they will take their sweet time in getting there. And Jackie? Was SO FUNNY this entire episode. As usual. Laurie Metcalf is so freakin fantastic. At one point Sara just cracked up so hard bc of her. I love this cast so much!
  9. They didnt make us sign anything so I can share if you guys want but totally up to you. General info- just like last years taping they filmed SO MUCH. I’m going to be kinda sad seeing how cut down the actual ep will be. But the episode itself was very funny and snappy and has heart. There was a thread that was messaged last season that seems like it will be addressed this season, and also something happened that happened on the original show that wasn’t clearly addressed but possibly addressed in the season opener? Vague I know but I don’t want to intentionally spoil anything! The cast is on fire. I was overwhelmed by how good they are. Everyone knows their characters so well. And the crew was amazing too. In this particular ep they filmed a very long scene that goes from living room to porch to living room and finally to kitchen. I was just impressed all around. I think the director was Gail Mancuso, who knew exactly what she wanted. The ep I saw filmed last year was directed by Kimberley McCullough and she did a great job but it was more of a “let’s try this... ok try it this way”, and this was more boom boom boom. They did alter a few things but I feel like most of it was already sorted from rehearsal. Also I felt like Sara Gilbert had a lot of pressure on her (possibly self imposed) to make sure last years episode was good (as producer it makes sense), but here she was able to just act. Speaking of Sara, we kept seeing her walking and running around the lot and the studio before taping- no wonder she is so fit! And at the end we saw Michael Fishman giving handshakes as people were leaving which I had heard about but didn’t see last year. Someone was talking to him so I ducked out without a handshake but that’s so nice of him. The cast gets along so well, you can see how much they all truly care for each other. So many hugs and laughter on set. I guess I feel like a weight has been lifted between last year and this year.
  10. Just got back from the season 2 episode 2 taping- so good!! I’m so excited for this season!!
  11. What I liked about the scene with Ben is he KNEW something was up- he even asks at the end if they are still on for their date later, bc to him it felt like she was possibly breaking up. Both Jay and Sara’s acting in this scene was great. And yes I LOVED the scene in the laundry room!!! I just love seeing these two sisters together and remembering them when they were younger, seeing how much has changed and how much has stayed the same. I love how close they are now, and getting closer all the time.
  12. I didn’t even realize it was a fake accent so I guess it sounded pretty good to me.
  13. He thought he might be able to retire and help pay for her college, and help pay for Mark’s art course. It was actually a really sweet scene IMO. Also I think any added financial burden of having Darlene and her kids living with him is erased by the joy they bring him. Like in the last episode, he tells Darlene to go live her life but once she leaves the room we see he is upset about it. Since he didnt get the big payout, she probably will do the community college route first, barring any other bad life choices- let’s see if Harris can make it through high school and college without getting married or pregnant lol.
  14. She didn’t expect him to pay for it. She politely (for Harris lol) hedged the topic and he went with it. It’s ok for parents and grandparents to buy things for their kids if they are able to and want to. My dad paid for my college and I paid for my grad school.
  15. She did say she gets good grades (and scored high on the ACT) l don’t know how good they are but Darlene didn’t disagree with her. Darlene also said she half-asses things so maybe she is just that smart that she can only half pay attention to things and still do well. The article in the Chicago Sun-Times is very impressive for a high school student.
  16. 2 questions..... Did Jackie and Bev and Peter all live in that apartment together? Are Darlene and David still married? I know she mentioned getting a divorce but not sure if they ever did anything about it.
  17. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/conners-finale-is-us-tv-ratings-tuesday-jan-22-2019-1178283 Tldr the ratings for the season finale were the highest since the beginning of November.
  18. That’s a real life scenario, not a fictional scenario ;).
  19. Haha I love that part! And the “white heritage” comment. I really hope he is coming back somehow, he and Becky have so much potential- both romantic and comedic.
  20. Well to be fair, this is a sitcom and not a documentary. I do agree they could be doing their research some more. But the Conners, even during Roseanne, were never poverty levels. Just working class.
  21. He seemed upset to me- he was going to support her but didn’t want her to go. Darlene and David can have a better relationship now, if they choose to. It’s not out of their control. People keep ripping on David but Darlene wasn’t exactly the nicest most supportive partner. Now? She seems like she can be exactly that. Let’s see if David steps up.
  22. Yep Jackie even said he might get deported or he might be around for another 20 years.
  23. Some of my favorite comedic moments: I think the tattoo thing was an inside joke bc I remember reading Galecki and his real life girlfriend got tattoos several months back. I love “Show the kids your tattoo so they know it’s not cool anymore”. The Bev in the body bag joke was the funniest thing Peter has said all season, both the initial comment and follow up discussion. ”Your dad- you know him right? Dan?” Also I loved every moment with Harris in this episode. She has been finally hitting her stride lately.
