I bought a "sound machine " from Walmart for under $10. It has a choice of ocean waves, rainstorm, white noise, and something else. I use the ocean setting.

You know, the more I hear of Twit, the more I believe that she is stuck in adolescence. I think back to my own preteens: (1) My parents were STUPID. They could not do ANYTHING right, and I had to say this at every opportunity. (2) Anything my parents believed in, like MANNERS, was stupid, and I would go out of my way to do the opposite. (3) My manner of dress was intended to show them they couldn't tell me what to wear. (4) I could be just as loud, vulgar, crude, and rude as the boys. "Well maybe I don't WANT to be ladylike!" Fortunately I grew up. I don't think Twit ever will.

My antique auntie was that way. She was 94 and would NOT entertain the notion of moving to a senior place. Finally at 96 she wound up in hospital with pneumonia, and the doctor refused to release her to go home alone. My cousin scrambled around and found a place that could take her. Unfortunately she suffered a massive stroke shortly after the move, and died.

True. That's one of the reasons I no longer bike outdoors. I'm 72 and scared of falling off the bike --- a fall that could be catastrophic. It's also why I moved to a one story home 30 years ago. I had too many near misses when my BLACK cat would park herself on the DARK staircase. 😁

I dunno. She might try, but I think Randy and Ronnie would squelch that pretty quickly.
