I hope you're right about that savior title, but they've flirted with it multiple times, like they're trying to test the waters. The "dying" kind of automatically (LOL, I initially typed "automagically," which I kind of love and think I may use deliberately at some point!) goes with the "Savior" title/mythology/biblical connection. With this show, they may substitute a sleeping curse for the death.

I agree with the consensus that Emma will "die" this season. I suspect that her "death" will somehow transfer the mantle of Savior onto Regina, because there's been no doubt in my mind since the S4 finale AU that the show is heading in that direction. Maybe Emma will be revived by Hook splitting his heart. I believe he still has the take-one-heart-free magic still in effect on his hook. Or it could just be a sleeping curse, since that foreshadowing has been anvilicious around Emma. I also agree with the ridiculousness of the EQ being both a psychopath with no conscience and yet also won't try to harm Henry. They want it both ways, as usual.

Yeah, it seems clear that Emma & Hook will have separate stories this season, which sucks. I'm sure there will be a few nice scenes, but it won't be the focus.

It sounded like Colin wasn't exactly sure how the "secret" would affect his relationship with Emma or exactly what the repercussions would be fully, other than it will test his relationship with Charming. That means it probably came out in the latest script they got, which is for Ep. 3, "The Other Shoe." We know that's the Cinderella ep and that she will have ties to the Land of Untold Stories. I wonder if she could have some link to whatever the secret is? The title also brings to mind the phrase "Waiting for the other shoe to drop," which could refer to Hook's secret. Oh, I just had a thought -- what if Charming's father is actually alive and was in the Land of Untold Stories? I'm not sure how it would relate to Hook doing something really bad in the past, but it would certainly rock Charming.

Jen joked in the MTV interview that they got a list of the 20 things they couldn't talk about and the two they could. So it's hard to say anything when you're muzzled about spoilers and details.

My theory about the secret Hook's been harboring that will rock specific relationships -- what if he killed the king who sent him & Liam to Neverland? As rulers, Snow & Charming would take a very dim view of regicide. (At least in this instance; it's no biggie that Regina conspired to have Snow's dad killed.)

Nice catch about the hands! That on-the-nose parallel is right up their alley. That scene was nicely done but it just made me really sad for Emma. Saying saviors can't live happily ever after is just depressing as all hell. But it is true that everybody has been taking & taking from Emma. Let me guess: Emma will end up having to somehow give up her magic & being the Savior in order to have a happy ending. Then Regina can step in with her new light magic that Emma has taught her & become the new Savior. I'm sure finding out more about Hook's past will be something we will end up rueing -- much like the Snowing egg-napping retcon plot. I am not looking forward to it because it's TS; TW. From Colin & Josh's roundtable interview, it sounds like it's something really bad that will affect his relationships with "specific people." It sounds like Charming will be one of them. I hope it ends up being more Ursula-level bad than eggnapping bad.

I adored Jen's answer about strong women in her NerdHQ panel. So on point. And I think it was more than a little in response to those who have said that Emma is weak for loving Hook.

The show's narrative is the writing equivalent of when figure skaters try to make it look like they're doing a lot by flailing their arms, distracting you from their simple footwork.

I haven't been impressed by how Sean has handled himself after Robin was killed. I think it was tacky to like a post bitching about Emma's jacket -- that is actually an important symbol for her character, and it kind of disses a former co-worker's (and friend's) story/scene. Does he have a right to be upset? Of course. But I'm sure most every actor whose character was written off a show this season (and there were a TON of them, see this list of them all!) was upset to lose their job. But IMO it's just not professional to whine about it or like dodgy tweets about it on social media. Actors get let go from shows all the time; it's part of being a TV actor. It sucks for the actors, but it probably won't help him to throw shade on social media or in interviews.

I wonder if the Regina/EQ swordfight could also be a dream, much like Emma's seemed to be. Perhaps Morpheus is sending multiple dream warnings? Regina could be scared of losing her magic. If Regina has actually lost her magic, because it was fueled by hate & darkness, I predict that 6x05, the annual SQ-baiting ep, will feature Emma teaching Regina how to fuel magic with love & lightness. Get your tables ready!

Yeah, they simply can't accept that CS & Hook are popular, because it doesn't fit THEIR feelings, so they come up with convoluted conspiracy theories to disprove it. I roll my eyes at the reaching. The OnceABC tweet of the EQ poster, for example, also has a lot of likes from eggs and porn accounts. Even IF likes/RTs are being bought, it's across the board, not just related to CS. Some of the same eggs follow Jen, Colin AND Lana. But of course, they think it only matters related to CS. Newsflash: Every celeb is followed by a bunch of egg accounts. For a lark, I randomly looked at Taylor Swift's and Selena Gomez's Twitter followers. More eggs than a hen house!

It could be flashbacks. Hook running into Sinbad at some point. The ship is at a different dock than where Snowing is filming. Apparently this guy is the one fighting Charming.

I did, but being on the opposite of the country, it does me little good, alas! Pic of the ship in Steveston! Apparently they told the girl on set that they weren't using it for filming today or tomorrow -- but I think that is probably untrue (unless they're filming in secret early Thursday). They're not going to sail that ship up to Steveston NOT to film on it. It's due back in Washington for tours on the 22nd.

Getting Zelena back is not a plus in my book!

I'm excited the real Jolly Roger is in Steveston! This is the first time they'll have used the real ship in forever. (I realize it's an assumption that the ship is in Steveston for filming, but c'mon, why else would she be there?) She left her home port yesterday. It must be pretty pricey to get the real ship up there. They were supposed to use it for the Dark Swan/Hook "date" last year, but budget precluded it so they did it inside in studio instead.

Yes. Very much so. I'm a little torn on whether the Author plot is worse than Zelena-is-Marian-and-gets-pregnant-by-Robin or not. It's close.

If you're talking about the nasty stuff tweeted to Josh, I saw it. Twitter friends of mine saw it. We were talking about it and reported the troll account weeks ago. The content of the troll posts that CCTC reported is what I saw. It was ugly. And was no reflection on Josh, just the troll. It really went beyond the typical fandom hate.

I don't think it was inappropriate at all given that Emma (rightly) feared for his safety and sanity with Regina. He was wildly unhappy and was being gaslit. What kind of mother or person would she be to have just said, "Oh, well, I gave him up, no reason to care, sucks to be him, byeeeee!"
