Anna's chocolate bonbon and Sven's carrot flavors? I expect to see a herd of little Elsas and Annas on Halloween.

Spoiler Discussion: The apple was poisoned?!
Souris replied to regularlyleaded's topic in Once Upon A Time
I expected that, but it happened quicker than I figured. I expect somebody is breaking Hook out of jail -- or he's breaking himself out. I thought that maybe Rumple was controlling him somehow via the hand, but if he's got the hook back, that's not it. Unless it contained an imbedded IED that is the source of the explosion, LOL. And, yes, that "if I don't die while waiting" line to be anvilicious foreshadowing. Again, I'm in the corner chanting "Kai! Gerda!" -
The "Frozen" phenomenon is out of control. This weekend I saw pearlescent "Frozen"-themed Jelly Belly jelly beans.

Spoiler Discussion: The apple was poisoned?!

I agree. I haven't seen her in anything before, and I figured Elsa would be almost as near-impossible to cast successfully as Finnick Odair, but Georgina seems utterly perfect for the role. She definitely has presence. I'm with those who thought the shipwreck scene was pretty bad. The tone and pacing were just weird. God, I wanted to slap Regina so hard with her insta-blame and victiming and "Poor me!" and "You screwed up as usual" to Emma. I wanted to tell Marian to bring Roland and come sit by me. I did love, "Well, that party went downhill fast!" -

The first seven minutes of the premiere are up on ABC.com -- if you have one of the approved cable/satellite companies, which I don't. -

Prepare to have your eardrums burst. Video of the Beatles, I mean Colin, arriving at the premiere. LOL. -

Once again, Kristin from E! gets something wrong. No. 3 seems like she got Elsa and Anna mixed up. Obviously Anna is the one getting married, not Elsa. I hope that gets corrected. -

Regina ripping Emma's heart out and eating it with some fava beans and a nice chianti would be seen as romantic by some. Of course it is. It's Regina. The only happy ending will be hers! I'm guessing that the search for the book's author is the Regina/Henry quest that A&E mentioned. And, yes, they need to switch up the Hook/Emma dynamic some so she's chasing him a bit. I'll be in the corner chanting "Kai! Gerda!" Honestly, I'm only here anymore for Captain Swan, Charming and the Frozen and supporting characters. Possibly Will depending on how they handle his showing up. More spoilers: -

I suspect it was that she never even thought any issues were because of magic when she was with Neal. She would never even have thought about magic then. But now she knows she has magic, so she realized that's what caused whatever happened in the past. Merlin? Dumbledore? ;) And, yes, it's silly for Belle to carry the dagger in her purse. Anybody could take it from her if Rumple's not around. Silly, everybody knows Regina's feelings are more important than anybody else's! -

I know it and you know it, and yet apparently Outlaw Queen got the biggest cheers of the night. So there ya go. More spoilers. You and me both, Marian. You and me both. -

Welp, they went right into the saint-ification of Regina according to her more detailed spoilers. I'm just too tired of it to flip a table right now. Why bother? There would be no upright tables left in my surrounding counties. -

Yeah, that spoiler made me want to hurl, because I know they won't be honest and realistic about how Emma SHOULD feel about Regina. Emma should dislike her at the VERY least, and be wary and distrustful. But I'm sure they'll have Emma telling Regina how much she's changed, how much she admires her, and similar other table-flippy things. -

Ooh, nice thought, Shanna Marie! Rockne O'Bannon of Farscape came onto Revolution as a producer last season, but that got canceled. I don't know if he's up to anything new. Farscape really was done right. Apart from a few of the eps that they wrote on LSD or magic mushrooms. Lots of strong characters. -

Let me go flip a breakroom table. The rest of the article is fine, but STOP SAYING EMMA RUINED REGINA'S LIFE! Regina ruined her own damn life. She's the one who ran away from Robin in the first place. -

I would love Vince Gilligan to do Once, because I would love Vince Gilligan to do most shows. Yes, Breaking Bad was WAY too hard-core for the Once brand, but he also did the absolute best Mulder/Scully dynamics in his X-Files eps. And the movies he wrote were off-kilter romances. -
Ratings and Scheduling: Who's the fairest of them all?
Souris replied to Serena's topic in Once Upon A Time
I'm not sure one can use "Galavant" as a barometer. It is VERY tonally different. Other than the fact that they're both fairytale-related, I don't see them as being alike at all. And I think prospects might be different/better for a spinoff post-Once rather than one that runs concurrently. -

Bringing over discussion about the longevity of Once from the Spoiler thread. IMO, most shows that don't get canceled in Season 1 end up lasting too long. It's very hard to sustain quality over too many seasons; almost inevitably, long-running shows peter out and it ends up being a mercy killing when they end. (I'm looking at you, X-Files.) I don't want Once to last many more seasons, because I think it's already having trouble sustaining itself. I hope that whenever Robert's contract runs out -- I'm not sure if it's for five or seven seasons -- they hang it up. I would bet serious money that he does NOT re-up, and I would imagine a couple of others in the cast would also make that decision. I think five seasons would be about right for Once. Perhaps they can do a spinoff afterward with some new characters in the same universe, but leave the current characters alone, or for a few random guest spots. -

Replying in Ratings and Scheduling. -
It's not so much that I don't know what I want to write, it's a combo of: 1) being a perfectionist about word choices, 2) finding the time and energy to actually get my ideas written, and 3) my writing muse actually being around when I finally find the time. I'm also flabbergasted at how prolific some authors are.

Fandom and Viewer Issues: "Fan" Is Short for "Fanatic"

Fandom and Viewer Issues: "Fan" Is Short for "Fanatic"
Souris replied to Emma's topic in Once Upon A Time
I definitely suspect you are right about that. I watched Buffy and enjoyed it a lot, but I never stepped foot in the online fandom. I saw the farthest outskirts now and again, and that told me I really didn't want to go to there. I don't watch, but I get inklings from things I run across online that the Vampire Diaries fandom might be pretty ... dramatic. That's definitely teen-oriented. I'm really sorry (and kind of surprised) to hear there is nastiness directed toward the actors on Castle. Another show I don't watch, but I have not gotten fandom-drama inklings there. I always thought it seemed like a fairly benign show that wouldn't cause that sort of thing! I guess a lot of it for all shows is the social media that's out there now; opinions are widespread, immediate and somewhat anonymous. That's a recipe for trouble. And like you said, Once has tons of different ships, which always seem to create drama. -
Fandom and Viewer Issues: "Fan" Is Short for "Fanatic"
Souris replied to Emma's topic in Once Upon A Time
Seriously, has anybody ever seen a more dysfunctional, war-torn fandom than Once in any of their other fandoms? I'm curious. I have been out of any fandom for seven years, but I was hardcore in the X-Files and Alias fandoms back in the day, and Lord knows there were disagreements aplenty, but they were NOTHING compared to Once. Of course, the X-Files fandom was mostly carried out on list-serves, Usenet and a few message boards, and Alias had message boards, but both were well before Twitter had reduced discourse to 140 characters. And there was no direct contact with writers or actors. There were certainly jerks in both fandoms, but this is a whole 'nother level. It staggers me on a daily basis. -
I finished "Melt With You." It only took about, oh, over a month to finish the second chapter. God, I'm the slowest writer ever! I was planning to upload it last night, but I was so furious over the HuffPo thing I couldn't concentrate to make the necessary edits. It's at Fanfiction.net and ArchiveOfOurOwn.org.
