I don't expect anything to change, either. The show has the same problems over and over, and they don't learn or want to get better or solve the ongoing issues. They absolutely don't get the real reason CS fans were disappointed, and what's perhaps even worse, they flat-out don't care. They'd rather make a flippant, mocking joke than actually think, "Hey, maybe there's a reason fans were upset, and maybe it's because of something we did or didn't do. Maybe we could do better."

Absolutely! God bless her for actually giving me something Once-related to look forward to. It amuses me greatly when famous people fangirl/fanboy over other famous people. And if it benefits me somehow, so much the better. ;)

I agree with your assessment of the shift in promotion, HoodlumSheep. Clearly, it wasn't an effective strategy if one looks at the ratings. Frozen was popular and brought in tons of people at the beginning. There was some Emma and Hook promotion in the early days; CaptainSwan is very popular with the general viewership, despite what some vocal fans would contend. Then suddenly it was all about Regina, SQ for that one godawful episode, DQ and OQ. They stopped promoting stuff viewers were interested in and started promoting things that simply didn't bring in the viewers. OQ has its fans, but overall I don't think it's that popular, and the adultery angle turned some viewers off a lot. Will they realize that they were promoting the wrong things? No. Back in the "Alias" days, we had a section on the VartanHo website about ABC being run by monkeys. Some things never change.

Christina Perri tweeted that she's off to Vancouver. Hmm, who is in Vancouver that she could be filming a video with? :)

Final ratings. Stayed at a 1.7 in the demos and ticked up only a tiny bit to 5.69 mil viewers.

Welcome to our crazy whirligig of cranky frustration and fun, buildmeupbuttercup! I think you jumped right in just fine. ;) This ep was so frustrating, wasn't it? You enumerated so many of the problems. I HATE how none of the producers or writers seem to care a jot about Emma. They handwave sometimes like they do, but they really don't. She's the gateway to the show for many fans and the character we relate to the most, but they don't see the value in that. She's been reduced to a prop for Regina, just like they did with Snow. It's disgusting, and I feel so bad for JMo, who puts about 10,000% more thought and care into Emma than the writers. Oh, Alias. One of my many TV show scars.

I think you mean Regina. Regina will rescue them. The others are there simply to bask in the glory that is her powerful, radiant light magic. It's like Anna's Bliss on "V." For the other three people who watched that.

Absolutely. I have no respect for producers who feel the need to mock fans. Dude, your show is still on the air because of the people who watch. You may not agree with fans' opinions on your product, but don't treat fans like a joke. It's a douche move.

A&E are just terrible. They see no problems at all with their storytelling. They don't get it, they don't want to get it, and they'll never get it. They think they're clever to "subtly" mock the CS fans being disappointed by saying we only wanted 40 minutes of kissing, which is so far from the truth and misses the point ENTIRELY. Raging egos. The ratings may drop to a sub 1.0, and they'll still think they're master storytellers who are telling a wonderful story that the fans simply don't get. Enjoy your next show, which nobody will watch.

I think scenicbyway nailed it. I fully expect Emma to move in with Regina and Henry so SQ can have their happy family. I had this thought a couple of months ago. It was one of my overnight specials. Did I post about it here? I feel like I did, but I may have thought it was just too horrible to share.

I honestly can't see much of anybody renewing. I think Robert is definitely out. I think Josh and Ginny probably like the convenience of working together, but their characters have been so shunted aside, they must be frustrated. JMo is so thoughtful and loves Emma so much, I bet she isn't too happy with how her character has been turned into a Regina prop. And I know she doesn't consider Vancouver home, so she probably wants to get back to LA or NY. Lana would probably come back, since she's A&E's golden character. I don't know whether Colin's contract syncs up with the others; he's a hard one to read about his true feelings on his character since he's relentlessly a team player.

I feel like I'm seeing complaints and disappointment from people I don't normally see them from. There has been a lot of "It was great! I loved it!" but pretty much anything will get a level of that. It's hard for me to tell overall.
