  1. I imagine it's also cheaper to use sets they already have built, rather than create new ones (either by building them manually or with CGI).
  2. I don't know what in the world precipitated this, but JMo just tweeted that Emma is definitely NOT pregnant. Dunno if people were sending her tweets wondering, or if she saw a particular crazy tumblr theory going around.
  3. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Spielberg is doing the movie version -- which should require some interesting special effects.
  4. People are posting how they feel. Some people are feeling negative. Perhaps there's a reason we're feeling negative. But you're basically asking us not to post how we feel or somehow miraculously change how we feel in order to make you more comfortable. I don't think that's OK. People should be allowed to post however they feel, as long as they're not insulting other posters or spewing profanity, and not be somehow shamed or denigrated or made to feel bad for daring to express their opinions. Imagine if there was nothing but gushing. Would it be OK if somebody said, "I wish y'all weren't so positive and pollyanna about everything! You make my teeth ache with all the sugar! You're being totally undiscerning and interfering with my critical viewing. I can't have a decent conversation here." I don't think that would be cool, either, because I think it's pretty crappy to try to dictate or pass judgment on how others feel or post. Why not just post what you feel about the show, and if others want to chime in on that, they will? This whole discussion would be way boards-on-boards at TWoP, that's for sure.
  5. I figured they took it with them, but they could always send Ariel to borrow it from them. And I'd say Henry could do it. They will of course not utilize it. She totally needs to! That'll get around their pesky "budget" BS.
  6. Given today's tumblr post laying out 25 spoilers they teased that didn't actually happen, I put zero stock in their assertion that we won't be going to any other worlds. I kind of took it to mean only that we wouldn't be setting off for a new world in the finale anyway.
  7. Has anyone else read "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline? I just finished it, and I LOVED IT so much. Most entertaining book I've read in I don't know how long. As a child of the '80s, all the '80s references amused me. And final video game was one of my faves.
  8. I'm guessing they really loved Socha on Wonderland and didn't want him to get away and signed him to contract in a hurry/panic without having any real idea how they were going to use him. And then never figured it out -- or spent much time in trying to figure it out.
  9. New writer says Vince Gilligan is one of her heroes & every writer she knows wants to eat his brains.
  10. If she likes Scully AND Breaking Bad, surely she knows of Vince Gilligan. I hope she emulates him.
  11. I'm kind of guessing that she was on ABC's radar because of the pilot script. They didn't like it enough to pick it up, but maybe liked her enough to bring her in for something in the future -- maybe as a learning field. Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence, IMO, but we'll see.
  12. Great post. They just say shit without it having any basis in reality, don't they? It's crappy to promise fans things and then not deliver.
  13. I'm going with not a great thing, since she'll just likely be following the lead of who's already there. But we'll see. She says she likes "dark-hearted TV," so I guess that means she's another villain fan.
  14. And then in trashing the place he can find some artifact he'd forgotten or that Blackbeard acquired, that can help them find Emma.
  15. I won't, because murdering a pregnant woman is across that moral event horizon. I don't want Emma to have to face that after she undarkens. And also, nothing ELSE on Regina's behalf.
  16. Not to mention ripping out someone's heart and crushing it in front of their loved one.* *Unless she crushes Regina's heart in front of Robin. I'll find a way to be OK with that. As long as there's no take-backs.
  17. Of course they're going to use this to "redeem" Rumple and hand wave away his crimes. Muddying heroes in order to make the villains look better is their modus operandi. This time they'll sacrifice Emma on Rumple's altar.
  18. I could see a parallel to Charming deliberately taking the arrow that DarkSnow meant for Regina. Maybe Hook steps in front of a spell that Emma means for somebody else. I don't think it would kill him, but could hurt him badly. Charming doing that to keep Snow's heart from darkening opened her up regaining her memory with a kiss. Perhaps something similar could happen with Hook/Emma. At first I thought it was unclear. But then I remembered that A&E said that a death presaged the change in condition. So I think he died.
  19. Accurate post is accurate. The Author plot was utterly and completely stupid and nonsensical. It made the characters look stupid as hell. And it opened up a huge can of worms about free will vs. fate and what exactly the characters did of their own choices and what the Author may have made them do -- a can of worms that A&E had no interest in dealing with, so they ignored the implications and never clarified how much the Author "got creative" with. So it was all a mess, and the worms continue to crawl around the streets of Storybrooke.
  20. My guess is a mix of all three. I'm guessing it was filmed last week, when Colin was in town and Sean & Tanya had their baby shower. Happy coincidence!
  21. Oh, yeah, Jessica Huang is all kinds of awesome. So glad they had a lot of her in there. As for Colin, I do think ABC likes him. A&E mentioned in one interview awhile back how they'd never seen such a reaction to an actor from female execs, and how they'd get notes back from execs on scripts wondering if Hook could be in scenes he wasn't supposed to be in. I'm not sure how tongue-in-cheek that was, but I'm sure there was some truth to it. I bet those execs were displeased about the appalling dearth of Hook in 4B. I'm pretty sure each show's executive producers cast their own shows for all intents and purposes, but ABC probably has to sign off on all hires and could veto somebody if they want to or perhaps force somebody to be cast if they really wanted to. It probably varies a bit by network and producer, depending on how much heft a producer has. I know that Chris Carter had to really fight Fox to cast Gillian Anderson for "The X-Files." ETA: Oh, I just realized you probably meant if the actors were picked for this promo by ABC or the shows. Oops. In this case, probably ABC, since it's a promo thing.
  22. They're just clueless and think far too much of their own writing. What they think they're doing doesn't translate to the screen an awful lot of the time. They really think a sentence or two is exploring something.
  23. There is some sort of bad blood between her and A&E. I don't know if it's mutual or one-sided, but something definitely went on there. They'd promised her a storyline in S2, but pushed it aside for other things. She then left to do Intelligence and despite seemingly being free, has been back only briefly. I'm sorry, but have you seen some of the bestsellers in recent years??
