  1. I can't believe how quickly Fessy went from being tolerable to one of the most unlikeable people on the entire Challenge. I've rarely wanted someone to lose so badly. I really hope he gets some self-awareness and changes if they are going to keep inviting him back. Leroy's plan to screw over Cory was so stupid. I'm glad Kam backed out of that. I hate Hall Brawl. It seems like it's just a matter of time until someone gets their neck broken. I like Amber, but she did suck at that daily. I was embarrassed for her.
  2. I don’t necessarily disagree, but I think that was just as much Kaycee doing Amber a favor as the other way around. Agreeing to go in kept Amber from having to make a tough decision and send in someone else. I just think it’s odd for Amber to be making the argument now (I know confessionals are taped after the season), when it’s known at this point that Kaycee would’ve been able to throw herself in against easier opponents. If I were in Kaycee’s shoes, Amber’s “favor” wouldn’t move me either. Now, I think Amber has every right to be mad that she is seen as the disposable one in an alliance that she has been loyal to, but I don’t think Kaycee’s gold skull has anything to do with it.
  3. I’m rooting for Leroy. I would like to see him win. Fessy is one of the only ones left who I really don’t like, and my active dislike for him is fairly recent. My issue with the show has more to do with the fact that it’s been too drawn out, and there’s no drama left, not so much that I dislike the people left. Yeah, I think it was mutual. I don’t think Kaycee, etc had to include Amber in the BB alliance, so I do think Amber benefited there. Amber didn’t seem to have an existing relationship like the others to be automatically included. (I watched BB fairly consistently since 2001 and I didn’t remember Amber at all lol. I thought she was on one of the few seasons that I didn’t watch, but nope, I checked and she was there. Just not memorable to me.) However, the 2 votes that Amber provided - she and Darrell - were critical, so it was definitely a mutual benefit. I do think Amber acting like she did Kaycee a huge favor by sending in her to get her skull is a bit rich though. Amber could’ve faced Teresa herself if going into the crater was such a great thing. Instead, Kaycee went in and arguably won the most difficult elimination against Teresa. This is in spite of the fact that Kaycee would’ve had chances to go in against an easier opponent (like Amber did). She and Leroy won a bunch of dailies where Kaycee could’ve sent herself in, so I don’t think owes Amber anything for that.
  4. Absolutely. I think the cast could actually be much smaller, and the show would work fine as long as the people are interesting. We need less boring athletes and more interesting personalities. While this challenge started out good, it’s reminding me at the end why I became a sporadic watcher over the last several years. It’s really dragging, and it’s just not fun at this point, which is why I watch. If I just want to watch people competing in an athletic match, I can watch real sports. This needs to be fun and have some real drama to keep my attention. I guess I’ll begrudgingly pay for Paramount+ since that Challenge is full of personalities, but I’m still so annoyed that it’s not on MTV.
  5. Yeah. If Kam/Cory or Leroy/Kaycee win the next daily, it will be Kyle/Nany vs. Fessy/Amber. Leroy and Kam won’t send in each other. However, CT is rogue, so it will automatically be a men’s elimination. Therefore, Nany should be safe regardless.
  6. I think the only rule is whether or not Kelli really likes you. It was clear that Kelli loved Danielle and wanted her on the team, whereas I think she was always ambivalent about Brennan. I mean, she cut her twice in training camp before she made it the first time. I think she liked Brennan as a person but was never going to really fight hard for her over other DCCs or potential DCCs. In general, I think vets (who don’t have other issues) should be given passes for injuries and illnesses as long as the injury or illness is not expected to be long-term. If a girl has proven herself to a good DCC and just happens to hurt her ankle or get the flu right before tryouts, but will be fine by the time the season starts, I don’t see why she shouldn’t be brought back.
  7. I’m so over Fessy. I’ve never been a fan, but I’ve never actively disliked him before. In the past, I’ve always found him to be boring but generally inoffensive. However, his arrogance has gotten out of control. MTV needs to make him sit out a few Challenges to get some perspective. He’s just not fun to watch. Amber should’ve known that she would be at the bottom of the BB totem pole. Still however, Fessy and Kaycee acting like she shouldn’t be upset about being voted in by her alliance is ridiculous. Kaycee could draw a line in the sand over Amber the same way that Leroy does over Nany, but she chooses not to. That’s fine, but don’t expect Amber to be happy about it. Kyle is also annoying me. He and CT aren’t longtime friends who go way back. Why does he expect loyalty? The biggest question: Why is MTV dragging this out? I’m only watching at this point to see it through to the end, but it’s not fun anymore. Last night should’ve been a double elimination with the final challenge next week.
  8. Does anyone remember which season it was where Coral struggled in the final challenge? I think she got bit by a snake or spider. Is that season available anywhere?
  9. Yep. The thing is, I think Zach actually believes it. He is a true asshole in every possible way. With Fessy, what makes him so tedious is that it seems like he is trying to play a role (and playing it badly, I might add) that he thinks will get him booked more often. It’s like he said “damn....my showmances are gone, so I gotta stay relevant somehow; let me pick a stupid fight with CT.” Fessy is just boring and more of an annoyance than anything. I hope they don’t keep casting him. I don’t really see what he brings (there are way more interesting BB players than him).
  10. I felt bad for Aneesa. I’ve always liked her and wanted her to win one. That was just the worst potential elimination for her. However, it’s also clear that she’s not in shape for a final. Kyle and CT shouldn’t have been assholes about it, but facts are facts. Kyle ping pongs every week between being decent comedic relief and being annoying. Tonight, I thought he was annoying. Fessy....shut up until you win something! Big T should’ve picked a new partner. I was surprised that she didn’t.
  11. https://ew.com/tv/queen-of-the-south-season-5-preview-video-alice-braga/ Above is a link to an article from Alice Braga and the showrunners about season 5. It contains some insight into James and Teresa, Boaz, the judge, and KellyAnne and Pote’s relationship. There is also a clip from a scene in the season premiere.
  12. Agreed. They could’ve picked off rookies early on and then tried to take out BB. I also think the longtime vets threw away any opportunity to really own the game when they went along with the rookies in throwing Tori/Aneesa into the crater. Teresa then further splintered the vets by getting rid of Ashley. At that point, BB had the numbers, and of course it made sense to work with them, which was largely driven by Kam. She is really one of the few people there who seemed to show any long term critical thinking. I do wonder if this season would’ve turned out differently if a man and woman was eliminated each week. Thus, both members of the team would have to compete for a gold skull. I think we would’ve definitely seen one partner vote to go in (if they didn’t have a skull) and the other not. Would’ve introduced an extra element of drama and surprise. The rogue agent element just took out a lot of the potential drama, IMO, because that has always been a dead giveaway about whether it would be a male or female elimination.
  13. I know I’m jumping back in late, but I don’t think this really shows that. Lady W is a gossip rag. Of course he wanted to hear from Marina to know if the rumor was true. Who wouldn’t? On the other hand, Pen lives with Marina, so she would been privy to personal information about Marina. I don’t buy that he wouldn’t have confronted Marina about it had Pen told him the truth and told him how she learned it. Now, if Marina still lied about it, then sure, I think he would’ve still eloped, but that’s different from what happened. Regardless though, I think this notion that Pen had to stop him from eloping any way possible, even through public humiliation is where I lose the argument. Even if she thought telling him and him alone wouldn’t stop him, why does that matter? It’s her place as a friend to tell the truth. Period. That’s it. If Colin still wants to make a bad decision and marry Marina, well then, that’s his bad decision to make, not hers. As an example, I’m sure basically everyone has had at least one friend who has dated and/or has married a terrible person. If my friend’s girlfriend is pregnant with someone else’s kid and I know it, I should tell him. If he blows it off, maybe I’ll tell others friends and get them to intervene. BUT if I’ve told him the truth and he still chooses to marry this woman, I can attend the ceremony and pretend to be happy for him or I can decline to attend. What I’m not going to do is stand up when the officiant asks if there’s a reason they shouldn’t marry and tell the whole church that the bride is pregnant with someone else’s kid. I’m also not going to stand up and announce this information if I haven’t bothered to tell him the truth in private. Those 2 scenarios would just be me being a shitty person, not a friend. With all that said, I don’t hate Pen or Marina, and I’m interested to see where the show goes with Pen in season 2.
  14. I definitely think the longtime vets should’ve gotten together early on, but looking at the list of people that you included, all but CT have been in an alliance for a while now. It’s just that they have all also been part of the BB Alliance. I think that’s really the question - should they have teamed up with BB or formed their own separate alliance? Given that all have made it this far, I’m not sure they would do anything differently. Even if you look at Darrell this week, it wasn’t really the BB people who got him into the crater. It was orchestrated by Leroy and Kam, and they didn’t want to throw in Fessy bc Nany (a longtime vet and friend of Leroy) would’ve also been exposed. I think had they been able to save Darrell and take a shot at Fessy without endangering Nany, they would have.
  15. Yeah, the show needs to throw some twists in to get some drama. They could at least throw in a double elimination or scramble all of the partners - something. While I don’t really actively dislike anyone who is left (some annoy me more than others for sure), the contestants left either don’t bring the drama or they’re just not in a position to need to do anything at this point. I’m not usually one who even cares about hook-ups, but beyond the bland Fessy/Gabby story, we haven’t even had drama on that front this season. ETA: Amber being rogue next week isn’t great for Big T. Just in terms of size, she is probably the easiest to beat (she or Nany). Now, I think Aneesa would be very beatable in the elimination that Leroy won. That elimination game is worst case scenario for Aneesa, but otherwise, l don’t think Big T would want to face her in an elimination.
  16. No. There were a few people in their 30s and 40s in my law school class, but it's definitely harder to go back than to go all the way through or only take a few years off after undergrad. It's just hard to get back into the mode of being a student again, and law school (particularly the first year) is intense. For example, I can't imagine having kids and being a first year student, although plenty of people manage it - you just have to be in a certain type of mindset, which I don't think a lot of people are once they have been out of college for 10+ years.
  17. Yep. Also, it seems like every year there are reports of mass retirements, but they never actually happen.
  18. Yep. Jenna is a good example of this. She is short in terms of height but has a short waist and long legs, so the boots looked fine on her. Amy is the opposite in terms of body type- long torso, short legs. Lucky for her, she is a bit taller, so the boots still didn't swallow her legs.
  19. I didn’t watch Marissa’s video, but I agree with the notion that if putting her surgery on social media can help bring awareness to issues that are absolutely not discussed enough, then that’s a good thing. Endometriosis is a leading cause of Infertility, and infertility is something that many, many women suffer with in private, but is rarely talked about publicly.
  20. I'm not surprised that it is being cancelled. This season being 10 episodes, while the others were 13 was a clue, but the bigger one was that USA is moving away from all of its scripted tv shows. I think after Queen of the South ends, there will be only one scripted show left on teh network. Oh well, I binged the show this summer and got hooked. I think there is enough material for 6 seasons, but I thought the last season (season 4) was the weakest one yet, so I would rather the show go out on a high note than on a weak one, which can happen when shows go on too long.
  21. If I were Nany, I would’ve picked Darrell or Leroy. I get that she doesn’t want to upset the BB alliance by stealing Kaycee or Amber’s partner, and Fessy wanted a new partner (so, win/win for both of them), but still, I don’t think Fessy has truly proven himself. As much as Fessy annoyed me with all of his Aneesa bashing behind the scenes, I did appreciate that he didn’t act like CT did when he got a new partner. It was obvious that Fessy wanted to be done with Aneesa, but he at least didn’t embarrass her in the moment. I would love to see Aneesa outlast Fessy though, and Kyle too, who I thought acted like a petulant kid when he got paired with Aneesa.
  22. Yep. As soon as Courtney made that comment about not being that small in years, I thought she might be a one and done. It’s one thing to lose that weight for a set purpose (making the team), but very difficult to stay there long term. I’m short and a similar build to Courtney. I would be called soft by the DCCs too, even though I have a small frame and I’ve basically been a Size 2 for most of my adult life. If I were in training camp, I could probably get down to a Size 0 (I’ve done it before w strict diets), but staying there all year would be a different story. I would inevitably get back to a 2 and be called soft again and be on weight warning (cycle would repeat over and over)- but that’s the size and shape I’m supposed to be. I feel like Courtney was in a similar boat. Vivian would’ve also been in that boat had she made it, I think.
  23. Nany plays a scared game, no question. However, I feel like nearly everyone this season has basically taken the position that they should get to go in when they want, against who they want. Everyone has been pretty entitled about their skulls this season, IMO.
  24. This episode was pretty boring, and I hate the “eat nasty crap” challenges, where people throw up over and over again. So, this was probably my least favorite of the season. I’m happy for Nany. Finally she got an elimination win, and seeing her dump Kyle made it better. I found him to be annoying in this episode. While I understand why no one wants Aneesa as a partner (she obviously isn’t in the shape needed to do well in a final), I hate seeing everyone trash her. Gabby grew on me in the end. I wouldn’t mind seeing her come back for future seasons.
