I couldn't agree more with this whole post. The adult actors/himbos including Rory have been terrible. I've been checking in every once and a while and every guy they've paired poor KS Maxie with since Logan and Johnny have been absolutely horrific. Big mistake to kill off Logan (dead ringer for Scott) IMO but the young adults, NAC, TA, AP, EMC and WL have been incredible.

Trying to use her as a punching bag so he doesn't take it out on Portia is vile. It's not her business or her place to be telling him these things. It's between him and Portia. This is the very definition of "Why am I involved in this?" Go home and talk to your WIFE, Curtis.

I saw some of those storylines and still felt she was hit and miss but she also had the chance to showcase Trina's personality, her passion for art and just act like a teenager hanging out in the park. Her initial scenes of flirtation with Spencer were allowed to be just that with no underlying current of malice or mistrust. TA hasn't had a chance to play Trina as just Trina yet because she came in in the midst of the trial then hopped straight to Rory's death and the paternity, een the long awaited kiss came out of another spectacle and wasn't an isolated moment which it usually is for soap couples especially ones that have been plotted out for a year. I think the pacing was probably better written when SM was on because there were moments to breathe in between all the chaos. But they wrapped TA's Trina up in the Hook plot and paternity scandal then seemingly forgot about half of it then it looks like they tried to wrap it all up at once. She really hasn't had a chance to show a bubblier or happier side of Trina. We didn't even get a moment to breathe from their first kiss to them finding out that Esme is pregnant and at Wyndemere with Ryan and Heather or that Esme is their daughter. That's a LOT of story to drop at once. That's a pacing issue IMO but since TA has been on they've been flooding the character with plot points so there's been no opportunity to see Trina just being Trina reading an art book or preparing a gallery showing. I hope we can get to see more of Trina in this romantic situation and not just at the peril of everyone's terrible decisions. I love that you brought this up because I've always felt that TB's Carly had brain damage. I fanwanked that as the reason the character took such an about-face Sonny Sonny Sonny attitude mid-TB run. I know the actor hated it as well. I blame Sonny shooting her in the head while she was GIVING BIRTH. It's no wonder Morgan had mental health issues. That's the kind of trauma that sticks, Mother Hunger and attachment issues and all that. I am unsurprised that he is in the grave but also disappointed because he's the ONLY child of Sonny's I actually like.

I actually prefer Tabyana, I think she's a stronger actress and I haven't seen a false moment yet. I saw quite a few of SM's scenes as Trina and enjoyed her performance mostly although I did feel sometimes it was very hit and miss like Leo and Claire's performance in Romeo and Juliet when it's on, it's perfect but when it's off it's off. I find Tabyana's performance to be heavier and more grounded. I feel like people may be forgetting that since TA showed up she's had nothing but heavy, dark scenes to play and she delivered. SM had the benefit of playing 3 years of Trina and even in her last year we got to see her light, fun side. Unfortunately for TA since she was recast in the middle of the trial Trina has had non-stop turmoil. From the trial, amd harrassment from Esme to Rory's death, the Hook and the paternity reveal. I hope they give TA some lighter moments to play, I know she enjoys comedy and I'm sure it can be pretty exhausting to be playing a character in such a dark space all the time. When Trina finally started to move forward from the trial then Rory's death happened then she got the paternity fallout. I remember playing a character who lost their family for six months and I was surprised to learn I was a bit of a method actor because it's hard to shake that stuff off when you wade in it for long periods of time. I hope they give both NAC and TA some lighter moments otherwise that's a really good way to burnout actors especially when they're new to the medium. Ugh, how depressing. I mean I guess a tumour could ostensibly eat the sociopathic part of the brain but damn, really?

I choose to believe this isn't the case. In my opinion MC's Nik is an imposter which makes this new lame baby no Cassadine relative and removes Spencer from the responsibility of having to take care of his "sibling". MC never behaved like Nik to me and though Nik was no Saint, having sex with his son's teenage girlfriend and blaming it on her is a stretch. Although Esme is an absolute sociopath who should be locked up Nik would still take responsibility for his part, as he did when he slept with Liz. Plus he simply doesn't have the Cassadine manners, posture or overall behaviour that NAC and NB before him took great pains to show. Regardless Esme needs to pay and the idea that amnesia would somehow reform a sociopath is wild, especially given that both her parents are also sociopaths (Ryan, full blown) and her uncle is a therapist he should know this. Sociopathy is a chemical imbalance. It doesn't somehow repair itself with amnesia and the suggestion is rather absurd. Perhaps if they hadn't written Esme into a box nearly immediately they wouldn't have this problem. But even other known villains on the show like Ava or Carly have shown empathy for others in one form or another. Esme was written and performed entirely without empathy and that's not something a bump on the head can resolve.

I'll be honest, I'm so desperate for any shred of AJ I'll take it however I can get it. It's disappointing to hear the actor isn't very strong though because Sean's abilities were limitless. He was also (IMO) the only guy LW had actually chemistry with.

Daaaang thank you for the update! So this is a *less toxic version of Sonny then? I haven't see the Dex actor's scenes much, if he's not that compelling I hope he improves because I'd love another AJ child especially a loyal one. Michael has been a *ahem* disappointment to say the very least.

Okay, not to beat a dead horse (but I am a Taurus so it's kind of my MO) but as someone really only watching Sprina clips am I to understand that the only reason Michael is angry at Sonny is because he cheated on Carly? Not the whole, "murdered his father in cold blood" thing? Because if that's the case I really do hope Dex is AJ's son. AJ deserves a son worthy of his love that actually gives a damn about him. I'm no Jex fan but the storyline potential of AJ's son screwing Carly's spawn on the regular while trying to destroy Sonny with his other son would fill me with glee. Not as much glee as AJ actually never being killed off in the first place but I'll take what I can get.

I concur, dude. This show is getting cancelled. I haven't tuned in since Josh Morrow inserted himself in Ally and I was already hanging on by a thread with the disrespectful way they killed off two BIPOC characters in less than a month. I want MG to get out while the getting is good. This show is about to get Guiding Light last days levels of bad in terms of production and Passions level of bad in terms of foolishness. Pour one out for the fan faves, they didn't deserve this. And the crazy thing is the ratings opportunities are there, there's more opportunity now than ever before due to various broadcast media (mediums?) and with life being absolute shit for almost everyone people are craving nostalgia more than ever. If these stupid soaps would just focus on the Vets and tie old storylines and history with new ones their ratings would be through through roof. It also doesn't make sense to shove characters in places they don't belong when there's already built in fanbases. Why isn't Nick with Sharon or Phyllis? Why not try Jack, Nicki, Victor triangle again? Why not put Lily with Daniel. If people want Paul and Cricket bring back Paul and Cricket. Bring back Olivia, what happened to Moses and Faith? All the solutions are right there but the HW doesn't want to use them. Fire the guy and bring in Wendy Riche.

Yeah, Tabyana is incredibly talented and coming into a recast in the middle of a storyline as a 20year old is crazy. She's a real find. Not to mention it's rare to find a Black Actress (not a bi-racial actress) nevermind a dark-skinned Black Actress on a soap opera and not playing a villain. As much as time has marched on, soap operas have remained frozen in time in terms of diversity where they used to be the leading medium. IIRC there hasn't been a dark-skinned Black actress on GH with a storyline since the Wards and the last one I remember seeing on a soaps in general was Dayzee on B and B.

Unpopular opinion around these parts but my soul hurts at what they've done to Laura's babies. Haven't watched GH in full and haven't since they killed off SK's AJ. That was it for me. I've been watching Spencer and Trina scenes on youtube which is what turned my head but I still haven't watched a full show in over 9 years and since they seemed to have killed off Nik I certainly won't be. All I wanted was Tyler and NAC in scenes together but GH thought the 60th anniversary was a great time to murder Laura's first born child. I understand that Maura West is a fan favourite due to her incredible talent but Ava and whoever Howarth and Easton are playing this week don't mean jack to me. Give that airtime to Laura, Anna, Felicia, Taggert and Trina, Trina and Spencer and the damn Quartermaines. I don't care about these OLTL ccast-offs. I don't care! I'm hoping that MC and AH "Nikolas" will be ruled as imposter Connor or somebody and the real Nikolas TC will emerge, someone who would never sleep with his son's teenage girlfriend then blame her for it I know its a longshot but it's canon in my head because life is miserable enough. It's also canon in my head that he comes back with Stephen Nichols' Stefan as his father not uncle. I don't accept the retcon and I never will.

I tend to think they're of the Steve Burton variety. I liked PB's white tux, I think it looked nice. I tend to think the entire cast is very good-looking and that includes former Summer Hunter King. She didn't need the collagen nor does CH they're both beautiful without it. I imagine the advent of HD has put even more pressure on female actors to look perfect in an industry that wasn't particularly forgiving to begin with.

I love the softcore porn to be honest. It's frankly why I watch soaps. Characters with chemistry doing the horizontal mambo with a little bit of tears and angst (a little bit) in between. If I can get some great plotlolines to go along with it then I'm all for it but it doesn't happen very often so mostly I watch for the chemistry of characters and when it's good I really appreciate the love scenes. I remember I was so happy to see Nick cheat on Sharon with Phyllis because I always felt they married them off and gave them a baby waaaaay too young. Sharon became a desperate housewife overnight desperate for bandaid babies and Nick became a selfish dick. I was thrilled to see the end of the relationship especially when it gave me Phick and I was hoping it would give me Sharon and Brad too but of that a despair. Nick and Phyllis had a really smooth, easy, red hot chemistry in the beginning before they were loving out loud. If Josh Griffiths had a fucking clue what he was doing he'd notice that Nick hops into bed with a woman (regardless of the context) whenever he can't handle his feelings, from Phyllis to Grace to Sally. And if anyone in Genoa City had a memory they would alert both Sally and Chloe to that so they could both stop strolling around town like they did something.

I think she's done some nice work with PB and JM and I think JM has done some nice work as well but Phyllis works better as a supporting character not the lead.

I've really enjoyed MS in the past. She was a wonderful villain in the beginning and I enjoyed Nick and Phyllis' affair very much as I thought they had a ton of chemistry and I hate Nick and Sharon together. To me MS' acting isn't the problem, the writing is. It's like MB on GH, a character like Phyllis or Sonny should ALWAYS be written as a villain or at the very least Grey. When you write them as a hero backed by the townspeople and unequivocally supported it makes the characters unrootable and hard to stomach. There's a place for characters like Phyllis (and Sonny) but it's not in the heroine (hero) section. E.T.A I think Michael Damian looks good. He's aging as he should and he's also under the unforgiving gaze of high definition which I think a lot of people forget when judging soap actors and actors in general. It's the reason for the massive boost in botox in even younger actors nowadays like Hunter King and Courtney Hope. High Def is an absolutely toxic and merciless addition to media IMO and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone over the age of 40 who looks good broadcast in it. It's down to luck, a good makeup team, botox and good genetics at this point.

I like their chemistry.

Chance is getting the Adam Newman treatment I guess. JG really has something against hot looking men or what? I was shipping Cane and Traci hard. I'm disappointed to hear that the actor behaved that way. I would have loved to see Traci front and centre again.

I would prefer a miscarry over anything otherwise (shockingly) I want it to be Nick's. I just want Adam TF out of this storyline and away from both Sally and Nick. I don't want him to have to be tied to her trifling ass forever. Spending the rest of his life worried that she'll turn around and boink his brother over the smallest inconvenience isn't what I want for him. Let Sally and Nick find out the hard way how ill-suited they are for each other. You break it you bought it. Besides I don't think it would be prudent to keep MG and CH in scenes together as i don't see their IRL relationship lasting that long.

He seems like a fun guy (aside from any weird anti-vax nonsense) I just want TC back. I'm only watching for Trina and Spencer. I swore I'd never watch again after they killed off AJ again so I'm following Sprina on YouTube. I would love to see NAC act opposite TC. No offense to MC but I don't find him to be a very strong actor and I think the kids deserve an onscreen parent who knows their way around a script. It's their chance to learn everything they can about acting and I don't think NAC can get that kind of experience from MC.
