  1. Glenn was my favorite character of any show ever and I will miss him sorely. However, last season's finale and my ability to mourn over the summer (because, let's face it, most of us were predicting his death) left me careless about the deaths in the premiere. With that being said, the sheer brutality and the noises of all things was what haunted me. I'm still sad by Glenn's and Abraham's deaths but it could've been so much more if that had been the finale, as previous posters said. I will say, though, that I can't blame Daryl for Glenn dying as other people have. What I'm more confused about is how he was sitting there with his arm shot, weak and sweaty and all that but he was able to move fast enough to sock Negan before anyone could do anything.
  2. Where in the world did the poem thread go? I can't find it. May just be an idiot, but could someone help a sister out?
  3. And that, my friend, shows how very wise you are. One of my mom's theories is that Glenn is brained, then Maggie collapses and dies because her baby is a zombie and slowly making her septic. I love love love Glenn and Maggie (they're my favorite) but I think that would be an interesting route to take. I'd wouldn't even be mad.
  4. Now that we're about halfway through, does anyone have any theories about the raining teeth thing from the first episode? I've been trying to understand the connection and I can't. Something to do with the Druid Gaga witch? I have no idea.
  5. I really enjoyed this episode! I called the death-by-nurses thing so I'll allow myself a gloat there, but I thought he was going to die in the weird hot tub thing. I was also hoping Edward Mott would kill him, which would've been ironic. The nurses did look rough, but they're the real ghosts, not the ones from the re-enactment. I keep forgetting this is show-ception. It hurts my pea brain. I, too, am glad they left Fake-Flora out of that. If they had taken her in there, someone would've called CPS. Real-Lee's attempt at chatting with Fake-Lee was interesting. I'm glad she kept her sobriety. Can't stand LB's Shelby, though. She's the worst. If she's last man standing, there is no justice in the world. I also liked that Fake-Shelby made fun of her. There was a lot of in-group/out-group stuff going on and I'm interested to see how that plays out as everyone tries to stay alive. But one thing I can't understand is WHY THE HELL WOULD SHELBY/LEE/MAAAAAAATT GO BACK TO THAT DAMN HOUSE! Reputation, marriage, none of that matters if you're deader than a doornail. And who wants to live with the Butcher for eternity?!?! (I wouldn't mind Wes Bentley, though...)
  6. AHHHH! I am sick to death of my family over-analyzing every detail. We've watched all 6 seasons at least half a dozen times since the season finale. I am so very relieved to have the end in sight. I don't even care who lives or dies at this point, at least I won't have to hear my mother's crazy theories. I tried to tell her the writers aren't as into details as she is, but there's no convincing the woman. Anyway, I predict the first 10 minutes of the premiere is the last 10 minutes from last seasons' finale. Is the run time longer or is it still in the hour timeslot?
  7. I was surprised when this episode was over because I felt it went by too quickly - and with too many damn commercials! I was a bit annoyed by this episode because my mom and sister were confused and I had to keep explaining everything to them, which took me out of the story. I loved the house, though my mom and I laughed at it being only 40k. There's a haunted house by me that was probably a quarter of the size that went for 200k and that was with only 5 acres. Anyway, the framing of the show was interesting for the first few minutes but got annoying. I really hope they don't do that for the rest of the season. The last two minutes of "Into the Woods featuring Kathy Bates" was probably the best, in my opinion. I love when AHS is creepy, though I also enjoy the comedic parts. I'll be tuning in, but I always tune in, even for trainwreck shows. (Except for "The Lottery" because that was just insulting to the viewers.)
  8. I'm rather interested to see what would happen when (if) Jinger moves to Laredo. I think the Dillards were different because they were in a whole other country, but what will The Boob do with Jinger so close, yet so far? Frequent flights to patrol his colony? As a side note, I'm highly interested in how people, in general, name their children, but I'm especially curious about Jinger's baby name style. Part of me thinks she'll go normal Anglican/Biblical names (Elizabeth, Daniel, Jacob) and part says she'll go full Italian to please the in-laws.
  9. I think Davia has the strong jawline of the Waller clan. If you look at Ma and Pa Waller's blog, you can see in the photo that most of David's siblings have that jaw. Davia's chubby cheeks just accentuate it.
  10. Good lord, I just heard. My first thought was wondering if they had a job yet. At this rate, Izzy is more likely to have a job first. I thought it was twins or triplets at first due to the "doubling" part. I'm sure Jessa will love the attention having the first multiple grandbaby birth will bring her.
  11. I thought I missed a few episodes but nope, this was the first. I have no idea what's going on with this show. I agree with PP - the writers must've scrambled to come up with a new storyline. I wouldn't mind delving into the workings of the smallfolk of the town (the guy painting his house, creepy couple, random other people). I'm hoping they work in Ethan's badass climb into the mountain like in the books, but this time it's Ben and his friend Theo. Ooh!!! Maybe Theo is there to be the new "God" and take over Pilcher's place!!! I just figured out the whole show. Sorry my thoughts are so jumbled. But I guess that's fitting and much like the show. ;)
  12. No, I was just confused about what you said. I'm just a tired idiot. ;)
  13. I was assuming they'd show the scene through PTSD flashbacks. If Glenn died, for example, they would be Maggie's flashbacks. I don't think they'll show the deed itself, but like PP said, flash to each other characters' faces. I imagine there will be blood sprayed onto whoever is closest to the victim. I will watch it because I love the characters and I'm highly invested, but it will be horrible. I've watched the finale 6 times and the last ten minutes at least 15 times (my mom and I watch it together and had to analyze everything) and I still feel sick when I hear the last 2 minutes. The crunching sound is awful enough. I think they'll leave that part to the imagine - whatever you think it looks like will be worse than whatever they will show.
  14. You're welcome for the link! I know a lot of people who have said the whistling was stupid but I think if you really do put yourself in the situation, it would be terrifying. Especially considering the massive size of the Saviors when CDB thought the Saviors were only the ones at that outpost. In regards to the characters, I feel like the only time a background character gets some airtime is right before they die. So now whenever we see this happen, we don't get as invested because they won't make it to the end of the episode. I don't need them to be in every scene or even every episode (because it's not like we see all of the original CDBers in each episode) but something other than a death scene would be nice. I'm in it for the characters, not much else. (Ok, a little for the zombies.) Heath is still alive, though.
  15. Okay, so I'm way behind on posting because I was trying to read everyone's replies to prevent from saying something that's been beaten to death. (tee hee) And now I can finally respond! I've been thinking a lot about what happened to all of the colleges, especially in the MD/DC/VA area, during the beginning of the walker invasion and I've been wondering if the Tron Knights (I call them the Dungeons and Dragons horde) might be a college full of nerds that went Renaissance. It's a cool thing to think about. I've also been wondering why there are so little doctors for being the DC metro / VA. I would think there would be tons, unless they bit the dust in the early days trying to treat people. They wouldn't have had any way of knowing that everyone was infected for a while, I would think, so that would make them more vulnerable as they were taking care of the bitten/sick/wounded/elderly, etc. Negan's group at the rumble rally was a sausage fest. Where are all the ladies? Did Maggie and Carol take the only lady Saviors out? Do they have a village of lady Saviors tending the baby Saviors? Maybe it's the sociologist in me, but I need to know more about these folks. The Tron Knights, too. And Hilltop, while we're at it. I love world-building stuff. I really wish we could get to know communities instead of all the quick endings. I wish Terminus had been explored a little more before jumping out with the cannibals R us thing. Speaking of Negan's group, their whistling reminds me a lot of the Rebel Yell. Terrifying if you were in battle or ambushed. I think it was unsettling, but I really feel like I put myself in the show, if that makes sense. It makes the show all the more terrifying to me. I was crying and wanted to throw up during the last ten minutes. I felt Negan's speech was amazing and it was supposed to be long to build suspense. I was so angry when the big reveal wasn't revealed because I needed that release of emotion. I agree with PP that it did ruin the whole episode. I think the pacing of the episode was off in general, but I'm still really upset by not knowing. We all would've tuned in anyway so I don't think it was necessary, but that's been beaten to death by PP and I wanted to avoid that. Anyway... I understand that there are a bunch of ASZers that we haven't met yet, but when will we? Will they just be used as fodder when the battle comes (which it will)? Then again, I feel like this show always gives more questions than it answers.
  16. I couldn't help but laugh at Daryl getting shot (I know, bring out the pitchforks) simply because he's my mom's favorite and she talks about him annoyingly often. But don't you dare hurt Maggie or Glenn! I'll come at you, bro! FPP's arc is rather interesting. Maybe he will be sacrificed so Judith can live. Maybe she will shoot him, a la Maggie Simpson and Mr. Burns. I foresee a death, obviously. I'm thinking Rosita and Glenn. I hope I'm wrong. :( I was thinking about that, too, and the only thing I can think of is that the AZS was so puny and insufficient that they didn't even bother trying. They would've wiped themselves out from pure stupidity and didn't even have that much supplies, so it wouldn't have been worth the efforts (had they known and scouted out the place).
  17. "Dolphin THIS asshole!" Sasha says. Girl fight ensues. Wouldn't that be nice? (Changed the punctuation for a slightly different meaning. Hope that's not cheating lol
  18. Bisquick euphemism sucks, too, but so does no more food. Sorry, Judith, here's acorns.
  19. I may be in the minority, but I actually liked the Saviors. Not Donnie or the bikers, but the the lady trio. I thought they were badass but didn't seem cartoony villainous like others have. They made me like them, then they died. I regret they only had one and a bit episodes before biting it. Maggie, Maggie, Maggie!! You a beast! Love it. Carol needs this breakdown, but I fear it means her death is the season finale. I do love Carol's maternal instincts but no one in their right mind should leave her alone with a child. Fight against the bad guy hurting the kids? Yes. Actually interact with the kids? HELL NO! After they said "we're all Negan" or whatever, I had a fun time creating acronyms.
  20. Paula, Paula, why didn't you run? Don't you know how deadly Carol is with a gun? Instead you found yourself sadly impaled. Bite after bite, your death entailed.
  21. Rick and Michonne, my one true pair. Jesus loves you, too, especially when bare. Rick likes to be covered in other men's blood. Michonne makes it in rivers, causing a flood. Does anyone remember Lori? The question should be asked. Now show us what we want, more Rickshonne ass.
  22. RICKSHONNE!! I Knew it as soon as we saw her in her bathrobe at the beginning. Rather interesting ending, eh? ;) I like this episode a lot. I think it was the perfect mix of playful and serious. This Jesus character is rather interesting. I can't feel him out. I feel like everything he says or does is a trap, but like Rick said, he hasn't really done anything that would be worrisome. I think I might call him Houdini Jesus, though, because he seems to be able to do crazy stunts. Carl and Judith are so adorable. I'm glad they did a small time jump, too. Poor Deanna. At least you can rest in peace. I was waiting for Carl to remind Michonne that he had to kill his own mother and that's why he helped Spencer. I was waiting for him and Enid to kiss or something in the woods. RIP truck o' supplies. You will be sorely missed.
  23. I love, love, LOVE this episode! It had everything I could ever want. When all hope is lost, just infuriate Rick and he'll get shit going. That opening! That explosion! I was cracking up at Abraham's "Who's Negan?" and then again when Daryl said something like "sorry that took so long". I was for sure that Sasha was going to eat it. I'm very glad she didn't. I was sad to see the Andersons die, especially the look in Ron's eyes as his brother and then his mother. That was heartbreaking. My sympathy ended when he raised his gun, though. I knew a split second before she did it that Michonne was going to kill him. No one messes with Michonne's babies. NO ONE! I foresee Maggie and Glenn adopting Enid. They all have a bond now from that whole ordeal. I thought Glenn was dead until Abe, Sasha, and Daryl showed up. I'm very confused about how Abe managed to nail all the walkers but not Glenn. I will have to ask my stepdad if it's that possible (he was in the Marines). Father Pee Pants (and many others!) redeemed himself! I was so surprised that Rick let him take Judith, but I guess that risk was much more preferable to the alternative. I'm still confused because I thought he was going to the church? Maybe I don't remember it correctly. The redemption of the Alexandrians was a good move because I no longer want all of them to die. I think we need that because I don't think it's going to be pretty when this Negan dude finds them. Hopefully, they'll be ok by then. I wonder who they'll send out to recruit people? Denise and the Wolf dude were so falling in love in a hopeless place. It was very strange. I didn't want the Wolf to die by the end, either, but it was definitely necessary. I wonder if we should put Denise in charge of de-brainwashing the remaining Wolves (if there are any). And it would be nice to have some sort of group or something that teaches people to live in society again whilst maintaining their intense survival instincts. Something like a less cheesy version of the classes the military makes soldiers returning home take. Lake of fire was cool. I cracked up at the one walker who just fell into the water. I love this show so much, mainly for the mood swings it has. I hope they can find more people. There needs to be kids in this world who actually survive. TL;DR - SpaghettiTuesdays thought pretty much everyone was going to die, but surprisingly few did.
