  1. At this point I don't know how he could figure it out. I know you're a big Iris fan, as I am, but think about it...Fake Iris has not really tipped her hand at all, except for Joe chastising her this episode for not being attentive. There's been no scenes other than Barry looking into the mirror strangely. Yeah, she could cook a few episodes back, but I never bought that Iris was a bad cook. That seemed to be a cute "newlywed" joke the writers saddled her with. Unless Fake Iris starts showing some serious uncharacteristic real Iris traits, there's no reason for Barry to be suspicious.
  2. I've got the all time classic Home Ec story. High school, freshman year, the old bat teacher (she had to have been 85) told us we had to do all our work in class because she could tell the difference in stitch if we took it home to work on. I didn't know anything about sewing and everyone in the class did, or said they did, so the teacher taught a more advanced class. All semester I did nothing but rip seams, because I kept sewing the wrong sides together. Nobody in my family knew how to sew nor anyone in the neighborhood, so one full semester went by and it was time to present our "creations". The teacher warned us if we didn't show up for class, no matter the excuse, we would get an "F". So one student after another goes up to her desk and she reviews their work, and praises them all to the heavens. Then comes me. My jumper had no armhole facing, no neck facing, no hem, and no zipper. All I did was stitch up the shoulders and the sides, LOL. She looks at it and says "What is this? What is THIS?" She kept rolling it in a ball and finally threw it back at me. Yeah, I still got the "F" AND I humiliated myself. It did work out for me by not staying home because I wound up with perfect attendance through high school...never missed a day all 4 years. I know it seemed like 20 years later I saw the teacher's obituary. Couldn't believe it. She had to be well over 100!
  3. And not every over 50 year old wants to look like a reject from a Hee Haw revival. I've gone over and over Sergio's collection, and I can only find 3 outfits that don't look like they should be sold at a discount barn in Branson, Missouri.
  4. Speaking of Christian, I've really liked the fact he was the mentor this season. I hope he stays on. To me it felt like Tim Gunn was phoning it in the last few years...like he became more important than the show. He also has a much sterner demeanor which could be intimidating to the designers. Christian struck a good balance of humor, creative insight and accessibility.
  5. Yeah, what was up with him? Whereas Amber looks like she just came from a spa, Barnett looks puffy and a little ... hangdog. He doesn't look like the experience was 100% positive for him a year and half later. She looks EXACTLY like Kate Upton. I wondered during all her drinking bouts if she realized that would not look good to current AND potential customers. Not smart. I am surprised, too. I just don't see a fit there. I can't figure Barnett out. I've worked with many engineers, and if he's a chemical/mechanical/electrical/civil type engineer, they are soooo anal. Very precise and detailed. He's kind of a blob. For a guy who is very popular with women, he doesn't seem to have much of a personality.
  6. That had to have been hard to watch. At times it was hard for me to watch. I do think she experienced some personal growth...or at least personal insight into her character. She did acknowledge that she drank way too much on the show, and that she had a tendency to go after guys that didn't seem interested in her. That's huge. Same with Kelly who said she seems to automatically put guys in the friend zone too soon. I was disappointed the most in Mark, who I really liked. Kenny seemed to be holding back, like he promised himself he wouldn't slam Kelly or reveal anything. But Mark still doesn't really think Jessica did anything wrong. Maybe he's just a really great guy and only looks at the best in people. I liked how Diamond presented herself at the reunion. She was classy. The short time she was on the show was more "I'm a prize...you better get down on your knees every day and thank God you were lucky enough to get me". She truly wants to find love and get married, and I hope she gets that opportunity.
  7. Brittany was behind her and had her hand covering her mouth in delighted surprise, so I'm thinking the winner was either Geoffrey or Nancy, with Victoria a possibility. Just the happy looks on all the former PR designers from present year and back tells me it wasn't Sergio.
  8. I have to disagree with you on that one, and it pains me to say it because I don't care for Sergio in the least. His creation from one of the first shows, where they had to make an outfit out of Christmas ornaments, wreaths, wrapping, etc., was incredible, probably one of my favorite designs from anybody all season.
  9. Because the show insists every guy has to put Kara/Supergirl on a pedestal and do nothing but praise and adore her.
  10. Totally have the opposite feeling. I try to FF his scenes whenever possible. Especially since they are showing flashbacks of his history. This just reminds me so much of Devoe and how that character took over the whole show, IMO.
  11. Which of the two women in the picture is Victoria's mother? And does anyone know the year(s) she was a DCC?
  12. Oh, sorry, LOL...what is the network name? I'm blanking on it.
  13. And while they are very pretty, so are almost all the women who have worn that uniform. Just off the top of my head I'd say KaShara is just as pretty as Meredith. Madeline, Bret, Julia...they were way more qualified than Kat and Meredith. So much has been said on the unfairness of this, but it was DCC and CW's decision to feature these two so much, and in doing so we all saw how really undeserving they were to even make it to TC. There's tons of girls who've made the team over the years that we didn't even know about, because CW never featured them. They should have followed that pattern with K&M. Does anyone else feel the show this season has gone on much longer than in previous years? This puppy should have ended at least 2 episodes ago. It seems there's been a lot of padding this time around.
  14. Kelly could have saved herself a lot of problems if she'd just called Julia into her office right after the media debacle, showed the tape, said it was unacceptable and that she was off the team. Bing, bang, boom...dust her hands off and one less person to worry about. Instead, she chickened out and called it a "teachable moment". Then threw that teachable moment right back in Julia's face a couple weeks later when she didn't have any real reasons to cut her. Shame on Kelli for that. Shame on the CW for their assist in trying to show Julia in a bad light. The CW has NEVER shown a candidate cursing...in fact to my recollection they've been meticulous in editing everything out that would allow the audience to be able to lipread anything the girls say to each other. I guess now the girls have to worry about that, too. LOL, I was going to use the term "gaslighting" when writing about how I feel Julia was treated by the show, but I wasn't sure of the definition so I googled it, and this picture popped up. Amazing resemblance of someone, dontcha think?
  15. There's been several times over the years I couldn't understand Kelly's picks and cuts, but there always seemed to be some logic to it even if I didn't like it. But this year, with Kat and especially Meredith, it's soooo obvious neither should have made it past the 3rd week of TC yet they are still here. Judy, to her credit, consistently calls them out on their mistakes. But I've never seen Kelly so "accommodating" to candidates that clearly don't have the right stuff. I like Kelly and feel she's a good person and just wants to field the best team possible. Of course she has favorites...we've seen that in the past. But to give these 2 women so many chances and extra training and excusing glaring and consistent problems...that I don't get. Especially with Meredith. It's just one mistake after another. She's awful on the field, bad with the media, and can't pose well for a decent picture. What's next...she forgets directions to the stadium on game day? Someone upstairs wants Meredith on the team. If so, why does CMT focus on her so much? You'd think the DCC would tell them to back off and ignore her like they've done with many rookies in the past. Why show all her problems and then...and this is not a spoiler cause I don't know...award her a spot on the team in the end?
  16. There's a time to be humble and wait for other people to sing your praises, and a time to stand up for yourself, and that's what I felt Shaina was doing. Maybe I read more into it, but to me that whole scene between her and Judy/Kelly was very interesting. It seemed meek, quiet little Shaina was calling them out on their b.s. "I KNOW I'm good enough to make the team"...her words. My interpretation? 'Don't give me that crap that this is my last night when you have two glaringly bad candidates (Meredith & Kat) still sitting on the field'. Shaina even somewhat scoffed at Kelly's explanation that she doesn't look good on the field, saying that's always been her strong suit. She stood up to Kelly, and Kelly wasn't expecting it. Shaina almost went too far, but recovered and kissed their butts at the end. Good move...if she wants to try out next year I don't think Kelly will hold it against her. To be honest, her movements weren't sharp and crisp even to my untrained eye, but 10 minutes with Judy would have fixed that. Kelly needed to find a "throwaway" to cut since she refuses to make the obvious choice(s), but she picked a rose with some spiky thorns...she's used to "yes-Ma'am-ing" and scared little rabbits. I never realized how beautiful Shaina was until last night...her eyes are gorgeous.
  17. Next to the Malena debacle last year, I think Kelly probably heard quite a bit about not giving any warnings to Lily before she cut her (I truly believe Kelly didn't even realize it). So this year Kelly felt bound to at least give Lily another shot. And to her credit, again IMO, Lily deserved it. Her dancing improved, and she completely changed her look (though I still think, even with the added DCC makeover, that she's way too blonde and it borders on brassy). But you are right that Kat and Meredith appear to be Kelly's favorites and she's kept them even though they don't deserve it. Who's the lock? Pretty sure it's Kat. Kat is all show and mostly no substance, and Judy knows it and Kelly knows it, but higher ups want her so that's why Kelly keeps overlooking mistake after mistake. That answers the Kat question, but still don't get what they see in Meredith.
  18. Wasting our time is right. They went overboard on this. I was never impressed with Kitty and don't miss her a bit, but just once I wanted someone to say what I was saying out loud at home when Kelly excitedly announced another choreographer......."WHO?" On a stand-alone basis, each of them were pretty good, but there were way too many. It seemed like filler. Of the 3 women who have had the most focus on them this season (Kat, Meredith, and to a lesser extent Lily), it is Lily I really hope makes the team. After being cut on the last day of training with no prior critiques, she is gun-shy. If she is selected to the team, she will get a huge boost of confidence and I think her "frozen face" will disappear.
  19. I have watched from the beginning, and IMO neither Kat or Meredith would have made it past the 3rd week of training camp on any other season. Kelly really did look like she was going to cut Kat last night and backed off. There was no other reason to bring Kat in to the office for the third time unless it was to cut. Meredith is very pretty, but so is Kat, and so are so many of the girls they discarded over the years without a second look. If she's such a great dancer, even without cheer/pom training, she still should have caught on by now. Her constant failure to remember routines and even admitting numerous times on camera that her mind went blank makes me question how great a dancer could she be? I cannot believe these two might make the team, but as a long time viewer, I see the pattern coming on. Constant criticism and calling into the office for Meredith and Kat. No office visits or criticisms for 5 weeks for Julia or Lisa...now getting called in for some tiny mistake. And then boom...they're gone. Hope not, but it's Kelly's M.O.
  20. Could not agree more. I too have watched from the beginning, and IMO neither of these women would have made it past the 3rd week of training camp on any other season. Kelly really did look like she was going to cut Kat last night and backed off. There was no other reason to bring Kat in to the office for the third time unless it was to cut. Meredith...what can I say that hasn't already been said? Well that ain't gonna stop me. She is very pretty, but so is Kat, and so are so many of the girls they discarded over the years without a second look. If she's such a great dancer with no cheer/pom training, she still should have caught on by now. Her constant failure to remember routines and even admitting numerous times on camera that her mind went blank makes me question how great a dancer could she be? I cannot believe these two might make the team, but as a long time viewer, I see the pattern coming on. Problems, problems, problems for Meredith...ditto Kat. Nothing for 5 weeks for Julia or Lisa...now getting called in for some tiny mistake. And then boom...they're gone. Hope not, but it's Kelly's M.O.
  21. Amen to that. Kara's ish? What is anish, LOL? I enjoyed Mon-El's portion of the show, and especially enjoyed Winn finally getting something to do. Good scene between Kara and Mon-El on the balcony. Oh, and did anyone else think that brief scene btwn James and Kara was going to address their never-talked-about feelings from Season 1? Fooled again, though I thought they had the perfect opportunity. Just a few sentences was all they needed to put that puppy to bed once and for all, but still not happening. I felt really let down with this latest installment of the Reign saga. It's not that I care about the character, because I just don't think the writers have done a good job telling her story at all all. But just when all her boring backstory progresses to a boiling point with her own little Fortress, her body or mind or whatever is now taken over instead of watching her fight it. Now she's the villian all of a sudden. Why the hell did they waste our time...they should have just made her that in the first place, with just a little scene here or there of backstory. Didn't need 7 episodes to get us there.
  22. Agree, Tofutan, that the show just isn't cohesive. I hate to say that given we've only seen 5 episodes, but it is what it is. I loved episode 1, and Psi was a great villain in episode 2, but then there was The Mars episode, which to me was an epic fail. I'm sorry, I can't get excited that the writers decided to give a big part to an underused character (J'onn) when the story was dull and uninspired. And on top of that, Dad's been MIA since, so what was the point? When the best thing about that episode is the car, you've got a problem. While the Supergirl cult had good acting and was different, the story didn't have any legs. Turned out nobody was really a bad guy, they were just misguided. That's great on other shows, but on a show based on a comic book hero, you have to have a strong bad guy, even if it's just the bad guy of the week. Like......Morgan Edge. Monday's episode was much better than the last two, and I liked the fact that they addressed possible problems (lead poisoning) from season 2 finale, but out of all the huggy feely female stuff and supposed bonding and women all working together that they beat us over the head with (though I understand the Maggie/Alex part since she was leaving the show), it was the bad dude, Morgan Edge, that IMO made the biggest impression. That scene where he went nose to nose with Supergirl and made her blink was really cool.
  23. I'm looking forward to his return...anything but more Ruby. Curiously though, I'm not seeing all the other characters getting much more to do since Mon-El is out of the picture. And that's what so many were griping about all last year. I know it was only episode 4, but we haven't really seen Kara at CatCo since episode 1. Last episode to me is better off forgotten, as even though J'onn got a lot to do, he went back to being window dressing last night. And his dad was on even less. Winn and James were in and out of scenes a lot, and James had a big pointless scene about Superman saving him, but in the long run there has been no character development for either of them. And it's disappointing to me that they even brought up the Guardian again. Leave that dead puppy alone. And after a great first episode for Lena, she's either MIA since then or propping up Sam and her daughter, which is so absurd for the head of a major corporation. The only stories they seem to be focusing on right now are breaking up Maggie & Alex and the latter getting baby fever which is pointing directly at Ruby, and building up Reign, which should be further along than it is. Lena watching her CFO (!!!) breaking down in tears about her wittle gurl being unhappy was soooooooooooo pathetically bad. And then showing up at her recital? OMG...what have they reduced her to? No...sorry....now I'm convinced it wasn't more Mon-El that caused everyone else to move to the background. He's out of the picture, and they are STILL in the background.
  24. I'd say she went past the hilt and a little over the top. She was probably directed to be very emotional, but for the character Alex Danvers to completely break down like that in public...I didn't buy it.
  25. LOL, Terra. As a blackjack dealer for a dozen or so years, I know for a fact they would have been all over that chick. Especially when she was winning so much as the craps table. No way would they have allowed her to be blowing on the dice or kissing them. Those dice would have been pulled and replaced with fresh ones, again and again, cause they would be looking for loaded dice.
