  1. That's probably why they need to 'audition' them....to weed out those people.
  2. Because there was no group until he found Rick and Co.?
  3. Would have made more sense if they'd sent someone like Rick (clean, of course) and an older man, such as Hershel. Had to be a lot of people at first, but I doubt that there's a large community now. I don't like the sound of auditioning. If they don't take all of Rick's group, there will be a problem. Judith would not be able to eat the acorn meat, chewed or not. Acorns are edible, but they are very stringent and boiled water has to be poured over the ground acorns before they can be eaten.
  4. Which makes me think that there aren't that many people in that so-called community. I would think they would have sent scouts that looked strong and tough. Instead these guys look like they couldn't handle a weapon, let alone kill a walker. As to the sound of children playing, that could have been a set-up with a loudspeaker playing a tape. I just don't see a huge group of people living in Alexandria. Aaron and Erik were scouting for people to make a community, and Rick and family were the protection they need. He freaked out because he knew Erik was in trouble.
  5. I still like him.....and so does Anna, of course. They really are sweet together. Just blame Fellowes for writing this ridiculous Greene murder plot.
  6. Considering Mary's nasty personality, I think the severe haircut suits her perfectly. How do we know that she hasn't been making frequent trips to London to keep an eye on the business for her then missing lover? I would think Edith would be much happier in London working in the business and making new friends and, basically, having a life. However, she probably wants Marigold to be included in her family in York where she has cousins. Edith could always take the train to London for a few days every couple of weeks, knowing that her daughter is happy and well taken care of. I think Penelope Wilton did a great job showing her humiliation, while maintaining her pose. She really didn't need to say a work. My bet is that she will not marry Lord Merton.
  7. Me too. Lovely smile with a twinkle in his eyes (sigh). Unfortunately, we haven't seen much of that smile this series. Hoping Series 6 will find a happier Mr. and Mrs. Bates.
  8. I don't see that happening that way. Edith would want to feed Marigold herself, and I think she would then maybe sing her to sleep. She would want to cherish every moment until Marigold was safely asleep.....then Edith would enjoy her glass (or two) of champagne. Probably the hotel in London. She would want to have a room ready when she arrived with Marigold.
  9. Going to Washington makes no sense to me. Even if the city has largely cleared out, there's bound to be a huge amount of zombies wandering around or trapped in buildings. California weather would be best, but it's way too far for them to travel. Instead of going north, they should have headed south to the Gulf where they could find some boats and go fishing. Certainly, there would have been some place in one of the Gulf states to settle, make a home, plant crops. And the winters wouldn't be as harsh as up north. Not enough Daryl (one little scene?) last night for me.
  10. To me, Cora always is a bit flirty with everyone. I guess its the way she poses her head.......slightly bent down, eyes raised and that timid little smile. She always looks like that unless she's upset about something. I can see how a man could consider that as flirting.
  11. I thought it was a note from Cora, saying what? I don't know. But after he looked at it, his eyes lifted to Cora standing at her bedroom (?) window, looking down at him. That would be my guess. She looks to be the same size as my grandson, who is 3. She's certainly no longer a baby. I think the whole purpose of the Bunting character was to remind Tom that he is a socialist and will probably never believe any differently. He loves the Crowleys, but he can never be content living as one of them. Do Isabel and Violet have dinner at DA every night? It seems like every dinner is an occasion for the entire family to get together, not just Robert, Cora and the daughters.
  12. Actually, the actress just turned 47, and I think Baxter is probably about the same age.
  13. If the series continues into the 30s, I doubt that Violet would still be alive. I think it would make more sense to have a funeral for her (at age 100) than Robert.
  14. I thought that was O'Brien, Thomas's partner in crime.
  15. You mean Thomas? No, just trying turn himself straight. Poor man, it won't work. Me too. They have so much in common and no complications like Lord Merton's sons.
  16. Well, I meant her clothes, but I guess her diaphragm could be included in that. I think that's one thing she HAS to do herself.
  17. Why must Mary wed either Tony or Blake? It's pretty obvious that she doesn't love Tony and is willing to settle. That would make a pretty miserable marriage. Are there no other single 30ish men of some wealth in the north of England? I think the most interesting part of Episode 3 was the missing Thomas. What's his story? I doubt if his father is sick. Cora STILL has not made up her mind about Baxter..... Yes she did. She's letting her stay. There's little doubt Bates killed Green, Really? I agree with another poster who thinks Bates is just a red herring. So, I guess Bates is an accused murderer...again? Accused? He wasn't arrested, so maybe just a suspect. Poor Anna is going to get beaten by Bates. Was this a poor attempt at a joke? He worships Anna and would never physically harm her. I'm as tired of this Green death story as anyone else . Bates is not a bad man. He has spent years in prison twice for crimes he didn't commit. He's fought for his country, survived years with the horrid Vera, and now has a loving marriage. Come on, Fellowes, let him and Anna have some peace. Mary dressed herself that entire week? Does she really know how?
  18. Thanks to everyone who answered my question. I had forgotten about Madge, the one who is never shown.
  19. Question: Is Anna solely Mary's maid or does she also tend to Edith and Rose? The only lady's maids we see are Anna and Baxter, but certainly Edith and Rose don't dress themselves (horrors!), do they?
  20. Daisy is autistic??? What are the signs?
  21. I hope you're joking. There has never been any proof that Bates killed anyone, including Vera. If it was condoms that she bought and not a diaphragm, it would have been a package of several. Condoms aren't sold as only one.
  22. The plan to have a nice dinner, then return to "make love all night" doesn't sound very romantic when it's described that way. More like a chore to be endured. Isn't making love supposed to be spontaneous when you're in the mood? I felt so sorry for Anna. Now I suppose she and Bates will stop at that pharmacy to buy something else and that rude clerk will say something about that purchase. It was none of her business why Anna was buying the condoms or diaphragm. Horrid name for that child. If they wanted to name her after a flower, they should have chosen one that smelled good. I don't believe Mary is really turned on by either of them, and I think that perfect man is still waiting in the wings. I think she's probably three. Maybe Tony, but Mrs. Hughes would never murder someone. I think that look of concern was for Bates and Anna. If Anna and Bates are spending their time in bed doing that it's no wonder she hasn't gotten pregnant. Chatting about their jobs isn't my idea of foreplay.
  23. Bates isn't evil. He didn't kill the nasty Vera, and I do not believe he killed Greene, although he may have thought about it and decided that if he were caught, it would hurt Anna. I've been a Bates/Anna shipper since Season 1 and I really want them to be happy, have a couple of kids and buy that small hotel he talked about. I hope Fellowes writes that for them in the final season.
  24. Didn't Mariah says it's Cassie's birthday when she was in front of her grave? Did Sharon and Nick forget this event that they celebrate every year? Probably too mad at each other to remember.
