  1. The last sentence was more a reflection on the owners' well documented ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
  2. Although the PAC is named "Elect Alicia Florrick", it's not necessarily directly funding her campaign. It's an independent source of money that should, at least, not have any contact with the actual election committee. She would do well to disavow that particular PAC as soon as possible, and make sure none of its money filters into her campaign. She could also score points by pointing out the effect of anonymous money on campaigns, implying the Castro campaign is even dirtier. One would think that Eli and, as such, Peter, would be well aware of the staged DUI stop, and Peter would then have Castro on the carpet explaining what he was doing. Somewhat different circumstances, but several years ago in Sacramento, two CHP officers were allegedly targeting state lawmakers who left the bars and headed down I-80. The legislators complained about the unfair treatment, and probably made noises about how the legislature actually determines the CHP budget. The two officers suddenly found themselves transferred to other, less problematic postings.
  3. Pssst, Hermann. Opportunity is knocking here. Buy the water back from the chief, sell it through the coach. Good profit, Steady supply, goodwill restored, what's to lose? Don't answer that.
  4. And as a hardass attorney on both The Good Wife and Franklin & Bash. At the same time, although not the same character. I took an MMPI once. As I remember, it required about 3 hours of my time. 400 questions. Kudos to Reddington: "I would never, EVER, put someone in Solvang!" I also liked Liz detailing her proposed punsihment to her husband Tom. But she wouldn't really do that. She said.
  5. There does seem to dearth of Presidential activity around these seemingly critical world events. This ain't Scandal. Not yet, anyway. In this universe things always get wrapped up in 47 minutes. I had to laugh at the smackdown Miss Noble College Dropout got. You want to find yourself? Your sister has the directions. Now, the both of you sit down and start learning to live together.
  6. There are a few loopholes in the actual event, if one wished to pry deeply enough. For instance, the other truck, initially even with T81 and one or two blocks over, somehow gains enough distance in the space of a few blocks to turn a corner, get back up to speed, and collide with T81. The cabover design of both trucks would mean that Welsh, as well as Molina, should have suffered grievous injuries. Most metro FDs now have vehicle locators on their equipment that will transmit location and speed back to the computer monitor, so the investigators would have a pretty good idea of what happened at the intersection. No matter. The episode was really about the aftermath of the accident and the repercussions. Mostly I thought the did a fair job of addressing that.
  7. Why, PeterMIlls' family, of course! What better way to bring in more relationship drama, and maybe even a very special episode involving the roach coach, the drug gangs, a Chicago PD crossover, or maybe even a fire or another accident?
  8. The dog is currently doing voiceover work for an upcoming remake of Must Love Dogs, and will be unavailable for a few episodes. All this time I thought it was Mrs. Kaplan, which always intrigued me as to how she (now he) came into Reddington's orbit. Also the character is played by an actress.
  9. I also got a kick out of Otis's (aka Moustache) reaction to his driving assignment. "Really? I'm the driver now? (big smile). I mean, it's okay, Cruz, everything will turn out okay"
  10. More on the red light question. Most departments have a policy that says the engine will not enter the intersection faster than it can be stopped, even in Code 3 situations (the "controlled stop". Having said that, I too can attest to the fact that engines routinely blow through red lights at speed. My department basically says that any accident is the operator's fault until proven otherwise. A slowed down playback of that accident indicates that T81 did indeed have the green, but, really, both drivers are equally at fault here. And Chief was right: "Shut up, don't say another word, get your representative here." ETA: PeterMills wants to be a medic now? How convenient. Do we have room enough at the firehouse for another drama-filled romance on the ambulance?
  11. I rather liked that exchange: "You're right about that" "But you're wrong about this" "You're wrong about me being right but you're right about the wrong thing" Or something like that. That had to be the world's slowest motorcycle for Keen and Ressler to catch up on foot. I'll never understand the trope of the guy fleeing looking back to see if the pursuers are still in pursuit. This time it cost him. The machinations of Reddington and Co. are starting to get to me. One of the things that drove me away from Revenge was the impossibly complicated series of events that would occur, and at the end Amanda would nod and say "That's exactly how I planned it". Same here.
  12. It would really suck if the prosecution actually had Bishop's lieutenant/CI in protective custody while railroading Cary at the same time. That's probably highly unethical/illegal, but those standards haven't stopped many people on this show yet.
  13. There is actually a factual basis for that lawsuit. Monsanto sued a farmer for replanting their GMO seed that he had gathered at harvest time, instead of buying new seed at the beginning of the planting season. I don't know the outcome, but it's not really germane to this episode anyway. I liked the juxtaposition of attorneys pulling biblical quotes, one after another, out of the hat instead of obscure legal decisions. Same court, different location.
  14. Showrunners, a little more (maybe a lot more drama) and a lot less Hallmark-happy-ending-every-time writing. PLEASE. If I were the SoS and running with that grade swap idea, I would just go to the school staff (they're probably ex-CIA too) and have them change the grade at the end of the semester. Tell hubby about it afterward. No need to poke holes in his precious ethics balloon. And by the way, spying can be effected in many ways and places, Madam Secretary. Such as long distance surveillance dishes aimed at an unsecured residence, so to speak. I take offense at that! I don't know where you got that information, because that fountain is nowhere near city hall! Ms. Huffy Reporter just lost her seat on the White House Press Corps.
  15. The recent PBS series on the Roosevelts had an amazing tidbit. As most everyone now knows, FDR was paralysed and had to be carried from his car to his wheelchair. Even the public was prohibited from photographing him at this time, and if citizens were witnessed doing so, the Secret Service confiscated their cameras and destroyed the film.
  16. I think the barroom scene was meant to show that alcohol played a large part in the process. Regarding Abby's turn as Presidential Press Secretary, I know that her off-hand comment stirred some consternation in the WH staff, but, really, show? In real life, I would think that a Press Secretary who made a joke out of mental illness and jabbed at a member of the White House Press Corps would be savaged in the press the next day. Her credibility would be ruined, even with the apology. She doesn't get to be OPA Abby anymore. She has a real job now.
  17. On a side note, I liked Swede Gunderson's appearance a lot more when he had his Mormon beard on. Right now he looks like an extra from The Walking Dead. Also got a chuckle out of Huntington's remark about his Norwegian name, and Gunderson's surprised reaction.
  18. All right, Church Lady! The sermon next week will be "An eye for an eye". Did they whiten her face up a bit for that scene? She looked positively ghostly, as in Angel of Death. When Ezra went missing, I was almost sure that Sidney had taken him for use as a hostage. Tough end for the boy; and now we won't have the confrontation with him and Gunderson. Obviously TV Brigham Young knows what's going on with him (I use that moniker because I have no idea what his actual character was like). What specifically did Eva's victim do to her? Not that I'm defending him, I've just forgotten the character.
  19. Who's running this hospital? Maybe it's Dr. ManPain from "The Night Shift". He would fit right in.
  20. I gave it the standard 3 episode tryout, and I guess I'm just not part of the desired demographic. I can't quite get into the "My So-Called Life in the Hospital" vibe with some of the characters. A tip o' the hat and thank you, ma'am. Good luck.
  21. Curious case of life imitating art with the arrest of Carlos Bertran Leyva today in Mexico.
  22. My God, is Linder some kin to Hank? I'm glad he let it go, in the end. Robles is not the kind that can hide from his own. I expected Eleanor's father to be much more ragged and weak. Why would he have glasses after all this time? And she should have been able to roll him right over. In the end, this season was about hubris. The DEA guy wanting his place in the sun. Buckley thinking he was in charge of everything. Fausto thinking he could get away with it all this time. Robles thinking he was untouchable. Daniel thinking...well, he wasn't doing much thinking at all. I wonder if TPTB are planning the third season around Cerisole and the female CIA station chief. That opening sequence with Hank at the truck was a nail-biter. I was sure that he was going to take one in the chest. At least he didn't flinch when the time came. Sonya, on the other hand, leads with her head, like Ryan Hardy from The Following. Nice ending shot of the bridge.
  23. He has had some good training, after all.
  24. It was fairly tall grass out on the plain, so he could be hiding relatively close, still well armed, and waiting till Bohannen's men leave to pick up and go wherever he's going. I sensed that Bohannen was not to keen on chasing after him through that tall grass. I don't care what her sexual orientation is; if Louise's motive was anything other than distraction to enable Bohannen's plot to move forward, I have lost all respect for her. I wonder what the circulation of the Cheyenne Leader is. It strikes me as somewhat superfulous to publish a story about "A Known Killer Hired as Marshal" in a small town where pretty much everyone is already well aware of that fact.
  25. I would almost bet that someone at the bank would be leaking that information as soon as the papers came back, too. Peter is capable of self-preservation, to say the least. I can suggest a new client for Florrick Agos now. The owner of the previous office building that David Lee shanked by claiming it was infested and in need of fumigation. They could sue the former firm (what is it now, Manning, Lee, and Associates?) for defamation.
