I'm beginning to think Whoopi is there more for something else than the paycheck this season. IMO she was definitely threatened by Rosie in the sense RO was creative in what she wanted from the show in the way of guests/stories/fun etc.......something WG just doesn't bring to the show. Plus as many people that didn't "like" Rosie.....as many adored her, imo. Me included. PLUS RO stood up to WG......and really, in retrospect no co-hosts (other than Walters) did stand up against WG. But BW was the boss and most likely why WG would say she was there for the paycheck. And I think her morning nap, lol. I liked WG's little tours around NYC.....and those are long gone. I don't even think she is really pulling in the guests either. Sigh

One thing is a sure thing for me - don't ever believe anything Professor Perez says in her presentations. To simplify there are two polar vortices on our planet Earth. At the North Pole, and the South Pole. Not one Rosie. The Polar Vortex was first described in 1853. And this is basic info from Wiki. I know, Wiki....but I think it is more accurate than Professor Perez albeit not the best source to go to.

Let's see here..... Padma...Star Trek was not the first martian tv show - try My Favorite Martian which started 3 years prior to Trek. And then later Padma defers to WG when it comes to comedy. Sigh WG -"see my middle finger." She thinks her raunchy comedy is hilarious. WG and RP - Aerosol cans were banned in 1978 that contained chlorofluorocarbons as the propellant. Modern sprays do not contain known ozone depleting substances. NW - Law and Order is no longer being filmed, they stopped several years ago. Unless she is thinking LaO/SVU. Who knows......and why do I even care?

I saw the episode today....french onion soup in bread bowls and layered salad. And no bake cookies for dessert. The layered salad was semi interesting although nothing I would make.....it had romaine, chopped eggs, red onions, bacon and peas and grape tomatoes. Topped with cut up pork chops?! Dressing on the side (blue cheese). But not made the night before. I suppose I prefer the 7 layer traditional.....her hers with chicken or steak instead of pork chops....but I'll never know for sure. She did seem a tad toned down.

Very interesting....and I am coming around to that opinion as well. The View is under the news division rather than entertainment division now. And as such they sure aren't even working on presenting factual topics let alone allowing so much incorrect information that is so obviously not based on the facts. The panelist's views of course doesn't enter here.....but when they are based on incorrect facts presented they need to be addressed. All of the other talk shows (Kelly and Michael (although syndicated) and The Chew, ie get the A and B listers as guests. Although I don't regularly watch The Talk on CBS they do know how to do a talk show with differing opinions and a little fun too. And I will throw in one EP has already left, and I am surprised the other (Wolf) is still there. Perhaps he has been promised better things in the future by ABC. Afterall he was EP of the Rachel Maddow show. TV does love to promote ABC shows and "stars" so perhaps that is one reason to keep the show on this season......plus they need time to revamp that hour for an extended GMA or new show. As far as I am concerned WG has changed dramatically this season.

Well......I am battered and bruised after watching toda'ys show. Self inflicted since I keep wanting to stop watching and can't. WG sucked joy when she screamed "if you don't know how to do a joke....them don't tell them." Like REAL comics are the only one's allowed to "do" a joke. Not that I watch Rancic on E! or the Fashion Police but seems to me she has apologized and I thought their clip of GR was sincere. Good grief - let it go! Then WG tells us dreads are not allowed in the military. Evidently they are according to several people on the shows fb. But they must be tight on their head while on duty in order for helmets to fit properly, etc. The RP...."people do not give to public education." Note to RP - are you familiar with property taxes? Even if you rent you can be sure your landlord has included pt into your rent check. And a lot of people volunteer at schools. My niece recently raised enough money to fund desks for a classroom in her area (and she doesn't even have kids). When 1st elected Obama wanted to fund infrastructure including fed roads and local state roads, bridges, etc since it was needed and also importantly it would provide jobs which we so desperately needed. He was blocked over and over by the GOP. I thought the little kid models were just creepy with their makeup and hair. Off to tend to my my wounds......

Good grief.....do these reviewers every watch the show? Human Rights Activist Education Substance Abuse Goodwill Ambassador to the UN Let's see here...sure she has worked for these issues but come on. She is against so many human rights when it involves a celebrity....think rape-rape, Mel Gibson, Vicks, ....I could go on and on. She doesn't really value education.....she didn't need it. Why should any one else seems to be her take. Substance abuse....would that be Cosby slipping so many women drugs....let alone trying to rape them? Can't remember the last time she went on a tour for the UN. With her threats and not caring what we think does not make her a legend - just a bully.

I think the producers wanted WG (the moderator) to either move on to another topic or break and she basically told them to shove off as she taught us about something. IIRC pot? And refused to follow directions.

IIRC I think she has said it in past years. Evidently she was in Banff, Alberta over the weekend so perhaps that is why she missed watching the Oscars. But very odd that she did not offer an explanation.

WG screams 'DO A LITTLE HOMEWORK YOURSELVES!!!!!!' and lectures us after RP tells us Puerto Ricans pay fed taxes and can vote for reps to Congress. PR's do pay taxes in PR....just not fed taxes. Unless they live IN the USA. Since PR is a territory (not a property RP) they cannot vote for fed elections. Unless they live IN the USA. How can they vote for a Rep or Senator when they aren't a state in PR? IOW - there is a huge difference between a PR living in PR vs one living in the USA. And Rosie doesn't even know the difference. She sure seemed able to convince the panel though. WG is absolutely unbearable.

Their table is ridiculous.....I'm thinking they thought an oak table is women gathering about a kitchen table chatting over coffee. Except theirs has a drop leaf bigger than the table with their logo in blue and white in a circle.....and chrome curved legs. Rather than a curved table in good taste. BUT then we get WG's purple throne and her "subjects" office chairs in chrome and black. Not sure actually because they are smaller.......

I surfed into the Oscars last night occasionally and followed comments on this site. But by the time 11am EST I was totally caught up on different takes on it as well as clips from other shows. I would think WG would have watched it since she once hosted it, has an Oscar, and is therefore an Academy Member that (may or may not have voted, evidently). Why can't these women prepare for the show and the HT's....they have plenty of time before 11a to do this? And all the resources including assistants and producers. I don't watch The Talk regularly but did today and their take on the Oscars was civilized as well as informed and even fun. Can't even begin to go there on Stacy London except to say for such a tall, slim woman she sure takes up a lot of space......and attempts for camera time.

OTOH I think either Bow or Dre should have planted a seed with Zoey.....ie I wonder why he said that? And then gone on to something else. Like the grilled cheese!

The way guests were badgered in the last 5 or 6 years I don't blame them for not coming on. They need not asked about personal things, asked to perform like a monkey, fawned and pawed over. I always thought BW went in for the kill asking them about personal things in their real lives ubrelated to what they were there for to promote, and others like SS swooning and dropping her uterus over how sexy they were. IOW - they abused their guests. Kelly and Regis/Michael, Ellen and the Chew are a soft place to be to promote something professional they are doing. This show is not. The only exception I can think of is an author coming on. It never occurred to the co-hosts that had kids in their homes at the time and never acknowledged having a nanny or two that to play the as a single mother card was stupid in their case. Even after A and B stars would come on and say basically they had a village (help). After the pleading question from a co-host HOW DO YOU DO IT!? Not that it would necessarily be a walk in the park.......but admitting having help is not a sin. Especially with so many women/single men doing it alone working several jobs without any. The guests could see that, those co-hosts - not.

Padma has a pleasant voice and laugh, unlike Nicolle and Rosie P - and didn't seem to rely on blue cards. And so true - well rounded Medicine Crow. I could get back to regular watching with most of the panel being adults and not being a buffoon, or know it all, or cackeling, or not getting their point across well. Can we really be 8 months away from a whole new panel? And a co-host working 3 days a week? Bad enough to have revolving co-hosts and BW dragging herself in let alone the show being taped days ago on Fri.
