  1. Sorry to post this here, but I don't know where it should go: Why are there gaps sometimes between posts in the Forums?
  2. Any time Danny doesn't appear in the storyline, that improves the episode. ETA, as the central story, that is.
  3. And Grover didn't even tell him that he recognized him because he's from Chicago. He went on about how he's with 5-0. What does that have to do with the Bears? Another weird and irrelevant athletic cameo.
  4. "We've got Steve and Alisha; they're okay." NO they're not!! They've both been stabbed in the back. By what standard is that okay? Steve is still recuperating, supposedly. Then the two of them, just stabbed with a chef's knife no less, climb out of a slippery, rocky passage after almost drowning, but don't seem worse for wear other than being a tad tired. No one notices they have holes in their backs and are bleeding?
  5. As far as that poetry book goes, A) Did Jack ask his wife where she got that book and why? I can see that he would agree with his wife to change the baby's name, glad that it might snap her out of her depression about losing the triplet, but wouldn't he wonder how she happened to be fascinated with that particular name and book? B) If Rebecca gave that book of Randall's poetry to her son and he kept it, wouldn't he have asked her what it was about that poet that lead her to name him after an obscure African American poet that few white people would have heard of?
  6. Thank you! I figured it was Pittsburgh from the black and gold infant blankets, but everyone has been saying Philadelphia. If Randall is in New York/ New Jersey now, the family could have moved, just as his siblings are now in L.A.
  7. This a drama, not a documentary. Who expected the president to decide to run as an independent to keep Madam Secretary as SoS? Maybe the writers will come up with a way he'll win. The GOP candidate dies before the election. The Washington Post comes up with damning recordings by the GOP candidate, the Independent candidates campaign clicking.... Who knows. They haven't held the convention yet, have they, just the primaries?
  8. What Jamie needs is a promotion.
  9. I had trouble with the funeral, too. The president has just been assassinated along with much of the rest of the government. And the new president doesn't speak, at the request of the son? This is not just a family event. This is a state funeral. Kirkham should have spoken. It was also mind boggling that Aaron released the video and has put the nation in danger, he can't be trusted, he's lied to him and yet Kirkham keeps him on as CoS. I understand that Kirkham's assistant might not have the experience to be Chief, but these aren't the only two people from which to choose. And we don't even know yet what the mysterious exchange on the bridge is about. Not a smart move, Mr. President.
  10. I'm not missing Tony, but I thought that when they were trying to figure out the name of the movie, McGee or Bishop would have said, "Tony would know what film that was."
  11. Reporters -- top or not -- would have been watching in their studio, too. They wouldn't have been at the Capitol.
  12. Tom87: "Hitting isn't a skill women couldn't do proficiently due to physicality." Oh, really? Maybe a woman her size can't hit like Big Papi or even like Bumgarner, but neither do most pitchers. If she can get down a bunt from time to time when it's called for, they'll be happy. This show reminds be of "Designated Survivor." You have a lead character trying to fit into an unusual and difficult situation, facing lots of opposition from inside and out. How will they overcome this and persevere? Sure, both situations require a certain "willing suspension of disbelief," but they're fictional works, not documentaries.
  13. As I understood it, the aide told Kirkham that he was going to be replaced AFTER the State of the Union speech. He was still a cabinet member and in line of succession at the time of the speech.
  14. Was that an episode of Blackish or a Disney informercial? (Guess it was both.) Why would a family in L.A. fly cross country to go to Disney World? I like this show, but Dre's juvenile behavior episode after episode really drags the show down, IMHO. And what kind of parent doesn't notice that his child lost her glasses and can't see?
  15. So a psychologist and his team don't just advise the high-powered, high priced attorney, they RUN the case. They interview potential jurors; they dress the defendant; they prepare the client how to act and plead without consulting his attorney. They even interview witnesses. They play the lead attorney's assistant against the lead. They don't just have an alternate jury, they are running their own trial. While a team like Dr. Bull's could be very useful, the would work FOR the lead attorney, advising him, not TELLING a former Attorney General what to do. And as for the poor associate having to drag all the trial material into the courtroom, there are no paralegals and clerks on the defense team?
  16. The scene where Noah offers pot to Jude and Jude, although he knows he's not supposed to, seems unable to say no to pot and then walks away with Noah, almost as if he is already stoned. It seemed like a scene out of the cult classic "Reefer Madness."
  17. None of Brandon's family and friends -- other than Lena -- know about the SAT test, right? It's going to be interesting how he explains to everyone that he isn't in fact going to Julliard. I suppose he can lie again and say the college made the mistake. Did he even apply to another school? And wouldn't they learn about his cheating, too? Maybe he can get his job back as a pianist in the cocktail lounge. And isn't Callie also a senior? There hasn't been any talk about her going to college.
  18. Speaking about keeping secrets, why hadn't Lena and Steph spoken with Mike about Callie and Brandon sleeping together? I think it was very irresponsible of them not to share this information with him about his son.
  19. I think Frankie's difficulties retaining information have more to do with the amount of drugs she's consumed than her age.
  20. When Tali said "Kelev," Tony and his father said, "Oh, her stuffed toy is named Caleb." No, Kelev is the word for dog in Hebrew. She was asking for her dog, whatever its name is. Like when she pointed to the photo and said Abba and Imah.
  21. You think a civilian landing a plane on the beach! (and then donating part of a liver!) would have garnered more attention and praise than all the accolades Steve received. Danny's daughter didn't even seem to be aware of her dad's landing a plane on a public beach, an astonishing feat that surely would have been covered on all the news stations. National as well as local, no doubt. I agree with previous posters that it was odd that no one on the beach paid any attention to the tsunami siren, but then again, I kept yelling at the TV through both episodes - "That doesn't make any sense! This isn't realistic! That wouldn't have happened that way!" Mrs. Buckboard kept saying, we don't watch this show for realistic procedurals or for that matter, realism.
  22. Gerard Hirsch's father, Leo Hirsch, was played by Elliott Gould, not Judd Hirsch. Willie Garson, who has played the son in several episodes, is the actor who was on SATC.
  23. Madame Secretary Madame Vice President. or, if something happens to POTUS, Madame Vice President Madame President. I'd rather Elizabeth remains SoS, unless she winds up as president. (Don't know that I'd like that.) What story lines would the VP have? When I go to the funeral for the King of Sweden, can I stop off in Oxford and see Stevie? Or do I fly straight to Stockholm? Decisions, decisions.
