  1. You take it on a case by case basis. Poussey's death very clearly WAS an accident. I think you are right that she is not lying, but is instead just mistaken, which I can understand.
  2. Yes, exactly. Murder is a very specific term, and I always thought it was clear that murder was intentional, in a moral sense as well as a legal sense. What Bayley did was 2nd degree (involuntary) manslaugter at worst. Involuntary because the victim didn't provoke him; she was just kinda in the wrong place at the wrong time. Things were getting chaotic in the prison, and in the course of trying to contain it he caused an inmate to die. I can forgive Taystee for being a bit irrational, since a close friend just died only a few days prior. It bothers me that nobody says anything different at any point though. It also bothers me that this is similar to real life cases where people who should be much more cool headed (didn't know the victim), make the same false accusation.
  3. I keep finding myself on the side of the "Zombie Truthers" and was sad to see so many die and one end up infected. Zombies are all carrying a dangerous, highly contagious disease.
  4. I don't get why the people in Titan waited for The Witness for so long. If they have a time traveling city, they could have gone to 12-26-1959 at any point. It would have made sense if The Witness actually returned to Titan. Instead, Titan came to The Witness.
  5. I miss the days when TV schedules were predictable. A show started in September/October, then ran until May.
  6. My Sleep Styler arrived yesterday, after ordering on March 7th. Of course I'm not at all upset that it took so long. The Shark Tank effect caused a huge rush of new orders and it always takes featured businesses to catch up after appearing on the show. It came just in the nick of time. As I mentioned, I bought it for a friend here in Delaware, but I live in Indiana. I'm on vacation and visiting for the week. I got the Sleep Styler 2 hours before I was off to a dinner and Rifftrax show with my friend who is the recipient of the item. Although we were able to get together for a few hours today, yesterday was the last time I was certain I'd be able to see her until my next visit, at Christmas time. I expected her to kinda-sorta like it and be generally touched by the thoughtful gift. She absolutely loved it. She is giddy as a little kid on Christmas. She has long hair and takes a lot of pride in her appearance, and has often spoken of how long it takes her to get ready. She hasn't had time to use it yet, but she says she can't wait to try it out. I'll give you all a secondhand review once she lets me know.
  7. The show has been getting a lot darker. I have a hard time sympathizing with the inmates. I think they were being poorly treated and I'm in favor of prisoners' rights. While some people in prison are truly human garbage, a lot are just people who made mistakes. Prisoners of course are supposed to be denied certain rights that people on the outside get. The existence of for-profit private prisons troubles me, because it's always trouble when you incentivize cutting corners on human needs. Still, the inmates here complain that they are being treated like animals. But they ARE animals. Not before, but certainly during the riot. Tying up prison staff, denying bathroom rights, imprisoning one in a porta-potty, withholding insulin from a diabetic. I'm glad that Alex was brave enough to stand up to it, and I'm glad that not all the prisoners are on board with this savagery. I really despise Tasha Jefferson. She's lying through her teeth to the media. Calling it a peaceful demonstration when they are rioting and torturing guards. Calling Poussey's accidental death a murder. I really hope something bad happens to her.
  8. My SleepStyler finally shipped, after I ordered it in the 2nd week of March. I bought it as a gift for a friend back home, and had it shipped to my parents' house so I could give it to my friend while I'm in town for the week. Well.... I'll be in town until the morning of the 18th.... hopefully it arrives by then. Otherwise it'll have to wait and be a Christmas gift.
  9. She couldn't be a zombie. These guys aren't stupid. They know how to screen for undercover zombies with the blood pressure test. This was explored in season 2. The zombie virus can be sexually transmitted, and none of them would want Major to get infected again. Liv and Major would have to have a chaste relationship. Since these are TV characters, sex is basically food and they'll die if they don't have it. I must be the only one here who isn't suspicious of her. I agree with a lot of the commenters who think this season is getting too crowded. There are too many plot lines and they really need to wrap one or two of these things up.

Malcolm Goodwin will be appearing as the special celebrity guest on the June 19th episode of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?". It airs 9 PM Eastern on June 19th. For those not familiar with this incarnation of the show, they have the old improv veterans (always Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie, usually Wayne Brady, and 1 rotating 4th slot) doing most of the performing. In the 2013 CW revival, they add in a special guest star (usually from one of the CW's other shows) to do a few games with them. The guest stars don't usually do much, because they aren't strong improvisers, but they're around and sometimes it's fun to see an actor from another show just kind of hanging out and having fun.
  11. Well, no. She was just doing that to trigger a vision. They probably would have stopped after the vision.
  12. Ooh yes. I hate when this happens. I see it a lot on Supernatural, where they always have a major story arc or two, but between servicing those, they have a lot... too many if you ask me.. of Monster of the Week episodes. After 12 seasons, those get repetitive.... how many variations on vampires, werewolves, witches, et. al., can you do?
  13. New version? The first spinoff failed. Why do they think a second one would? Face it, Jack Bauer was the lynch pin of 24. Without him, it's just another show about terrorists.
  14. Ok I'm not tracking. Who is Jason Dohring? What character does he play?
  15. I just plain hate that they are, essentially, mailing me garbage. If it were smaller, and all in one piece, I probably wouldn't mind. The bulk and and unwieldy nature is what bothers me. I have considered that if they won't accept an unsubscribe request, maybe a change of address notification will do. I just need to find a vacant address and tell them to send it there.
  16. I've been cutting down on Spam lately. Most mailing lists, I have found, are good enough to honor my unsubscribe requests. It only takes 30 seconds to submit one. At least junk E-Mail doesn't take up physical space. I get a big, clunky, barely held together circular from The Indianapolis Star Buyer's Edge at least once a week, and I cannot figure out how to stop it.
  17. I found this season kind of boring. Early on, the real time aspect was novel and new. Now it's old hat. Shows about terrorism are nothing new, but I always found 24 entertaining because 24 was anchored by the long established character of Jack Bauer. You can give a show a strong anchor star, but have an ensemble cast strong enough that the show survives without that star. The Office is a good example. But that doesn't work when you're regularly changing cast and killing off characters. Jack Bauer was the only real constant thing that made it always feel like the same show. Now it just feels like some lame knock-off.
  18. I think I may be the only person not suspicious of Shawna. I think she might be genuinely innocent. I was a little offended when Ravi said something like "people who say they were wrongly accused are usually rightfully accused". I'm like, isn't that exactly what happened to Major?
