I remember his rants on abortion and how everyone was going to Hell. It calmed down once everyone realized Benessa was the draw for 19 K&C but man. That was a crazy time. I do think had the Seewalds not pulled a "OMG OUR BEN IS COURTING A DUGGAR DAUGHTER OMG!!!" all over social media, JB would have quietly ended it after a few months. Ben was simply too young. I don't think he quite grasped the concept of courting = married in the Duggar world and what being married entailed. I suspect he's probably changed and evolved in his beliefs and they don't align with Jessa and co. I don't think he's happy with the current arrangement but he's resigned to his current situation. As for the name. Lady Jane Grey. Really? That reminds me of the digging that Fred and Mary of Denmark did for Isabella (since Danish princes and princesses were expected to be named after Danish ancestors). They said it was after Archduchess Isabella, the daughter of Joanna and Philip of Castile, who became queen of Denmark and Norway in the 1500s. Just say you like the name damn it! Don't pull this "Lady Jane Grey was a martyr..." Lady Jane was one of the most educated women of her time, which will be denied to poor little Ivy Jane Seewald.

Could just add Ivy to the end. Or "the others".

They also don't re-run Counting On after the first airing, right? If they're going to go that route maybe they should just recast Smuggar. There have to be Smuggar look a likes out there.

The last set of Duggars to live high on the hog were the Smuggars. I remember how much money they were throwing at take out food while Smugs was working in DC. Yeah. Might be wise to save money before he and Jing end up in the TTH with Felicity.

I turned down two contract teaching gigs to focus on other things. It feels really freeing. I'm going to be counting pennies this summer (hello Swagbucks) but it'll be worth it. I'm applying out for grown up jobs starting in January and getting my work off the ground. Not that college teaching isn't a "grown up job" but it's time to move on for a bit.

Besides that atrocious yellow dress, she does know to pick clothes and dress well. Her clothes fit, there's no modesty slips/panels, and she very rarely looks frumpy. I'd take this over Jessa and Jill's maternity wear any day. And it's light years better than the green maternity shirt Michelle wore all the time. Imagine if she actually wasn't brainwashed to think her only purpose in life was a wife and mother. She would probably do well working as a fashion consultant or the like. She could have gone on to Say Yes to the Dress as one of their consultants instead of Counting On.

The most watched episode prior to Ben and Jessa's courtship episode was the Jubilee episode with 1.74 million viewers. Ben and Jessa's courtship episode was the first episode to hit the 2 million viewer mark. Their wedding episode is still the most watched episode of 19 K&C with 3.5 million viewers. Obviously the gravy train didn't continue on due to a certain cretin named Josh. I think Mike thought it would.

Good catch. I scrolled through the Jed/Jer/Joy posts to look for a "graduation" party but there were none on the blog. They only talked about Josiah's party that was on the show. Normally those two recap the show in painstaking detail.

Last one they had was for Josiah (I did a scroll through Lilly and Ellie's blog, they need a graphic designer STAT). I think they gave up any pretense that the kids were actually getting an education after that.

We've got just over a month until James joins this thread. I'm very surprised we don't have a courtship yet for one of the twins unless they're holding out for a double wedding.

They did that on purpose. There were certain prints/styles they would restrict and then send out the ugly stuff. Granted wearing Lularoe was considered a status symbol in some circles so they could easily move the ugly as sin stuff.

Yes, there's at least one more season airing in the fall. I wouldn't be surprised if with BabyPalooza '19 that they get another season in spring 2020.
