I go away for a bit after complaining the Duggars are boring and I'll be damned. Jilly Muffin has enrolled Izzy in evil public school. I eat my words.
-
Moar 90 Day Fiance! Because TLC needs to drive something into the ground... I am finding myself checking in on the Duggars less and less. There seems to be nothing to discuss. For a family that dreamed of themselves as fundie Kardashians they have no idea how to keep the "brand" going.
-
Do you think they realize that though? I think they heard some parts about The Lord and heaven and assumed it was a Christian love song.
-
I truly believe the Bateses are not that much different than the Duggars. Gil and Kelly have had the advantage of watching the Duggars bumble through the media circus and as a result appear more savvy and "realistic". I really do not think they are all that different and would just suck up supporting one of their sons if it came down to it. But I'm cynical and don't think much of the Bateses. The less women shackled to that clan, the better in my opinion. Run women ruuuuuun!

Lawson was the one with a lawn care business. He does seem to have some business sense but Lawson only has one true love. It is very telling that while the Bates women have snagged fundie royalty as husbands, their brothers don't attract even the Caldwells, Kellers, or Swansons of this world. They are on a Christian network after all. I do think Gil and Kelly would have no issue supporting them if they finally decided to get married. Then again I suspect the Bates have this expectation that the daughters-in-law will have an education like their daughters do (even if it is at Clown College). No one is going to spend 4 years of college just to pump out 19 babies for Kelly and Gil, I mean Jesus.
-
But it talks about the Lord and how he's got to be good so he can see his baby when he leaves this world!

Nah. Those girls were just willing to give up their first side hug to the first guy that came around. Skank! That or Whitney told Chaney how much of a pushy MIL Kelly Jo is and to run. Oof. The only Bates son that has gotten married so far is Zach. I wonder if all of them are pompous, arrogant assholes then. If the Duggar boys can find wives it makes you wonder...

That and Jeremy is kind of like JB except chasing politics he's chasing some sort of fame? He seems to be attempting to hustle. If he is successful or not though... Well he's just like his father in law in that regard too.

JD and Abbie: Captured Before the Rapture

Grace's birth special is up. No actual birth footage though. -
Pete Holmes and Jamie Lee didn't even really need to parody the Duggars when they wrote Kid Farm.

Joe & Kendra: Looking Forward To Side Hugs
PikaScrewChu replied to Quilt Fairy's topic in Counting On
I don't even bother to look at any of Sierra's posts. Too depressing. Kendra, here is your future. Choose wisely. Oh right, choose and wise are words they don't know. -
I spy an FU internets picture... No bib.

There's a bow but the baby is wearing pants. Am I sure this baby is a girl? Josiah is really smitten with his little girl. Now run free Josiah and hook up with your true love, Chad the Pool Boy!- 6.4k replies

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
PikaScrewChu replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
Joy was the first of the official buddy system iirc. I'm very doubtful it began with Jed!2020 and Sinner Twin. Josh was before the Duggars freefall into Gothard and fundamentalism. He probably only got spanked at worst. -
It's leggings or black pantyhose around our age. I normally wear black pantyhose for formal events and leggings for dresses at work. The only thing with Jinger is I think she would go several shades darker than her actual skin tone so she would have bronze legs and a not so bronze rest of her body.

The Annual Grammy Awards - General Discussion
PikaScrewChu replied to chitowngirl's topic in The Grammy Awards
Todd in the Shadows had a screen of a tweet in one of his videos "I fear nothing except BTS stans." I like BTS and I'm even afraid of the BTS army! Lil Nas X is a treasure. I'm afraid Old Town Road is going to be the last of him. Please noooooooo! That kid has spunk and I loved all the other artists coming on to support him. That performance and Lizzo were my two favorites of the night. Steven Tyler needs to pack it in. That was awful. The Prince tribute felt off too. I'm an Usher fan but I felt like it fell flat from the start. thank u, next was one of the albums I had on repeat over the past year. 7 Rings has been a very polarizing song, either you love it or hate it. I get why she performed it since it was the song that got the nominations but still. 2019 was actually a great year for music. Alicia was a terrible choice for a host though. And the day I never have to see Mrs. O on my TV screen again will be a happy one. -
Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp

I'm going to hazard a guess that the "true" blanket training ended with Josiah. I would bet everything I own and then some that Smugs was never blanket trained. They may have done a modified form for Joy to Justin. After Jackson? I'm very doubtful. I'm going to be bluntly honest. I don't think Joy has the skills to read about blanket training and successfully execute it. It's not that I think she's innately dumb but her parents dropped the ball when it came to her education. That may be the only bonus for little Giddy. -
Could you imagine if Marjorie Jackson had married into the clan? I think she would have generated more interest than the current crop of daughters-in-law. It's really strange to think about that Anna has been around so long that she is a part of the Duggar brand. Maybe JB should have married off the other boys much sooner. Eh. Then again the less children born into this cult, the better. JB and Abbie will get nowhere near the double digits now.

TLC and the Duggars were probably not happy to be honest. The birth and naming of a baby is what they want on their terms! Especially since it was Benessa's first child and Benessa were the golden couple at the time. Remember the rushed pictures of newborn Spurgeon wrapped in a brown towel and the official photos where Jessa looked really sickly? The odd thing to me is that it is well known that Ben's family can't keep a secret to save their lives. I would have just kept the name and moved along.

Kendra went from 0-100 within the span of 24 hours. They were so strict on the touching while courting and during the engagement. She legitimately got pregnant within the first couple of tries (Garrett was born 273 days after the wedding). Going from 10 second sidehugs to having sex with no prep time in-between is not healthy. My idle speculation is that the Dugs didn't expect Lauren to be this much of a drama queen. Once they had her paired off with Josiah there was no going back though. I wouldn't be surprised if Justin is courting though. If they are savvy she'll be TV ready and a sympathetic character for the audience by the time all is said and done. But this is the Duggars we are talking about so I'm doubtful they are actively searching for women that will connect to the TeeVee audience.

Joe & Kendra: Looking Forward To Side Hugs

Addison and Ivy throw down! Is it illegal to take bets on which GrandDuggars would win in a wrestling match? Ivy does have the advantage of having Bin-Bob as a personal trainer but Addison looks like she might be a chirper to get under your skin. I saw this topic bumped up and thought "Oh FFS Kendra is pregnant again, isn't she?" Somewhat relieved to see that isn't the case, although Addison will probably be doing a smash cake for her 1st birthday too. -
I truly believe Spurgeon was supposed to be Gabriel. Jessica Seewald spilling the beans that she was an aunt and the baby's name was Gabriel made them go back to the drawing board. I've always hypothesized that they were egged on to choose an outrageous name as well. I can't remember what was going on around the time of Spurgeon's birth but I think everyone was still talking about Smuggar, no?
